What happens if you sold this ages ago because it was worth 100 gold and wasn't a Toy at the time?
This was original item during Cata 4.1 (troll patch)
, then later they added this
in 4.2 (firelands). Now our alts will have free visual/appereance without throwing thousands of gold. At least I hope that's the case here.
It has a 2 minute cooldown, but how long is the buff? It's going to be really annoying for RP purposes if it's only a short period.
is a Toy in Legion, here's a quick guide for it:
Simply enter Zul Gurub on Heroic Mode and right at the entrance
will offer the prequest
. For the quest you have to kill 2 Bosses in Zul Gurub and
himself. Since you cant kill
directly, you have to kill one
before you start the encounter. Upon reaching P2, pull one
, move to a chain & let the
jump on you. Repeat it 2 more times and Jindo is defeated.
Loot the quest item, complete the quest at
and fly to Janeiro's Point near Booty Bay.
This item is becoming a toy in Legion!
Due to the popularity of this tool I have created a Wowhead
! Check it out and feel free to leave suggestions for me in the comments :)
New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!
Follow this link:
Log into a Google account
Click on 'File'
Click on 'Make a copy...'
This will add an editable copy of the spreadsheet to your drive!
Alternatively you can download it as a .xlxs or .ods file, but I haven't checked this for compatibility.
Happy hunting :)
To confirm, come Legion this
WILL be added to your Toybox automatically if you have completed the quest (even if you deleted the ring long ago!).
In Legion this actually appears as a ring on your finger. I've submitted a screenshot.
When used it gives a buff with infinite duration which persists though death, to "unequip" the ring you just cancel the buff.
I sold this ring by accident back in Cata, not knowing it was the only one.
Then they gave it back to me years later, also days after I bought the Black Ice imitation that could BE a toy.
5k gold wasted, but MAN am I happy to have this thing again!
From the item Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron
"The drowned god's heart is black ice."
Would be funny if you heard the beating of an Old god's heart when used.
Ba-dum Ba-dum Ba-dum
Fun Fact: I was just transformed into a black cat as part of the Hallow's Eve celebration (whilst trick or treating from my friendly neighborhood Stormfeather Outpost in the Hinterlands...and the gem ring
actually shows up while you are transfigured into a cat
. It is fantastic.
If I am lucky enough to become a cat once more before my trick or treating is complete, I will get a screenpic and upload it for proof.
Edit: I became a cat and submitted photo proof that the player, as a groovy cat, can wear Black Ice and have it show up on the avatar
As a druid, if I get the "Dressed to Kill" disguise from a Blingtron and have the Black Ice buff, the jewel appearance floats about a foot behind the base of my skull.
For anyone trying to figure out why this quest isn't showing up...go back and clear the quests in Grom'gol and then Bambala. I'm not sure what specific quest is the prereq, but after turning in 'be raptor' and 2 other quests to finish up in bambala the quest showed up when i entered ZG
Fun fact with this toy's buff persists through death so show your treasure hunting pride as long as you want! however with the latest patch it is removed from your character upon logging out.
The comments on this post are quite outdated. Although the method to getting the toy,
, hasn't changed, I just wanted to put it in simple easy steps for the next person that comes along:
/way Northern Stranglethorn 71.95, 32.91 Zul'Gurub
2. To the left of the entrance, as you walk in, you will find
, who will give you the guest:
Booty Bay's Interests
3. Kill High Priest Venoxis.
4. Kill High Priestess Kilnara.
5. Head to
Jin'do the Godbreaker
. There are 4 x platforms surrounding the boss' platform. These platforms have a
Gurubashi Spirit Warrior
on each. Kite one of the Gurubashi Spirit Warriors up to the boss' platform. DPS the boss to 1% health. This takes the boss into a second phase.
6. In the second phase, there are 3 x chains connected to the boss that you cannot damage. Stand on each chain, one at a time, until the Gurubashi Spirit Warrior uses
. You can now kill each of the chains.
7. Kill and loot Jin'do the Godbreaker.
8. Hand in Booty Bay's Interests and pick up
A Shiny Reward
, which rewards Black Ice.
And that's it, you're done!
Who will protect Azeroth from the scourge of Black Ice?
Here is a link to a quick video I made to obtain the Black Ice toy
Hope this helps everyone
