For the above reasons, two situations would allow for optimal use of this legendary in an encounter
where you use
on the pull
with this legendary uses
at the beginning of a fight, and after it expires a
for the benefit of the casting mage. This allows the mage to be able to use
again as soon as it is off cooldown (~5 minutes into the encounter).
This is the best use of the legendary in an encounter that is between 5 and 6 minutes in length. Of note, it will only allow a single mage to benefit from a 3rd full/partial
, unless the encounter is 7 minutes or longer.
in the group (a
with the right pet, or a
without this legendary) uses their
FIRST for the raid, prior to a
with this legendary making use of its effect for the personal haste buff. In this instance, the
again ~6 minutes into the fight.
This is just as reasonable as option #1 for an encounter 7-10 minutes long.
In an encounter where you DO NOT use
on the pull, this legendary is still of benefit, but not quite as much:
is used later in the fight, ideally it should be used at least 2 minutes prior to the end of the encounter. Doing this will allow ALL Mages in the group/raid to get an extra minute of

Gain 10% increased movement speed and 2% Haste. Successfully applying a loss of control effect to an enemy, interrupting an enemy, or dispelling any target increases this effect to 70% increased movement speed and 25% Haste for 10 sec. This increase may occur once every 30 sec.
Every 30 seconds, gain an absorb shield for 15% (25% for non-tanks) of your maximum health for 30 seconds.

Use: Launch a vortex of destruction that seeks your current enemy. When it reaches the target, it explodes, dealing a critical strike to all enemies within 10 yds for Fire damage. (1 Min, 15 Sec Cooldown)
Aside from the obvious 80 seconds of TW with another provider in your group/raid, do note that the debuff from spells like TW lasts 10 minutes but the CD on TW is 5. By the time the raid is ready to use a TW effect again on a long fight, you won't have had one bonus TW thanks to this ring, you will have had

Double TW duration is one thing, but I wonder if it's possible to double it's effect instead. After all, up till now there was no need for any interaction between TW/BL/Hero due to debuff, so potentially it might be possible to stack them.
Fact: unless they give me a duplicate time warp that shares a cooldown with the base ability but only affects me, I can and will spread the Sated debuff to anyone near me
This dropped today on 9/3 from Blood-Princess Thal'ena in Violet Hold on Heroic Difficulty. Had item level 821 when the ring dropped, and 12 hours played at level 110. Was a full guild group with 2 rogues, 1 paladin, 1 warrior and myself. We queued through random dungeon finder.
What if you use Drums of Fury with this? could that be a constant Time Warp basically from start to finish as long as you have enough charges?
Despite the fact that this legendary (and other legendary rings) don't have the text "Unique Equipped: Legion Legendary (1)", they can't be equipped together with another legendary, even another ring. Source: I have both this ring and
and they cannot be worn together with the error that I can only equip 1 Legion Legendary. Also strangely once I got
both of the rings suddenly had a prismatic socket where the Shard didn't before, maybe that's some kind of consolation?
Anyone else with this ring randomly get a Prismatic Socket added to it overnight?

Prepare to be hated by everyone with a strong execute phase if you get this.
You can get 3 usages within a 6 minute period if you fight a boss which requires bloodlust at start.
0:00 You Time wrap for team
0:40 Someone else uses hero (Or you can use drums if there is no other hunter with pet/shaman/mage)
5:00 Use your Time wrap again (CD for TW skill is 5mins, debuff CD is 10mins)
35% bloodlust uptime for a 5min 40sec fight. (26% uptime for 5 min fight with 2 usages).
Not so great if you need to use bloodlust during execute stage. Can push extra dps if you exit raid, BL yourself outside and then pull boss as soon as you get doored in.
If you have multiple mages with this legendary, get them to use their TW @ 0:40 and 5:40.
I cannot really understand why this had to be so gimmicky...
It basically means that if you have this you should keep TW to yourself and wait for someone else to pop Hero to get the ring's full benefit.
Why do I have to explain to every raid leader that I have this and that I should not be the one giving everyone TW because that way I can have double the TW effect and do more DPS?
Can u imagine trying to explain this during a problematic PUG fight when we should be nuking?
Not to mention that the benefit could be lost if TW or Hero is not required at the start or at the middle of a fight...
What's legendary about that?
Why not just make it a separate active ability that shares CD with TW and save us from the entire coordination hassle?
Oh and there will definitely be some poor stupid mage soul using TW at an inappropriate time thinking I can do more DPS with my ring...

I got mine while I was in Wisp form doing the World Quest at the pools, in Val'Sharah. I saw a tiny little chest by the tree, opened it and BOOM.
This item is extremely useful for lots of specs, but particularly for Frost Mages.
If you have this legendary and Magtheridon's Banished Bracers (and if you don't have Lady Vashj's grasp), you may want to use Glacial Spike as a Tier 7 talent.
Having Lady Vashj's Grasp will push you towards Thermal Void instead.
7.2 is bringing a change to this legendary! The new effect:
Your Time Warp will be applied to yourself at 25 sec duration when you are affected by Temporal Displacement or similar effects.
Any clarification on this would be
. My understanding is that the nerf will cause your TW to only give you a 25 second haste buff (instead of 40 seconds) if you already have a heroism/blood lust debuff.
EDIT:: Appears to have been reverted back to its pre 7.2 effect.
