To get this mount you need to grind exalted reputation with Wintersaber Trainers, NPC (
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=10618
) gives you quest to gather meat from 2 kinds of mobs in WS (
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4970
), but you have to return to him each time you gather 5 of each; after getting Friendly reputation (or something) you get another quest, with killing Winterfall mobs (
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5201
). Finally, later you get one with killing giants in WS, so you have 3 quests to grind. Took my guild mate ~2-3 months :P

Very long process to obtain this mount. The poster above me has some great links for the quests. It is rumored that in the expansion reputation obtained is increased so if you want to do this wait until then as it might be a less strenuous process.

Incorrect. You get Winterfall Intrusion quest at 1500/3000 neutral. And it is by far the fastest way to grind this rep now, especially when all the farmers are gone from winterfall village and the rep gained is buffed to 75 from 50. It will still take much time to get it though.

took me about 2 and ahalf - 3 months to farm for it, about 8-10 hours every day, but well worth it, he is so handsom

Confirmed that reputation per quest turn-in has been increased to 75 (82 if human). Should make the grind at least somewhat more bearable.
Also as an FYI, at least one Draenei has reported that the mount is not purchaseable at exalted. Sadly, this wouldn't surprise me too much since I ran into a similar issue as I was leveling my Draenei where I simply couldn't get certain quest items. A few quests get bugged when a Draenei is involved.

It would appear that by the description ("very fast mount" ) this is an epic mount, and yet it only requires 75 riding skill, making it unique and allowing you to save a good amount of gold.
Still, it's not really worth the grind, imo. You'll need the riding skill eventually anyways to get a flying mount, and by then no one's gonna give a crap if you spent ungodly amounts of time to grind a rather plain looking cat.

you dont grind this to run around to show off with so taht other people can think you are great, you grind for this one to please yourself, and honestly, dont get a mount that others think is looking good, get one that you want and that you think looks good and fit you, since its you who is going to ride it
i miss the oldschool mounts.....

IMO since its a rep grind, this should be avaliable to both alliance and horde, i just talked to the guy today on my blood elf and i became neutral, unfortunatly i cant get the quests =( this is one sad blood elf

horde has a similar rep grinding quest in Un'Goro, you get a special raptor wich i dont know how it looks like, but this one you can clearly see its different from any other Tiger

There is no raptor mount horde can grind for. The ungoro NPC never gave any quest or faction, and has been removed from the game.

Not sure why anyone would think to kill this NPC, but w/e. Tankana is right those, oldschool mounts were awesome. To this day, even with 2 NE mains, I avoid darny as much as I can because I don't like seeing the guards ride my fav mount that I'll never be able to ride.
But, this mount is a nasty grind. The first 1500 into neutral really make or break that grind. Im over halfway to honored and it's been more than a week of minimum 4hrs/day.
Don't do this grind for show...it's not easy. And lots of ppl won't like you for doing it, esp when you are focused like me. I do this because other than the old epic mount nightsaber(solid blk)....this is the coolest mount Blizz ever made. And I want one, for me.
I'll post again at revered, then when I'm done. Somethign to think about though...when you hit revered -- you're only HALF done.

my english is not very good : It took me about 3 months to get it. You have to manage a plan to farm easily.
I decided to do 10-20 quests a day and was couting the quests left.
If your are not human you will have to do 560 quests, 20 quests of the meal and 540 of the winterfall inscursion. When you get revered you have done the half of your farming :3000+6000+12000=21000. The total is 42000. So revered means 280 quests.
Think : I have to do 15 quests for today and i will to 15 others tomorrow.
In the time i farmed i saw a lot of people who started with the motivation to get the mount but they thinked "they are 540 quests left, i'll never do that" and so they stopped the farming after a few days.
Other thing is that if you start this farming, try to start it lvl 63 : the mobs will always give you xp, ands the furbolg will give you 5 rep per kill instead of 1 rep if you grey kill them. The best thing to do is to up some levels when you get revered with the timber, because after there won't be any mobs that give you rep, and the only way to up exhalted with them is to loot 1500 Winterfall Spirit Beads to give them by pack of 5 to the npc "salfa". Upping exhalted timbermaw allow you to do this quests that gives you an epic trinket. Useless sure but upping two reps at the same time is best than upping only one.
Good luck to every body who is farming it !

I've started the quests for this, 3 hours in and 1800/3000 nuetral.
I'm guessing one of the best things to do would be to pick up both quests, go do furblogs then grind your way back up, handing in for 150 - rather than 75.
Make good use of the long run tbh.

Just for those people wondering what kind of time investment this is, you have to grind 42000 rep with the trainer.
42000 rep / 75 rep pre turnin = 560 turnins
The average person will maybe pull off about 4 turnins per hour (depending on meat drop %s which are usually terrible) = 140 hours.
That's a huge time investment. About the only other rep grind I can think of that comes close to taking this long is the Argent Dawn grind.

Exalted has been achieved. I love this mount. All that effort, all that time and all that boredom was worth it. 42K rep.....no grind will ever be as annoying. I'm happy it's over. I did get 4 lvls and 720ishG (after repairs, and D/Eing all greens), I started with 50G. I was able to purchase my flying mount, and this one and still have over 500G left over. I will only ride my flying mount when I have no choice.
I've pushed my way to exalted with darny too. I know its not needed anymore, but I was revered before they changed it -- figured id just finish it out.
Have fun. It's a long way.

If you are level 70 this grind is cake. Really, really, boring and tedious cake, but cake none the less. It is much faster at this level because you can simply make a bee line from Frostsaber Rock to Winterfall Village through all the stealthed cats and other mobs without getting dismounted. Not only that, but you can totally own the low level furbolgs, especially if you're a hunter or other high dps class. And then there's the added bonus of virtually no repair bill because the furbolgs are so weak versus a 70.
I would highly recommend waiting until you're 70 to start the grind, unless you want the 5 rep per furbolg kill instead of the 1 you get at 70.
I've timed myself and my fastest runs are 6-7 minutes with an epic mount, versus the 15 or so minutes that everyone else has mentioned. This adds up to about 65 hours. Not too bad if you do a few hours of grinding a day.

I am a gnome warlock and decided to gain exhaulted with all 5 alliance races. When I first got my epic tiger mount from the Night Elves a friend of mine teased me and asked me if it came with a booster seat. I took a screen shot of myself on it from behind and all you could see was the top of her staff.
I love all my mounts. I had a draenai stop and eye me the longest when I was riding my elekk. Such fun and I really enjoyed gaining the rep, it was something I wanted and I went for it.
I will definately be working on getting this one. Its an awesome one!!!! I never knew it existed until now. Thanks alot for letting me know. My guild thinks I'm insane but thats their oppinion.

By the end of the grind you'll of made way over 2000g. Myself, I had 5 cards, 2 epics, 3 blues and a Mooncloth back recipe.
There is no point in grinding this mount for the sake of saving money. Also by the time you hit 70 if you quested you should have at least 1.1k gold.
Few tips for the brave people out there joining the minority :D
1. Get yourself a riding crop. You will spend 80-90% of your time running while doing this quest. Knocking 10% off of that is great.
2. Kill everything in the camp. They both spawn on the same points. The Shamans are the ones you will be hunting for, so be sure to kill everything. At 70 it is easy to 1-2 shot these mobs so no worries about the time you'll add.
3. Kill all players. The worst thing that can happen is you having to wait around for spawns because someone is grinding. Don't worry, at 55+ they have a million places to grind, but you only have 1 viable spot to get this mount at.
4. Ignore the elite quest. Simple.
5. Go cross country. Riding crop + 60 mobs + 70 agro range = no time. It's unlikely you'll be dazed and dismounted by 60 mobs, run in the straightest line possible.
6. Make a bank character. Don't waste time running / porting / flying to your factions capitals to empty your bags. Get a mass mail mod (like CT_mailmod), sell your trash and send anything you want to your bank toon and get back to grinding.
7. Don't expect it over night. If you are hardcore and play 13-16 hours a day it can be done in a week. (16hours * 9minutes/run / 75rep/run = 8k a day, 4.67days.). It is now faster than it was at 60, due to the lack of grinders and increased rep but it's still a long grind.
8. Don't compete with your fellow farmers! Someone else grinding the mount? I'm sure they will be more than happy to have a friend to do it with (even better if its a pala, crusader aura ftw, eh? :P)
Also, the mount does have a brown saddle which does ruin it to an extent. But it's easily the best looking mount in game atm.
And for all you hordies I've got my fingers crossed that Blizz add your lovely Dino mount in WotLK, seems a bit unfair that alliance get something so unique and you get nowt, and after 2.0, well you'r black war raptor has somewhat lost its appeal as now it's SO common.

If you're a 70 and can kill the giants easily, there really isn't a reason to ignore the elite quest. It takes me just under 20 minutes to do a full cycle from the rock to the giants, back up to the furbolgs, then to the rock again. So right around twice the amount of time to do a single furby run. The loot drops are slightly better, but more importantly it breaks up the monotony of repeated furby runs.

Finished it today.
Average 10 mins per quest as a level 70 Human Priest (Holy, 1050 spell damage) with epic mount. So ~80 hours in total. Doing 1500 rep per day over 4 weeks is a good pace if your serious about getting it fairly quickly.
Some info about furbolg spawning:
Outside village = Den-watch + Low chance for Shaman
Lower level = Den-watcher + Shaman
Upper level = Shaman + Ursa
Hillside = mainly Ursa + low chance for Shaman and Den-watcher
Cave = 1 ursa, 1 shaman (100% of the time)
Respawn time is about the same as the time it takes to return from the npc using the shortest route. Slightly longer for the cave.
If your unlucky with the spawns you will end up short on shamans so kill den-watchers at the lower levels to free up possible spawn points for them. The hillside always has at least 5 ursa so you never have to worry about being too short on those.
Kill any horde you see, group with any alliance you see. There is a low level quest to kill these mobs so you will meet many level 55 players on your way.
Dont do the giants. Takes longer than 2x Furbolg quests unless the village is completely swamped with players. The only real advantage is it makes the grind a little less boring.

If any engineers are on this grind like me the parachute cloak's cool down has been reduced to 30 seconds rather than the old 30 minutes. This can save quite a bit of time just jumping off frostaber rock and gliding down instead of running back down to have a safe jump distance to the ground, also that first drop off into the valley when leaving the furblogs, nice to just jump right off and glide down. When using the cloak, you glide through the air pretty fast, at least 60% increased speed if not 100% but not confirmed.

This farm takes approx 100 Hours at lvl 70 with Riding Crop
41000 rep total / 75 rep per q
560 turnins, say you use 10 mins each turnin
560 * 10 / 60 = 93 ~ 100 ish hours.
Can vary alot, this is for non-humans.
Lets say you do 6-7 hours of grinding each day you'd use two weeks to get this mount.
Hell, im going for it! :D:D

Yes this mount is as fast as the lvl 60 armored "epic" mounts. This mount is rated an epic and the title was changed to purple like all other epics. It is without armor and the only non-armored epic mount in the game that can still be purchased.
Any long term players that have the old school epic mounts -- I hate you. LOL.
Nah, grats for awesome mounts from back then.
Yes you can ride this mount with the lvl 75 riding skill (only epic mount to allow this - even the ZG mounts were changed to 150 riding). But, it's relatively useless now cause you need to purchase 150 riding to get to purchase your 225 riding for your regular lvl 70 flyer. And by the time you finish the grind you'll have the money for the 150 riding anyway.
Yeah, waiting til lvl 70 is a great idea. But, with the furbies having the only (pre 2.2) agi ench for weaps this was something I chose to grind to lvl my toon. He got all his rep for the ench as I gained WS T rep. And it is nice to have all that cash from the grind and then cause I lvled grinding (as previously posted 62-67) getting from 67-70 took a few instance runs and the rest of terokkar forest. Leaving last 4 zones (Nagrand+) to get extra gold cause I was max lvl when completeing them. /bump for extra gold
But yes the Spectral is very cool mount. Good thing I got lucky and found a card, and now thats what my dreanei priest rides - she was getting a cat anyway since I think elekk are ugly - but now she has the best mount. Just wish they'd stop changing how it looks....grrrrrrr

IMO this just might be the 3rd rarest mount in the game if not the 2nd.
From 2 years in the realm Lightninghoof, I've seen this mount 2 times, the 2 times, ZG tiger 2 times, and ZG raptor 3 times, and the raven lord thing about 3 or 4 times, never seen the deathcharger yet, that stands as the rarest, and oh yea I've seen the kara horse a couple times too.
This is a pretty awesome mount, its one of those mounts that are like a sports car around town, it really stands out and you try to catch up to it or run over to it to get a better look. Right now I'm 2 bars to revered with the wintersaber trainers.
Good luck to all who are on this grind, its a nasty one

A #4. When you first meet him he only has 1 quest for you to do untill you gain 1,500 rep where you will get the 2nd quest to do untill you are honored where you get the 3rd and final quest.
Q #5. How much reputation do I get if I am a human?
A #5. As a human you will get 82 rep each quest turn in.
Q #6. As a human, how many quests will I have to complete to become exalted with the winterspring trainers?
A #6. As a human you will have to complete 513 quests.
Q #7. How much reputation do I get if I am a non-human?
A #7. As a non-human you will get 75 rep each quest turn in.
Q #8. How many quests will I have to complete to become exalted with the winterspring trainers as a non-human?
A #8. As a non-human you will have to complete 560 quests.
Q #9. Witch of the 3 quests is the fastest?
A #9. The fastest quest to complete is "Winterfall Intrusion" which requires you to kill 10 level 57-59 winterfall furblogs. Average completion time of this quest in 10 minutes.
Q #10. How much is the Winterspring Frostsaber mount when I am exalted?
A #10. The mount costs 90g to purchase.
Q #11. How fast does the Winterspring Frostsaber travel?
A #11. The mount travels at 100% speed increase.
Q #12. The mount says it requires 75 riding skill, do I have do buy epic mount training (150) to ride this epic mount?
A #12. No, this is the only epic mount in the game that requires 75 riding skill, but you will need 150 riding skill to learn training for flying mounts.
Q #13. Why don't more people have the winterspring frostsaber if they don't have to buy epic training to ride this epic mount?
A #13. Two reasons really, this grind is THE most intense and longest reputation grind in the entire game, period. Second, you can easily make 650g for epic mount training and 90g for epic mount by questing and auctioning/vedoring items LONG before you ever finish the grind. By the end of the grind you should make over 2,000g and have about 15 or 16 blue items and maybe even 1 or 2 epics.
---HORDE FAQs:-------------------------------------------------
Q #1. Where is Rivern Frostwind?
A #1. He is at the tip of frostsaber rock in north-west Winterspring.
Q #2. (As blood elf) When I talk to him he says I am now neutral with the wintersaber trainers, how do I begin the quests to raise my reputation?
A #2. You can not obtain any quests to raise your reputation with the wintersaber trainers as the quests and winterspring frostsaber mount are obtainable being alliance ONLY.
Q #3. Can horde obtain the ?
A #3. No, this mount is exclusively for Alliance players ONLY.
Q #4. Do horde have a version of this mount grind?
A #4. No, there is no horde version of the wintersaber trainers, however there were Ravasour Trainers in Un'goro Crater at one time but were removed from the game. No word if they will ever be implemented into the game again.

It will become ALOT easier to grind rep for this mount after patch 2.3 has arrived
Frostsaber Provisions now give 250 rep
Winterfall Intrusion now give 250 rep
Rampaging Giants now give 350 rep

And as that site states, this is a PTR change, and it might now affect LIVE

As of patch 2.3 the rep, as reported here already, has increased to 250 or 350 per quest turn in. Many people suggest that after you get past the first 1500 rep (1500 into neutral) you should ONLY do the Winterfal instrusion quest (
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5201
). This would reward you with 250 rep per turn in. I disagree though and suggest that as soon as you can start doing the giants quest you should, assuming you are already level 70 of course. This is why...
Lets say at level 70 you can do the second quest (winterfall intrusion) in 8 minutes including travel time. This means you can complete the quest 7.5 times per hour under optimal conditions.
7.5 * 250 = 1875 rep/hour
Unfortunately the respawn rate of the shaman's is such that many times you'll be simply waiting for the right mob to spawn and it will likely move you down to only 6.5 or 7 turn ins per hour.
Adjusted: 7 * 250 = 1750 rep/hour
Now if you do both the winterfall intrusion quest and the Rampaging Giants quest (
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5981
) by running first to winterfall village, killing 5 of each type of furlbog, (maybe kill some extra guys too to help with the Shaman respawns) and then run south to do the giants (there are three general locations to find them, you may have to go to a different one every other trip due to slow respawn timer) and then run straight as an arrow back to frostsaber rock you can complete both quests in 12 minutes or you can do both quests together 5 times an hour.
5 * (250 + 350) = 3000 rep/hour
Now of course this is optimistic as well, there will always be times when you are searching for one mob type that hasn't spawned enough to complete the quest sooner or later so (and this is from my own personal experience) a 15 minute allotment per trip is accurate, or 4 completions per hour.
4 * (250 + 350) = 2400 rep/hour
Thus I believe the most efficient way to grind this rep is to do the first quest until 1500. do ONLY the second quest to Honored. And then always do both the second and the third together as a circuit until exalted.
As a note I tried doing all three quests in a circuit but the unpredictability of the drops for quest 1 make this unreliable. I did all three in 15 minutes once (great rep/hour) and I did all three in 25 minutes (terrible rep per hour). For consitency I'd stick with just two and three.
I wrote this up after finishing a 3 hour grind and I went from 4007/12000 to 407/21000 during that time. Thats 2800 rep/hour.
Good luck guys, with some hard work you get could this done in 2 days if you really wanted. (one day if you are sick and don't ever sleep).
****EDIT*****
I forgot to mention that I did this with NO competition (well small competition for about 30 minutes). If you are on a busy server or simply a server that has another grinder that plays when you do, this will take a good deal more time.
*****EDIT #2*****
I had riding crop equipped the ENTIRE time. It really helps as you spend a good deal of time just traveling.
*****EDIT #3******
Man I keep forgetting things. I meant to mention that I am human so my 2800 rep/hr is with the 10% bonus. The actual rate was more like 2545 rep/hr

Ok.. I've started this grind a few days ago I"m at 4250/6000. I got the second quest at 1500/3000 as stated.. how ever I tried to do just the second quest as stated... and I can't do it. You have to pick up the first one before the second is availabe form the trainer. When I tried to turn it in it wouldn't let me. you have to turn the first one in before the trainer gives you the option to turn the second one in. Now I don't know if this is going to change when I get the third...(fingers crossed) the drop rate on the first hurts..lol.
I have a lvl 64 NE Hunter. and I'm getting 10 rep for killing each Shamen and Ursa.

from 1500/3000 neutral to exalted, it took me about 14 hours.
when i got to doing the winterfall intursion and Rampaging giants, each round was about 10-15 minutes.
I was doing the quests for 2 characters at the same time, had one on follow, and a pally friend on follow so i had crusader aura as well, made things faster :P
Wasn't too bad, just had to kill a bunch of ppl trying to do the quests that involved killing my shamans/ursas.

I got this mount yesterday and it took around 20 hours for me AOE grinding as a fire mage. It's not a hard mount to get now at all, it just takes a few hours of grinding but it's worth it and if you're a class with good AoE spells then the grinds even easier, I got a few nice drops while doing it too, a lot of frost protection recipes and several BoE blues and one epic. I also looted around 30 stacks of runecloth. You will most likely make a profit rather than a loss whilst grinding this as you can hearth to Everlook when your inventory is full to mail things, repair and vendor. The amount of Winterfall Spirit Beads you get also means you can get a nice amount of reputation with the Timbermaw Furbolgs.

Currently, you get 250 rep per turn in of the provisions and winterfall quests, and you get 350 rep per turn in for the frostmaul giants quest.
this is 275 and 385 if you are human.
at 1500/300 neutral you will get the quest for the winterfall, and at honored you get the giant quest.
i am currently almost done with honored so i cant confirm if its still 250/350 a turn in at revered but i will post a comment when i know for sure.

If you're a shammy working on getting this mount, I have found that it is incredibly helpful to set your hearth to Everlook. Then you can pick up the quest(s) from Rivern Frostwind at Frostsaber Rock, use your astral recall to get back to Everlook, and run a short distance to Winterfall Village. Once you finish with killing the furbolgs, you can run back to Frostwind, and repeat this process. If you do the giant quest as well you can work it into your route easily by using the hearth to get back to Everlook after you are finished with the giants. It really cuts down on running time because you can hearth back to almost where you need to go every 15 minutes, which makes this tedious grind a lot more lovely and go much faster. That's always a plus! :D

Took me a prolonged weekend (started early Saturday, finished late Monday) to earn 42000 rep, in 4 "runs". After dinging honored, it is advised to ignore the meat quest completely and concentrate on killing the Furbolgs and Giants, which will net you 600 (660) per turn and takes like 20 minutes at Lv 70, so even with breaks for selling trash and sending stuff to your bank char from Everlook, getting 1500-2000 rep per hour isn't a problem if you stay focused and no one else is doing the quest. In addition, killing furbolgs also boosts your Timbermaw reputation and the vast amount of dropped runecloth can be turned in for faction rep as well. As a miner and enchanter, I farmed hundreds of thorium ores and got nice amounts of illusion dust and greater eternals plus a Lifestone (epic trinket) drop, so money-wise it was very rewarding as well.
And of course, being a Human Paladin is a significant plus in finishing the grind.

The mount is compeletely worthless now, congratulations everyone :-/

I think it works out to
~ 3 minutes from Frostsabre to village
~ 6 minutes killing
~ 3 minutes from village to Frostsabre
A little longer if I have to kill Den Watchers to make Shaman spawn

I disagree about this mount losing its worth.
While the quest rewards have had a substantial rep increase when compared to the initial release, it's still a mount to be desired.
I'm currently grinding to get this while at level 60, and I've only encountered one other player with the same goal. And aside from her, I've only encountered one person during my months of playing, with this mount.
I have a couple hours a day to work on the quests, so this grinding is definitely not flying by. I'm thankful there was a reputation increase or I wouldn't even hope of getting this mount for a long, long, long time, which really sucks for those with limited time to work at such things. Now I can set a reasonable goal for myself while keeping my sanity.

Imo it's better to start this as soon as you can, like level 60 or so. Yes it's tedious, but you have to ride the mount until you're 70 and can get a flyer. Wouldn't it be better to ride this around while going to 70? I just started a bit ago, stopped to finish exalted with Timbermaw, but I'm already into honored. Now with all three quests (as a human) I'm going to get 935 rep per round of quests. That's not so bad considering I will get to ride around on one of the coolest mounts. :o)~

This mount is only obtainable after you have reached exalted with the
Wintersaber Trainers
.
The only way to gain reputation with that faction is by completing 3 quests that are listed below. Those quests are only available for alliance, there for, making this mount not obainable to horde players.
Note:
Because of the reputation increase in 2.3 the quests for this mount now award 250-350 reputation.
(FOR NON-HUMANS)
The easiest course to gain exalted for the mount is to do as follows:
Complete:
Frostsaber Provisions
x6
Those quests will give you 1500/3000 rep(Halfway though neutral). At that point, the next quest in the line opens up.
Complete:
Winterfall Intrusion
x 30
Those quests will get you up to 0/6000 (Honored). At that point, the last quest in the line opens up.
Complete:
Rampaging Giants
and
Winterfall Intrusion
together x 55
Those quests will get you up to 0/1000 (Exalted). And you can now buy your mount!
(FOR HUMANS)
Complete:
Frostsaber Provisions
x6
Those quests will give you 1650/3000 rep(Over Halfway though neutral). At that point, the next quest in the line opens up.
Complete:
Winterfall Intrusion
x 27
Those quests will get you up to 75/12000 (Honored). At that point, the last quest in the line opens up.
Complete:
Rampaging Giants
and
Winterfall Intrusion
together x 50
Those quests will get you up to 75/1000 (Exalted). And you can now buy your mount!

Currently being 1010/12000 into honored here are my tips for this quest. You MUST be alliance to do these quests.
The
Wintersaber Trainers
are located in Northern Winterspring and pretty much the point of grinding reputation with them is solely to get
Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber
. Now, pre-BC this mount was extremely hard to get due to the little amount of reputation you would get per quest turn in thus the grind was highly not worth it. Since Burning Crusade came out the reputation has been increased however the mount is still uncommon since people don't find the worth of the grind.
To get started you must find
Rivern Frostwind
(
Note:
he is literally on top of the giant rock at (49,9). You can get up to him from the back of the rock).
Outline of the reputation levels:
Frostsaber Provisions
1500/3000 Reputation:
Winterfall Intrusion
Frostsaber Provisions
Winterfall Intrusion
Frostsaber Provisions
Winterfall Intrusion
Rampaging Giants (Group)
Frostsaber Provisions

Rampaging Giants (Group)
Frostsaber Provisions
Winterfall Intrusion
Rampaging Giants (Group)
Overview of the quests:
Frostsaber Provisions
Repuation:
250 (
Humans:
275)
For this quest you need to collect:
Shardtooth Meat
(5)
Chillwind Meat
(5)
This quest seems pretty straight forward. I suggest killing
Elder Shardtooth
and
Chillwind Ravager
to get these meats. I find a good place to farm these is around (58,19). They have about a 30% drop rate.
Winterfall Intrusion
This quest becomes unlocked at 1500/3000 Neutral
Repuation:
250 (
Humans:
275)
For this quest you need to slay:
Winterfall Shaman
(5)
Winterfall Ursa
(5)
This quest you need to head down to the Winterfall Village (67,36). If you're finding a lack of
Winterfall Ursa
look on the hill behind the camp. Shamans are spawned inside the camp. If you see a lack of them kill what's in there and some will spawn. There is always a shaman with
High Chief Winterfall
.
Rampaging Giants (Group)
This quest becomes unlocked at Honored
Repuation:
350 (
Humans:
385)
For this quest you need to slay:
Frostmaul Giant
(4)
Frostmaul Preserver
(4)
This quest you need to head down to the Frostwhisper Gorge (62,67). And ramp down can be found at (59,64). These have a good spawn rate, pretty evenly mixed. If someone else if farming them you can hear back up and across the bridge to about (62,73) and you'll find more there. These are 60 elites however they are pretty easy to kill (me being a 0,21,40 destro warlock). The only downside to this quest is really the walk.
Tips for farming:
It's always nice to have a friend. This is a really boring grind so it's nice to have someone to do it with.
Riding Crop
or
Skybreaker Whip
are worth it for this grind
Except for the elites, you can pull a few of these a time as a 70 and be okay.
Once you hit honored and you unlock
Rampaging Giants
I would only do that and
Winterfall Intrusion
. The ride is longer but not having to farm the meat with the bad drop rate and the bonus repuation is worth it if you can take the elites.
Don't get discouraged. It seems like it's gonna take forever but it's not as bad as it seems. In one day I'm a bit into honored.
Some math:
Neutral -> Friendly:
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
:
12 trips ---- Humans: 11 trips
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
and adding
Winterfall Intrusion
at (1500/3000):
9 trips --- Humans: 9 (there'll be a bit of leftover)
Friendly -> Honored
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
or
Winterfall Intrusion
:
24 trips ---- Humans: 22 trips
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
and
Winterfall Intrusion
:
12 trips --- Humans: 11
Honored -> Revered
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
or
Winterfall Intrusion
:
48 trips ---- Humans: 44 trips
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
and
Winterfall Intrusion
:
24 trips --- Humans: 22
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
or
Winterfall Intrusion
and
Rampaging Giants
:
20 trips --- Humans: 19
Repeating:
Frostsaber Provisions
and
Winterfall Intrusion
and
Rampaging Giants
:
15 trips --- Humans: 13
Revered -> Exalted
(Same order as above)
84 trips --- Humans: 77
42 trips --- Humans: 39
35 trips --- Humans: 32
25 trips --- Humans: 23
Good luck all!

A few tips I discovered after opening up all 3 quests.
1. If you see any other alliance killing winterall mobs (shammies and ursa's) and/or giants, invite them as the kill quests share. If any of them is a pally, crusader aura's 20% travel increase really speed things up.
2. In Winterfall Village: Always go after the winterfall shammies first. They are the rarest spawns, and there are usually 7 Ursa's on top of the hill anyway.
3. I recommend this simple loop ... hit winterfall village and see if you can knock off the shammies and ursas. If its crowded, don't hang around. Get all the shammies and you can, and go over the mountain to the giants. Finish giants, and come back for the shammies & ursas. Then turn in. Lather, rinse, repeat.
4. The "green" drops at this level sell very well at the Auction House. (excpet for all plans you'll get multiple times). ;-)

Having completed this grind now, I see a few missing details on the spawn points. Here is how the spawns really work so you can maximise shaman spawns. Basically, if it CAN spawn as a shaman, but it hasn't, kill it. There are plenty of guaranteed ursa up top. Waiting for shaman repops is very boring, you WILL have to wait fairly regularly if you don't do this and 'thinning' the herd is easy at 70.
Outside the wall: All den watchers except one. The exception can spawn as a shaman or a den watcher. This is the only one that roams and it will path across the road. Learn to recognize its path and kill it if appropriate.
Lower level: The ones around the huts can spawn as den watchers or shamans. So kill any den watchers that spawn here. There are a few well away from the huts, they only spawn as den watchers so you can ignore them.
Middle level: There are 7 spawn points here. They are either shaman or ursa, so kill any ursa that pop.
Cave: The chief and a shaman spawn here, and occasionally a rare spawn furbolg. Never anything else.
Hilltop level: These are always ursa except for one. The exception is either a den watcher or a shaman. The exception is also the only roamer up here and is generally easy to spot. Kill it if appropriate.

Took me about three days of slack grinding, though with few breaks, watched all episodes of Two and a Half Men along the way hehe :)
If you are an engineer, get

Putting your hearth to Everlook can be a good idea too, though a bit of a pain to get back to Shat.
Kill order for the first 1500 rep is simple, just grind the meat.
Come 1500/3000 and all the way till honored, just grind Winterfall Intrusion.
Once you are honored, you can do winterfall, then giants, then turnin. This gives 600 rep, meaning 55 turnins till exalted, which can probably be done in about 20 hours playing time.
Tip: Kill all ursas and Den watchers at Winterfall, having to wait for a shaman to respawn can be a pain, especially with questers, who don't wanna group up, around. Making the other mobs respawn as shamans is just easier.
Tip: The trek to and from giants can include many cliffs, watch out.

The cave does not contain an ursa, it contains a shaman and the leader of the pack, which does not count toward any wintersaber trainer quest.

I'm currently about 8k into revered and I have to wonder why people stop doing the
Frostsaber Provisions
quest. An earlier post quoted about 8min the
optimal
time for
Winterfall Intrusion
. Frostsaber Provisions gives the same rep and it almost never takes longer than the 8 minutes. For what it's worth I've done all 3 quests all the time (since they became available). My usual route is Frostsaber Rock -> Frostwhisper Gorge -> Winterfall Village -> Run in a straight line back to Frostsaber Rock killing all bears and chimaeras until quest done. One 'round' takes about 20min on average so I'm completing this quest 3 times an hour which comes out as
3*(250+250+350)=2550rep/hr
. Thanks to
Diplomacy
my actual rep gain is a bit higher at 2805rep/hr.
Bottom line: I recommend also doing Frostsaber Provisions all the way into exalted! Sure your net rep gain might not go up that much, but at least it adds some variance into the grind.

I am planning on doing the quest once I hit level 60 not having Burning Crusade yet... If I got a friend that is level 70 to kill the giants when I have the quest and I kill the Ursas and stuff could I possibly turn them both in and get them done quicker? With two people killing different things for the quests or is the range too far?

You have got to be kidding!
Unless blizz has massively changed the drops on the meat (they may have, I stopped farming after exalted), its crazy to bother with the randomness. I've killed 40+ beasts to get the meat for one turnin before. And the time you loose by traveling slower and fighting I find hard to believe can be made up by the additional quest turnin.

I did this rep grind on my warlock in about 20 hours total. Affliction specc'ed...level 70. About 1100 shadow damage. In the 20 hours I never stopped to drink or eat once. Imp out the whole time and dark pact for mana. The siphon life actually returned more life than I lost during the life tap.
I never stopped to cast...just cast on the move....curse of agony, corruption and siphon life...keep running, move to the next mob...by the time I stopped I had 5-6 dead laying around me. Loot them...move onto the next group. Rinse and repeat. 20 hours total...and I did do all the quests, even though there was extra running involved...get a riding crop!
I'd like to thank Jubtik the Manaless.....my imp for all the help :)

This trainer never did anything. He supposedly was the counter part of Alliance Winterspring Frostsaber Trainer but he never gave any Qs to rep up with, nor did he appeard as faction once u talked to him like usual with factions.
Its possible that Blizzard decided not to give Hordes a Ravasaur factions mount after seeing that the Winterspring one was rare and only done by a handful of people on each server
I suspect that the reason why this rep grind mount was never implemented was b/c of the level disparity. Grinding for a L60 mount in a low-50 zone would be too simple. Unless they had you running to Silithus, but that seems a bit excessive.
When you look at Winterspring / EP / Silithus, it's hard to see how you could tie raptor lore into the zone.

As of 3.0.3 the droprate for the meats is over 50%, at least in my own experience. So doing that along with the Intrusions quest is probably faster. Seeing as you'll run into all the mobs you need on your way over to Winterfall Village anyways.
***UPDATE***
Did a timed run, and as a lvl70 Death Knight doing both quests take about 12mins.
This was done using a 100% mount and in Unholy Presence (+15% movement speed)
Which means you can do about 5 runs an hour, at 500rep each. 2500 rep per hour (2750 for humans).

At one time, the cave contained High Chieftain Winterfall, one Ursa and one Shaman. The High Chieftain was an elite, and his two cohorts were nonelites. When they "nerfed" outdoor elites all over the game, the High Chieftain was converted to a non-elite and the Ursa was removed. During patch 2.2.0 (when the person above you posted originally), there was indeed an Ursa. His post was as correct as yours is now.

Just finished this grind for the 2nd time on my shaman. Thats once on a Holy Priest and Elemental Shaman. Joy! I really do like this mount, which must be obvious. I found it much quicker to do all 3 quests instead of just doing the one to kill the furbies. Setting HS to Everlook is a great help. (even better with Astal Recall) Good luck to anyone completing this grind, its tiring but well worth it.

true story about the oldschool mounts :<

I've been currently working on getting this mount. It's really not that bad.
I started soon after I hit level 58, I'm a frost-specced gnome mage. The provisions quest took me about 12-15 minutes each time. After 6 turn-ins, the next quest opened up and I began to do both at once. It takes me about 21-23 minutes to do both quests. At an average of 22 min per 500 rep, that's 42000/500 * 22 = 1848 min total or 30.8 hours.
My technique is to get the quests, jump off the rock (casting slowfall at the end), cast ice barrier, get on my mount (60% speed, I'm only 58) and head straight SW through the tiger area to the chillwinds and shardtooths. Ice barrier usually saves me from getting knocked off my mount, but if I do, I run and blink since it isn't that far.
Once I'm there I gather up as many as I can and I frost nova and blizzard (standard frost mage AOE grind tricks). I use icy veins, cold snap and water elemental as much as possible. As I hunt I slowly head towards the winterfall village. Usually I have enough meat before I get there, but if I don't I continue my hunting on the way back. I'm usually at the village by the time 15min has elapsed. It's usually pretty quick to kill the 5 shamans and ursas provided no one else is farming there (there usually isn't these days).
Once every two hours or so, I use my hearthstone which is set to Everlook to sell all the loot I've picked up and mail all the greens and leather and recipes to an alt. The time it takes to do this is balanced out by the time I save by porting directly from the wintersaber rock to Everlook (which is right near the winterfall village).
I should note that I have herbalism and skinning and I've been skinning every chillwind and shardtooth I've killed and picked every icecap and mountain silversage I've seen and I'm still making good time. I estimate I've made about 250gold (including leather AH sales) so far too and I just hit honored rep (9,000rep so far or 21% done).
I'm not sure if I will do the third quest yet (I just hit honored and I haven't tried it). I'll see how hard it is and how much time it adds to my routine.
Also, I started this at 58, which is the youngest you can start this quest and I've gained a little over a level so far. I know it would probably be much quicker at 60+ and with an epic mount but it's not that bad and it's nice to think that I can save the 600g for epic mount training until level 70. I estimate I have about 24 hours left and so I should finish sometime next week.
Edited to add that since I'm not 60 yet, I can't get the third quest yet so I'm going to have to keep doing the first two at least until I hit 60 which will probably be about the time that I get to revered.

EDIT:
It took me four days total from 10 am to 10 pm at night every day to get Exalted
. Granted that I had to go sometimes to raid with my guild or something of the like on my main. On the alt I got it, I am currently a Lvl 71 Human frost mage.
Provions and Intrusion
will give humans
275 rep
per turn in. When you hit honored you will be able to do the
Rampaging Giants
and that gives us
385 rep
per turn in. I did all three because it's just so much rep, and if you do it efficiently then you won't spend more than half and hour (if even that, I spent a little under 20 mins per 3 sets of turn ins from riding to and from Frostsaber rock with no riding buffs) on a set of three... but that also depends if you can one shot the non elite mobs and 2 hit (maybe even one shot) the elite ones. Now if you're a frost mage like myself, then doing Rampaging is pretty rediculous, but we do have arcane and fire spells so it ain't so bad-- a little slow if anything because we aren't spec'd that way, haha.
You don't even have to worry about the spawn rate if you do it like this because by the time you are done with one quest, the things that people killed before for the other quests would've already respawned-- and in any case, the spawn rate is pretty quick, IMO.
Towards the last turn in there were just too many people doing the Winterfall Intrusion, so I just did Provisions twice--
and now I have myself the pride of all that is purple in this game! ^.^
Anyway, I'd say if you can't stand doing repetitive tasks and you just want it to boast and it's not really your favorite of your mounts-- then this ain't the mount for you. If you desperately love purple and tigers, and to have them in one
and
you have
all the patience in the world,
or you
really
and
truly
want that mount achievement... then have fun grinding! Haha.

Even so,was most boring, tedious rep grind I ever did.

I did this quest for no reason. I really don't know why because I'm playing a death knight at the moment and the archerus deathcharger is a perfectly fine mount.
After I quested my way into friendly I started to read the comments on here and I thought "how crazy am I?" because getting this mount will take a loooong time.
I started out as a level 61 death knight and I have to say: don't do this quest if you don't have a fast mount. You are riding most of the time and I'm really thankful that I had the deathcharger. And I know that I won't do this with my druid until he has a fast mount.
And I don't know IF I will do this with my druid.
All the grinding got me to level 63, I gained around 300g (without the gold the greens and blues will bring in the AH) and i collected 300 Winterfall Spirit Beads.
And there are a lot of people that probably hate me on my server because the Winterfall camp was always very crowded.
I would recommend doing the giant quests to if you are in the same level range as I was because you gain some experience and, at least on my server, nobody seems to care for them.
Good luck everybody with doing this.
And thanks to everybody that is writing helpful comments on wowhead.

My rogue did this before the rep nerf. Took from level 58 to 62 and I spent a lot on buffs when I first started the elite giants quests. Didn't get to go to Outlands and gear up that whole time. Even now that we're in Northrend I still get whispers about my pretty kitty...
My level 80 shammie is doing it now. What a difference. I'm only about 58 intrusion/giants quests from getting it.
My advice is to drop the meat quests as soon as the giants become available. You can do two circuits of both intrusion and giants in the time it will take you to complete one meat quest.
Side bonus is Timbermaw Hold rep. You get about 200 from killing the shamans and ursas, then more for the beads they drop.

Okay, here goes... please try to keep the flammage to a controllable level. *Deep breath*
I believe the quests, and in turn the mount, should be made available to Horde players. Why, you ask? Two simple reasons, although the second is, in my opinion, the much more important one.
1. They were going to implement a Horde-varient in Un'Goro crater with a Horde-only spiffy Raptor mount. As we all are well aware, that has of yet not come to pass. Doesn't particularly seem fair that there's one ultra-spiffy mount that is Alliance-only. FYI: I play both Alliance and Horde.
2. C'mon, its in the shadow of Mt. Hyjal, where THE most pivitol battle against the Legion in Azeroth took place; where both the Horde and the Alliance stood united against the might of the demonic Burning Legion and killed one of its top generals, Archimonde. Its such an important piece of Warcraft history that there's even a Caverns of Time instance for it. You would think there would be a small something, anything, commemorating that fact. I know its the World of WARcraft, but there have been heroes and villains on BOTH sides. Its never just as simple as the "Noble Alliance" vs the "Evil Horde". Greatest humanitarian ever: Thrall. Greatest villain ever: Arthas. Those two are but a minute sample of the less-than-simple history of Azeroth. That place, and its history, and the history of both the Alliance and the Horde is steeped in so much awesome lore, that the least Blizz could do is offer a small token commemorating 10+ years of Warcraft awesomeness, and allow such a brilliant and gorgeous mount to be available to both factions in memory of that lore.

Has anyone ever thought about having a warlock and two extra people stationed at the quest giver and another warlock and two more people stationed at Winterfall Village and summoning one player back and forth?
The only problem I can think of with this would be finding 6 people willing to dedicate the time to do this. Of course, if you are all really dedicated you can get every member of the team exalted (you would need 3 warlocks for that).
Now if only I had friends...

I havent read anything specifically saying it will be made easier again, but unless the grind for the new horde raptor in Un'goro is just as time consuming, I'd imagine they would be trying to make the two as even as possible.
Any feedback on the difficulty of achieving the new raptor on the ptr? or if I missed it being said somewhere that this grind would definitely remain the same?

No changes have been made to the alliance mount it will still take players 2-3 months to obtain the mount

As the above posters have said, there's no Achievement or Feat of Strength for this. But that's okay, people who do this grind are in it for the mount anyway. And yes for you Hunters who like your pets to be pretty, keep your eyes open for Rak'shiri, a beautiful azure-tinted rare spawn.
I started this grind as soon as I dinged 60. I waited until 60 instead of starting at 58, so I'd have my epic mount. This really isn't a big deal for the initial quest, as there are mobs who drop the Meat are close by. But by the time you start hitting Winterfall Village - and certainly Frostwhisper Gorge - another 40% boost to your travel speed will really make a difference!
It took me a large part of one weekend to finish the grind; Started on a Friday night, grinded a bit, logged. Came back Saturday morning and spent the day grinding (it was a loooooong day), logged. Sunday morning for a couple of hours, finished up.
It wasn't bad at all...It's tedious and repetitive and you're going to hate snowy landscapes by the time you're done, but it isn't the worst grind I've ever done, not by a long shot. The worst part was having to contend with every level 80 on the damn server trying to either do the same grind, or get their Timbermaw trinket.
(I'm not sure what doing something 22 levels, 5 Tier sets and 2 expansions below you is supposed to prove, but oh well.)
That reminds me...if you're thinking of getting Exhalted with Timbermaw Hold, you can very easily do so just by doing the Wintersaber grind. I got my Trinket before I ever got my mount.
Also, running to and from the quest-giver you will often be attacked. If you're doing this in a level-appropriate range, expect a lot of attention from the nearby cats. Every trip.
Anyway, I was level 64 (midway to 65) before I finished. The quests themselves give no XP, but the mobs (especially the Elite giants) give great XP. Even at 64 I was pulling in well over 500 per kill, non-rested. And they are easily soloable.
Not to mention if you have a gathering profession (or two) you can make a killing on Icecap, Thorium, and Rugged Leather. Plus the mobs drop a lot of vendor trash (you'll need to hit Everlook once in a while to empty your bags), the furbolgs drop money and Runecloth, the Elite giants drop a lot of money (and a lot of Frost Protection Potion recipes, lol) and the occasional BoE blue or epic. So don't fret over missing out on Outland loot or XP or gold. You're not going to we wearing anything from Hellfire for long anyway, the XP from the mobs you kill is excellent (the levels will fly by), and you'll rake in plenty of money.
If you're leveling an Alliance character that is still in Azeroth and you're considering going for one of these mounts, I encourage you to go for it. Don't be a slacker and wait until 80; Start doing it at 60 (or even 58 if you're truly patient). Then go back to Ironforge and mock all the 80's who think they're special for doing what you did 20 levels sooner.
It's especially nice while you're sitting at the mailbox collecting all your AH earnings. =)
Finally a couple of notes to cut your travel time...you can set your Hearthstone to Everlook. With the cooldown change from one hour to 30 minutes, it can save you a little time. Those of you two-boxing with the RaF thing, park your RaF partner by the quest-giver and you'll have an instant-port across the zone once per hour. If you're level 69 or 70, bring a Riding Crop. Level 68 or under, do the Spurs/Riding Skill/Carrot thing. Trust me, you'll want to shave every second of travel time you can.
A helpful map can be found over on wowwiki; just look up Wintersaber Trainers. Their Timbermaw reputation grind guide is also good.
Good luck!

I advise you start doing the long and boring quests at level 59,it makes it easier to get skills and you get tons of EXP from killing the mobs...as previously stated you can get a ton of money from the stuff the hostile enemies drop

As mentioned before, make sure you do the quest
Winterfall Activity
before starting this grind! By having that quest completed, you can pick up a lot of Winterfall Spirit Beads, just from killing those Ursas and Shamans.
I personally did
Timbermaw Ally
and
Winterfall Activity
, before starting this grind. I've been doing all the Wintersaber quests on every round (drops are currently not bad at all, taking only a minute or two to complete), and I just hit revered with Wintersaber.
I've been killing the entire Winterfall camp every round, instead of just going for 5 Ursas and Shamans, and I hit revered with Timbermaw with just over 300 beads in my pocket. That's almost enough to cross from revered to exalted with Timbermaw. Saves yourself a secondary grind :)

On the PTR for patch 3.2, I believe the ravasaur for the horde is a reward for a simple quest chain. Does anyone know if this mount will be easier to get also come the next patch?

for those who enjoy multitasking:
do not ignore the beads that drop from the furbolgs! they can be turned in for timbermaw rep.
but here's what no one told me:
after you hit revered with the timbermaw, you no longer get rep from grinding on them. you will only get the rep from turning in the beads to salfa!
so pick those suckers up while you are grinding for your mount! i was collecting them all along and turning them in occassionally, but it surprised me to see i was no longer getting rep from killing them after i reached revered. i would have kept the beads for revered only. turning them in before that can be a waste.
(i hit exalted and got my mount yesterday, then rode up to salfa and turned in 325 beads i had collected and hit exalted with the timbermaw in the same stretch!)

I got this FoS today, oktober 6, patch 3.2.2 (10505), on a EU server.
I was suprised I got it, I thought it was available only
before
3.2. Reason I got it might be that I started the rep grind 3 years ago?
Highly recomended, all 3 quests when you get them, even in grp. Grping is very good for killing the teddys(and spirit beads for timbermaw rep if you are'nt exalted) and giants(sometimes far apart). Meat not so much, but its a fast kill and lots of Rugged Leather.
10-20mins a lap with all 3 quests. Set HS to Everlook, if you are a Scribe, you have that Scroll of Recall aswell, and if you have the Dalaran ring, it's just sweet. Took 16h or less. Tons of Runecloth, alot of greens and meat, made close to 1K gold buy selling all to vendors, and AH(but thats just cuz my server is like that).
Tips on teddys:
Be in a grp(spread out), learn where the teddys spawn, kill all you see for quicker respawns, park pets at respawn points(on aggro), set traps on respawn points. Teddys are also up on the ridge above the village.
Tips on Giants:
Go right before the bridge, 2 giants, go down. You should have 4 of each now, and no need to go over the bridge. Avoid going near the edge of the cliffs, easy to slipp off.

On an average run, I found the following:
Winterfall Intrusion + Frostsaber Provisions = 15 minutes * 500 rep = 2000 rep/hr
Winterfall Intrusion + Frostsaber Provisions + Rampaging giants = 20 minutes * 850 rep = 2550 rep/hr
Winterfal Intrusion + Rampaging Giants = 12 minutes * 600 rep = 3000 rep/hr
In other words, ditch the Frostsaber Provisions and you will pull an extra 450 rep per/hr, which is not too shabby. The worst thing is to have to run the provisions on the way out and the way back, which eats up tons of time. The rest is consistent, but the provisions are too variable.
Set your hearthstone to Everlook and you'll save about 4 minutes per hour, which is not much, but gains you an extra 450 rep every 3 hours.
I just run straight to Winterfall, kill 'em all, then to the giants and then all the way back to the Rock. 12 minutes round trip.
If you do this run for an hour a day, in 10 days you've gained an extra 4500 rep, which is the equivalent of 1.5 hours of grinding. Do it!

Got mine a day before 3.3 came out and it felt great! After getting it done, I have to say that I am in awe of those players who completed the original rep grind. It's not too bad now, took me about a week to get from Neutral to Exalted. As many have said, put your hearth at Everlook (helps if you also have an Argent Crusader tabard if you need to get to Northrend) and just do the quests every bit of free time you have.
The only problems I ever really had were competing for the Winterfall mobs with other players. If I saw the village was being farmed, I would keep moving south to get the Rampaging Giants done. On the way back I would check the village again and kill nearby mobs for the Frostsaber Provisions. A lot of people have said to stop doing Frostsaber Provisions after you hit honored but I disagree. It serves as a useful "filler" quest to work on as you're moving up and down the zone, waiting for respawns and such.
Good luck!

I did this grind once in the "50 rep" days and once after they bumped it to 250 rep. You young whippersnappers will have it much easier farming this mount once Cataclysm comes out and you'll be able to fly back and forth between the furbies, giants, and frostsaber rock. :)

. Was a tough grind but i did it :) Pressing complete quest on the last turn in was probably one of the best feelings i've had ;P BTW i suggest skipping the 3rd repeatable where you're supposed to kill the yeti's. I don't have the time to calculate if it's quicker like that but that's how i did it :)

I found this guy and began doing the quests, each completion giving me 275 rep with "Windsabre Trainers." There is no notaion in my reputaion window for this faction, so I guess I'm going to have to keep my own score. After four completes at this writing, i should be 1100/3000, Neutral. I've found no other references or quests for this faction....bummer!

So if you transfer from Alliance to Horde, this will turn into a venomhide.
However your Wintersaber rep is gone forever. Switching back will get you the winterspring mount, but you will be neutral with the trainers.
Both sides have the same number of factions, but Tranquillien (sp?) is a much easier grind. For that matter getting the venomhide is much easier than grinding rep with these trainers.

For my past 20 runs on the provisions, the drop rate is now around 10%, or 100 kills, (3 1/2 stacks of rugged leather plus warbear, thick, etc.). Better to avoid the provisions, far too time consuming.

This is one of the most beautiful land mounts in the game, I feel very sorry for Horde players who can't have it.
But for Alliance players who are up to the task here's how I did it without going nuts:
As many other grindings in the game, this one is particularly very long and exhaustive for two reasons: you start with only one quest to gain reputation and the drop rate for the quest items is not so great. And the quests you can complete once friendly/honored require you to go to quite far away places in order to be completed (
this
and
this
). So my advice is: stablish a number, it can be X reputation or Y runs, and do it every day. By no means try to do as many runs as you can in one single day, it will make you tired, bored and possibly angry at Blizz. I suggest trying to earn 3000 reputation per day, that way it will take you 17 days (assuming no bonus reputation gain) to get your mount assuming you are 0/3000 neutral.
Happy grinding.

This mount, is amazing. The rep grind is not what its all set up to be, even though I play a DK + human, it didnt actually take as long as I expected. However, if your one of those people who just start a rep grind, get up to honored and then just leave and go do your daileys, this grind is going to take awhile. If you dont like the tiger, dont get it. Probably the reason I found it easy is because most people give it a try and give up within the first couple of quests, which they dont seem to relise are the hardest ones! The first one is to collect meat from the bears and they chimeras. The drop rate for me was not as bad as people made it seem, it was mostly 1:3 drop rate, which i felt was easy with my AoEs :P, second is the furlbog one. The Ursas are in a huge group on the hill side, to the right if you enter from the main gate, the hard part is the shamans, these can be found on the hill to the right + left. Third is the elites, which is easily soloable. My loop was to run strait to the elites, go down into the valley from a 'ditch' thing on the right side before the bridge, and if your missing one go up and cross the walkway and just take out the ones you need near the ridge. After that loop back and knock out all bears/chimeras you see on the way, all the while heading to the furlbog camp. Do that quest and then head towards the quest giver and get the rest of the meat on the way.
It probably took maybe, 10-20 mins per run, and that was with a 100% mount, so if your using a flying mount (310% obviously the best) then you are going to rock this grind down so much quicker than the rest of us who did it pre-cata.
Tip: Dk's get on a pale horse, it works so well.
All other classes get any movement speed upgrades as you can!
There are low levels doing quests for the furlbogs, and other people grinding, theres no point competing, just /inv to group and then leave when your doing the meat quest.
Best thing was when the whole guild was around and I got the achieve and they all were saying omfg as If id done something wrong...
Lazy people.

I just finished this grind which took me 2 weeks to complete doing it off and on. I sat for hours and finished up it up from Revered to Exhalted. The grind wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but the limited amount of Winterfalls to kill was annoying. I just wish Blizzard would make the spawn rate of them faster or make them spawn in other locations. Other than that I'm glad I finally have this beautiful mount.

this past week i as well finished up this quest chain and am now the proud owner of my own Frostsaber and all I have to say is I am glad I did there were times I wanted to give up but I would look at my desktop which has Rivern and Glacier and realize it is worth it. The worst part would be killing the Winterfalls when the realm was full and it seemed as if everyone in Winterspring was doing the quest. All in all it is one quest chain I will not forget doing in a long time.

Finally got my pretty purple kitty earlier tonight, and it is by far the meanest rep grind I've done. (The Wintersabers made 33 exalted factions for me...) Here's a tip to make the grind a bit faster, even if it's still tedious:
KILL EVERYTHING.
Okay, not quite, but the giants in the southern portion of the map are a very nice boost in rep each turn-in, and at level 80 are almost TOO easy to kill. However, you need four each of Preservers and Giants, and I found that every time I killed only what I needed, a disproportionate number of giants would spawn, leaving me needing one or two kills of one kind, but an excess of six or seven of the other kind. Trust me, kill 'em all. It's an extra thirty seconds of time that saves you a lot more in the long run, because they have a freaking long spawn time. Also be sure to check the cliff ledges overlooking the chasm on the north side. Four or five of them will spawn up there, which just might be enough to pad out your kill count if you're short. I would run down there first, get my kills, hit the furbolgs, get the meat, turn in, and run back, by which time they'd have repopulated.
For the Winterfall furbolgs, slaughter any Den Watchers that you see. Most places that a Watcher will spawn is a potential Shaman spawn point, and only a few of those spawn in the camp. (Rarely, one will spawn on the high hilltop with the line of Ursas, but don't count on it.) There will ALWAYS be one Shaman with High King Winterfall, and capping him also nets you double the rep that the others do, as well as a guaranteed Winterfall Firewater, which is either useful immediately or will sell quite handsomely on the Auction House.
I found the giant and meat quests the easiest to grind, as too often I found myself short a Shaman due to other players leveling and questing in the zone. If you encounter that, just walk away and work the other quests for a bit. I've found that after turning in the meat and giant kills with the quest-giver, the village is empty once more and free for me to merrily pwn. Don't stress and freak out about it, just move on for now.
Bonus: you will get MAD Timbermaw rep while doing this, easily putting you into Honored. SAVE THOSE BEADS! As has been pointed out earlier, you no longer get rep for kills at Revered, so hunt away until Revered, and then turn in your massive stash 'o beads for something like 300 rep for 5 beads. (330 for a human, so I'm guessing.) I had over 250 beads when I started talking to Salfa, and ended up at about 17k of 21k rep. If my late-night, exhausted mental math is right, I think I need another fifty or sixty beads and I'm exalted with them, which will thus earn me the Diplomat title. Totally. Freakin'. Worth it. Good luck and good hunting to you all, and just be patient! You'll get there, enjoy the ride. ...Pun intended. :)

As a Horde player, I really envy Alliance for having this mount. Our Ravasaur really doesn't compete with the looks of this mount.
Considering how many raptors we, horde players, have available, and the long grind required for this mount, I would feel that this mount should be available to Hordies and the Ravasaur to be available to Alliance players. (I'm sure they've got enough tigers themselves)

The, without a doubt, most time consuming part of this grind is all the running back and forth.

Not only has the meat drop rate gone WAY up, the respawn rates are much better and the rep for each quest is way higher. Right. So I decided I was bored and thought; "Hei, that wintersaber mount would be sweet in a (my) shaman, let's see wowhead and grab the starting quest"
With the reputation increases implemented some patches ago (or even 3.0), turning over quests now gives you 250rep per turn-in.
So that's:
- 12 turn-in's until friendly.
- 24 more until honored.
- 48 more until Revered.
- 84 more until Exalted.
= 168 turn-in's.
This calculation was made only regarding the initial quest Frostsaber Provisions. I'm not sure if the quests above Friendly rep give you more rep per turn-in or not. I'm note sure mostly because I didn't go that far...
...In the end I re-decided I wasn't that bored, even with only 168 turn-in's

I started this, yesterday, with my 80 night elf hunter, cause I wasn't sure if it'll be there after the Cataclysm. In about 3 hours, or a bit more, and countless of turn-in's, I got from neutral to friendly. Ofcourse, the quests are cake at 80, it's the terrain, and running back and forth. There is an elite taurren who walks around, and tried to beat on my night elf, while she was doing the meat turn in quest. When I tried shooting back, the taurren said, "let's not make each other enemies." and walked away.
The rep grind isn't bad. The worst rep grind in the game was for my dwarf to be exalted with Darnassus. That was vicious, also the Settis Sky guy where you get the nether ray flying mount. Also, I am getting timbermaw rep. A long time ago, I accidently killed a few of their own, so I am hated with the timbermaw. So I'll be at it today, when I should be camped to get the spirit beast tamed.

I was about to start grinding for this mount, but then i realized, from what I know this mount and reputation faction stays the same in Cataclysm. Then this would be a much easier grind to do because of allowed flying mounts in the old world. With 310% flying speed and avoiding the land terrain this will then be much faster.

This grind has changed considerably with the most recent patch - Chillwind and Shardtooth meat now have 100% drop rates, Winterfall Shaman and Ursa respawn at a much faster rate and have replaced the old Den Watchers, and the Frostmaul quest is gone. Rep gains are still 250 each, but with the amount of time you'll spend farming so much lower, you can easily pull over 3000 rep/hour.

I spent a lot of time grinding this on my Hunter from level 58 to 60. It was well worth the time spent on it, but I haven't been able to repeat the grind on other characters. My Hunter has since turned Horde and my purple tiger turned into a raptor. :( Now I ride around on my Black War Talbuk because I just don't like the raptor. Horde's mount isn't unique enough in comparison to other raptors as this purple tiger is in comparison to the Night Elf mounts.
I prefer Horde's way of getting the mount, though. Raising a baby tiger to an adult to use as a mount would be so much cooler than a rep grind.

Patch 4.0.3 made this mount even easier to get. If you're just starting this grind then lucky you! I got mine a few days after 4.0.3, but compared to what it was like way back when( 75 (or some obnoxiously low number) rep per quest? Low meat drop rates? Yikes.) it was pretty darn easy so I didn't complain during this grind- much. :P
TIPS:
The furblog slaying quest can be very annoying when others are grinding too. **GET THE QUEST FROM THE TIMBERMAW STANDING JUST OUTSIDE WINTERFALL VILLAGE. ONE OF THEM HAS A QUEST THAT ASKS YOU TO DESTROY WINTERFALL TOTEMS. DESTROYING THE TOTEMS RESETS THE AREA AND IN A FEW MINUTES SEVERAL FURBLOGS WILL RESPAWN AROUND THE TOTEM** I wish I had of figured it out sooner, would have saved me a little time :)

As the poster above mentioned there is a quest to destroy "Winterfall Earth Totems" if you are planning to farm Wintersaber Trainer reputation pick up this quest but
DON'T
hand it in.
You will need the item from that quest to fix the spawn points because if you kill the Shaman's and not get rid of the totem it effectively blocks the spawning of any Shaman's/Ursa in that immediate area which makes Shaman's often become very scarce.
Unfortunately for me I completed the quest without realizing there was a problem with the totems but occasionally low leveled players would run through the camp while doing the quest and clear a few of the totems.

Fastest route to grinding rep in 4.0+? Here's how I did it.
Each quest turn-in for the Wintersaber trainer is 250 rep now. The giant quest that becomes available at honored yields 350 rep.
The starter quest,
Frostsaber Provisions
, is to kill the nearby bears and chimaeras for meat. 5 of each. Back in the day, the drop rate for this meat was around 1:3 or 1:4; now they are 100% drop rate, so guaranteed if you kill a bear or chimaera.
Once you hit 1500/3000 friendly rep, you're offered a second quest to kill the wintersaber furbolgs,
Winterfall Intrusion
. Specifically, 5 shaman and 5 ursas each.
I saw a lot of posts saying that once you're offered the second furbolg quest that it's so much easier to grab both and do both for 500 rep turn-in at a time to make things go faster. I began to question this and grabbed the in-game stopwatch to test it.
1. It took me 8:31 to do the bears + chimaeras quest
twice
including pick-up and turn-in time for 500 rep.
2. It took me 12:51 to do the bears + chimaeras quest AND the furbolg quest to turn-in for 500 rep.
Firstly, it takes longer (even with a flying mount, etc.) to fly to the furbolg village than it does to fly a tiny bit south/SE of the quest giver to the bears and chimaeras. Then I found the problem to be that the shaman are a lot more "rare" than the ursas. Sometimes I'd show up and there'd be 1 shaman amongst 10 ursas. I'd kill them all, in hopes to spawn more shaman, but have to wait around or run around a lot to get them all. However, there is a quest called
Turning the Earth
given by the furbolg named Tanrir who stands just outside of winterfall village, in which you destroy the earth totems inside the village. This then resets the spawns and almost always spawns new shaman there
eventually
. BUT you're still at the mercy of the shaman spawn rate when I could have already done the bears + chimaeras quest twice. While the quest to destroy totems makes the shaman spawn rate a bit better, it's still further away and lots of people quest in that village for other reasons, too... whereas I'd never have to hunt for the creature mobs and they were closer to the quest giver. This makes it take potentially longer to do the furbolg quest...
at least until you hit honored.
Now that the drop rate for the meat is 100%, it's simply much faster to just keep repeating the bears + chimaeras quest right by the quest giver for rep
until you hit honored
than it is to grab both and do both together.
Once you hit honored and can kill giants
, I used the totem method in winterfall village to destroy totems on my route, and between flying down to giants and back up, I'd get all the shaman I needed and destroy more totems on my way out so that there'd be plenty spawned the next time I came by. Once you "finish" the totem destroying quest, you can no longer use the item (I think it even disappeared from my inventory), so abandoning the quest and grabbing it again allows you to keep destroying totems as needed continuously during your grind. Don't turn it in until you're done with the grind so you can keep using that trick.
My route after I hit honored was to grab all three quests. I'd fly down to the giants and kill them. While down there, I'd also conveniently kill 5 of the bears that were mixed in with the giants for the 5 bear meat. Then I'd fly north and stop at winterfall village on the way to kill furbolgs, destroy any totems so that I'd have shaman spawned for my next trip, and then fly north towards the quest giver and grab 5 chimaeras on the way to turn in. Rinse, repeat. It took me 2-3 days of grinding to hit exalted. Once you hit honored and can do all three quests, doing the three quest circuit is a total of 850 rep. I was able to complete my circuit in an average of 15 minutes, depending on how many mining nodes I hit along the way that distracted me.
The grind was definitely worth it to me. As a skinner and miner, I skinned all of the bears and chimaeras and found loads of thorium along the way, which netted me
a lot
of cash. Bonus: if you're into the Timermaw rep, killing the furbolgs yielded me 20 rep each towards Timbermaw + they dropped beads that I turned in for Timbermaw rep, too. Doing this grind and moving to furbolgs at honored when I picked up the giant quest gave me enough beads for turn in plus rep to hit exalted with the Timbermaw, too. Turning in beads yields 2k rep per 5 beads now, despite wowhead still saying that it's 500 rep per 5.
Good luck!

first of all, sorry to guys who farmed this mount years ago,now things are changed, farmed this guy in 2 days with guild perk 10% rep
quest starts from night elf guy Riven Frostwind. When you hit friendly, you will get quest to kill furbolgs.Thats 2 quests, each 250rep 262 with perk.
Reachin honored or revered, cant remember exactly will give you third quest.
after geting all 3 quests i did a little research.Frostsaber provision quest can be done in 2 minutes which gives you 250 rep.
after that i did 3 quests alltogether, which took me about 12-20 mins if i am lucky (usually there is few people farming furbolgs and giants) 250+250+350 = 850 rep in 15min average,so you see what is faster :P
cba to count further cause im not that math expert and forgot half of things to say,but this is for sure the fastest way to farm rep for this beauty.

Best race/class combo in my opinion for this mount is probably a Night Elf frostmage with blue hair. Well lucky me, that is EXACTLY what my main is and I am already revered with the wintersaber trainers.

Just got it last night, and it seems like things have changed again, lately. The first two quests gave 275 rep per turn in, and the giants' quest 385 - that's 930 rep per cycle.
I found that the giants didn't respawn very quickly, so I skipped that one once every 3 cycles. If there aren't enough, don't wait for them to respawn - just skip that quest this run and do it next time, or you'll lose a lot of time.
In the furbolg village it seemed like killing the mobs on the hill to the south caused mobs to respawn in the village - I had no real problems finding shamans doing the hill first, then the village, then the hill again and so on.
In the area between the village and the questgiver it's not hard to find a route that will allow you to chain-kill the bears and then the chimeras without the need to mount up.
On a 310% mount one cycle including the giants took about 8 minutes - expect to see more of these gorgeous sabers!

I ran this route for months, making sure I did not go utterly insane. It helped to be a level 80-85 for the entire run.
Here are some tips:
1. Be a human character.
1a. If you cannot be a human character, see if you can wheedle your way into a large guild to get the rep. buff.
2. If you are running this during the Thanksgiving festival, there is a reputation buff. You have to stuff yourself at the
table in some particular way. Man, that saved me a lot of time pre-guild rep buff.
The nice thing about #2 was that it forced me to be reasonable. Each day of the festival, I did this once and stopped grinding when the buff wore off.
3. You must have a flying mount. The giants provide a 350 rep benefit and appear to be reachable only by a flying mount.
Here was how I did it once I got to all three quests:
1. Pick up and drop off (like the Car Talk guy's driver) with the crazy cat man.
2. Grab the three quests.
3. Fly to the chillwind bat things and get your lewts to feed the kitties. Do not stop for bears.
4. Go to the furry thing settlement and kill everything in sight. You probably won't get all your shamans.
5. Harass the giant things. If you are a miner, you can mine them, but the drop rate on good things is not really worth it.
6. Kill your bears while harassing the giants. Collect lewts for the kitties.
7. The second you are done killing giants, hit the settlement on the way back to pick up stray furry people, hit the chillwind valley if you are short on bear meat for the kitties.
8. If you see other level 85s farming the village, find another faction to rep grind on. It is not worth the delays.
8a. If you see low levels questing there, let them have the mobs.
If you only have two quests, then just do those :D
More to consider:
If you are serious about this grind, become a miner. Why? Thorium. Why? Darkmoon Faire Rep and tickets. All of the cloth drops are runecloth. You use the thorium and runecloth to make thorium widgets. My main is the pet/mount/achievement collector and is too high a level to benefit from DMF rep. However, my other 'toons are not. I had my rogue ported to Shattrath with bags brimming with thorium widgets (and pelty things from leveling her in Hillsbrad). She went to 2500+ Friendly rep in her very first visit to the Faire.

You can ride down to them easily. This quest has been available since vanilla, when there was no old world flying.
A flying mount makes the grind much easier however.

With a flying mount there is no need to do any other quest then
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4970
Did some runs yesterday just for fun, and the quest above took at avarage 2:40min to complete @ lvl85 with a 280% flying mount.
At the same time it took to do all three quests i managed to complete a little more then 4 runs of the first mentioned.
If its 250 rep per quest (if none human and none guild rep awards) can be achived in 3min flat and 42000rep is the total needed the amount of time just repeating this quest would be (as of today) 42000/250*3/60=8h 15min

Some changes are coming for the aquirement of this mount in 4.1.0. making it pretty much the same as the
Venomhide Ravasaur
.
This change will lower the overall time it takes to aquire the mount but will also make it take no less than 20 days to complete. All the current quests are being replaced by a new
Main quest
and a few random daily quests of which you can only recieve and complete one per day.
The main quest will ask you to raise a
Winterspring Cub
.
Every day your Winterspring Cub will give you one of a few different daily quests. When completed you will recieve a
Winterspring Cub Whisker
.
After having collected 20 cub whiskers you hand those in together with 20x
Rugged Leather
, 20x
Runecloth
and 80
gold
to
Rivern Frostwind
to recieve your now fully grown
Winterspring Frostsaber
.
These daily quests do not appear to give reputation towards the
Wintersaber Trainers
on the current PTR-build, making you unable to become exalted with them for the time being.

I respectfully disagree with the later part of your comment. With 310% speed mount and crusader aura, I do the
Frostsaber Provisions
in
3
minutes, from accepting to turning in for 300 rep (human + guild perk rank 2). That's 900 rep in 9 minutes. Even if you do the whole 3 quest circuit in 15mins (mine took 25 mins because preservers didn't respawn), my approach netted me more rep gain per hour, almost 6K per hour.
The only risk is losing your sanity after doing the same quest (42000/300)=140 times.
Edit: I found out that there's a new quest given by a furblog just outside the Winterfall camp that ask you to use a device on some totems. This will instantly spawn 2-3 Ursas or Shamans. That makes
Winterfall Intrusion
a good option. I could do the first two quests in 5 minutes which cut my grind by 16%.

This is really a breeze to do now. With the ability to fly now, you can literally do it in a day. The drop rates for the 2 meats are 100% and there are a couple more shaman now. The giants are easy as well provided you can down them easily. Simply start on one of the sides of the ridge where they spawn and run all the way across to the other side and you'll get your kills. With the guild rep gain I was able to get 935 rep(honored through exalted) per trip back to the trainer. Humans will be able to get even more.
There is also a fun little achievement that you can complete in the area while doing the quests its called
E'ko Madness

I obtained this mount on my Priest at lvl 70. I'd trained before at 60 and didn't feel like spending months and months to get it back them so I give respect to those who got this mount back in vanilla. It took me about a week of doing these quests to get this mount. The drop rates are way better. I would grab the three quests, then run a circle completing them until I had all of them done. I did this for about 6 hours a day, for bout 5-6 days and finally got the mount. This rep grind will be cut in half now because of the 10% rep increase from guild. More people are going to have this mount. I believe this is kinda lame for those who obtained it back in vanilla. I think blizzard should compensate for the time the put into getting this mount back then. Anyway, love this mount. I've heard people say the new mount looks are much better, I disagree. I love the way this mount looks. It reminds me of the epic night-saber mounts back in vanilla. The ones with no armor. =) miss those! So I love this mount!

After procrastinating for a looooong time I finally got this on my mage.
I was at 10,000/12,000 honored...almost revered and I read the patch notes. Got a few thousand a couple days ago and managed 20K today.
I got this mount on my lock 2 years ago..in 16 hours....and I've gotten the horde mount in the 20 days...but I didn't want to give up the rep I'd gotten on my mage...so I did the grind...before the patch hit.
level 70 mage, ice lanced, fire blast everything...5-6 minutes for the closest quests and about 1/2 through I skipped the giants quest as I found the flying time lost actual rep/time as it would take me 13-15 minutes total. I could complete the other two faster.
Complete this while you can...probably not much time left!

If you plan on doing the wintersaber rep grind, pick up the quest:
大地之怒
, which you get just outside winterfall village.
The reason, the quest item
塔尼尔的过载图腾
can be used to respawn the two types of mobs you need for the winterfall intrusions quest.
When you destroy a totem in the village, another one will spawn almost immediately. If one doesn't, kill another and it will force a spawn. When the totems spawn they will also force spawn either the totemics or den watchers. You can be in and out in under a minute and never have to worry about waiting for a re-spawn again.

Venomhide Ravasaur
. Note thing to note though, I was already at Exalted with the Wintersaber trainers pre patch and when I talked to the trainer, he still had the mount available for sale. Also, out of curiosity a friend and I tried sharing the quests
Frostsaber Provisions
,
Winterfall Intrusion
, and
Rampaging Giants
, letting her turn them in, then having me share them back to her. This worked and she still got rep for the quests. So you still can get Exalted with the
Wintersaber Trainers
faction. What's not known is if you hit exalted doing this will you be able to buy the mount like you could prepatch.

The quests are completely random, a bit like cooking and fishing dailies; there's only five or six quests, and they're chosen for you randomly out of that pool, of which you do only one per day. I'm doing this on an alt for kicks n' giggles, since I did the hard grind on my main a couple of years ago. (For which I wrote a rather nice guide, that is now BLOODY WELL USELESS.) This is much faster and easier, as the hardest/most time-consuming portion is simply getting out to Winterspring in the first place.
For twenty days you perform a daily quest for your (adorable!) cub, that takes less than ten minutes, and at the end of those twenty days, you just offer up some Runecloth, Rugged Leather, and pocket change for a mount. I remember attempting this grind back in Vanilla and gave up for a few years because it was so time-consuming: getting exalted with Darnassus and the Wintersaber Trainers, AND purchasing cat-riding, in addition to 80g for the mount itself? Painful! Now? ...I almost feel a bit cheated, but happy that more people have the opportunity to own this very lovely mount. :)

It doesn't need a guide. Emberblaze is a tool for writing it and you're not far behind him for posting it here.
A decent guide would be:
1. Go to Rivern Frostwing in Winterspring and do the quests he gives you.
2. Do the cub's dailies for 20 days.
3. Hand Rivern's quest in.
4. Profit.
Not exactly rocket science and certainly no need for a full-page spread.

I'm unsure if this is a bug or not but if you do the daily just after the dailies reset then go back to Winterspring again exactly an hour before the dailies are due to reset again your pet has another daily for you to do making it possible to earn 2 whiskers per day.

In 2005, I was third on my server to get this mount, back when the questing for it required a ridiculous amount of devotion and time. I spent 2.5 weeks on it, about 8 hours per day. Yes, back then I had no life, but the reward resulted in me using this as my primary mount until The Burning Crusade introduced flying mounts in January 2007.
I tell you, there is nothing like sitting in Ironforge and having nearly every person who walks by stop and look at this mount.

If you completed the grind and got your Winterspring Frostsaber on your Alliance character, you will now automatically have the Venomhide Ravasaur mount on any Horde characters that share the same account.

As Rayanna mentioned there is a bug where you can get all 4 quests in the same daily lockout, making you complete it in 5 days instead of 20. Earning 4 whiskers a day. Each day you have potential to get 1 out of 4 of these quests.

Now after you've completed the daily on you current realm, you can abuse the mechanic of switching realms. Now if you're someone like me and don't have friends cross server. Here's what you can do. Now i have only tested this on my 90, quite unsure how you could abuse this if you don't have friends cross server pre-90
Hit your friends tab. Next to your chat box, with the number of friends currently online, or simply hit O on your keyboard. Go to "Raid" and click "Other Raids" and what i do is i list myself under celestials. I wait for a invite, and i get transferred to another realm. Pull out my cub, and there should be the another daily for you're whiskers. Now if you don't get it, you probably got you're previous quest on that server, so just leave. And rinse and repeat.

If you have a level 2 stables which allows you to gather and whatnot mounted, this mount is the best for it.
It doesn't make it any faster, but if you gather herbs on this mount, it actually digs them up for you in a cool animation. :D

You will need 20 of
冬泉豹幼崽的胡须
. You gain 1 of those per 1 daily.
That takes 20 days in total.
But you can do it faster in only 5 days!
There are 4 different dailies:

Different realms have different dailies. You can change realms in game and complete all 4 of them in a single day.
I used Server Hop addon to change realms

Good luck!

Little tip for Death Knights in legion, if you want to get all 4 quests in one day, keep the cub out and use your Death Gate while in Winterspring. once back at there find someone in a different realm and ask them to invite you to a group or vice versa, another quests will appear above your cub. once you get the quests use your Death gate to teleport back to winterspring.
