Assumption: In Draenor or Outland, changes the area around you for a short time to show what it looks like in the other one.
Though since it's not a toy maybe it does something else. Usually if something isn't a toy it like, teleports or gives a speed boost or something.
Teleport between certain Draenor areas and their Outland counterparts? Though that would ask what happens if you used it in Outland's Netherstorm or Draenor's Frostfire Ridge :P
sold for 500
in Shattrath City when Burning Crusade Timewalking is active.
Using it will reveal convergence points between Draenor and Outland. Can be used while mounted, lasts 15 seconds, as soon as you click on it, an arcane path will guide you to the convergence point. (15sec CD).
Update Player Phase
Use the mirror outside
(Outland - coord 35.27, 12.51) will create a portal to
entrance (Draenor - 50.41, 35.19)
There are already places that allow you to teleport between Draenor and Azeroth, such as the cave on the timeless isles which takes you to an island off Gorgrond.
Perhaps this simply places a marker somewhere, revealing a portal between the two lands.
Reminds me of the magic mirror from Link to the Past. Though that was one way...
Well What would happen if you stand in Zangarmarsh and used it? Would you end up in the middle of the Zangar Sea?
It might have been a better expansion, that's for sure, keep rubbing it in with flavor texts and garrison missions eh blizz?
As of today the current build on the PTR has the badge price lowered from the original 5000 to 500.
That is very good news for those of us who dreamed of getting both mounts and the toys/vanity items.
Edit: Blizz decided that while they were going to nerf the cost to 1/10th the previous cost they also decided to nerf the badge drop rate to 1/30th the previous drop rate.
So this turns out to be a huge increase in the total cost of these items.
This current design team sucks.
The flavor text might be related to Galadriels conversation with Frodo about ringbearer in Lothlorien in the first LOTR-Movie.
Probably teleports you from outlands to draenor and vice versa. Hence why its not a toy.
Edit: Why am I buried? I turned out to be right... Seriously?
Don't know why a guess would be downvoted so much.
Just bought this from
during the TBC timewalking event for 500
It can only be used in Outland or Dreanor and it "phases" you by putting a slightly hazy pink overlay on your screen for the duration of its short 15 second cooldown, during that time a little purple wisp will fly off towards one of the nearby "Reflective portals" in Outland or Draenor. Going through any of the portals will instantly teleport you to the equivalent location in Draenor from Outland and vice versa, and you can easily take a return portal as well. For example
. It is also usable while mounted without dismounting you!
Seems like a moderately useful little teleport item since some Outland areas can take quite a while to get to!
...If you try to use it in Netherstorm it just says "The intense magical currents here interfere with the mirror." :(
This is a really cool item that allows you to see and use portals between Draenor and Outland. It works by sending out a magical orb that will fly/walk/run along the ground towards the closest portal. This is much the same way as Enderman eyes or whatever they are called function in Minecraft, use it and it will float for a few moments towards the end portal.
This item can be used while mounted!
Once you find a portal you can only use them when you have the mirror buff on, once that falls off you have to use the item again to be able to see and use the portals.
Below is a list of portals that I have found and their

There is another portal in Tanaan Jungle at the Throne of Kil'jaeden but as of right now there is no portal in Tanaan, there is a portal in Outland which will take you to the Throne in Draenor, but you wont be able to port back to Outland, hope this gets fixed soon! Here are those co-ordinates;
Throne of Kil'jaeden 'New'
*No portal currently

Played with for 20 minutes.. portals are few and far between. I mean flying around Outland I would use the thing at various locations because I wanted to see what Blizz considered the WoD equivalent... but the magic cloud would just take me away from the place I initially wanted to see changed.
Also not a toy (I guess because if you squint really hard you might consider this 'useful') so it takes up a bag slot and is character specific. Fortunately even if you use it you can still get a refund.
To be honest, this is sort of a useless item. A bit late in my opinion. It could of been useful or fun if offered earlier during Warlords of Draenor's release, but now that it's 6.2.2, Majority of players who have completed WoD Content rarely ever visit Draenor's zones other than their Garrisons, and maybe an occasional Stormshield/Warspear.
The only real good use I found for it is, if you are Alliance, you don't have your home location set to the Shrine of Seven Stars, you're not a mage, and want a quick way to get to Shattrath City, you can use Aviana's Feather from your garrison and land where the portal to Shattrath City is. Saves a lot of time compared to teleporting to Stormwind, using the portal to Hellfire Peninsula (Dark Portal), and flying all the way to Shattrath... it saves about 5 minutes. The other area it's useful is if you do weekly Black Temple runs.
I recommend saving your 500 Timewalking Badges and save up for a toy or mount.
If you're a fan of Stargate SG-1 and loved running + fighting through the Dark Portal with Bra'tac at the start of the expansion, then this is the toy for you. Its basically a mage's version of this:
. Yea. /nerdgasm
Or if you like Bleach and have it set up that Outland is partially merged into the "afterlife" like I do in my character's storyline , then its like this:
This and flying make WoD SOOO much more interesting, at least for me. Was mad to find out that I couldn't buy it during Wrath timewalking, and I've been waiting since my birthday to buy it. This and flying = an epic bday present. Belated in the mirror's case. So much fun... :')
To those who say this is useless, you just have to use your imagination more. This has a ton of uses if you farm mage stones, mats, are after Outland loremaster, etc. It just makes both Outland and Draenor so much more accessible and interesting. As someone who has no intention of buying Legion, that's a big deal to me, at least. Plus Stargate. o.o
tl;dr: Alternate reality mirror from SG-1- Draenor version = 1337 = can't stop randomly flying around everywhere despite the fact that I just got Brawlpub VIP access and haven't done my pet dailies ;_; = worth every token imo. :3
P.S.: REALLY good if you have the Sandstone Drake. Post-DS you can be the strongest bronze dragon in the game. >xD /burn
Can safely buy it and return - you will get refund.
They forgot to add the incantation you need to know to use this item:
Mirror mirror in my bag show me Outland please don't cause lag
You cost me 500 coins and I wanted the mount
That's like 20 dungeons don't make me count
So show me an image of what could have been
Or you'll be broken in half like Varian Wrynn :)
...and again Blizzard why this must occupy a bag slot and not beeing a toy?
If you're Horde and finished the quest line to get
, you can use this and the mirror to warp across Draenor and get to Shadowmoon Valley.
* If you can fly and unlocked Tanaan Jungle, you can port there from Ashran instead and fly south across Tanaan Channel.
You could also go to Shattrath and fly to Bone Wastes (or FP to Stonebreaker Hold) to quickly get to Talador and Auchindoun.
I suppose if you're in a city, you can grab the portal to Hellfire Peninsula and use the mirror to get to Tanaan Jungle a little faster, bypassing SW/Ogr, Blasted Lands, the Dark Portal and Ashran. This would save a hearth to your garrison.
For Alliance, I'm not sure how effective this would be; to have flying would likely be crucial for some of the portals.
* One thing you could do if you don't yet have the garrison mole machine is to get to Shattrath, take the FP to Sylvanaar and then head east to the land bridge over Bloodmaul Ravine to use the mirror portal to Gormaul Tower to get to
** If you do have the garrison mole machine, what would be even faster is to port to Highpass, fly/taxi to Deeproot, mirror port to Razor Ridge in Outland, then fly to the Bloodmaul Ravine land bridge to mirror port to Gormaul Tower. The distance between the two mirror ports is significantly closer in Outland.
* Take the garrison mole machine to Highpass and get to Blackrock Foundry to mirror port to Gruul's Lair.
* From Shattrath, fly into Nagrand to use the mirror portals there, but for Oshu'gun it may take the same amount of time to take the garrison FP. Your mileage may vary depending on being able to fly, and you would save some coin at the very least.
Useful item to have if you have not yet unlocked flight in Draenor. There is a portal short distance south of the alliance garrison use this mirror there to open a portal to the same spot in the future Draenor (outlands). From there fly to the portal that links where you want to be in Draenor, use the mirror to show the portal and enjoy.
This item has its uses. IMHO, it's worth the 500 badges. Gear will become obsolete, but getting around will not.
For example, Alliance who want to fight
can take the portal just outside Lunarfall Garrison, which exits close to the grand master pet tamer. It's faster than using my
Blessed Medallion of Karabor
Need to get to Shattrath? Perhaps for the
or grind some rep you're missing? Maybe you're trying for the
Reins of the Raven Lord
? Take a taxi to Shattrath City in Talador and go through the portal just a short way north.
you can get a basic of how does it work.
Hope it helps ;)
This mirror does exactly what gods stolen map did in the 1981 movie "Time Bandits". Those midgets were always running around looking for portals to jump through to steal treasure and glory.
Now that we can phase out to see the portals they need to add something that adds map markers showing where the portals are located. That quest to find said map should be called "Time Bandits".
I;m guessing we can't use this in Netherstorm to get to the fields of Farahlon? Ah well, Vargoth will be stuck there then.
This is one of my new favorite items. It's absolutely awesome seeing the connecting points between the zones, TBC and WoD-era. It's also a great travel device. Cannot recommend it enough--it's a ton of fun! :)
It's becoming a toy in Legion. Which means you can add it to the toy box! No more bag space being taken up and you'll only need to buy one of them.
i dont like when blizzard do half way work.
so many item so many think most be toy so much time ago.now we need wait this item turn a toy for 7.0.
so many think i didnt buy or vendor it destoroy it at past.now they turn a toy.
ok that maybe diffrent
but how come this timewalk lk and tbc some item like this one wasnt toy from day one.
The Gormaul Tower and Burning Glacier pins are reversed. Would also suggest adding East and West to the Bloodmaul Ravine pins.
Interesting fact, Blizzard stated that when they scraped Faralon, "Netherstorm might be Ashran." Despite this, you cannot use this anywhere near Ashran.
1- the magic within the Netherstorm disrupts the mirror and so the worlds can't meet.
2- it was a lie and Ashran doesn't exist in our outlands.
EDIT: Failed grammar
Maybe it's just me, but when I think of a mirror that shifts its user from one reality to another my mind goes first and foremost to the Magic Mirror from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (
), it even sorta looks like the art from the game manual.
It's practically a handicap if it takes bag space for such a niche use, so it's a good thing that it becomes a toy in Legion.
When I use it in Netherstorm, will I come out in Farahlon?
'What shall we look for, and what shall we see?' asked Frodo, filled with awe.
'What you will see, if you leave the mirror free to work, I cannot tell. For it shows things that were, and things that are, and things that yet may be. But which it is that he sees, even the wisest cannot always tell. Do you wish to look?'
'Will you look into the mirror?'
'What will I see?'
'Even the wisest cannot tell, for the mirror shows many things: things that were, things that are, and some things that have not yet come to pass.'
This item is becoming a toy in Legion!
Due to the popularity of this tool I have created a Wowhead
! Check it out and feel free to leave suggestions for me in the comments :)
New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!
Follow this link:
Log into a Google account
Click on 'File'
Click on 'Make a copy...'
This will add an editable copy of the spreadsheet to your drive!
Alternatively you can download it as a .xlxs or .ods file, but I haven't checked this for compatibility.
Happy hunting :)
they skipped netherstorm because they skipped
fields of farahlon

I made this addon for use with this toy. Eventually you learn their locations, but at start, it's nice to have a good map of the portal locations. :)
For those of us who don't have dreanor flying, I see this as a way to shift into Outland for travelling to new places and shift out again. This will be amazing!
Why couldn't they have put a portal next to Ogri'la? Seriously, don't they want me to get the rep exalted?
Unfortunately, this toy is
so you will only see it on char you bought it with, so don't buy it on wrong one as me :) I had some spare Timewalking badges on my alt hunter so i bought it , and when i logged back to my main warlock it was not in a list.
Edit: After little bit digging into this I have found out that this seems to be bugged, I have created in-game link (via wowhead) to check if my main is missing this toy. Surprisingly it was saying that i "already know it" on that char, so it's seems like its just not showing on other characters, even if they know it. So i tried to make very simple macro.
/use Ever-Shifting Mirror
and it worked... so if someone bought it recently on alt and its not showing on your main. Just use that macro above it will work like charm. Hopefully blizzard will fix this soon, because i got this toy only because i want to travel faster to Ogril'la, through Garrison -> go to 37.58, 60.69 (The Burning Glacier) -> teleport to Blade's edge mountain 39.63, 77.39 (Bloodmaul Ravine) and in 1 min you are in Ogril'la :D
Edit2: Once you use it via macro, it will show up in your toy box.
As of the SL pre-patch, the item does not appear in the toy list until you get to Outlands and level 40+. The item is not usable until 40+. Blizz really needs to fix the item and have it show up regardless of circumstance - this has been an existing bug for over 2 years.
This toy is super cool, and like the comments say it does throw like an Ender Pearl in Minecraft. You can be mounted and even flying in the air on your flying mount when you do it, and you can press it every 15 seconds. When you press it, a purple trail will start traveling in some direction and you can easily follow it since you can be mounted. The trail goes for almost the full 15 seconds, and then you can use the toy again, so there's no waiting around in between. It will eventually create a portal at the end of the trail that you can go in to go to that same spot in Draenor or Outland. From what I saw it even keeps you facing the same direction you were so you can really make a comparison. What's really incredible is the light it sheds on the areas like Frostfire Ridge and Gorgrond that didn't have a clear match to Outland before. You can see from the mirror they both connect to Blade's Edge Mountains, so I guess they got smushed together? And even so, how did all those spikes grow there?
