This battle pet is named after the comical shark that was in the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime show (February 1, 2015). This "
" quickly, and I mean SUPER quickly, became an Internet Meme before the half time show even ended. To quote the wikipedia entry:
During Perry's performance... she was accompanied by several dancers in various beach-themed costumes, including two dressed as sharks. In their performance, one of the performers, left of Perry on screen, appeared to miss a cue and danced to his own beat instead of the planned choreography. The shark's outfits, as well as the performance of this "Left Shark", quickly became an Internet meme.
The organizing choreographer RJ Durell stated that the dancers... were not given rigorous choreography but instead told to mimic Perry's moves and "to have loads of fun, and bring to life these characters in a cartoon manner", and concluded that the Left Shark "nailed it".
It's because of the endorfins.
Expecting a NPC named Paty Kerry to give this out.
(I'm most likely wrong, though. :P)
He's the real MVP.
I don't want moves like Jagger. I want moves like Left Shark.
One of its abilities:
- Chance to cause your enemy's current pet to dance out of rhythm. Stunned for two rounds.
This is why I love this game. Stuff like this.
Is this shark gonna forget their own Routine?
:D :D :D
Just hoping it's not obtained through a fishing achiev cause I'm all fished out after Lvl 3 Fishing Shack.
Dual wielding this Shark will give you two left feet.

The Right Place For a Left Shark?
Left Shark One of the two pets that was added to the PTR is a pop culture reference — Left Shark! (pictured right, image courtesy of Wowhead)
This awkward yet lovable shark was first seen at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show. During Katy Perry's performance, there was a less than zealous dancer dressed in a shark costume to Perry's left and he was quickly dubbed the "left shark".
Although it's not yet in the Pet Journal on the PTR, Wowhead has datamined the Left Shark's entry. Its in-game description is more Iron Horde-related than pop culture.
"Who would leave such a cute shark behind? The Iron Horde truly has no soul.
If the Iron Horde have no desire to keep him, we can think of some pet collectors who wouldn't mind adopting this shark. Perhaps Left Shark can show us some of his moves; currently he prefers swimming (or is it dancing?) to the left.
An Aspiring Developer
The second pet that was recently added to the PTR is Crusher.
This pet was spawned from a conversation on Twitter, in which a mother shared with @BlizzardCareers that her seven year old son wanted to be a developer at Blizzard when he grows up. So much so that he dressed up as one for "Future Day" at school!
Concept art for Crusher Upon revealing that her son had an idea for a new WoW pet, Blizzard encouraged him to share his creation. His mother then replied with a picture of him holding up concept art of his rock golem (art pictured right), which he later named Crusher.
This pet is not yet in the Pet Journal on the PTR, but Wowhead has datamined its entry. Crusher's flavor text is a heartwarming reminder of this pet's origins.
"Found wandering in a small blizzard, this lost goren carries a mining pick to show that he is a jack of all trades."
Triumphant In Tanaan
An achievement for defeating all of the new "boss pets" was implemented on the PTR. Tiny Terrors in Tanaan requires you to defeat all 14 of the new legendary pet encounters scattered across the jungle.
These NPCs received an update in the latest PTR patch, and now have legendary stats. The majority of them have a complete moveset, but they are still a work in progress, of course.
They have also been relocated and are no longer bunched up on Tanaan's southern coastline. Each pet has a unique location, and to reach some of them you'll need to maneuver around level 100 elites. Perhaps part of the "tiny terror" challenge is simply getting to them!
Now that we have a Left Shark pet, perhaps we'll see a Candy Gram Shark pet in the future. Maybe when the next 'Love Is In The Air' is in town, eh Blizzard?
Left Shark is Best Shark!
I'm almost certain that Left Shark will do a dance every few minutes. Can't wait.
If you click the "View in 3D" button, you will see that Left Shark is
Not an Ambi-Turner
sorry I left my shark here
yet another shark pet but still no larry....we can wait
Not the Right Shark
I'm kind of disappointed it's just a shark in a bubble much like land shark (which players actually have to spend a lot of time fishing to get the currency for). This was a missed opportunity to have a mini shark pet that just looked like a small person in a shark costume. Instead we get something that looks similar to something else with a different name. I understand it's fun having pop culture references but it's the same as taking a standard battle pet cat and giving it the name Nyan Cat. Not as cool when they look extremely different.
I love the way they made this little guy look! This fish is a keeper and will not be tossed back in lol
Doesn't even have funny ability names, on top of just looking like a regular shark in a bubble. It doesn't even have a blue skin on it to make it look a LITTLE like Left Shark. I'm almost sorry I spent resources rearranging my ships' abilities to get this.
Hey, it's just LEFT shark. Just left behind, not something else. Left in the sense of "leave" or "abandoned" Did anyone read mission description?
"A young shark has been abandoned in a storm off the coast of Nagrand. Defend it from the Iron Horde and it will likely follow you home."
Now we just need to find the
for this little guy...
To be honest, I had no clue what this was a reference to until I looked it up...I was trying to figure out what was so special about this "left shark". I live under a rock.
I'm tired of this popping up in my naval map. This, the Oilx400 and several useless missions. BLEH
This should be changed to a currency. Currently there's dozens of it sitting at my guild's bank.
