One of the two new Ore in Legion.
Leystone Ore and Felslate.
Upon mining your first Leystone Ore you will be granted Legion Mining expanding your maximum mining to 800.
Unfortunately they have been busily nerfing Leystone and Felslate nodes in recent small beta patches.
These nodes are personal to the miner, that is, if someone turns up to your node and mines before you, it does not matter it will still be there for you to mine. As of this beta post, at least according to a lot of other profession grinders, looking for these nodes, there is neither a set place for them to spawn, since they spawn everywhere, and they don't respawn back in the same place they were mined from which is a significant departure from what's gone before.
Therefore , and after all these nerfs on these nodes and taking into account currently the nodes don't respawn back at the same place, it fair to say that there is no efficient way to farm these nodes, which is very vexing if your a blacksmith.
Demons did occasionally have leystone ores on them, but its debatable since the nerfs whether they still do. There used to be a cave that spawned mobs and you'd kill the mobs and end up with tons of this ore, this is no longer the case, since the mobs no longer spawn in the cave.
I had one of my first few nodes yield a

The other ore for Legion is
Prospecting leystone ore gives common and rare gems
From the ore i have prospected i get 1 rare gem in 60 leystone
I just prospected 'Pandemonite', 'Shadowruby' and 'Eye of Prophecy' from Leystone Ore, meaning the 'Prospecting' list here is incorrect.
Some prospecting info based on 880
(for price comparison, that was 12,500 gold for that ore on 19/03/2017)
So 1080 ore = 88 gems.
If you're looking to farm this post-Legion, a good spot is The Broken Shore, just east of Dalaran. You do not have to do any quests to be able to farm there and it's quite compact and the respawn is good. Flying is very beneficial.
