Yay, the new portable blood lust for everyone! :D
I hope trolls don't use this when they can, just to prevent people receiving this buff when they actually need it.
For those who might not immediately grasp the meaning of the data here (like me, I went and found out the hard way) unlike their previous incarnation,
, they are one drum per craft instead of 20 but are still consumed on use.
An important difference between these drums and the Drums of Rage is that hese
be used in Challenge Modes, whereas the Rage ones couldn't.
If you are new to leatherworking or have to catch up to the 600 skill level, be prepared to craft a lot of them. And by that I mean a
At 2 skill point per craft, guaranteed skill point up to 600 where they go grey, they are currently the cheapest and fastest way to get your leatherworking up. Depending on server economy, a 200-stack of
is sometimes even cheaper than 'old' leather like light or medium.
An important fact. These are now 2 skill ups per craft as of 6.2
Sadly not up to par with a hero class, recommend only using these if you don't have any other options as bl/hero/tw give 30% haste buff for the same debuff.
Provides skill-ups until 660 skinning.
These have no level requirement and can be used in low level battlegrounds.
For anyone looking for an insanely fast and cheap way to level leatherworking from 1-600 I would advise making these, they only cost 5 raw beast hide to make and will grant you 2 levels. You can go from 1-600 for about 2k gold in 10minutes. Plus you can sell the drums back later since they work past level 101
These are usable in Mythic+ dungeons
, highly recommended to have at hand if you have no classes with bloodlust/heroism/time warp in your party.
These will receive some sort of level cap in the next days/weeks.
Why? Because there is now a Legion version of this, which would be pretty useless if you could continue to use this WoD item. I wonder why they didn't already made that change with 7.1
regardless of your faction, these drums gives you the same debuff as heroism (
You can learn to make this item with any alt at around level 100 in 5 minutes and three steps.
If you are coming here in order to find out how to learn to make Drums on your alts, this is a step-by-step guide:
0. Obtain as many
as you need. You need at least 5x to learn the recipe. You can purchase them using Draenor Garrison resources in your Garrison or buy them using gold on the Auction House.
1. Learn Leatherworking from any Leatherworking trainer in any capital city:
2.1. Skip this step and go to 2.2. if you do not care about your Leatherworking skill level at all and are certain that you want to use Drums of Fury instead of Drums of the Mountain, which are identical to Drums of Fury but utilise Legion materials.
You can now learn Legion Leatherworking in Legion Dalaran, which will immediately increase your Leatherworking skill cap to 800. You need to obtain 20x
- buy them on the Auction House, or learn Skinning and farm the items yourself. The vast majority of skinnable mobs in the Broken Isles will yield Leather when skinned and you can easily get the 5 Stormscales from e.g. any crabs in Aszuna. The quest is available at the Legion Dalaran Leatherworking trainer linked in step 1.
After quest completion you can also immediately purchase
and start making
Stop here if that is all you care about, but note that Drums of Fury are cheaper to craft and the resources are free.
2.2. Go to Ashran and find your faction's Leatherworking trainer by asking a guard NPC.
A NPC next to them (
for Horde and
for Alliance) will sell
for roughly 100g less any faction discounts.
Purchase this and learn Draenor Leatherworking.
3. You will have automatically learnt how to craft
on a long cooldown. Immediately craft one using 5x
, and now you can immediately purchase
at the same NPC.
Can these be used in BfA? If not please update the description / Requirements
If you select the Tannery without Leatherworking, Drums of Fury can be crafted at level one by talking to the worker there.
I think the biggest time sink was finishing the starting questline to create the garrison. I have done this on an alt. I have leveled my garrison to level 3 without too much trouble. Just spend a few minutes each day sending followers on missions prioritizing the ones that reward garrison resources. Build an Inn to recruit additional followers with the extreme scavenger trait. Build a trading post to trade garrison resources for the Raw Beast Hide or you can opt to buy or farm it.
The actual Drums of Fury effect uses Spell ID 178207, for those doing addon/WA development.
