Now you can open the purse. It contains around 50 gold. And the price is 1x
Yeh, buy this and you deffinetly got screwed over because right now at this very moment they are flying of the auction house for 20k. I suppose it also depends on the server you're playing on ;)
Buying this is NOT a good deal, you get x40 the gold by selling it on AH, as of 6.0.3
Did anyone realy test the amount of Gold in this on the live severs? Or are all comments here from the Beta? Maybe the 50g was just for testing on PTR because the
that "only" costs 50
gives 10-30 gold.
gold from bag moves you closer to storehouse level 3 blueprints. might be only reason why people are wasting money on this, if they are close to get the blueprints.
just tested to find out out how much gold, 43 Gold 93 silver 26 copper
Want to be SCAMMED by BLIZZARD? Go buy these to get 50g... Savage Blood going for 1.500g each in AH...
Blizzard jokes. Love it.
This has to be the worst deal... ever, you can do pretty much anything with these highly desired savage bloods and you'd be using it better than this.
Perhaps try running your chopper on savage bloods!
The Vendor that trades these must have been a used car saleman at one time, or maybe a loan shark. Perhaps in the next expac this might be remotely close to a decent trade. You gotta give Blizz credit for doing what they do best :))
now why couldn't they put something like this in to get rid of all the leftover currency from the
content? once Warlords is over and the demand for Bloods plummets then this will likely be a good deal, but for now it's just pointless
Absolutely not worth it at all. You'll only get about 40-50 gold for a single Savage Blood. You'd be much better off selling a Savage Blood on the AH if you had absolutely zero intention of using it yourself.
Server wide Savage Blood averages for about 1K gold on the AH. Even at it's lowest price you'd be making anywhere between 10-30 times the amount of a single purse if you just simply sold them on the AH.
Suggestion to Devs: For extra laughs, program in this sound clip to play when someone opens the purse:
It contains roughly 50g (a little more or a little less depending on RNG).
To everyone complaining about this item and how Blizz is trying to screw people over, realize that from 6.1 and forward this will be completely normal to buy. No one will have any use for bloods so this at least gives people with the barn a way to get rid of stock piled bloods.
Right now, between 6.0 and 6.1, buying this would be very dumb compared to selling the blood on the AH because they're obviously selling for WAY more than 50g. But, like I said earlier, after 6.1 you'll most likely be able to get better gear than what these can craft through new dungeons and/or LFR.
Honestly thought this was common sense but after reading some of the comments here, I feel this post is sadly justified.
As this has been pointed out many times before, this is a way to get rid of all the savage bloods you have when they will no longer be needed, most likely at the end of WOD. Indeed this item has been added to the game way to early but well, dev priorities I guess.
Okay Kudos for telling us the average gold drop this bag gives. But, 1k gold back in Dec 2014, is not a reason to put down this bag. Indeed, look at the older mats for MOP. 30-50 gold, would be awesome right now in April 2015 atm. Do you think that Blizzard might have these merchants stop selling these bags later?
maybe the purpose of this item is to get rid of the excess materials when the expansion ends and blood become worthless.
Gave it a test, as i found some Savage blood on ah for 10g a piece, normal price 100g.
So, around 50g is normal.
You loot 50 Gold, 74 Silver, 31 Copper
You loot 51 Gold, 17 Silver, 66 Copper
You loot 50 Gold, 18 Silver, 19 Copper
You loot 51 Gold, 4 Silver, 84 Copper
You loot 49 Gold, 75 Silver, 59 Copper
You loot 51 Gold, 34 Silver, 68 Copper
You loot 51 Gold, 31 Silver
You loot 49 Gold, 36 Silver, 76 Copper
You loot 50 Gold, 92 Silver, 56 Copper
You loot 50 Gold, 18 Silver, 34 Copper

Savage Blood are 99gold on Zul'Jin
So spending one to get 50gold from a bag is stupid.
For any of you wanting a quick way to buy and open a ton of these at once, here is a macro:
/use Bloody Gold Purse
It's ironic to say this now, looking at the comments from 6.0.3 and whatnot, but jokes aside, this item now is
actually not that bad of a deal
on some servers.
If the median price of your server's Savage Bloods on the Auction House drops below 49 gold
, i suggest you start using the Bloods on these bags
, cause from my experience the price either barely recovers to 49.5~ gold or doesn't recover at all.
If you see any bloods selling under 49 gold, BUY THEM, that's an immediate profit for you there, cause
the bags CANNOT drop below 49 gold.
They seem to contain an
average of 50.7 gold
never thought the day would come, but savage blood goes for 52g on the AH now on ravencrest EU.
these bloody coin purses usually give 49,5-50.5g, i once got 100,9g, but i think that was because i opened 2 bags so quickly that my chat window registered it as 100g instead of 2x50 :)
Protip : If you find savage bloods on the AH for less than 50g, buy them and exchange them for those Bloody Gold Purse. You'll get some pocket change amount of profit per blood exchanged.
still drops roughly the same amount of gold in 7.0.3
Drops up to 200g, depends on trader (?)
(and keep posting at 50g plz :)
Hope its not cause i opened them fast
edit it is cause i oppened them fast , anyone want to buy savage blood 60g ? :D
I opened a hundred of these today (patch 7.1) and got an average of 50.3146g and a standard deviation of 0.5546g.
Observed minimum and maximum were 49.3555g and 51.3113g respectively, meaning the true range has to be at least 1.9558g. Now, I don't know if anyone's looked into this very closely, or if a bluepost has ever said how these things work, but from this data alone we can observe that the standard deviation is fairly close to what you'd expect from a uniform distribution with a set minimum and maximum: sqrt(1.9558²/12) = 0.5646g.*
Under that assumption, my estimated average from this sample is the midpoint
Perhaps more interesting is the minimum. As I understand it, estimating the reliability of the endpoints is not a settled science ready to be digested by laymen like myself, but it is not unreasonable to assume there is a "people-friendly" number in the calculation somewhere. So while my observed minimum is probably higher than the real minimum, you are not likely to lose much gold on that assumption, either. Other guesses at a minimum (just eyeballing it) could be 1g less than average or 98% of average. But anyway, it seems that at 49g you definitely can't lose gold; the question is more whether you want to spend the time.
* We should technically use the equation for a discrete uniform distribution, but for just guessing a distribution, this will do.
I just opened 802 bags and got a total of 40 383g. That is an average of 50g35s per bag. The prices ranged from 49g to 51g97.
I believe, based on this sample that the true average is 50g50s.
For those that want a macro to open all their Bloody Gold Purses at once:
#showtooltip Bloody Gold Purse
/run for bag = 0,4,1 do for slot = 1, GetContainerNumSlots(bag), 1 do local name = GetContainerItemLink(bag, slot); if name and string.find(name,"Bloody Gold Purse") then UseContainerItem(bag, slot) end end end
This also works to vendor things that you have a ton of by replacing the name and having a vendor window open; however, with that you might have to click the button a few times to sell everything.
the vendor price is 49g +/- 1g. I'm finding them on the AH at 20g. A small, but useful profit from Legion onwards. I've just bought 200 @ 20g on the AH a few minutes ago , so 6k free gold
It seems that at some point there was a stealth nerf to buying these things, because I am now seeing a confirmation window pop up - each and every time I try to buy one: "Are you sure you want to exchange 1 Savage Blood for the following item? Your purchase is not refundable." Useful I suppose if you aren't familiar with how Savage Blood worked in WoD, but rather a pain when you are buying them on the AH for a profit.
Very annoying. It's possible there is a macro or UI workaround, but even trading in 50 Savage Blood (which I wanted to do today) is going to be a much bigger chore than it used to be. I used to be able to just click super-fast on the item and fill my bags in no time, but now I have to click on the vendor UI then click the confirmation window across my screen.
And no, before you ask, you cannot SHIFT-Click and buy them in a stack, because they do not stack. Fortunately my opening macro still works!
~MACRO TO AUTO MASS BUY AND OPEN AT SAME TIME~
/use Bloody Gold Purse
Don't know if gold amount depends from player level but at 20, I've received 2.5 gold from it.
EDIT : tried a second time, still 2.5 gold @ level 20
As of day 1 of patch 9.1, these don't give any gold anymore and only give 3 - 4 silver per purse. I have submitted a bug report.
its july 2021 they nerf the price to around 4 silver be aware
So...this is a thing now.......Bloody Gold Purses have been quietly nerfed as of Patch 9.1 to only give you just under 4 gold. REALLY Blizz?
Stealth nerfed in 9.1, from around 50g to 3s 70c.
I couldn't find anything in the 9.1 patch notes notifying players this was coming.
Helps me understand once and for all that Blizzard hates it's customers and after playing since BC I'm now going to transition to FFXIV. Seems such a tiny-minded nerf, sneaking it in suggests Blizz knew it would go down like a cup of cold sick - players who like WOW but loathe the excrement that is ShadowLands are being penalised for enjoying old content. Weird mentality.
I mean it's not a big thing, but it is very indicative of the way the game is travelling.
These are worthless now as of 9.1. I got about 3 silver each for them.
No gives only 3 silver
Just dumped thousands of ore and primal spirit into sacks that contain 3 silver.
Okay Blizzard I get it. You hate us.
Well, so I'm not going to give you one cent anymore.
Edit: Submitted ticket and GM responded with:
Hey there <insert my name>,
Game Master Adhaglaudock here, at your service. I see you bought some Bloody Gold Purses and they ended up giving a small amount of silver instead of gold. I can certainly understand your frustration here, as the Savage Bloods used to buy them are worth more than silver.
I appreciate you taking the time to report this to us. This is an issue that we are fully aware of, and are currently working on. At this time though, we are not sure if this is an intended change or a bug. As such, we are unable to reimburse players for the Bloody Gold Purses. This is because if it is intended, these wouldn't be refundable once used.
You are also able to submit bugs using the in-game reporting method. To do so, click on the red question mark on your micro menu, and select submit bug.
Thank you for reaching out to us today about this, and while I know I wasn't able to give you the answer you were hoping for today, I wanted to make sure you had all the information there was on this.
tl:dr : rip boys savage bloods dead
Yep... just shy of 4 silver, is what I got from the Bloody Gold Purse, who used to yield 25-50 gold-... Felt like I got my Primal Spirit's forcefully deleted away to be honest.. Since the Savage Blood on its own sells for more, why would you spend it on a coin purse that devalues the blood even more? - If this is a nerf, and not a bug, they should get their heads out of the gutter.
I send a ticket, hopefully they fix this, or atleast give back what was lost, since this feels like a legit scam. :/
Well looks like they royally screwed us over. The "bloody gold purse" no longer has any bloody gold in it. Just a few silver. Thanks, Blizz. Really got screwed over with this too. At least change the text on the bag to say "Bloody silver purse. Contains a not-so-decent amount of silver." Just a whine but I'm just so fed up with what seems like a daily screw job by this game.
Seems they've adjusted this recently. I bought a bunch today, and each contained around 3.5g. Still sadly nowhere close to what it used to be.
ok I am getting 3 silver from this, in 9.2.5
These bags now give ~3s 70c. The bloods themselves sell for 10s. You're better off just vendoring the bloods now.
