He's a lvl 100 companion and unlocks lvl 100 missions. So far (@lvl96), all the lvl 100 missions require multiple companions to be lvl 100 in order to have a chance of success.

As of right now, the price on these is fixed at 5000g regardless of your reputation level with the "Council of Exarchs" faction.

At launch, your reputation did apply but that seems to have been hot fixed to no longer be the case.

Don't buy Maluuf while you're still leveling up your other followers. You'll get level 100 quests which can't be completed and take up the spots of quests that could've been useful to you.

Does anyone else think 5000G is really expensive for one follower? Considering I have 16 followers now, 2 100's, couple 99s, 98s, 97s, etc, and the Lunarfall Inn where I can recruit followers based on any preference, is it even worth it?

He is automatically learned as a level 100 rare follower upon purchase with the chance to upgrade to epic just like the other followers have.

I've seen quite a few people in trade asking if this is worth it for 5k gold.

Maluuf comes as a level 100 rare right off the bat. The time savings alone makes it worth getting him.

However, his Group Damage ability is not easy to get for Alliance or Horde (only 1 of 4 "levelling" followers have it by default). Additionally, he has the possibility of picking up the counter for Minion Swarms, which makes him a VERY valuable follower for the 645 Highmaul missions.

If you aren't starved for gold, this is a wise choice.
