A reference to the mechanical chickens you had to escort to safety in Tanaris, Feralas and The Hinterlands... while they did all in their power to aid you by pulling as many tough mobs as possible.
Please, do not give me robo-eggs.
A robot chicken, summoned by one of the "inventions" created in the Goblin Workshop in your garrison.
The invention lasts for 1 day, and has 5 charges, with a 10-minute cooldown.
The reference in the tool-tip is to the previous quests such as
, where you had to escort a lost mechanical chicken. Also a reference to the
Russian Reversal jokes
In Azeroth, you escort OOX, in Draenor, OOX escorts you!
In the current beta patch this chicken just stands there, watching passively and doing nothing while you fight the mobs yourself. Not very helpful!
Also quite amusing: he will always try to be
you, so if you turn to face him he will scurry madly to get behind you again :)
You need to use this invention
for the achievement
, which is needed for the Blueprints for the level 3 Workshop.
Ok, now he's fixed and does quite a nice amount of damage :) Yay for engineering!
Best. Flavor. Text. EVAR!
"In Draenor, OOX escorts you!"
I see what you did there Blizzard!
Dummy testing, the rooster does about 4k dps. Attacks deal between 2500-3500 damage. Every 15 seconds the rooster enrages, tripling its attack damage and doubling attack speed. Each attack will also apply a stacking -5% armor debuff, that stacks ten times (50% reduced armor). The debuff does improve player damage against the target affected by the armor debuff.
Drawback: the chicken is susceptable to most AoE attacks, and has less than 20k hp. Useful for solo-questing, but limited outside of that.
Edit: Just to burn the cooldown, I summoned him in heroic Slag Mines right before Gug-rokk. Was very surprised to 1) see the chicken did not get killed by his AoEs, and 2) put out 30% of my damage while I was tanking the boss. The armor reduction made a notable impact on 2 of the subpar-melee in my group as well. Worthy of more testing, to be sure.
I also saw the rooster activate a rocket boots effect of some sort during the fight to close some distance on an add. I was entertained.
Unfortunately the rooster has very little hp and will very quickly be killed by any aoe, or mob it aggros. You can't heal it either.
Well played, Blizzard. Well played.
Appears the cooldown on this item was reduced in patch 6.1, and you can have multiple roosters out at once. Seems you can have all 10 charges active, even.
Are the roosters susestable to the emp belt? You have a couple out and use the belt and boom?
Post-nerf there's only one way I've found to get credit for all 20 of these in one sitting...it involves simply queuing for the proving grounds at the table in your garrison over and over and activating the rooster each time you come out. Apparently there's no limit on how many times you can do this like in normal instances and it despawns your rooster every time. I got to 20 in about 5 minutes.
Taking a flight path causes you to lose the Robo Chicken. Hopping between Worvar and The Ring of Trials is a 15-20 sec flight.
Just need to restock Robo Chicken after the first 10 Robo Chickens.
If you want to quickly use all the charges for the achievement
, I recommend the following:
1) Summon Robo-Rooster.
2) Take any flight path, the longer the better.
3) Spam Robo-Rooster on CD
during the flight
(you can use it on flight, and it will be instantly dismissed).
A very easy way to knock out all of your charges is to go to the tank training dummy (the one that damages you when you hit it) in your garrison. Hit it with a ranged attack and the rooster will attack it and immediately die. Then wait for the corpse to despawn and summon the next one.
Cheaper and more efficient than flying back and forth.
An easy way to reduce the time you have to wait normaly for reactivate it again (10 minutes cd). Go outside your garrison, just when the notice "frostridge .." shows up, pop with you Mage lvl 3 Bodyguard a portal back to your garrison. Jump in, en run back to that same portal, yes it is still there for a moment to jump in again after you run back to the same spot from your townhall. Repeat for the win.
Not to be underestimated, these guys are actually pretty strong if you can keep aggro off of them. Seem to hit for about 12k or so and apply a stacking armor debuff to their target, increasing your own damage if you deal physical. Using them right now to speed up saberstalker grinding for my mount.
I only needed the 20 spawn counters fpr the achievement.
What i did to get rid of the Robo
I attacted the trainingdummy in the garnison, waited some secs untill the Robo got to the dummy and attacted it itself.
Then i ran back to the main place in the Garison until i left fight.
The Robo was gone that moment and i summoned the next one
20 min and i got the part done
Noticed this as a druid; flightform, press chicken, flightform, press chicken. The chicken apparently doesn't have rocket boosters so you can knock out the 20 chickens in no time.
Just a shame about the people below...
Best way to use up the charges with minimum effort is to take the portal between your main city in Draenor (Warspear for Horde) and your base in Tanaan (Vol'mar for horde). Just go back and forward.
Each time you port you will lose the chicken. Using the port from your garrison will also lose the chicken.
Now unimproved to only work in Draenor . you are killing me blizz
I'm pretty sure the "Robo-Rooster" doesn't spawn anymore. Or better said, you can't get the item anymore to spawn it. I've got the achievement done since 6 month and got all other items millions of times, but never got the "Robo-Rooster". I actually wanted it atleast once for my completionist brain, but apperently you can't get it anymore.
