Of limited use, given that it shares a cooldown with healing potions yet shields for less than the WoD potions like
I'm pretty sure this is currently bugged. Enemies that attack me while this is up basically kill themselves in 1 second. Happened like 20 times now.
Still great for regaining stealth in PvP while have ticking DoTs on you. Any class with stealth/camo.
I waited for years for something like this. Engineers Belt with shield-functionality wasn't that potent.
I'd assume this will be a must-have for CM gold runs as it does not shared the cooldown with stat pots or invis pots.
Despite being able to be craft all four devices via Draenor
, can be placed into Engineering containers, such as
cannot be stored in Engineering containers, and rather take up normal bag slots.
I haven't figured out a way to track the absorption amount on this item.... anybody have any luck?
It seems to confuse your pvp opponent because using this won't put a white bar on your hitpoint bar like
, and your opponent won't know how much sheild is remaining. Don;t know if this can be dispelled.
Stay in school, kids.
Using this puts all my other potions on a 10 minute cooldown. Definitely not cool.
Macroed with my agility potion and Misdirection for pulls, with a conditional, cause I'd rather be using a healing potion later.
Is this affected by resolve? I know healing tonics are. Often get 200k+ with healing tonics while tanking.
This does, in fact, work as a pre-pot (You can use another shield, or tonic 60 seconds after pull). Also, despite the tooltip, this is also affected by spell power as shown in logs, and is therefore superior to tonics, unless you have the alchemy trinket, or benefit in some other way from healing over an absorb.
Ret pallies! Are you tired of rogues tearing away at your precious HP leaving you half dead before you can get a
in? Warlock dots got you feeling hot under the collar?
Not anymore, thanks to
Macro it to a HoT like
and you end up with a powerful mitigation effect in non-rated PvP.
Your would-be waylayers will find themselves whacking away at your shield while the HoT does it's magic and puts you back on your feet!
Don't bubble hearth your way into ignominy! Get
s and overextend in Ashran today!
(Not to be used in conjunction with other potions. Consult a witch doctor if symptoms of overconfidence develop.)
Dunno how about others but this is propably bugged right now. I'm getting 0 absorb when I use it. Tried on 3 of my characters and nothing changed O_o
This item doesn't share a cooldown with
. I've been using both of these items together for a while now.
These items are immensely useful on the
encounter (specifically because of
), especially on higher difficulties where the absorb can easily get you your guild's first Mythic kill.
If your raid members' health is capped under a certain amount on your first few kills, the shields can buy you a little breathing room that a health potion simply cannot.
So before attempting
, be sure to have your group's
department craft up a few of these for everyone. Obviously
坠月挖掘场 / 霜壁矿井 等级3
can easily funnel the 6x
. Very fast, easy, and worth it.
Everyone break out those
's, and Happy Hunting.
First, they make a rather useful item that makes engineering worth it. Then they make it garbage by putting it on a cooldown with potions.
Does not absorb fall damage, or some environmental effects (e.g. lava).
The buff granted on using this item is
The absorption amount scales with level - it only absorbs about 32k at level 91.
I finally found a use for those stupid
that keep piling up from the Blingtron dailies:
! I've discovered that damage absorbed by the shield doesn't break the buff needed for the achievement. So here's what I did:
1. Accepted the two dailies at Deadtalker's plateau (Assault Deadtalker's plateau and Spirit Dust).
2. Killed the Crusher with a rocket.
3. Pulled the big packs of mobs by using the rocket on the Corpsedefiler , popping the shield, and aoeing the small guys down.
4. Once I had enough dust I just used the rocket on the remaining Corpsedefilers I needed then jumped off a cliff so I wouldn't have to kill the spirits. I used my Engineering tinker
but you can also use the
from Blingtron or just jump into water to avoid dying.
5. Turned in those quests and picked up the boss quest I needed (Uruk!).
6. Killed uruk with a shield and rocket.
7. Did the other firebarrel quests using the edge technique in other comments.
NOTE: The first hit you do on Uruk doesn't do any damage to him, so hit him with a ranged attack before using your rocket.
Hope this helped.
still works in Legion, good for low level alts
