The real trouble is finding a Silver-Plated Turkey to shoot.
New to the 2014 Pilgrim's Bounty holiday.
Just did all my dailies and quest and i cant seem to find the item any where. The vendors don't sell it either. All i can think of is that when you do the dailies you can pick a bag of goods as a reward. i wonder if the bag has the chance to drop it?
So far i'm clueless
This droped today for me from
, reward from one of the dailies.
Contained in the new
you get from the cooking daylies.
it's possible to use this item to complete
Good for dealing with all those pesky were-turkeys!
They keep dropping even once you're learned it!
No moar guns pls, 7 is enough, I want the pet QQ
This should be fun to use on all those people who use the word "huntard"
And here I thought they were finally moving away from RNG-ing all of the fun holiday stuff.
I've done 55 dailies across all my toons and still haven't see this drop.
If you're really getting desperate and running out of daily attempts, you can create a new dwarf character, walk to the gates of ironforge (or get a friend with a 2 person flying mount). Then give them 20 silver which is enough to learn cooking, learn spice bread and spice bread stuffing and buy the ingredients to make 20 stuffings and turn in the one daily. All this can be done in a couple of minutes standing right in front of Ironforge. (other than the walk/flight to the gates). You can then either delete the new dwarf and start again, or just make them on a different server and camp them all there to do it again the next day.
Did they ghost-nerf it? For a week or so when I, as usually, tried to use it on <censored> a**f*cks with big or paid or grindmounts - nothing happens. Or maybe the turkey can not mount up, therefore mounted characters can not be transformed to reduce their model to the size they so deserve?
Good, for those AFKers in front of auction houses, specially in Dalaran haha. When they return to the game, they'll see themselves turned. Can be used on members of other faction and anywhere. 5 min CD, 1 hour it lasts, probably even if the AFK person gets logged out, the buff 'freezes' and when he returns it may still have it.
Now, If we could use it on
If a shot person with
a hunter using
will turn into cooked turkey.
Has a small chance to drop from
. Now we can spread Turkey feather joy ALL year round <3
11x alts all max level with cooking up to to the dailies.
5 days of this event so far on 11 toons and no toy. Thats exactly 275 loot boxes opened and no toy. Oh well at least i've gotten enough pets to last me a lifetime. Gotta love the rng.
EDIT: 289th try got it! Good luck everyone!
Fact nr 2:
If you use
while in Turkey form, it will flap his little wings.
This is by far my favourite toy in the game, I use it all the time. It's fun to turkify AFK or players in the auction house, plus Shadowform priests turn into Shadowform turkeys.
One time I was waiting at a summoning stone on a PVP server and saw an Alliance mage starting to cast polymorph on me, I flew up on my mount in time to cancel it, then landed and hit him with a counter turkey. He cheered at me afterwards.
Wow 3% that explains a lot.
Got this today in my 22nd opened
, along with 3
in the process. Not sure if my lucky day or the drop rates are suddenly better
Wish you could use this item on yourself.
if you are late, you can still do all the achivements.
There are 5 different dailys, that can be done on each character each day. Assuming you are unlucky, and so far havent gotten the gun while doing dailys on your mains / alts this day. Goal is to get this gun, to be able to shoot all the different rogues. So focus on 2 dailies outside Stormwind. What you need to do is, make a lot of Sweet Potatos and Cranberry food. Ingredients from outside Ironforge and Darnassus. When you made the needed ingredients, go outside Stormwind. Make as many lvl1s you can, run them to daily quests outside Stormwind. Let someone else trade 20 of each to your lvl1 dudes (these cant be mailed) and you do this over and over again until you get this gun from the box. Good luck
Fact nr 3:
If a shot person with
on Demon Hunter, Turkey will have his gliding wings.
Got this item on my first try, for the 2017 Pilgrim's Fest.
Is the drop rate still as low as before?
For those still farming for this toy:
I am posting an updated version of the guide from long ago here.
Unlike the past, you can use Class Trial and repeat this process as many times as you want during the event.
Skill-up from 1 to 280 Cooking Skill with nothing but the Pilgrim recipes (Horde version)
(OP suggested starting from Org but you can also start from UC)
1.) Start off at the Pilgrim's Bounty Vendor ( Dalni Tallgrass ) at the area outside Orgrimmar
2.) Purchase the Bountiful Cookbook to get all the recipes you need to skill from 1 to 280
3.) Buy the mats and cook 85 x Spice Bread
4.) Buy the mats and cook 80 Spice Bread Stuffing
5.) Go to Undercity
6.) (Optional)Accept and do the Sharing a Bountiful Feast quest
7.) Accept Spice Bread Stuffing quest
8.) Cook your remaining 5 Spice Bread stuffing to complete that quest
9.) Turn in the Spice Bread Stuffing quest
10.) Accept the Pumpkin Pie quest
11.) Accept the We're out of Cranberry Chutney quest
12.) Buy enough pumpkins to cook 100 Pumpkin Pie
13.) Learn the Pumpkin Pie recipe and cook Pumpkin Pie until you hit 160 Cooking skill
14.) Learn the Cranberry Chutney recipe that you got from the Bountiful Cookbook
15.) Now would be a good time to either go do The Turkinator achievement or at least go kill some Wild Turkey in Tirisfal zone to get the Wild Turkey that you will need for the highest level cooking recipe.
16.) Once you have 20(or 25 if you want Turkey Caller at the end) Wild Turkey in your bags, go to Orgrimmar.
17.) Turn in the Pumpkin Pie quest and accept the Cranberry Chutney quest.
18.) Also accept the Can't Get Enough Turkey quest
19.) Cook enough Cranberry Chutney to get to 220 Cooking Skill
20.) Learn the Candied Sweet Potato recipe that you got from the Bountiful Cookbook.
21.) Make sure you still have enough mats to make 20 Cranberry chutney in your bags, but don't cook them now.
22.) Go to Thunder Bluff
23.) Turn in the Cranberry Chutney and accept the Candied Sweet Potatoes quest
24.) Accept the Easy as Pie quest and turn it in right away (you should still have about 80 Pumpkin Pie in your bags from before).
25.) Buy mats to cook 100 Candied Sweet Potato
26.) Cook Candied Sweet Potato until you reach 280 Cooking skill
27.) Learn the Slow-Roasted Turkey recipe that you got from the Bountiful Cookbook, but don't cook them yet.
28.) Go to Orgrimmar
29.) Turn in the Candied Sweet Potatoes quest and accept the Undersupplied in the Undercity quest
30.) Cook 20 Slow-Roasted Turkey to complete and turn in the Can't Get Enough Turkey quest.
31.) Go to Undercity.
32.) Turn in the Undersupplied in the Undercity quest
33.) Turn in the We're Out of Cranberry Chutney quest
34.) Turn in the She Says Potato quest which should earn you the Pilgrim's Progress achievement.
Now you should have all 5 Pilgrim's Bounty to open and below is optional.
Accept the Slow-Roasted Turkey quest and cook 5 Slow-Roasted Turkey.
Go to Orgrimmar and turn in the Slow-Roasted Turkey quest which will get you a Turkey Caller that will call a Lonely Turkey (You can kill the Lonely Turkey and get a Wild Turkey that can be cooked.)
A more recent way to farm this toy can be done by creating a fresh allied race character--preferably a highmountain tauren or nightborne. In doing so, you will be a portal away from the Orgrimmar Embassy and can mount up to get to the npc offering
without needing access to a
. On top of this, allied race characters start with 1 gold, more than enough to learn cooking, spice bread, and obtain the materials for stuffing. Finally, since these are fresh characters and not trial characters, you can make
as many as you want per hour
; remember that each wow account can only have
total characters on it.
Pros/cons of this method over class trials:
Self-sufficient. Don't need to mail any materials/gold
Quest can be completed at level 1 cooking. Other Pilgrim's Bounty Dailies require higher cooking (other comments have methods to reach 280 if you'd like)
No character creation limit; you can only make 4 class trials an hour+8 a week. Fresh allied races can be made as often as you want.
Fill up a server with 18 characters and still have enough gold for the whole event
You must have
to do this exact method.
Slower mount speed and no flying.
Only one of the dailies can be easily done on a fresh character: Stuffing.
addons will need to be disabled so you don't go crazy with endless new character profiles to set up
I just can't do it anymore. After years and years of farming for this on 2 to 5 characters every year, I just can't anymore. This has drained all of my will to try because of how tedious this is going between the cities. Even though it's a lot easier in BfA because of the Zuldazar portals and UC portal instead of the zeppelin, I still can't keep this up any longer. You win, Silver-Plated Turkey Shooter.
I believed in ApokalipsXIII's advice and finally got it. You lose, Silver-Plated Turkey Shooter.
I'm not sure if they've increased the drop-rate or not, I was scared after reading these comments, but I just wanted to add I've received 2 of these in a total of 8 dailies if this helps anyone. Received them in attempts 7 & 8.
After casually going for it over the course of a decade, I finally went all in tonight with a ton of alts and fresh Nightborne characters. Took me 61 attempts, so glad to get it done, my luck was horrible on this.
Since the event is nearing the end its time to start doing the allied race trick again.
Just for your own sanity make it a habbit to run past a mailbox and clear out your mail from the aniversary event so you can actually delete the char.
