Swiggity swooty, I'm coming for that booty!
Buy one for 300g from
on Pirate's Day, use it and you will lose gold... guarranteed! ;-)
First thing I do when I get this is gather up a bunch of noobs and have them fight over this in the Gurubashi Arena.
I wonder if this counts as looting gold... probably is.
Which would make it exploitable for gold looting achievements; you know, for people that love looting gold, but hate keeping it.
Throw on ground, wait for enemy, snipe.
Shut up and take my money!
Cool a money bomb. Drop it and folks around will love you!
As you all know, Argent Dawn's Goldshire is the place where noobies and erpers hang out. When you trow it you will get booty guaranteed! And alot of thank you wispers...
During Pirate's day you can buy a "Big Bag of Booty" from Dread Captain DeMeza. This will cost you 300g. What it does is that it spreads almost all of the 300g (around 285) into small piles of gold on the floor. This counts towards your
One of those items I have to buy because in 6 months maybe it would be turned into a toy or not. <_<
If you use it and gather everything you'll lose about 10-15 gold
Each one of these
and is consumed on use.
When used, it produces several gold piles. In total it
drops around 285g
It can be picked up by cross-realm players and players on opposing factions.
This means you can gift your friends gold, regardless of server or faction differences.
it occurred to me that they seem to be balanced to lose around 5% gold value on use, similar to AH tax.
, is new to Pirates Day 2015. It is sold by
in Booty Bay, on top of the bank roof (
). The cost is 300g each.

Here is some further information regarding this item:
This item is consumable, and stacks to 10, but there is no limit to the number stacks you can buy.
This item can be traded, mailed or listed on the Auction House.
These items DO NOT require Pirates Day to be active - they will remain in your bags/bank indefinitely until used
Using the item produces a targeting reticle; once this is clicked, 14-15 piles of gold are scattered around this point on the ground. These piles can be looted, and each despawns after it is looted.
The size of the pile that is produced corresponds to the amount of gold in the pile.
produce 3 big gold piles, 5 medium gold piles, and 6-7 small gold piles.
Large gold piles contain 45-50g, medium piles contain 20-25g, and small piles contain 4-5g.
The gold piles will automatically despawn after approximately 65 seconds if not looted.
The gold piles can be looted by anyone, including players from the opposite faction or players from other realms.
The gold looted counts towards looting achievements like
Throwing the item at a wall or in water will produce the visual effect, but
no piles of gold will spawn
The implications of the above information are that you can
transfer gold to another server
(by dropping these in your garrison and having a grouped friend on said server loot them) or you can gun for the aforementioned looting achievements with the gold you have!
Note that you do either of these things at a 4-6% loss of gold.
Now you wonder where are hidden all these tens of thousands of gold coins that you carry around.
DO NOT DROP THIS BAG IN STORMWIND'S CITY HALL.
The gold piles literally just disappear immediately. Oh the irony...
If you are like me and planing to use these bags to transfer more gold when doing server transfer (after all 2.8-2.9k secured gold per bag slot that can be transfered) and you don't wanna go through pain of double clicking or shift buying from vendor use this macro:
/run for i=1,GetMerchantNumItems() do local l=GetMerchantItemLink(i) if l then if l:find("Big Bag of Booty") then BuyMerchantItem(i, 10)end end end
If you change name in find("Name here") and BuyMerchantItem(i, number of items) you can use it for other vendors/items aswell.
This item brings a new term to "Shut up and take my money!"
throw these into water unless you want to throw away 300g. They disappear upon exploding (i.e. no gold piles appear).
it can't be mailed crossed faction, the only way to do it is to drop it from a second account to the opposing faction....pretty lame
They seem to despawn fairly quickly if not looted, so don't waste too much time marveling at all the shinies.
Worth noting that if you throw these at a wall, no piles will spawn.
So throw them on the ground unless you literally want to throw away your money!
Also avoid letterboxes, because if a gold pile spawns near one, most likely you won't be able to interact with the pile (but get the letterbox instead!)
Using these repeatedly is a cheesy (if not long) way of getting
I bought 2, went and dropped one in the Crossroads, one in Brill. People seemed to enjoy. :)
Not sure if it cause it's over or what but they only give 1.5G for big piles and 50 silvers on the little oners.
Whatever you do, DO NOT try using this in an instance. I tried with a friend of mine in Zul'Gurub (twice) and only got about 50g both times. Then we tested for a third time outside the instance and got something closer to 280g. So make sure you're somewhere safe outside an instance.
How to avoid running around to collect the piles, having it spawn in just ONE spot.
I saw this on the AH today. My hope in humanity shot up tremendously.
We can sell about 300 gold through the sale of this bag. But it was on the AH for 65k gold kek
when the bliz launcher links directly to wowhead...
Standing on a pillar or a raised small platform will put all the gold piles in one spot so you can spam click them.
I used the flower pots in Suramar at cords 49.79, 49.93
The reason to use these at a slight average loss is to accellerate the
achievement. The money counts as having been looted, at about 275 or so gold per 300 spent.
