Turn these in to
to start a Garden work order.
Completing this work order on Beta (Build 6.0.1) I received:
Is there a way to get herbs from this garden without having the scale, such as the way you can loot mine carts with the mining garrison?
You can get these by harvesting the plants in your herbal garden located at your garrison, you don't need herbalism to harvest the flowers.
Im level 676 and still have not found a Draenic Seed. Am I doing something wrong?
To get these, you need to have completed
(A), which unlocks the herb garden, but requires level 96. (Herbalists can't accumulate them before hand.) Each herbalism work order consumes five Draenic Seeds.
Once your herb garden is unlocked, you get them by farming herb nodes in Draenor. Characters without Herbalism can only farm the nodes inside their herb garden. For those with high level Herbalism, whether the node is inside or outside the garden doesn't seem to matter. I don't know if characters with low level Herbalism get as many Draenic Seeds per node when farming outside the garden or not. They will be more likely to farm inferior herbs, e.g.,
Added: I agree with the responses. I was frustrated because I wasn't getting any Draenic Seeds, even though
acted as if I could turn them in to her before the herb garden was unlocked. I assume that
does the same.
I can put
, but I can't put
. Does it need to work like that?
Still a little confused as to why the drop rate on these isn't higher...I get between 30-40 stones from the mine between nodes, rich nodes, and carts, and only about 20 of the seeds a day (if im lucky). Yesterday wasn't even enough for 4 work orders :(
Edit: Talking about level 2 of each
So this might not be the best place, but it's a start. I don't have herbalism or gathering as a prof and i don't want it. Yet the Herb garden seems to be a fixed building. If it would produce enough seeds on its own to keep the work orders flowing, it might be ok, but it does not. The garden either needs to produce sufficient enough sends like the mine does stone, or we need to be able to exchange that building for something else. I can't buy the seeds on the open market like dust if I need it for my trading post orders, so it's an inefficient enterprise.
SO I guess Merchant Greenfield was prohibited from doing trade in Draenor, because of his low quality, contaminated seeds. I think the only reason he is still allowed to do business in halfhill is because he is a panda and related to someone on the farmers council. Probably somebodys, wife's, neer-do-well brother!
At any rate, these plots are vermin free and the seeds aren't contaminated with vine and weed seeds.
With 15 level 90s (or higher) the plants come in handy on my 2 alchemists and 2 scribes. (it basically doubles the number of Items I can make, in a 1 week *or so* period.) 100k for a staff times 2 isn't something to scoff at! Plus it supplies me with all the potions I need and ink for glyphs. To be honest, picking herbs off even 5 farms will get me more than I could by actually picking them in the wild. Herbs seem to be very widely spaced in Draenor, not like other zones where you could just follow a nice route and gather all you wanted.
When you assign a follower to the
, and then speak to
to start work orders, it says "Follower bonus active!" in green in the lower left of the window. So assigning a follower appears to boost work order output here, as it does with the crafting buildings, even though that's not documented anywhere. However I cannot confirm the effect because for the moment I'm saving up my seeds.
There seems to be a good amount of comments explaining the details regarding these seeds.
As a non herbalist, the amount you loot per day is underwhelming to say the least. Nevertheless, looting 500 is required for the achievement
. Once you loot 500 and the achievement is unlocked, you can purchase the level 3 blueprints from the blueprint vendor at your garrison. Note: you only have to loot this amount, not start or complete work orders so it is possible to do this quicker than a non herbalist if you are one.
This allows you to upgrade to a level 3 Herb Garden.
Is there anything else that we can buy with seeds besides doing work orders? I thought I seen somewhere that you could buy something for seeds?
So, after a few months of WoD, i'm stuck with 80 stacks of 500 Draenic Seeds each and nothing to do with them. Should I keep them in case they decide to give us a reason on why to keep them or just destroy them?
While the Draenic Stones can be vendored for 30g/stack, the herbalisim counterpart are totally useless and can only be destroyed.
Estimates of the two ways to monetizing your
, if you don't want the items they can be traded for:
You can buy the
pet for 1,000
from the vendor by your garrison's garden, learn the pet, cage the pet, then trade it to people or sell it on the AH. According to the auction house tracking website The Undermine Journal,
Crazy Carrot's median buyout price
across US realms was 1249.5 gold as of July 28, 2015. So if you sell it for that, you're getting about
1.25 gold per seed.
As with other cageable pets, you can cage and sell the pet on a different realm, using a character on that realm who is on the same battle.net account, if that's where you'd prefer to have your gold.
You can alternatively turn in
to the work order NPC by your garrison's garden, 5 seeds per work order, 4 hours waiting per work order, to generate 5 herbs and an average of 2
s per work order. (Approximately 8 herbs and 2 Apexis Crystals per work order if you have an
follower assigned to your garden). So if WoD herbs sell for around 1 gold per herb on your realm, you can make
1 gold per seed
, plus about 0.4 Apexis Crystals per seed as a bonus. (Apexis Crystals can't be easily/quickly converted to gold - the items you buy with them are soulbound and also require gold to purchase, and vendoring them results in a net loss; however, there are some reputation-requirement pets that can be caged and sold on the AH for a net profit).
Overall the Crazy Carrot seems slightly more profitable, and a good deal quicker, though it depends on your realm's current market conditions.
I'm surprised by the emptiness of the comment section ^^ Legion prepatch is already out!
But here I'm fixing it.
Draenic seeds are a random loot you get from gathering herbs in Draenor.
If you collect 500x seeds account wide, you get an achievement:
You can gather herbs without Herbalism thanks to
You can trade them for random herbs talking with
who sells farm tools and
7.0.3 undocumented change: Draenic Seeds now stack to 1000, up from 500.
After some experimentation I've found
the best place to farm
post-WoD. There's far less space between nodes than any other zone. There's not even any competition from levelers! Every other zone had me alt-tabbing between nodes, but I've just been flying from herb to herb in Tanaan and I've yet to encounter any shortage.
You also get a chance at
, which might make you a little money.
As a rough guess I'm gathering about
75 seeds every 10 minutes
which... really doesn't make the transmog seem too far out of reach.
For anyone still needing to farm these, as of patch 9.2.5, in one hour of farming with
(as recommended by the commenters below) I managed to obtain 505 seeds in exactly one hour in Tanaan Jungle.
