From the tooltip icon, I would guess that this creates a trinket. The icon is the same as

I tried it this morning - and yes, I used it on the token and not the trinket.
ETA: Confirmed by a GM (via support ticket) to be working as intended; this isn't a bug. The only way to obtain the 535 version of the trinkets is to buy one for 50,000 coins.
On my Balance Druid (Loot Specialization set to "Current (Balance)") I received the healer version of the trinket,
. I was expecting to get
- has anyone else received the healer trinket instead of the caster one? Or was I just unlucky?
For those looking to get Yulon's Bite on their Balance Druid - be wary!
Presumably, as the trinkets these create are unique-equipped, there's no point using two of these on the same toon.
Can anyone confirm this?
You cannot use the Burden of Eternity on it, so you will have to buy the 535 trinket versions with 50k coins. It is also unique-equipped, so you can't use two of any type.
(use) transforms this into one of these:
- DPS (Agility)
- DPS (Strength)
- DPS (Intellect)
Also you can buy
...and don't forget about the other trinkets that you can buy for valor (
), justice (
) or honor (
) points if you're looking for some.
*Personal note: For iLvl 496 there are no new purchaseable +stamina trinkets except for PVP (list#3).*
All items start with iLvl 496.
CAN'T be used on these but on all the other "timeless" items.
It will upgrade the chosen one to iLvl 535 and be consumed in the process.

Tested Burden of Eternity on Curio, you CAN use it, which means you can see the cast bar, but in the end, red letters pop out saying "That item is not a valid target."
so, don't worry about miss-clicks and such!
If you've got a tank spec character like a Blood DK and you want to use two Timeless Curios you wont be able to unless you swap specs before activating the second one. I activated one in Blood spec then one in Unholy spec and was able to equip the Alacrity of Xuen and Resolve of Niuzao at the same time, otherwise they're unique-equipped. ;o) Might as well get the most out of free gear!
A useful way to use these
, if you only have one 90, or for whatever reason you don't like mailing things to other characters (yeah, people have told me they like their characters to be independent....), and your main is a healer, is to double up on the trinket. (Sorry for those classes who have all 3 roles DPS....)
For example, say you have a Holy Priest.
Any priest who normally heals, and wants a full set of holy gear, would have their loot spec on Holy or Discipline
all the time.
If WoW gives you the right trinket, expect to get 1
. Now, you go and farm rep in the Blazing Way or whatever, and boom, another
drops! You're probably thinking, "Oh, well, since I have no other 90, and no character close to 90", or "Since my other 90 has full ToT heroic gear, and this is useless for him....", or any version of that. You probably think to make the trinket and DE it, or sell it.
Change your loot specialty to an opposite! If you're disc, don't, for the love of god, make it Holy. Make it Shadow. If you're Frost, don't make it Unholy, make it Blood.
Make your second trinket, which will be a DPS trinket. Or, if you're normally DPS, this might be a healing or tanking trinket.
Personally, my gear sucked before the Timeless Isle, so I had a 458 Healing trinket. A 496 DPS trinket is still much better than a 458 Healing one, because both have Intellect, increasing the power of your spells, and critical strike, which is also useful. It might not be ideal, but it's a good use of the second
. Don't waste it, make a piece of gear for an alternative spec. Who knows, in patch 5.5 you might come to love this new spec and play it, and boom, you already have some 496 gear.
Because roles have inter-mixed stats (Frost and Blood benefit from the same stats, as does Holy and Shadow, as does Retribution and Protection), a second trinket with a much higher ilvl for a different role, is still better than a crappy trinket for your own role.
Has this bug been fixed?
"On my Balance Druid (Loot Specialization set to "Current (Balance)") I received the healer version of the trinket, Contemplation of Chi-Ji. I was expecting to get Yu'lon's Bite - has anyone else received the healer trinket instead of the caster one? Or was I just unlucky?
For those looking to get Yulon's Bite on their Balance Druid - be wary!"
I want to buy the chi-ji healing trinket for 50k coins and I have a curio I want to use for the i496 DPS Bite trinket. I really don't want to waste a curio if it's just going to drop a chi-ji even if I'm in moonkin spec.
If you're unsure as to whether or not you can use two Timeless Curios, click your
Specialization and Talents
button at the bottom of your screen. When the window pops up, select the
tab at the bottom. This window then shows the 3 specializations available for your class. Under each specialization name it will tell you what role it plays,
Tank, Healer, or Damage (DPS)
. Two Timeless Curios can only be used at the same time if you have
two different roles
picked as your primary and secondary specializations. If you don't have two different roles picked, but your class does have two available, you can go to your class trainer and reset one of the ones that you have for the one that is different.
It is better to get the trinket in another spec than waste it selling. It raises your iLv anyway, and when it raises stats that are all-round useful (haste, mastery), it can be used in all specs.
This is confirmed in Mr. Robot calculations (try yourself) and PVP trinkets and gear work that way too. Yes, it is better to use pvp gear at high level than use PVE gear that is sorely outdated.
Make sure you're in the right spec before you use this.
I got one on my druid and wanted to use it for tanking off-spec. I forgot to switch first.
This is the response I got when I opened a ticket for restoration:
The rewards from the Timeless Isle items are random and are awarded based on your your current spec or loot specialization. Since these items provide random stats, we aren't able to replace the item because it was used while in the wrong spec.
On the bright side you are now free to use that item for your other spec. Keep trying to get those Timeless Isle items to work on getting a new Curio.
Until the next time we chat I shall leave you with this...

You can only equip 1 of those!
So don't do the same misstake i did.
