Could this work with legendaries?
I think this glyph is the reward for
Part of the chain has you collecting
, and check out the flavor text. Swapping weapons? That's what this glyph does.
Nothing says hysterical like doing a mighty shout and pulling out a
to slay your enemies.
Did someone say
Applying this glyph will grant Warriors the ability to temporarily "transmog" current weapon into a random weapon in the users bags by use of the
other weapon in your bags will guarantee its item transmog effect.
- For DW, one shout transforms 2 weapons at the same time if you have 2 or more weapons on the backpack, but it's not possible to transform 2 weapons into the same model (like your both weapons into the same weapon);
- The buff lasts 10 minutes;
- Weapon enchants are not transferred nor retained.
What used to work:
- Worked for PvP weapons even without the FoS or rank 8 RBG (changed on patch 6.0.2);
- Worked for grey weapons;
- Worked for Legendaries; ("fixed" on the lastest build)
- Worked for ranged weapons (1h and 2h INTO Ranged); ("fixed" on the lastest build)
- 1h weapon turned into 2h and vice-versa; ("fixed" on the lastest build)
- Different weapon animations were ignored (ie: 2h sword into polearm and staff, 1h axe into fist and dagger);
It took a very underwhelming turn and the warrior community felt it. This glyph really is nothing more than a quick transmog button anymore. Its unique usefulness might be for those who don't have rank 8 or hate weapon enchants. Either way, very disappointed by how this turned out.
never had a reason to gind for the
Twin Blades of Azzinoth
... until now.
This might seem obvious, since the glyph clearly states primary bag, but just to confirm through testing, this only works with weapons in your 16 slot
, weapons in other bags in your inventory do not count.
Also, as an interesting side effect of this glyph currently, if you have a weapon equipped that is transmogrified normally, and you don't have any weapons, or any eligible weapons, in your backpack, then your weapon will lose its transmogrification for the duration of the 10min buff given by the glyph.
- Weapon enchants are not transferred nor retained.
to borrow a quote from sc2.
"hell, it's about time."
5.4's been out for about a week, here's a list of the rules based on PTR testing and release reporting:
Legendaries don't work.
Ranged Weapons don't work.
Glyphmogged weapons require the number of hands to be moggable.
Polearms, Staves, Fishing Poles can be Glyphmogged from other 2H weapons
Daggers can be Glyphmogged from other 1H weapons. Fist weapons were removed a few weeks before release
Weapons that can otherwise not be Transmogged but don't break the previous rules seem to reportedly work. Examples: fishing poles, fish weapons, brewfest steins, Shadow's edge.
The Glyph is not as great as it original was or could be, but it does still have some use, even if it is limited.
Edit: As of 8/18 Fist weapons can no longer be glyphmogged. I've got no use for this glyph anymore.
Edit the second: 5.4, I have updated the list a bit to reflect live conditions, I am trying daily to get a glyph to test it myself but am unsuccessful. If anything changes I'll try to keep on it.
Legendaries are out of the question now as of the latest changes, but the first 16 slots in my bag shall now hold most of my Moggable 2H weapons I've collected over the years for my Fury Warrior. At least now I can use that space for more Tier sets in the Void Storage instead of weapons.
How does it interact with shields?
Since, as we all know, shields are just another type of blunt weaponry.
I checked 2 days ago 8/20/13, and if you have not completed the shadowmourne quest chain and have shadow's edge; it can be used with this glyph to change your two handed weapons to look like shadow's edge. Even though on live you cannot transmog shadow's edge.
it does work for
seemed to bug it out
will also sometimes show your current weapon's default skin
This glyph can be used for great comedic value if anything. At the moment you can use it with a two hander to glyphmogg it into a fishing pole or any other vanity two hander. You can glyphmogg a one hander into any of the fish weapons such as
as well as as the brewfest steins such as
and I sure there are alot of items out there I haven't though about yet. Another thing is that you can glyphmogg two hander axes/maces/swrods with titan`s grip to polearms/staves.
Character disguises and similar effects cancels the effect.
Cancelling the effect manually (by right-clicking the buff) seems to remove the enchant visual effect on your main-hand weapon.
Now, I have encountered a...Interesting little bug of sorts with this glyph that does make it cool for 1h users such as tanks
What you need is a back mounted weapon such as say
and transmog your current weapon into it, with the weapon you want to weapon-master with in your bag. Then use a shout.
You should find that your one hander has swapped to the other weapon
Back Mounted, no less.
You can also undo the buff, to have what the weapon you have equipped currently on your back with the transmog removed.
This will no doubt prove an awesome glyph for those that like a bit of style with their weapon sheathing, or Roleplayers most likely.
I've also uploaded a screenshot , which should show it off with the
too. In that example I used the tanking heirloom sword for my transmog look.
This glyph is great, despite people calling it crap because it doesn't transform into legendaries. Yeah it's a real bummer, I agree (how many people actually have legendaries anyway?).
Besides, there's still a number of uses for this item. For example, like mentioned in the comments, if your weapon sheaths on your back and you transform it with this glyph, your transformed weapon will also sheath to your back. Personally I this feature to be the sweetest because that means I can put Maladath or Quel'serrar on my back.
You'll also save lots of money, assuming you're as transmog crazy as I am. If you're interested in how an item will look on your character you can just shout to try it out.
And finally, there aren't any other minor glyphs that can rival this at all.
edit: It doesn't work for shields, which might have been obvious but I just wanted to point that out.
I have to add that you can actually use this glyph to transmog your weapon into something you cannot yet use.
For example we could have a level 30 guy running with Lionheart mog he bought from AH.
Haha what a joke. The buff actually goes away when you zone. And if you remove the buff, it will revert back to your default weapon model, removing any transmog visual you have on it. Absolutely ridiculous. If I wanted to show off while I stood in one spot I could just equip the actual weapons. Dual wielding
is awesome....when you can get the trick to actually dual wield one weapon model to work...but since it goes away when you zone, who cares.
Fascinatingly, you can use this glyph to transmog a fishing pole into a 2h weapon, and then fish with it!
If you equip a fishing pole, then glyphmog it and try to fish, your character will use the new model as a fishing pole, and you'll effectively be able to fish with an axe, sword, or whatever valid 2h weapon you'd like to transmog it into. There is no fishing line going from the "fishing pole" to the bobber, but aside from that, it works as a normal fishing pole would.
I've uploaded a screenshot of this in effect.
This CAN also be used to 'transmog' to the lvl 60 warlord's gear. Which is not possible with traditional transmogrification.
I'm currently using this to change my weapon to
Because sometimes transmogrification just don't do the trick.
Darkmoon "Sword" works too.
Okay, did I some how brake this?
I cannot get anything in my bag to transform. I use a 2h sword and I've tried 2h axes and swords - it stays the same no matter what I do.
If you want your transmogrified weapon across your back or at your hip you can use this Glyph to achieve that. For instance I have always wanted my Replica Grand Marshal's Longsword across my back but could never get that. I transmogrified my weapon to the Quickening Blade of the Prince which lays across the back and I used the Glyph with the Replica Grand Marshal's Longsword in my bag and I got the Replica Grand Marshal's Longsword across my back!
You can use this to change the appearance of an equipped legendary weapon to something else if you wanted to.
Something quite interesting happens with this glyph when a warrior equips a two-handed weapon in his/her main hand and a shield in the other. Try it!
Moral of the story. A white and blue rubix cube appears and everyone around him/her is immediately envious.
There's a funny little way you can "glitch" your two-handed weapon with this glyph, but you're gonna need ( at least ) a polearm for this as well.
Step 1: Equip a polearm.
Step 2: Ensure you have a two-handed weapon in your backpack. ( Haven't tested with 1H's )
Step 3: Use FUS- a-hem, any of your shout abilities. ( Battle/Commanding Shout )
Step 4: Laugh at your weapon.
Sadly, no longer works (unless bugged) in 6.0 on High Warlord / Grand Marshal lvl 60 2h'ers or Shadow's Edge.
I'm a Fury and I can't seem to figure out how to get both of my weapons to take the appearance of the same weapon from my bags. I remember being able to do it in MoP, but now I just can't. I can only get one of my weapons to transform at a time, anyone know what to do?
Not only can you get the appearance of a weapon that's higher level than your character's level, the weapons you put in your backpack don't need to be soulbound either (nor do they turn soulbound by using the glyph, of course).
If you're like me and love
, you're out of luck. Doesn't work
Could anyone tell me if it is working again with legendaries as of 7.0?
This currently works on Shadow's Edge!
Who thought it was a good idea to move this glyph to a spell with a 1 minute cooldown :/
As of patch 7.1 can be used in Protection spec again!
Edit: Updated with Screenshot
When your 1 hander has taken on the appearance of a weapon that can't have a chant you won't see your chant or chant mog on it, as seen in the screenshot, however, when it takes on the appearance of a weapon that can have a chant you'll see it through the weaponmaster buff. This wasn't the case prior to patch 7.
Pretty much the only way to dual-wield Strom'kar as Fury, at the moment.
Also note, any Enchanting Illusions you have on your
weapon, will carry over to the weapon appearance pulled out of your bags.
As of 7.1.5 it (still) doesn't work with legendaries. Tried with Shadowmourne.
1. Glyphmog a polearm
2. Swap to Protection
3. Ten minutes of Sparta
I've found out completely by accident that this works on wands if you're a protection warrior. I ran a low level dungeon for a sword and picked up a want off a trash mob and when I went to glypmog with the sword I'd come to get I got the wand instead! Its a little buggy though, when you use abilities with your main hand your shield disappears and then when you do an ability with your shield you swing your empty arm and your weapons sheath for a moment with he shield appearing on your back before disappearing again when you draw the wand to use an ability with your main hand. Auto attacks are barehanded but still use the sword swinging animation.
Dose not seem to work with fishing poles anymore, and dose not work with
for some reason even though it works with
just fine. With a fishing pole, and the 3 white items being my only weapons in my bags, it just never changed the look of my weapon. When I had the pitchfork in my bag it always switched to that.
If you had this glyph on going into patch 8.0 there is currently no way to remove it(or learn it) as battle cry doesn't exist anymore
However battle shout still triggers it even though in the spellbook theres no mark on the button indicating a glyph has been applied.
As of 8.0.1 8/25/2018, despite what the tooltip says, this glyph is NOT applied to battle cry as it no longer exists nor is it applied to battle shout which is baseline to all warriors. It is now applied to Recklessness making it fury only. Through limited testing, I learned that you can not transform two-handed weapons into one-handed weapons and you cannot transform your 2 handed weapons into a regular fishing pole.
only works for fury spec
only transforms into 2H weapons
blizzard hates it when we try to have fun
This doesn't seem to work on offhand weapons anymore. Perhaps it's intentional, perhaps a bug.
Either way, I'm bummed I can't run around out of combat with two Garden Shovels, and suddenly have two Cataclysm's Edges when combat starts. :(
Doesn't work with your off-hand weapon (contrary to many out-dated comments here, regarding Legion Artifact Weapons).
Doesn't work with Arms'
Shield* (even if it were still activated via shouts).
Doesn't work with Shields...at all (nor did it ever).
Doesn't work with Arms or Protection, anymore (though, this seems more like typical Blizzard half-assed-ness, rather than well thought out intent)
Doesn't work with weapons such as
(probably its most grievous offense yet!).
DOESN'T WORK WITH FUN.
*) Which you totally pull out of your ass anyway!
Here's a fun quirk I discovered. If you are an Arms warrior who
to have Recklessness/Legion Battle Cry glyphed,
can still set off the weaponmaster effect when you cast your other cooldowns. A bit annoying since I can't use a vanishing powder to get rid of the glyph because it's not even in my Arms spellbook anymore! (And no, I can't even switch to Fury to remove it because it counts as a different version for glyph purposes.)
