Has anyone tried to get the 2 set bonus 2 times?

Like getting 2 items (let's say head and gloves) from Gladiator's Redemption for 35 resillience.

AND 2 items from Gladiator's Aegis (let's say chest and shoulders) for another 35 resillience as set bonus for a total of 70 resillience as set bonus?

the point is this: 4 piece set bonus is kind of useless for a holy pala, or at least +35 res. would be way better ...

In order to cpmpare the T4 Healer Set and the Arena Healer Set you have to do some basic calculations first. The main "problem" is to translate spellcrit to + heal and mp5. Therefore you have to consider the following terms (for holy Paladin with illumination before Patch 2.1.0):

1 % spellcrit = 21 spellcritrating
= +0,5 % extraheal from
spells and
6 mp5 (for Flash of Light =FoL) or
17 mp5 (for Holy Light =HL)

Also, 80 int gives additional 1 % spellcrit

Arena Healer
+heal 220 (basic)
mp5 0 (basic)
int 125
crit% 5,28% (basic for HL)
7,28% (basic for FoL)

T4 Healer
+ heal 347 (basic)
mp5 19 (basic)
int 145
crit 2,62 % (basic)

including the int- bonus you get an "absolut crit" for the sets of
6,84% for HL
8,84% for FoL for Arena Healer

and 4,43% for T4 Healer

Two Pallys with exactly the same equip (except the 5 setpieces Arena or T4) are spamming healspells, for example:

Arena Healer casts 1200 FoL and 3000 HL

T4 Healer casts 1264 FoL and 3127 HL (because T4 has + 127 Healing compared to Arena)

Calculation of absolut + heal:

Arena set gives 8,84% crit for FoL and 6,84% crit, thats +53,04 Heal at FoL and +102,6 heal for HL ... now you have to add the basic +healing of the Arena Set (+110/220) and you recieve

healing absolut FoL +163
healing absolut HL +322

T4 Healer Set gives 4,43% crit, thats +27,99 heal for FoL and +69,26 healing for HL + basichealing =

healing absolut FoL +203
healing absolut HL +416

Calculation of absolut mp5:

Arena Set has 8,84% crit for FoL, that equals
8,84x 6 mp5 = 53,4 mp5 for FoL-spam
or
6,84x 17 mp5 = 116,26 mp5 for HL-spam

T4 Healer has +19 mp5 Basic + 4,43% crit, that equals = 45,6 mp5 for FoL-spam or = 94,3 mp5 for HL-spam

Result:
Arena Healer has
+163 Healing and 53 Mp5 for FoL
+322 Healing and 116 Mp5 for HL

T4 Healer has
+203 Healing and 45 Mp5 for FoL
+416 Healing and 94 Mp5 for HL

Finally you can say:
The Arena Set has about
+305 Armor
+51 Stam (!!!!)
-20 Int
+146 Resilience
ca. -40 to 80 + Heal (depends on healing FoL/HL)
ca. +10 to 20 Mp5

With the upcomming Patch 2.1.0 the illumination- talent of Holy Paladins will be nerfed :-( You will only regain 50% of the healspell-mana. If this happens, T4 and Arena Healer set will have nearly the same mp5 (+/- 5 mp5). But i`m not going to proof this and calculate all this again :o))

I would prefer the Arena Healing set. In PvE bossfights healers are getting damage too... think about the aura of Lohateb, Bosses with random aggro, Gruul Stone-rain, AOE bosses etc, etc,etc... +51 Stam and 146 Resilience can do a lot to help you survive such a bossfight ! In addition + heal and mp5 of both sets do not differ so much.

But make your own choice ^^ .but still, it's up to you whether this is worth it to get, and if you think it's too difficult, well...you can always take the easy route and get it fast at: http://www.yehforgames.com/wow/arena/paladin.htm

This set is available for honor points and BG marks of honor with the 2.3 patch now on PTR. prices are as follows:

Chest: 14,500 honor and 30 AB marks of honor
Gauntlets: 10,500 honor and 20 AV marks of honor
Helm: 14,500 honor and 30 AV marks of honor
Leggings: 14,500 honor and 30 WSG marks of honor
Shoulders: 11,250 honor and 20 AB marks of honor

Mostly a healing set, if you are a shockadin though, the Aegis (Lammelar) set is better.

This set will no longer be purchasable in patch 2.4 (when S4 starts). However if you already have the set or the pieces of this set, you'll be able to keep them.

The Merciless Gladiator sets will replace the Gladiator set to be purchasable for honor points. They'll cost the same amount of honor points and marks of honor as the previous Gladiator set.

Where did you get that info? I just got my S2 Shield from the same guy in Area 52 on the same day that patch 2.4 was released (yesterday). I haven't read anywhere about 2.4 being the start of Arena Season 4. If it was truly like you said then I would have had to go to the Champion's Hall in SW to get the S2 Shield.

Edit: Quoted from smack80 under the Shattered Sun Offensive faction comments:

"Q. Where do I buy Season 4 gear?
A. Patch 2.4 and the SSO have absolutely nothing to do with arena season 4! Season 4 was not announced with patch 2.4 at any time! Stop asking this!"

Once Season 4 hits (Expected to be May, or early Jun), this set will probably no longer be available, and the S2 sets will be made available for purchase with marks instead.

With the arrival of Season 4, Season 1 gear is no longer purchasable with Honor and Marks. However, you can still purchase these from Karynna on the Isle of Quel'Danas using Tier 4 Tokens. Here is the requirement for each piece in the set:

Chestguard: 1 Chestguard of the Fallen Champion
Gloves: 1 Gloves of the Fallen Champion
Headcover: 1 Helm of the Fallen Champion
Legplates: 1 Leggings of the Fallen Champion
Spaulders: 1 Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion

Arena Season 1 Set (lvl 70) .
You can obtain these items from 打击者科吉克 in 虚空风暴 for 750 or1000 .For people who can't be bothered looking through Area 52 for him, he is inside the building closest to the flight point, obviously inside the walls.

You can also purchase these items from 卡蕾娜 in 奎尔丹纳斯岛 with appropriate token . Here is a list where you can obtain them.
