Best Havoc Demon Hunter Talent Builds
Looking for a quick Havoc Demon Hunter build? This is the right one for you! However, if you are looking into something more specific like serious raiding or Mythic+ Dungeons, check other builds below.
If you have an Enhancement Shaman in your group dropping
for you, this build improves significantly!
The standard go-to build for Havoc for both Raiding and Mythic +
Tier 1 Talents (Level 15) for Havoc DH
: Extremely good talent, buffing one of our best spells by 50% while generating a lot of Fury.
: With the change to the Chaos Strike refund in BFA, this talent was affected quite a lot. The fragment generation is pretty consistent.
: Moderate damage and a small charge that also generates a good chunk of Fury. A competitive talent; the extra Fury generation is extremely strong as it helps the rotation feel fuller.
Tier 2 Talents (Level 25) for Havoc DH
: A simple talent, Demons Bite generates up to 10 additional Fury per cast.
: New talent that basically replicates the old Immolation Aura talent. The extra Fury generation is comparable to the other options with an added cleave DPS on top.
: This talent replaces your
ability, thereby removing your ability to actively generate Fury, replacing it with a
-like proc off of your auto attacks. This talent has insane synergy with the newly added
as it not only increases the damage but also increases the fury generation.
Tier 3 Talents (Level 30) for Havoc DH
: Another simple talent: every time you
you also apply a DoT to your targets.
: A returning former Azerite trait removed at the start of BFA as a talent and changed again. This talent plays into the core promise of Havoc being a fast paced mobile melee spec perfectly. Remember to look around you when playing this talent so you don't Fel Rush into bad stuff or your worst enemy ... the edge of platforms.
: Another old ability returning: this time it's the return of the Legion Artifact ability. Quite simple and straight forward to use and simple to manage.
Tier 4 Talents (Level 35) for Havoc DH
: The true gem within this talent is the 10% passive leech it provides, reducing the burden on healing while making you more sturdy . Always a good option to have!
: This talent is great for multiple reasons. The additional damage reduction to the already powerful
is amazing, as well as the second part of the spell that will automatically trigger when you fall below 35%.
: Who doesn’t love an immunity? Unfortunately, it also causes you to be unable to attack while it is active. Can be especially useful in raids for blocking highly lethal damage sources or ignoring certain encounter mechanics.
Tier 5 Talents (Level 40) for Havoc DH
: A straightforward talent once again. Every Chaos Strike refund will also reduce the cooldown of Eye Beam. This talent will mostly cater to high haste builds using Unbound Chaos. More procs = more Eye Beam = higher uptime on Furious Gaze = more Haste = lower cooldown on Immolation aura = more Unbound Chaos damage. Using this talent completely eliminates Blade Dance from the rotation.
: Same the old First Blood; no changes from the talent we all loved from Legion, reducing the cost of Blade Dance and increasing its damage to your primary target.
: A nice update to the previous version, Dark Slash. Make sure that when you use this talent you store a large amount of Fury before activating it to maximize the number of Chaos Strikes / Blade Dances used inside the buff window.
Tier 6 Talents (Level 45) for Havoc DH
: A simple talent, as most of the first column are. Removes the fury cost of our AoE stun and reduces the cooldown. Very good for M+ in particular.
: This talent will have niche situations where it will shine, but outside of those situations where a snare is absolutely needed, this talent is weak.
: is still a decent talen -- the damage is OK. The biggest use is the single target stun, but Unleashes Power will generally be the go-to talent.
Tier 7 Talents (Level 50) for Havoc DH
: A strong talent if you need burst every 30 seconds; good in AoE as well. Extremely strong synergy with
that cannot be forgotten.
: A strong talent but difficult to optimize. Requires gameplay with strong time and and spatial awareness that is unique to Havoc. Extremely strong on multiple targets since its modifier applies to all damage you deal.
: A very weird place for this talent as a replacement for Nemesis. This talent is basically a dead talent on this row unless it gets buffed so much it cannot be overlooked.

FWIW, the legendary is Anger of the Half-Giants, not Angers. :)
For single target, you show Demon Blades selected, yet in your commentary of Demon Blades, you state "This talent had his moment in the sun previously in Legion due to its synergy with Crit heavy builds and legendary items but, with Battle for Azeroth, this talent will need quite a large buff in order to be competitive with the other options.".
Should it be taken or not? I have seen some sims showing Immolation Aura performing better. Cheers.
Cycle of Hatred
Be a good choices? Or just theoretically good?
You absolutely need demonic if you pick fel barrage. Especially with furious gaze talents. Ability gets damage boosted by haste (more bombs with same damage per bomb).
Unbound Chaos feels awfully overtuned during leveling right now. Is it the same in endgame? It should be changed as well, using fel rush in melee range is impractical. Only effectvie the moment mobs are pulled.
Will you do guide for current 9.0.2? There is so huge nerf of DH... :(
Does Solitude still exist? I can't find it in the talent calculator.
Can someone please explain why Blade dance is eliminated from the rotation if i use the talent "Cycle of hatred". Since that doesnt seems to be the case if im looking on the "Rotation and priority" -page (
What do i miss? :)
Thanks in advance
Master of the Glaive
, is it a snare? or a slow? How does one snare for only 50%?
