Venthyr Balance Druid Covenant Abilities
Venthyr Balance Druid Class Ability:
The Venthyr Class Ability for Druids is
. Ravenous Frenzy makes your damage increase by 2% per stack and haste increase by 1% per stack per ability cast inside of Ravenous Frenzy. This ability when paired with
allows us to have some of the highest burst DPS in the game. Unfortunately for us though, this damage comes once every 3 minutes. Ravenous Frenzy gives a decent amount of haste, and when paired with the
conduit, you have an insane amount of stats. Endless Thirst, when used gives you .5% critical strike per stack of Ravenous Frenzy.
Venthyr is potent on both Single Target and AOE, while generally being one of the better AOE options as haste scales better on AOE. If this choice is number 1 on single target, it more likely than not is also number 1 on AOE.
Venthyr Signature Ability:
The ability
is a 1.5 second cast for a 35 yard blink effectively. This, similar to
, is pretty niche and not overly useful for the druid class. I think as a whole Druid has a lot of movement utility that they can use if they need it, but generally the opportunity cost for Balance in particular is damage. This ability gives us just another option which is nice, but I would say probably not necessary. If it is useful or needed though, then it is a pretty niche situation.
Legendary Interactions for Venthyr Balance Druids

are the main Legendaries for Venthyr Balance Druids, depending on the situation. You get a decent amount of crit from the Endless Thirst conduit, as stated above, so BOAT is a bit lackluster at times, but generally on Single Target BOAT is almost always going to be a top performer. On AOE, Primordial Arcanic Pulsar is super sick when paired with Venthyr as you are able to get some really powerful cooldown timings.
Venthyr Balance Druid Soulbinds
All Venthyr players have access to the same three Soulbinds:
Nadjia, Theotar, and General Draven
. They are the NPCs you complete the zone story with, and allow you to 'attune' yourself to them to gain access to a tree of upgrades centered around your base toolkit (through Conduits) and Covenant abilities (through special, game-wide traits).
This tree progressively unlocks based on completion steps (such as finishing the campaign) and your Renown level with the Venthyr Covenant.
We've summarized the optimal traits for each Soulbind below, along with potential Conduits to use. Bear in mind that Endurance and Finesse conduit choice will largely depend on which encounter you're progressing on, as their value changes dramatically based on the requirements they enforce.
Nadjia is probably going to be your go-to Soulbind for Venthyr due to 1 reason. That is:
is the paragon trait from the Nadjia soulbind. This trait is honestly super solid, and used to be slightly more OP. It gives you haste as a stacking in-combat buff and at 40 stacks you get 20% haste for 10 seconds. It takes approximately 80 seconds to build up enough stacks for this, but that is lowered by killing enemies.
These benefits buff up Nadjia up more over options such as Theotar which is really hard to use properly with his umbrellas.
An example tree to follow on this soulbind is as follows:
Theotar provides a couple of interesting nodes:
is a random mastery proc for 12 seconds, but it requires you to stay in the shaded area. Mastery is Balance Druid's best stat by a decent amount, but the act of having to be planted in a shaded area is pretty strange.
Locked behind a Finesse conduit is
, which would be a good option if
was not on a 3 minute cooldown. It still is the best option, but not by much.
is an interesting node, but unfortunately you end up having to take an endurance conduit for something like that, thus it pushes you into taking....
which puts a shield on people who heal you. This isn't really that bad, but in comparison to Refined Palate or Wasteland Propriety it is kinda meh. The upside though, is that you get an additional potency conduit, which if our Potency Conduits were super strong this would be important.
Overall this is the tree is not that bad, but it is generally seen that Theotar is more well rounded.

Picking Korayn grants access to the following notable traits:
- You honestly just take this trait because you need it to proceed.
grants up to 4% additional Intellect while we're above 50% health. Great if you can keep it up, though it does mean giving up a second Potency slot.
General Draven is generally seen as the worst option by a lot. Most of Draven's abilities are defensive based with the only upside being
. Nadjia and Theotar are almost uniformly seen as superior options.
Best Venthyr Balance Druid Early Soulbinds
Early on in Nathria, assuming you picked Venthyr, you have two possible choices: Nadjia or Theotar. Both Nadjia and Theotar get decent options early on with
vs
. I personally have found Soothing Shade harder to use, but pick as you see fit.
Venthyr Balance Druid Rotation Changes
Generally Venthyr does not change your rotation much. Make sure you pair up
with
! Both abilities are off the GCD, so feel more than free to macro them together, you are not losing anything. Dump as many
as you can early on in your CA as soon as you press your cooldowns

Dauntless Duelist is the other major trait. It is actually pretty clunky to use as a whole, but access to an additional potency conduit is generally worth playing something like Dauntless Duelist.
Er, what? Dauntless Duelist is mutually exclusive with the second Potency Conduit.
