What is the Twisting Corridors?

Twisting Corridors, like the normal Torghast wings, have their difficulty measured in layers. However, unlike normal Torghast runs, each layer of Twisting Corridors has a whopping 18 Floors! This alone means enemies and bosses will scale even further in difficulty, but also gives you more opportunities for Anima Powers.

Twisting Corridors pulls their room designs from the normal Torghast wings, which means that you will be affected by multiple types of Torghast Torments, or affected by Torments in higher amounts than what is possible to get in a normal Torghast run.

There are no rewards that increase player power in Twisting Corridors. There are, however, achievements for completing each Twisting Corridors layer, as well as cosmetic rewards for reaching specific layer thresholds.

If you miss a week worth of quests, you will be one week behind on unlocking Twisting Corridors. On January 5th, Blizzard hotfixed out the weekly delay between quests, so you CAN catch up.

NOTE: The Twisting Corridors unlock is account-wide, which means completing the questline and unlocking Twisting Corridors once will unlock it for all characters in your account.

It should be noted that most cooldowns are refreshed when you move between floors. This includes heroism (as well as the heroism 10-minute debuff), and other powerful abilities that your class/spec have. Knowing this can help one to burn through the floor bosses more effectively.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFO!: If you complete layer 1 (for example) on one of your toons and decide that you want to try on a different toon/class, you can work on layer 2 on that different toon/class. While I don't think the other wing layer unlocks are account-wide, Twisting Corridors is.

Are "checkpoints" a thing or are you expected to be prepared to run the full 18 floor layer?

Something to be wary of in Twisting Corridors is the Item which turns a non-elite target into an anima cell. 贪婪的心能单元

This item is sometimes used on the brokers during regular Torghast runs with no repercussions. In Twisting Corridors however, it should be noted that the vendors WILL NOT RESPAWN. This means that if you use the item on a broker to gain additional phantasma, you will no longer be able to purchase anything from that broker for the duration of your run. I would highly suggest not using 贪婪的心能单元 on the brokers, as being unable to purchase their Plundered Anima Cells and other miscellaneous Anima Powers can be detrimental to say the least.

It seems that layer 2 of corridors is bugged atm and it teleports you out of the dungeon after a few seconds when you enter

Made it to level floor 17. When I zoned in I everything was black, I could tab target, but did not know where they were standing. I followed my group with mini map until we got wiped with no lives left. buggggged

I am sorry but why the &*!@ does my friend have to wait 2 weeks for Twisting corridors just cuz he started playing late .... do they want him to play the game or not? Why does he get punished for starting later while he can catch up fine with renown wtf

I seem to not be able to pick up more bolvar quests (which was said to have the weekly lockout removed from it.) Anyone else not able to continue the questline for Bolvar to be able to unlock TC?

I'm a little bit disappointed that there is no reward for completing layers 1, 3, 5 & 7. For something that can easily take 2+ hours, it's a huge time commitment for minimal reward. Adding something like a little Anima, Soul Ash, or even gear scaling by layer would be better than getting nothing at the end of a really long run.

Right now If somebody doesn't want to earn the pets, toys, or mounts and just wants to finish the questline, they just have to finish floors 3-6, exit then re-enter. There's no incentive for somebody to finish the 1st layer besides unlocking the 2nd layer.

This feels very unrewarding, at the moment wasting 2-3 hours (per layer) for companion, toy, title or mount? I'm sorry but expeditions were much more rewarding.

Not gonna try this again until they fix this. If you don't get the right anima powers you have no chance of winning. I had hardly any health upgrades for example and got a boss with 3.5 million health. I had 40k and my voidwalker 70k. That is merely one of the many problems of this instance. But in short this instance can be a waste of 2 h or a breeze depending on RNG. Got the boss down to 200k before I died again and again despite good tacts and 89 powers.

For the achievements, if you did only layer 8 do you get the lower layer ones as well?

nevermind! Just remembered you can't skip floors without doing the previous ones, assuming its like the other Torghast runs.

This is literally the most unfun thing they have ever added to the game. The scaling is completely off, I've done all layer 8's the entire xpac as havoc DH solo with ZERO deaths. Twisting corridors layer 1 floor 18 is literally impossible. The boss oneshots from 40k health to 0k, even with perfect interrupts and stuns. And guess what? That promise of soulash not getting locked behind twisting corridors? ACTUAL BS, soulash quest for twisting corridors can't be completed! Blow me blizzard

There are way too much rng for powers!

Example:
There's a warlock power that gives 100% damage and hp to summoned demon, immediately and every time you go up one floor. Got this fairly early on L1-L4, in addition to +50 hp and +50 dmg powers. On one of these layers, my voidwalker had over 2.3 million hp at 18th floor, and the increased damage made him rip through elites on the last floors like they were paper.

On L5 it's a different story:
On my 4 attempts so far, I've been VERY unlucky with powers. Nothing for my voidwalker, and the only hp powers I've seen, is +15% sold by vendor. Having vw at around 25-30k hp and myself at 35-40k against pairs of 500k+ elites on floor 13 and up, means constantly healing my vw and using Drain Life just to stay alive. Of course it takes an eternity to kill them. And some of them rips through both of us + infernal in seconds.

Gonna try again and see if I'm luckier today.

I find sometimes that my anima powers are being replaced. I just picked up Shadowblade's Legacy, and at the same time lost my anima power that increased combo point generators by 150% damage after a finishing move (Couldn't remember what it was called). This is not the first time it's happened and the new power I got was definitely NOT worth what I lost. Not a trade I'd make on purpose.
Unless there is a hard limit? I'm at 13 powers on floor 2, twisting corridors layer 7.

Will the corridors rotate out like with other rooms? so only every few weeks we can try it?

I soloed the whole of Layer 1-7 as an Elemental Shaman. How you ask? 1min cd Earth Elemental, and all the health increases I could find.

But it started to get difficult alone with 6 and 7. And with a failed run ending at the final boss of layer 8, being Binder Baritas and the fact that I had a slow on me from an anima power. It was impossible to complete. So I finally swallowed my pride and joined a group that blew through layer 8 in half the time of soloing. Though it got dicey at one point that blew up people and they ran back to get blown up again. Resulting in 7 lives lost. But with more lives from the broker, we bade it to the final boss, and had 1 life left when we finished it. The hunter had a bad power that increased his damage, but lowered his hp.

I was in there yesterday for over 4 hrs soloing ( i managed to watch 3 movies whilst going through this place) only managed to get to floor 16 of level 1 ( and i was bored as crap!)before i lost all my lives to the elite at the portal and couldn't get to the last clue, so i do hope there are checkpoints .. i do not want to have to redo that again to come out with Nothing! 18 floors is to many per Level, (and Six is not enough.. perhaps 10 will be a balance) i cant finish the story quest if there is no check point. total waste of time!

When i zoned into twisting corridors level 1, solo, for the first time on my prot pally (190 ilvl) i didnt know it was 18 floors long, or just how much it was going to scale towards the end.
I managed to pick up some powerful anima powers that carried me through though and kept on smashing until i got to the final boss.
Gotta say, even though i was able to complete it solo, it definitely seems much more tuned towards groups, at least 2-3 people.
I feel like solo dps might struggle a lot at later stages in the run.
Now that i know that i guess i wont bother going in solo for higher levels.
Just find a group who are committed to going til the end and probably bring at least a tank, healer and dps.

The Twisting Corridors unlock is account-wide, which means completing the questline and unlocking Twisting Corridors once will unlock it for all characters in your account.

They remove SOME gating but NOT ALL.

There are still parts where you can only accept the next quest in another weekly reset, such as after saving Jaina.

Man....nothing sucks more than having to do twisting corridors (for no loot during the run) only to die to the final boss at level 18...such a bummer and discouraging from having to do that all again.

On a side note....and as a bonus, got to level 14 last night and blizzard shutdown the server!

Blizzard you can eat a plate of balls! :(

sooooo...... what was the point to the twisting corridors.... doing 144 floors to get a mount that was ridable in the maw.... the big accomplishment.... when in 9.1 everyone's gonna be able to ride... who cares about bragging rights, it just devalues the whole effort and rewards... a big woop we got to ride in the maw a couple of months prior....

really doesn't encourage me to push this in 9.1 whenever they add content to it.

the whole point was the uniquenesss of the rewards for the effort. as was the mage tower, yet that remained unique.

twisting was a big fail.

173 ilvl blood DK soloed layer 1 today. That was exhausting. I definitely need to gear up before the next layer. I also need to not do Torghast AT ALL for several days, you know?
