There's a lot that goes into maximizing the amount of

Gear Rewards from Horrific Visions
Horrific Visions, as well as the new BoA tokens and Visions of N'zoth Assaults, can award gear from a "pre-raid" set unique to patch 8.3. You can view the full pre-raid sets with the links below. The stats on this gear is pre-determined.
of the Insatiable Maw
Defeating Thrall or Alleria in a Horrific Vision will reward 1 gear item from the "pre-raid" set. The item level of this piece depends on how many other activities you did in the Horrific Vision, as well as how many Faceless Masks were active. All gear from Horrific Visions, with the exception of Azerite pieces,
is guaranteed to have Corruption on it

You must complete the main vision objective (defeat Thrall or Alleria) to receive the gear reward from the Vision.
You'll continue to earn gear each run, but at a decreasing item level tier if you've already done a Horrific Vision run that same week with the same amount of objectives and Faceless Masks active. Qualifying for a new higher item level tier will reward the appropriate item level gear and then resume where you left off.
After earning all tiers of gear, you will no longer receive gear.
No masks, you do a Horrific Vision run and clear 4 out of 5 objectives. You earn a 430 item level piece.
You do another run that same week and clear 4 out of 5 objectives again. You earn a 420 item level piece.
You try a 3rd time that same week and manage to finally clear 5 out of 5 objectives. You get a 445 item level piece.
You then try for a 4th time that same week and again clear 5 out of 5 objectives. You will receive no gear this time, since you have already earned the 445, 430, and 420 tiers this week.
Azerite Essences from Horrific Visions
are Azerite Essences obtained and upgraded from Horrific Visions.
Players will be able to obtain Rank 2 of this essence fairly quickly, you only need to clear a Hard Tier area to obtain it (which is not that hard on its own).
Rank 3 will take some time as at the absolute best, it takes 5 runs clearing all 5 objectives.

Echoes of Ny'alotha
can obtain them from Horrific Visions from the chests at the end of the run. You can get up to 150 Echoes of Ny'alotha per full clear run (all zones cleared). Masks do not increase the quantity of Echoes of Ny'alotha that can drop from Horrific Visions.
Echoes of Ny'alotha is a new currency used to purchase Rank 3 Azerite Essences for alts who do not have them. You can read more about it on our Account-Wide Azerite Essence Guide.

Reduces the amount of Sanity lost from all sources inside Horrific Visions.
Upgrading your cloak requires you to complete quests given by Wrathion. These quests involve you collecting items from the chests at the end of Horrific Visions. Depending on how far along you are in upgrading your cloak will determine what items you need.
Later ranks of the cloak will require items only found in the chests provided for completing the harder objectives in Horrific Visions. As there are 3 tiers of difficulty in the Visions, upgrading your cloak goes through 3 tiers.
Tier 1 requires you to complete the main objective located in the Twisted Area of the Horrific Visions.
Tier 2 requires you to complete the objectives located in the Corrupted Areas of the Horrific Visions.
Tier 3 requires you to complete the objectives located in the Lost Areas of the Horrific Visions.
Since there are 2 objectives tied to Tier 2 and Tier 3 difficulty, completing both will reward you with x2 of the items.

is it possible to do the horde visions/horrors as alliance or how do they want us to do both alliance/horde on one toon?
I got the Void-Touched Skull toy today in the chest at the end of the Orgrimmar Horrific Vision.
I received gear from Horrific Vision of Orgrimmar only once - my first run.
Mail muncher mount is a 100% drop from mob of same name, and its lootable from corpse, not chest.
Enough with the toys and pets already, I have hundreds of the damn things and I never even look at most of them
Great guide, and thanks for assembling this!
I do seem to get other rewards that are not listed here, or maybe I just didn't see them. They are the contracts for different Troops for the Command Mission Board. I seem to have a decent stack of them built up, as I think you can only use them one at a time. One note to make about them though, is that they are not Soulbound / BOP... I have placed them on the AH as a test, so they are sellable.
Also, the drop on the pets seems to be fairly high in rate, as I already have 2 of most of them. Initially I thought it might be a good AH investment, but surely the price will drop if the drop rate is in fact that high.
Does anyone know if visions drop weapons at all? I'm a pretty casual solo player, but I have gotten
serious about visions (just finished my first four-mask full run; confident that I can get to five soon). I'm just wondering if I'm gonna be stuck with a 445 weapon for the rest of the expac or not.
Void Edge illusion does not drop from Alleria's chest. I've had it several times and it is always in Valeera's chest after completing Old Town.
Is it more than 150 echos now for a full clear, cuz to get Twilight rank 3 would take 100 runs and you can do maybe 3 a week? so over 6 months?
