Night Fae Destruction Warlock Covenant
This ability was made more attractive by having its health cost removed and damage on the main target buffed, but still, it's capped to 4 targets and it's unlikely you will end up using the
part of this ability. If you were to argue in favor of this ability, the defensive value it adds through the healing is actually quite decent. Overall, the damage this dot deals isn't bad either, especially not in dungeons where you're able to constantly apply it to 4 targets. This ability is further empowered by the Covenant Conduit -
. This bonus adds a nice damage increase to the ability and the increased radius means it could possibly affect a target it would have otherwise missed.
This class ability isn't amazing, but can be improved through the Soulbind tree.
adds utility to your group. However, 10% movement speed isn't very much and it's certainly not on the same level as a
adds a nice layer of defensive value to this spell.
can turn your
into an engage type ability that gives the ability an interesting twist.
Legendary Interactions for Night Fae Destruction Warlock
There are no legendary modifiers to any of the abilities you gain through being a Necrolord. This may change in the future, but for now, you don't have anything to worry about here.
Night Fae Destruction Warlock Soulbinds
Night Fae has access to three Soulbinds:
. Each Soulbind offers you a variety of bonuses to further empower your character. The tree progressively unlocks based on completion steps and your Renown level with the Night Fae Covenant. In this section of the guide, I have summarized the optimal Soulbind traits for each Soulbind within the Night Fae Covenant. I have not inserted Conduits into the slots, but instead displayed the path you're likely to go with your Soulbind. The conduits will then later depend on what content you're looking to do.
offers you increased Mastery. Mastery is one of the stats we scale off of the most, this makes this trait very attractive.
Moving down through the Potency conduit,
adds sustain to your Covenant ability and is actually pretty nice since we don't really have a lot of out of combat self-healing.
For the last row you have a few different options
Going through the Potency conduit, we pick up
, which is situationally strong. Keep in mind you will have to interrupt something successfully to proc this, meaning it's likely not very strong on targets you can't reliable interrupt more or less off of cooldown.
is the stronger option in many situations. This is partly because of the strength of this bonus, but also because we don't have a lot of interesting potency conduits to use otherwise.
Within the Night Fae Covenant, Niya is the most attractive option.
is basically a cheat-death effect. This can be extremely powerful, since it might save you from otherwise being dead for large portions of an encounter.
You go through 2 Potency conduits quickly in this tree, leading to
. It makes your
even stronger, as it now grants you a big boost to your Haste as well.
For a lot of situations, Korayn is a very very strong option. The traits we look to pick up are:
will further increase the damage you do during your first set of cooldowns, but once the boss reaches 75% this trait is essentially useless. This is still a strong trait as you can proc this throughout a fight whenever a new high-health target is introduced.
adds a bit of utility to your raid, but 10% isn't significant and we only really pick this up because we want the Potency conduit it hides behind.
is such a strong bonus when you're in a situation with multiple mobs you can attack. You can play around this by purposely not attacking a mob, allowing you to get a higher uptime on
by attacking it once the buff has faded. Playing around this strong bonus can result in very high damage in many situations and should be kept in mind.
Night Fae Destruction Warlock Covenant Rotation Changes
Not much changes in your rotation when playing a Night Fae Warlock. However, we do gain access to the class ability
which is buffed through both Conduits and Soulbind traits. When Soulbound with Dreamweaver, you gain haste when casting this through the
trait. This means you can apply your
on a pack, either manually or through
and then deal large amounts of damage during this short window. Alternatively, you can pop this before using
to further empower your
Something worth bringing up:
increases damage of
. This is not really worth using unless you're very starved for shards, but allows you to heal yourself significantly during this window. Also, this ability is target capped which means it loses value the more targets you introduce above its cap.
Needless to say, there are quite a few options on how to play this spell -- very interesting!
Night Fae Destruction Warlock Covenant Talent Builds
Your talent build does not change when picking the Night Fae covenant. We have no interaction with any talents when it comes to the abilities we've gained through the Night Fae covenant.
Night Fae Destruction Warlock Gearing Differences
The only difference there might be in gearing is your stat priority. When picking the Night Fae Covenant you're essentially gaining another dot and therefore some stats might gain slightly more value. I always recommend simming yourself as no two Warlocks will be the same. The best estimate I can give you is that haste might gain a bit of value, but if you have very high haste on your character prior to this, this might not be the case.
