Necrolord Affliction Warlock Covenant Abilities
Necrolord Warlock Class Ability:
屠戮箭
The Necrolord Warlock Class Ability is
屠戮箭
, a rather intersting ability that plays on the fillers for each spec.
For Affliction, whenever you cast
屠戮箭
, it snapshots the health percentage of which mob it hits, and gives you a buff that linearly scales between 100 and 160%. (for example, hitting a target at 50% would give you a buff of 130%). This buff then increases the damage of either your next 3
暗影箭
casts, or your next one

cast, if talented. Even though this is significantly nerfed from previous iterations, it's still a strong choice for fights where you absolutely need to prioritize execute damage.
Unfortunately the Covenant specific conduit for
屠戮箭
doesn't do much to enhance its use in fights. All

does is increase the damage
屠戮箭
does, rather than help double down on the strength of
屠戮箭
, which is increasing the strength of the spells it buffs. You'll likely never run this conduit unless it's significantly buffed in the future.
Necrolord Warlock Signature Ability:
血肉铸造

is an interesting Covenant-specific ability. On top of the significant amount of other absorbs warlocks already has available to them,
血肉铸造
adds another to the mix. However,
血肉铸造
has the potential to be much more, with the potential to increase its absorb up to a staggering amount of 50% of your max hp.
Unfortunately, most of the time this will not be the case. One glaring issue with
血肉铸造
is that to reap maximum benefit, you'll need to stand still and channel it for 4 seconds, an eternity in combat. Therefore, you're much more likely to just use it out of combat or in scenarios where you can't do anything else. Think prepull, in between pulls of Mythic+ dungeons, etc. In addition to this, there are many modifiers to
血肉铸造
scattered throughout the various Soulbind trees. We'll cover those in the Soulbind section below.
Legendary Interactions for Necrolord Affliction Warlocks
There are no legendary interactions for Necrolord-specific abilities.
Necrolord Affliction Warlock Soulbinds
Necrolord have access to three separate soulbinds - Plague Deviser Marileth, Emeni, and Bonesmith Heirmir. These are three separate characters who you'll interact with while completing the Necrolord campaign, as well as just moving throughout the zone. Through the soulbind trees, you'll essentially attune yourself with these three, allowing yourself to gain access to different types of character upgrades - to your base abilities with conduits, and to the Covenant abilities through options in the soulbind trees. These trees unlock each week based on certain completion steps, such as your Renown with your Covenant, and your progression in the Covenant campaign. Optimal traits for each soulbind are listed below, but keep in mind that conduits are general going to depend on the type of content you're doing. Shadowlands Conduits
Plague Deviser Merileth has a few unique traits that benefit you in different ways from your usual soulbind conduits;

by granting an additional buff based on the type of corpse you used it near: 120 mastery for humanoids, 2% primary stats for beasts, 5% stamina for demons, and a 5% heal for undead.

provides a 15% maximum health shield every time you dip below 50% health, with a cooldown of 30 seconds. This is actually a decent amount of overall absorbs, and should not be overlooked.

, you're immune to CC and gain 2% hp per second. If you finish the full channel, you're immune to CC for another 4 seconds and also have the 2% hp regen per second as well.
While the design interactions with

are definitely interesting, there's a weird dichotomy here of wanting to use
血肉铸造
to suck up defeated enemies for certain buffs, but being unable to do so if you want to prevent some CC that would be applied to you with

. Unfortunately, the synergy just isn't there.
An example tree to follow on this soulbind is below:
Emeni has a couple of interesting unique traits, and probably one of the strongest one-off conduit traits in the game.

, the initial trait in the tree, functions as group utility. Your party members are granted them 2% primary stat, and you gain up to 15% primary stat yourself. Primary stat is extremely strong early in the expansion, and being able to provide essentially 23% primary stat to your party every 45 seconds is pretty disgusting.

is a small hp buff for 30 seconds whenever you cast

. Although not particularly good or interesting, you'll path through here anyway because of the Potency conduit it's behind, so its just a tiny little bit of added benefit when you do happen to

while moving, but the joke's on warlocks because to gain this trait, you'll have to pass on a Potency conduit, and that's never going to happen. Enjoy looking at it longingly from the other side of the soulbind tree.

allows warlocks to be a little less of the slow hulking slugs they normally are when in combat with multiple mobs. You'll also just always have this trait since it's locked behind a Potency conduit, so enjoy the free movement speed.
An example soulbind tree to follow is below:
Bonesmith Heirmir has some pretty intersting utility uses, but it's unlikely you'll end up using him over the superior dps traits Emeni has available to him. Here are the highlights.
炉脉幻想
is probably the most anti-cheat death I've ever seen in the game. When you die, you're get to fight for another 10 seconds, but at 50% reduced Potency. In addition to this, you can't be healing during this time anyways, so good luck actually staying alive for 10 seconds.

would be a potentially quite interesting trait if it had 100% uptime. Unfortunately, it can only occur for 5 seconds, one a minute.

Best Necrolord Affliction Warlock Early Soulbind
Early on in Castle Nathria, as a Warlock you're going to want to pretty much be pumping out as much damage as possible. With that in mind, you're going to want to choose Emeni.

is an extremely strong trait in its own right, making it the preferred soulbind for Necrolord warlocks early on.
Necrolord Affliction Warlock Covenant Rotation Changes
There really aren't any specific single target rotation changes regarding
屠戮箭
. You'll just essentially want to use it on cooldown, or potentially save it for a damage increase phase if one happens to occur within the next 20 seconds or so. In multi-target situations, however, you'll want to prioritize casting
屠戮箭
on the lowest HP target available, in order to maximize the percent damage increase portion of the abililty.
血肉铸造
There's no rotational changes specifically in regards to
血肉铸造
. You'll likely only ever end up using this in between mythic+ pulls, or pre-pull in raid encounters. The opportunity cost of channeling a 4 second absorb mid-combat is so high that you'll only ever end up using it as a last resort to stay alive.
Necrolord Affliction Warlock Talent Builds
There are no changes to Affliction Warlock Talent Builds while playing Necrolord.
Necrolord Affliction Warlock Gearing Differences
Similar to previous expansions, like most other DPS classes, warlocks prefer raw iLevel upgrades in general over specific secondary stats. While Haste and Mastery are still preferred, the pure raw stat upgrade often edges out the minimal gains you'd get from more properly itemized stats. That being said, it's always worth reminding you that it's always worth simming yourself, something that's incredibly easy with resources such as raidbots nowadays.
