Changes to Kyrian Outlaw Rogue in 9.2
None.
Kyrian Rogue Covenant Abilities
Kyrian Rogue Class Ability:
The Kyrian Class Ability for Rogues of all specializations is
. This ability has a very cheap energy cost and grants you two combo points. It deals a decent amount of instant damage when you use it that already makes up for a big part of its value.
The additional effect is a little "minigame" that you may or may not like at all. For 45 seconds after using Echoing Reprimand, you have one of your combo points overcharged. Reprimand will randomly overcharge your 2nd, 3rd,
or
4th combo point. You can see which one you overcharged by looking at the default resource display or at the number of stacks on the corresponding buff. During those 45s, when you use a
damage-dealing
finisher (i.e. it does not work with
) at exactly the overcharged number of combo points, the buff will be consumed and your finisher will work like a 7 combo point finisher.
This combo point threshold minigame can come with some issues that can make it frustrating. Each rogue spec has some mechanics that can make it hard to hit the threshold naturally on first try. For Outlaw Rogues, one variable is semi-random combo point gains from
. Furthermore,
,
, and
also affect your combo point generation and can make certain intervals impossible.
All in all, the minigame is not really worth playing around specifically. On single target, you should usually end up matching the threshold automatically at least once during the 45 second window. It does not have much of an impact and does not require going out of your way to enforce matches. Numerically, Echoing Reprimand still is a pretty good class Covenant ability in comparison to the others. All of them have a very low impact by themselves, so you shouldn't worry about it too much if you find the minigame frustrating.
Kyrian Conduit for
The corresponding conduit that modifies this ability is
, which simply increases the initial hit damage.
It is a pretty good conduit, worth taking into consideration when deciding what conduits to use.
Outlaw Rogue Conduit Guide
Kyrian Rogue Signature Ability:
As a member of the Kyrian, you have the ability to
. This will give you your own personal steward owl on a 5-minute cooldown.
When using the ability, your steward adds
, a 3 charge consumable to your inventory that will heal you and cleanse Curse, Disease, Poison, and Bleed effects. This makes it a very helpful utility and healing tool that can even negate entire mechanics in dungeons and raids.
Aside from this, the steward also offers a service on a daily rotation as a bonus gimmick. This can be access to repair your gear or to change your talents. If you have the level 2 Kyrian Transport system unlocked, your Steward can also summon an
, giving you access to your Transport Network from anywhere within Bastion once every 8 hours. At level 3, the Beacon becomes available to all party members.
The steward is a pretty cool and all-around helpful signature ability that certainly contributes to the whole package this Covenant offers.
Kyrian Exclusive Legendary for Outlaw Rogues
NEW Kyrian Legendary
:
now animacharges 4 combo points.
For Kyrian, this is a good legendary. Outlaw sees it compete right after the current top legendaries. It animacharges all combo point values from 2 to 5, allowing you to play the matching minigame a total of 4 times. It can be a lot of fun with some anima powers in Torghast. Also something to keep an eye on when widening your arsenal of legendaries.
Other Legendary Interactions for Kyrian Outlaw Rogues
There are no noteworthy legendary interactions that should affect this Covenant and soulbind choice or what legendary you want to target.

Best Kyrian Outlaw Rogue Soulbinds
On the way to Renown 80, Mikanikos unlocks two powerful traits with
and
that both make it worth using him as the best soulbind overall.
The below Soulbind Calculator is valid starting at Renown 57. Conduits are socketed in order of highest priority from top to bottom in order to facilitate the greatest benefit when empowering conduit rows from renown. Please see our
Outlaw Rogue Conduit Guide
for more information on Conduits including Empowered Conduits.
This build is designed as a catch-all tree for raids and dungeons. It uses the left middle path for raids / single target. For dungeons, you can swap to the middle path with
and otherwise keep the tree the same.

Kyrian Outlaw Rogue Covenant Rotation Changes
As usual, this page only highlights the specific use case of the class and signature abilities. To see how they fit within the context of the entire spec, we encourage you to check the other pages in the guide related to the context you are looking for:
Outlaw Rogue Rotation Guide
You can pretty much use this ability on cooldown as long as you have space for the combo points it generates.
Then, you have 45s for the minigame. Usually, you should not have to play around it in any special way. Just wait for your combo points to match up with the threshold naturally at some point and react.
There is not much need for rotational instructions when it comes to the steward. Make sure you always have Phials in your inventory before pulls. Otherwise, use it to your heart's content.
Kyrian Outlaw Rogue Talent Builds
Your talent build does not change when picking this Covenant. There is no special interaction with our kit and no reason to deviate from what build you are already choosing anyway. You can simply refer to the talent page of the guide for more information on talents.

Kyrian Outlaw Rogue Gearing Differences
Being part of the Kyrian Covenant does not really affect your gearing strategy or your stat priorities. As usual, we encourage you to sim yourself, and to also consider that, for generic play, the primary stat Agility provided by item level upgrades typically outweighs "better" secondary stats.

Kyrian Outlaw Rogue Soulbinds Explained
Across all classes and specs, Kyrians have access to the same three soulbinds:
Pelagos
,
Kleia
and
Forgelite Prime Mikanikos
. They are the NPCs with whom you complete the zone story, and they allow you to "attune" yourself to them to gain access to a tree of upgrades centered around your base toolkit (through Conduits) and Covenant abilities (through special game-wide traits).
These trees progressively unlock based on completion steps (such as finishing the campaign) and your Renown level with the Kyrian Covenant.
We've summarized a few traits for each soulbind below, along with potential conduits to slot in, below. Do bear in mind that these recommendations are based on a PvE DPS perspective. You have every right to adjust your soulbind trees to your and your group's own needs. If you have an incentive to pick a utility or survivability option instead of throughput traits, don't let this guide stop you from doing so.
Pelagos grants you these important traits:
is the first DPS increasing trait that you will get early on. It is good but not impressive. After using
, pay attention to the 3 orbs that spawn close to you, one every 3s, and try to collect them to get the maximum duration on the buff.
is a damage increase on an endurance conduit path that is worth going for in PvE content. For this trait to work, you should pay attention to grabbing the buff by moving close to another party or raid member, and to refresh this every minute. The power is nice to have and does not require sacrificing any other damage increase.
will sometimes make a shadowy appearance spawn near you that you will have to face. Doing so gives you a useful damage increase in the form of a primary stat buff.
An example tree to follow on this soulbind is as follows:
Kleia provides a couple of interesting notes:
is not a damage gain but something worth mentioning nevertheless. It has an interesting mechanic to support the group with automatic healing. It is worth keeping in mind in case you have a group running content where this comes in handy.
is the main damage increase in this tree. It requires sacrificing a Potency conduit path but is worth doing so if you pick this soulbind.
can be a bit of a damage increase, especially when facing regular add waves or trash packs in dungeons. A simple frontloaded crit buff you shouldn't say no to.
this adds a new crit stacking effect to
which basically turns that one into a damage increase as well. Crits will stack up crit until the heal is triggered, which in turn grants another short crit buff. This cycle can restart every minute.
An example tree can be seen below. Due to Pointed Courage costing us a second Potency conduit, we want to make sure to take the first one in the tree.
Picking Mikanikos grants access to the following notable traits:
is the initial unlock. This is a throughput increase; however, Bron does seem to be rather underwhelming in terms of damage. This deficit will be remedied by more powerful traits further down the tree.
is an option that can increase your damage when you have a steady flow of new enemies. For Outlaw Rogues the Haste from it can be very good in dungeons.
provides a ramping damage increase against a target you damage. You can only have it ramp up on one target and once it has reached maximum stacks, it can start on another one. Make sure to damage priority targets first with this.
adds a split-damage explosion to
. Depending on how many targets were hit, the covenant ability's cooldown is reduced by 3s per target hit, up to 15s.
Here is another example tree for this soulbind.
Double Legendaries for Kyrian Outlaw Rogue
Patch 9.2 adds the option of using two legendaries at the same time, with the restriction that one of them is your Covenant legendary. This change empowers Kyrian Outlaw Rogue even more. You can learn more about it in our Legendary Guide.

I wouldn't use
Echoing reprimand
primarily for its 7 combo feature, but use it for the base damage it does and the amount of combopoints it generates.
Most kills I get in PvP are from Echoing Reprimand itself, not the enhanced combopoint it generates.
The enhanced combopoint is really good in Torghast though. Since there is a big chance you'll get the anima power that makes it do a 20-combopoint worth of damage and combined with the anima power that makes using this combopoint reset the ability, you can do consistant massive damage without cooldowns.
