The Great Vault
is the weekly chest in Shadowlands, providing players with an extra piece of gear by completing up to nine activities across Raid, Mythic+, and PvP.
In this guide, we will explain the objectives you must complete to unlock more Great Vault rewards, how to improve the ilvl of your Great Vault rewards, and where the weekly chest is found in Oribos.
Changes to the Great Vault in Dragonflight Pre-patch
All 3 All Shadowlands Raids will be Fated until Dragonflight launch (November 28). Once you slay a Fated Raid boss, their rewards will be added to the pool of available drops for the rest of the expansion.
Despite the ending of Season 4, Mythic+ and PvP rewards will continue to be accrued as usual.
All 3 Shadowlands Raid rewards will be available in the Great Vault via the Fated rotation. Once you slay a Fated Raid boss, their rewards will be added to the pool of available drops for the rest of the season.
Raid Objectives require Sepulcher of the First Ones boss kills instead of Sanctum of Domination boss kills. Completing Raid Objectives will reward Sepulcher of the First Ones loot.
Any earned loot slot has a chance to drop a Tier Piece. This means that if you earn a piece of M+ or PvP loot, that piece has a chance to be Tier Gear even if you have not completed a raid.
Participation thresholds have been lowered across the board:
Raid rewards now require 2/5/8 boss kills instead of 3/6/9.
The third Mythic+ reward now requires 8 completed dungeons instead of 10.
The third PvP reward now requires 5500 Honor earned in Rated PvP instead of 6250.
Several new items been added to the Alternative Rewards vendor.
侍神者的功绩奖币
has been reworked:
You may now carry 12
侍神者的功绩奖币
(was 3).
You will receive 2
侍神者的功绩奖币
if you unlock one Great Vault option.
You will receive 4
侍神者的功绩奖币
if you unlock two Great Vault options.
You will receive 6
侍神者的功绩奖币
if you unlock three or more Great Vault options.
The Great Vault: Shadowlands Weekly Chest
Completing objectives each week adds a potential item to your Great Vault. Once a week,
after the weekly reset
, you will be able to open the Great Vault and select one item from the items that were added to your Vault the previous week. This should make getting specific pieces of loot and upgrades significantly easier, although there is certainly still a random factor.
Note that any earned loot slot has a chance to drop a Tier Piece. This means that if you earn a piece of M+ or PvP loot, that piece has a chance to be Tier Gear even if you have not completed a raid.
If you complete a Great Vault objective, you
will not
be able to choose you rewards until the
next
weekly reset.
Completing the following objectives adds choices to your Vault:
Raids
Mythic+ Dungeons
PvP
Defeat 2 Raid Bosses
Defeat 5 Raid Bosses
Defeat 8 Raid Bosses
Complete 1 Mythic+ Dungeon
Complete 4 Mythic+ Dungeons
Complete 8 Mythic+ Dungeons
Earn 1250 Honor Points from Rated PvP
Earn 2500 Honor Points from Rated PvP
Earn 5500 Honor Points from Rated PvP
Great Vault Location in Oribos
Your Great Vault weekly chest in Shadowlands is located at the Weekly Vault, in the Hall of Holding, 65.0, 29.3 in the Ring of Fates floor in Oribos.
Weekly Vault
The Great Vault: Raid Objectives
There are three Great Vault objectives from raiding, tied to defeating
Fated raid bosses in Season 4
each week.
Defeat 2 Raid Bosses for one piece of loot
Defeat 5 Raid Bosses for a choice of two pieces of loot
Defeat 8 Raid Bosses for a choice of three pieces of loot
Castle Nathria Loot GuideSanctum of Domination Loot GuideSepulcher of the First Ones Loot Guide
Keeping in mind that you will be able to
choose only one
item and that completing objectives increases the number items from which you get to choose, completing Raid objectives adds Raid gear options to your pool. The quality of the Raid loot that you get to choose from is currently determined by the highest difficulty you completed each of these requirements at.
If you cleared 10/10 Normal but only 7/10 Heroic, your first two pieces will be Heroic quality, but your last option will be Normal quality.
The Great Vault: Mythic+ Dungeon Objectives and Reward iLevels
There are three Great Vault objectives from Mythic+, tied to clearing several dungeons each week.
Complete 1 Mythic Dungeon for one piece of loot
Complete 4 Mythic Dungeons for a choice of two pieces of loot
Complete 8 Mythic Dungeons for a choice of three pieces of loot
Calculating the ilvl of Great Vault Mythic+ Loot
For Mythic Plus Dungeons, the item level is determined by the Highest / 4th Highest / 10th Highest Key that you completed for the week. What this means is:
If you completed fewer than 4 M+ dungeons in a week, on reset, you would get one item offered in your Great Vault. Its ilevel would be based on the highest level dungeon that you completed.
If you completed more than 4 but fewer than 8 M+ dungeons in a week, on reset, you would get two items offered in your Great Vault. The first one's ilevel would be based on the highest level dungeon that you completed. The second one's ilevel would be based on the fourth highest level dungeon that you completed.
If you completed more than 8 M+ dungeons in a week, on reset, you would get three items offered in your Great Vault. The first one's ilevel would be based on the highest level dungeon that you completed. The second one's ilevel would be based on the fourth highest level dungeon that you completed. The third one's ilevel would be based on the eighth highest level dungeon that you completed.
These numbers are based on the levels of actual dungeons completed, not on the levels alone. Also note, that the order in which you complete your dungeons is irrelevant; your keys will be sorted from highest to lowest. Here is how that works:
During a week, let's say you complete the following keys:
+15
, +15, +15,
+14
, +14, +13, +13,
+10
, +10, +10, +8, +6, +6.
Your first reward will be a Mythic Level 15 reward (Highest Key).
Your second reward will be a Mythic Level 14 reward (4th Highest Key).
Your third reward will be a Mythic Level 10 reward (8th Highest Key).
You are now at the maximum number of choices for completing Mythic+ content. You can still complete more M+ dungeons without compromising the item levels that you have earned, and you can work to raise the item levels of your choices. In the above example, completing three more M+ dungeons at +11 or above will raise the item level of your third choice, completing one at +15 or above will raise your second choice, and, of course, completing anything over+15 will increase your first choice.
As you complete objectives, you can mouse over the completed objective to get more details about what item level loot will be rewarded for completing that objective. The UI lists your highest five Keystones, and lets you know what you need to do to upgrade your current reward choice for that objective. You can complete any lower level keystones at that point without affecting the choices that you have earned: for example, you would be able to help you friends and spam +6s and the 5 Mythic Dungeon objective will not be affected.

The Great Vault: PvP Objectives
Once again, keeping in mind that you will be able to

and that completing objectives increases the number items from which you get to choose, completing PvP objectives adds Rated PvP options to your pool. The item level of your reward depends on the highest rating you achieved that week.

Accessing the Great Vault from Anywhere
If you ever wants to check the current status of your Great Vault, there are two main ways to do it. The first one is by opening the map of Oribos and clicking on the Great Vault location. The other one is by going to your PvP frame (default hotkey:
H
) and click on the Great Vault rewards section.
Great Vault Macro & Addon Access
If you want different ways to check your Great Vault, redditor Kindosar discovered a script which allows players to access the Great Vault from anywhere, which could come in handy if you plan to log out in a convenient location tonight and hit the ground running after reset. Making a macro out of it, or just copy & pasting into the chat box could also save you a lot of time running around Oribos if you have a lot of alts to loot the vault with.
/run LoadAddOn("Blizzard_WeeklyRewards"); WeeklyRewardsFrame:Show()
Eltreum on CurseForge
has even been kind enough to create a simple addon that adds a button to the minimap, allowing you to access the Vault without using the script.

"You are now at the maximum number of choices for completing Mythic+ content. You can still complete more M+ dungeons without compromising the item levels that you have earned"
EARNED being the keyword we shouldnt be compromising ANYTHING weve earned by playing.. and no im not saying gear needs to be handed out freely but in bfa you get an achievement and mount for doing all the dungeons on 15 in time...now we gotta do that weekly in SL everyone defending this system is a joke then ION said he wants end of dungeon chest to drop less loot since theres so many ways to gear up then remove one of our weekly cache so we are getting less guaranteed loot so now we get no loot and get punished for actually farming lower keys so maybe you might be the one to get the one item dropping from the end of dungeon chest lol its already terrible I can run a few keys and not get anything when it drops like 3 pieces now they only drop one lol have to run 700 dungeons for ONE piece of gear but they removed RNG like they said which is great but failed to mention they were removing rng but not giving anyone gear lol

Finally no hard obligation to complete mythics just for the damn chest. As a primarily PvP player I felt forced to do mythics just not to be left out in a gear race. Fingers crossed, maybe they will even let us to actually get gear from PvP in this expansion.

I am concerned that Player versus Player (PvP) cache rewards will be the meta for gearing. Concerned only in that for those who do not want to do PvP content, they may be pushed to do so if they want to gear up quickly. I am trying to find more information on the PvP rewards that will be upcoming. Based on my searches, I am beginning to think the information isn't out.. yet. The way I am understanding this system of the weekly cache is that; doing higher content yields an average higher item level reward through the three options of raid and mythic plus (M+) and PvP. In my opinion, it seems the easiest way to get the best OPTIONS (best meaning highest item level average per week) of loot would be to grind PvP. If determining the item level of my PvP options is based on my highest Current Rating (CR) win after achieving the CR requirement then doesn't that mean I could get the same value of item level for all three boxes each week by just getting a win in my bracket and filling my conquest bar?
Please allow me to provide a little scenario to explain the logic of the question. I start the season at 0 CR, then in my first week I play enough to reach Combatant (1400-1599). Lets assume the item level is 500. If I earned enough conquest to reach 875 in that same week then all my cache options would be item level 500 right? Then the next week, I play enough to reach Challenger (1600-1799) and I acquire 875 conquest again, wouldn't my cache rewards for all three options be the next item level up (515 or something idk)? The increase would be repeating as long as I climbed the ladder. In comparison, lets say I do a M+ 2 and it gives us 500 item level option as well, if I want all my options for M+ to give me 500 item level then I need to run 10 M+ 2. The next assumption, if the LFR system provides 500 item level then I need to kill 10 LFR bosses to get all my options to be 500. It seems like the PvP route would be the least amount of work and time that the alternatives.
What does this mean? If this is how the rewards for PvP will work then I believe that suggests the work needed to reach the same item level options is most easily achieved through PvP. In comparison, I would need to complete a M+ 10 (or whatever level desired, just keep them the same) to get an item level of a value for the first option, then 3 more M+ 10 to keep the same item level for my second option, and then 6 more M+ 10 to keep the same item level for my third option. Now to compare to the raid option. I would have to kill 3 Heroic (H) bosses for an item level of a value for the first option, then 4 more H bosses to keep the same item level for my second option, and then 3 more H bosses to keep the same item level for my third option.
All this work would be to offer oneself the most OPTIONS of the same item level loot in order to attain the best possible upgrades.
What are your thoughts? Does this make sense, does this mean we all will be doing hard PvP to attain power throughout Shadowlands? This will be amazing for many players, crap for some, and okay for the rest (in my opinion).

Hey, maybe I was distracted when reading or just a strange guy, but I was confused with M+ reward system at first.
Would you mind adding for the example something like:
During a week, let's say you complete the following keys: +6, +10, +15, +10, etc.
Your rewards would be sorted as: +15, +10, +10, +6 etc...
Well, it makes sense instantly because I thought if I complete +10 key first, my first reward would be stuck with +10 and I would have to upgrade it somehow.
Thanks for guide!

First, I would like to thank Paryah for this guide and providing us with a clear understanding of "the weekly chest"/The Great Vault. I also look forward to additional updates as the information becomes available.
Next, in my opinion, this is a brilliant idea and most definitely better than the system in BFA, because of the following reasons:
1. Most Important.....The Great Vault rewards every player that participates in group activities such as pvp and raiding instead of only players who run mythic dungeons.
2. The opportunity for more gear choices to help with bad RNG luck with drops and bonus rolls which are not a guaranteed gear drop. Every week in BFA a raider would comment how he/she could not get an important gear drop or a mythic dungeon player complaining about getting the same piece of gear for 5 weeks in a row. I have felt that pain. We even had a raider (didnt pvp or mythic dungeons) that never had his bis mainhand drop during the entire raid tier. Talk about bad RNG.
Granted, with the new system we can only pick 1 piece of gear per week, but we are
guaranteed
to get a minimum of 3 choices from each (pvp, raid, or dungeon). If we complete any 2 of the 3 we get 6 choices, and if we complete 3 out of 3 (pvp, raid, and dungeon), then we get 9 choices. With the old system, only 2 tokens could be purchased per week with a cap of 5 tokens. Therefore, if we purchased tokens ahead of time for example, we could buy 2, 2, and 1 before starting dungeons and raids we got 5 rolls until they were used up, then back to 2 rolls per week. Usually, when starting the content we will roll on every boss that has a chance to drop our gear so it doesn't take long until we have zero tokens.
3. Alternate Reward of Brimming Anima Reserve if we don't like our choices.

I actually believe that this IS worse than the current BFA system, assuming you are not a player who continually pushes M+ keys. Obviously, if your current method of Game Play is to push as many M+ keys on a single character a week as you can, this is a better, overall system for you. If you are the Raider who, in BFA, went in and did your weekly M+ at as high a level as possible and then focused on other things...this system is overall no better than BFA and actually likely much, much worse.
The assumption I base this off of is that the content you complete appears to determine the equipment you get. So if you complete raid bosses you get gear from the raid. If you complete M+ Dungeons you get gear from Dungeons, if you complete PVP you get PVP based gear.
For raiders, by the time we're completing 10 raid bosses a week ***
IN BFA
*** we already have most of the gear we need from the raid. ASSUMING there isn't some arbitrary equipment gating in raids (i.e. you will see some percentage less than 1 full piece of gear per full clear), this is likely to make the chest choices for Raid Immaterial. If there is arbitrary gating there's going to be a lot of upset raiders having to spend weeks wiping on dungeon bosses only to get a single piece of loot every week with no gear trading. This CANNOT be a thing or no raid guild will be able to complete the "Race for First" for WEEKS to MONTHS as they wait for their Vault to feed them a piece of gear a week for 6 - 8 weeks before they can finally then attempt to accomplish the next higher tier of content.
Next, M+ 14 still holds higher level gear than heroic raiding...and broader gear as well. Most "BIS" equipment layouts over the last several expansions have NOT included all raid gear...almost all of them include at least some dungeon equipment...meaning that Raiders, for BIS, MUST M+. This is no different than BFA, but also no better. BIS Dungeon equipment still replaces raid equipment in most cases because significantly higher item level is largely the better choice...especially when the equipment is coming from a much broader pool.
So mythic raid guilds have 0 use for the chest other than potentially initially gearing raid drops quicker. This is no Different than BFA.
Heroic and Normal Raiders now are expected to complete up to 10 M+14's every week to gear up as quickly as possible...which is, again, at best, the same as BFA (for those who refuse to engage in the "additional gameplay" mechanic...they do their one M+ 14 in the week and log off for their SINGLE choice of loot...same as in BFA) and more likely a LOT more work than BFA, especially given the item level and drop rate of equipment from M+.
If you choose to engage in 10 high level keys every week, you have better odds of gearing up faster than in BFA form Dungeon equipment. However the downside to this is that 10 M+s is a LOT more time ask for players JUST to reduce RNG. Do you spend 40 minutes / week / character and have it act EXACTLY like BFA or do you spend almost 7 HOURS per character (assuming you complete all M+ on time) to get a choice of 2 additional items in your chest?
The cost/benefit analysis here is TERRIBLE:
* 40 Minutes Per Choice for one Choice,
* 80 Minutes Per Choice for two Choices.
* 133 Minutes Per Choice for three Choices.
Of note: Those same 2 or 3 choices are done in 80 or 120 Minutes over the course of 3 weeks. You are paying an 80 minute penalty for one additional choice in a week and a 280 minute penalty for 3 choices in a week over just waiting 3 weeks.
The system was billed as a reduction of randomization...NOT an increase in expected time spent. To be fair, assuming you put in the 40 or 280 minute penalty in a week there IS a reduction of randomization...a SMALL reduction in randomization in that you cannot get the same 3 pieces in the same week. It DOES NOT guarantee to you that if you only need one or two pieces that you won't STILL be tossing that gear as quickly as you did in BFA, it's just NOW you're going to be spending over 5 hours of additional time to toss that gear.

Can someone please clarify one thing for me, please?
In case of Raiding, does the Great Vault offer the same item level as the difficulty I completed, or the next difficulty?
Like in case of Mythic+ the Great Vault offers +16 item level.
M+15: 210 Great Vault: 226
Normal raid: 200 Great Vault: ?
Heroic raid: 213 Great Vault: ?
Thank you in advance!

I dont understand why some of you think the old system is better than the new system. Maybe I am mistaken but i think the new system is better in every way. Raiders and pvpers now have a shot at an extra weekly piece of gear that they didn't have before and with 3 choices. M+ players still get the same gear as before, but also get 3 choices. Players that do everything really have a lot of choices and that is how it should be. The new system benefits everyone without anyone being penalized.
Bonus Rolls vs New System: First, we have to remember to start buying tokens a few weeks before the content starts so that we have 5 bonus rolls for the week
for all content
. Then once we use those, the best we can hope for are only 2 bonus rolls per week and that is only if we remember to buy the tokens at the beginning of the week. Then we only get 1 bonus roll per boss with an equal chance of getting gold and no gear. In the last raid tier, one boss had 3 pieces of gear that i needed and 4 of the bosses didnt have anything. Therefore, unless I was able to run a high enough M+, I wouldn't even have been able to use both bonus rolls.

Cool another weekly vault i will never get. So much for alt friendly casual expansion. I got 3 chests in legion and honestly didnt find mythic+ to be fun and engaging content for my play style, obviously that means i dont raid either, and i hate pvp. I like collecting mounts, pets, transmogs, but getting stronger to be able to more easily solo previous expansion content to get said things is kind of important. (if they fix the scaling issue) I got 0 chests in BFA and honestly didnt even enjoy BFA till we got flying. and already bored of shadowlands this level design is beautiful as always but terrible when stuck on the ground and not even a flight whistle to get back to a flight patch quicker. dual boxing just so i can get a portal then fly to where i need to go. WoD keep me interested longer than this

Currently, on the Shadowlands Beta, that currency is 20 Brimming Anima Orb. When deposited into your Covenant's reservoir, that amounts to 500.
Based on the Wowhead tooltip, the Brimming Anima Orb gives 250 anima. There's some issue with the math here. Either you're receiving 2 Brimming Anima Orbs, or you're receiving 5,000 anima. Not sure which, but wanted to point this out.
Thanks!
Edit:
Great explanation. Really appreciate you putting this together.

Stupid question but I couldn't find the answer about the raiding objectives
Lets say in 1 week you're progression or just struggling
You do 2x Heroic bosses and go and do 1 Normal boss to get to 3.
Will that actually work, or do you have to do 3x Heroic or 3x Normal?

I was reading under alternative rewards and saw that you have 20 brimming anima as the reward which gives 250 anima each but then say that means you get 500 extra anima. Does that mean we only get 2 brimming or was the anima amount supposed to be 5,000?

Small question: I have done a few m+ this week, I know I will get the reward next reset but is it normal that I don't see on the UI of the great vault the "achievement" that I have done 4 m+? I still see the banners for 1 m+ and 4 m+ greyed out. Is that normal? Thanks.
EDIT: it seems like there is a bug that doesn't update the UI for some time:

So, I completed a non-timed M+8. For now it is
not counted
in the top 4/10 of the keystones i have completed only for the first reward. And here comes the question:
Is this intentional, or...?
Cause, you know, if we run several M+ that we
do
complete, jut not in time, but they don't count towards the top 10 that's pretty effed up.

The vault is listing the lowest key as what is being counted. Could that be a blizzard error or will it really count the lowest of the 4 as the vault is showing in game? If so the guide isn't correct as of now :( Unless I'm misreading it in-game but it is pretty clear it is counting my lowest with ilvl shown.

Incase anyone was having the same level of confusion as myself. The tooltip currently only shows your top 4 timed runs. But counts your completed untimed runs towards your reward count. So my example of this was that the tooltip showed my top 4 runs being a 7,5,4,3. But my reward was based on a 5. What is happening is that its not showing the untimed 8 and 6 i did. Which makes my true top 4 be listed as 8,7,6,5.
Picture to demonstrate.
But I'll submit a bug report.

Hi all
The Great Vault Is Your weekly Chest located in Oribos 64 31.
See My Video from opening The Great Vault -
https://youtu.be/C2oVlXwz0Mw
Every week You will get to pick 1 Item from maximum 9 items. Ilvl of items is depends what level of difficulty have you performed in the following criteria:
1 Raid:
1 Slay Bossys:
3 - 1 item
7 - 2 items
10 - 3 items
If you will kill bosses on higher difficult ilvl will be higher
2 Mythic + complited:
1 - 1 item
4 - 2 items
10 - 3 items
All it depends of what mythis+ you will finish as 1 , 4 and 10 ( If you will finish you first M+10 but your 2nd M+ will be juz 2 you will get first item from you first M+ )
3 PVP Honor rate earned
1250+ - 1 item
2500+ - 2 items
6250+ - 3 items
As I mentioned you can only choose 1 item; /, but at least there is a choice :)
Hope that help You :)

He has a confusing way of saying what ilvl it will be when you complete "X" amount of dungeons.
The first block will be your highest key level completed that week, no matter what.
The 2nd block will the the LOWEST of your top 4 runs. So if you run 4 mythic +6, it will be +6. If you run 2 mythic +6 and 2 mythic +5, it will be +5.
The 3rd block is then your top 10 runs.
Im not sure if this makes more sense, less or the same, but having him use "highest" and the vault saying "lowest" confused me a little.

Would just like to say as I haven't come across any info regarding this but in trial and error which messed me up the last two weeks.
When getting the raid boss kill markers so 1st, 7th and 10th. The ilvl of the item that your vault will produce is based on what ilvl the boss drops for that vault markers kill.
I've downed Generals and Sire last two weeks but they haven't been my 7th or 10th kill and as a result my only weekly options have been 213 items. Where as others in my guild have 220 options for their 7th and/or 10th which can only be based on them downing them as their vault marker kills.
Just giving people the heads up as I wish I'd seen this info before finding out myself the hard way

Ok is this new with the update or current because I only ever get one item out of all of the choices and to be honest I have yet to get an item that I can use ... I think the concept of the GV item is great but it fails when a person can get the same thing over and over again and not gain... for instance 3 weeks in a row I rank 2 for both raid and mythics and none of the options were of any benefit to me the pieces offered were either same lvl as what I already or lower.. granted I didn't get very high on mythics I have only just started them but still system seems broken... also in the guide it is good but I think more clarification might help in stating you get more options for choices of the one item you can get from GV the more you complete.

This guide is incorrect, its based off your LOWEST key, so if you do 3 15s and 1 2key, your loot is for the 2.

I'm confused can someone please clarify: I run LFR every week, sometimes I get 2x ilvl194 items, & 1x ilvl187 item, & sometimes I get 2x ilvl187 & 1x ilvl194 item... I've tried doing the last two wings, which the end boss yields a ilvl194 item, & resulted in 1x ilvl194, & 2x ilvl187... If I complete the whole raid of LFR, would that in turn yield 2x ilvl194, & 1x ilvl187? What determines my getting 2x ilvl194 items? Thanks!

The vault is pretty dumb. Same ring 3 weeks in a row. Both ring slots are 220+ yet I have a 207 helm and 213 pretty much everything else. Come on vault. Seriously? How is that fun? Condolences here is your stygia. Great, what? So I can socket the gear that you won't let me upgrade? What a joke.

I'm at about 18 level 15 or higher dungeons this week = 8 over the maximum needed for all 3 slots. I'm now getting a mouseover "greeting" advisin me to complete 2 more "at 15 or higher" to IMPROVE my rewards further? is this a bug or intentional i wonder?

TRANSMOG QUESTION: If I choose or , do I get the transmog visual for the items I passed on (IE , etc, if they exist)?

Quick question:
Say I do De Other Side +15 10 times in one week and no other dungeons.
Does the vault only give me possible loot from that dungeon or still any M+ dungeon?
Someone told me it gives you loot based on the dungeons that you did that week.

Has the Great Vault quest gone with 9.2? Can't pick it up anywhere. Maybe I'm just blind, thanks for any help in that case.
PS:
I've heard that a TW achiev in conjunction with GV could give a Tier Set piece, which - even being low Ilvl - would be a chance for us solo players to not feel kicked out of the game entirely. But no quest, no game, pity. It seems.
PS2: I would be very OK with a delay of 8 weeks or even 12 or so, and with lowish iLv of course, but if I get locked out of Tier Sets permanently (unless I play group stuff with sociopathic beings by force), then goodbye WoW.
PS 2: Well, on another toon now I could at least interact with the Vault. But something is very fishy here, I'm sure my other toon was able to get to the vault also (during 9.0/1).

For an LFR fated raid the great vault gives ilvl 252 gear (the bosses drop ilvl 265 gear) that is absolutely useless.

Last week I completed all of the Rated PVP and all of the the raid requirements because I wanted a gem socket for the raid reward and a piece of gear for the PVP reward. I chose the PVP reward first and it took everything so that I didn't have any in the raid sections for a gem socket. Live and learn I guess.
