What is Mythic+?
Mythic+ is a special type of dungeon mode in Dragonflight, offering players an endlessly-scaling challenge. High-end PvE players will want to clear a Mythic 20 dungeon weekly to receive the best possible loot from the Great Vault, awarding ilvl 483 gear. Individual runs reward the group with loot, based on the difficulty ran, up to item level 470.

Enhancement Shaman Mythic+ Talent Builds per Dungeon
With the loadout system we're able to tailor builds to each dungeon. Our Shaman class tree is particularly good for this, haivng an incredibly strong core of control tools alongside a variety of individual talents that are niche enough that they're optional, but
when
they're good they're
extremely
good. Enhancement is also somewhat unique in that it has two completely separate archetypes in
Elementalist
and
Storm
that play distinctly found on the spec tree.
For Season 3,
Elementalist
is much more dominant than
Storm
due to point limitations with the Tier 31 set bonus, and as such is recommended. Both are still supported here though for those who prefer each, so use the tabs below to switch between archetypes to find recommended per-dungeon builds you can copy directly in-game:
These builds path through both the

There are a lot of priority targets worth funneling into throughout this dungeon that have higher offset health than the pack around it. Consider prioritizing

every pull in here has a target that's more dangerous than everything else, and in most cases have offset health as well. In these packs your job is to funnel into these and kill them

, but regardless you will always have some high priority, offset HP targets in some pulls. Pulls without these also rely on even DPS to bring them down together, so knowing when to shift is important. If the pack contains a

involve some extremely dangerous priority mobs that we are especially good at focusing down. While there's often a lot of trash pulled with them, it's more beneficial to focus these while cleaving from them in the first pull with

, spread from the boss is a very short range and hard to get them underneath to use it.

also does too much damage to them to spread from the adds, making it difficult to get the payoff, so don't overthink it.

is useful for countering the pushback from

to keep uptime.

is also good to use here to help out the healer as the group damage can get overwhelming.

is used in the first trash section to remove the

, especially as multiple spears can get thrown out and cleared with one totem in larger pulls.

We're the only class able to consistently solo interrupt the

has a lot of "useless" trash in pulls that don't really do much, ther'es just a lot of them. We're much better suited leaning heavily into our funnel playstyle to even out packs, so while it may not be best for overalls on meters, it is best for timing the key. A couple of important notes are:

involved should have you using anything else as an anchor - preferrably

Hapless Assistants
are just extra tank damage, instead make sure to focus any Mages present as they have lethal single target casts and cannot be crowd controlled.
Alongside that, there's some optimization for boss damage as well:

Dealing with Weekly Affixes as an Enhancement Shaman
Each week has a rotation of affixes applied to dungeons, with the first added at
Keystone Level 7
, and the second added at
Keystone Level 14
. Below are tips and specific talent choices to deal with each of the weekly affixes, separated into between the level each affix activates, and tabs for each individual effect:
LEVEL 7
All of the affixes below activate at
Keystone Level 7 and above
, and focus on effects that trigger periodically while in combat.
Afflicted
Throughout the dungeon while in combat up to two
Afflicted Souls
will spawn and attempt a 10 second cast -
痛苦呼号
. If successful, it will reduce the groups Haste by 100% for 10 seconds. These have a 15 second ICD between spawns, but don't always spawn on this cycle.
This is stopped if any friendly dispel is cast on them, or they are healed to full. That means
净化灵魂
serves as targeted removal, but
清毒图腾
is especially powerful, as this will smart dispel the souls one by one in rapid succession. This is so helpful that, if you have spare points, both
图腾潮涌
and
收回图腾
are worth considering if your group is having issues, letting you do the majority of the work. In an emergency, you can even spend
漩涡武器
to
治疗之涌
any souls should the healer fall behind.
Entangling
Throughout the dungeon while in combat a vine will periodically spawn, snaring you by 30%. You have 8 seconds to snap this vine by leaving the circle, or you will be stunned for 3 seconds.
This isn't a big issue to deal with so long as you pay attention. You should also ideally take
雷霆之爪
so you can just shift into
幽魂之狼
every time it triggers to clear the debuff instantly.
幽魂步
is also a good emergency tool since it's off the GCD, and if you're consistently running into issues you can also add in points of
随风远行
. If you're caught with no spare tools, you can also shift to
幽魂之狼
and remove the slow penalty while you run out.
Incorporeal
Throughout the dungeon while in combat up to two
Incorporeal Beings
will spawn and attempt a 5 second cast -
失衡
. If successful, it will reduce the groups damage and healing done by 50% for 10 seconds. These have a 20 second ICD between spawns, and will spawn reliably on this timer.
These can be affected by any crowd control, so naturally we're useful for these with our wide array of control tools.
风剪
is extremely useful due to their eratic spawn locations, but generally as this is extra CC required, picking up
妖术
is a good pick.
巫毒掌握
is also recommended, allowing you to skip
奥拉基尔之风
when pathing deeper in the tree, allowing you to cover every spawn. Due to us having a cooldown on our CC, try to co-ordinate with your group members to avoid layering them.
Storming
Throughout the dungeon while in combat enemies will spawn tornadoes that spiral outward from them. If you are hit, the tornado despawns and deals light damage, and knocks you into the air.
We don't really have any strong tools to deal with this and this can be quite disruptive because we rely on sticking close for a lot of our tools. If there's dangerous mechanics coming up, it's sometimes helpful to soak them beforehand when things are quiet, but otherwise running out and using some of our ranged toolkit to stay active. Remember that they always spiral out in the same direction, so orient yourself based on this.
Volcanic
Throughout the dungeon while in combat volcanic plumes will spawn beneath players feet, preferring those at ranged. After 2 seconds these erupt, dealing 20% of your health in damage and knocking you high into the air.
Since these prefer to spawn on ranged, they aren't much of an issue for us to deal with. They will occasionally spawn if you move far enough away from enemies (or the boss leaps away), or if ranged players move too close. If that happens just watch your feet and sidestep.
LEVEL 14
All of the affixes below activate at
Keystone Level 14 and above
, and focus on effects that trigger at enemy health thresholds or on death.
Bolstering
Whenever a non-boss enemy dies, all enemies within 30 yards in combat deal 20% increased damage for the next 20 seconds. This stacks multiplicatively, but does not affect bosses
(note, this was changed in Season 2 to
no longer
increase health)
.
While this affix is active, due to Enhancement both using anchor targets for AoE and having funnel damage, you should be especially careful to not trigger this buff unevenly by focusing down the wrong enemies. Should you bolster things too much, use crowd control tools such as
电能图腾
and
Earthbind Totem
to help the tank kite if things get too much.
Bursting
Whenever a non-boss enemy dies it applies
爆裂
to all players, dealing Shadow damage over 4 seconds. This stacks, and will refresh back to full duration when a new one is applied.
This usually means that staggering enemy deaths is a good idea, but should you trigger too many at once it's wise to help your healer with offhealing. That means as packs are ending save some
漩涡武器
to assist, use
治疗之泉图腾
if taken and hardcast as many
治疗之涌
s as you can to keep yourself alive.
Raging
Whenever a non-boss enemy reaches 30% health, it enrages, becoming immune to crowd control effects for 30 seconds (
note, this was changed in Season 2 to no longer increase damage dealt
).
Due to the Season 2 change, make sure not to waste any of your CC tools when this is active. Enemies can still be interrupted during this, so watch for dangerous casts and aim to hold
风剪
to cover any lethal casts if this is active and you have no
安抚
or similar effect in your party.
Sanguine
Whenever a non-boss enemy dies, they leave behind pool of
鲜血脓液
. Players who stand in this take 15% of their maximum health in Shadow damage every second, and enemies heal for 5%. Pools last for 12 seconds, and multiple pools in the same location stack.
In these weeks, there's an argument to dropping
撼天雷霆
(although it comes at the cost of of our best stop) to get access to base
雷霆风暴
to knock enemies out. Be careful when they die as well, as multiple pools can be very dangerous, and don't kill enemies under targets during unstoppable casts/channels. Watch your
电能图腾
(especially with
守护者之棍
) as enemies die, and dismiss
土元素
if you have one actively tanking, as it'll stand in the pools until it dies.
Spiteful
Whenever a non-boss enemy dies, a
怨毒影魔
spawns in its place that chases players and slowly loses health. These deal heavy melee damage if they get in range.
These can be killed when they spawn, and with the amount of passive cleave Enhancement does that also slows with
冰雹
these are relatively easy to deal with.
陷地图腾
should be taken to root these as you kite these, and in extreme cases switching to just
雷霆风暴
to knock them away can be a last resort.

Enhancement Shaman Viability In Mythic+
After a strong expansion in both Season 1 and 2, bringing an extremely strong damage package it looks like Season 3 will follow that trend and push us even closer toward the in group of strong melee specs. Thanks to our wide variety of builds that can be used depending on each dungeon, ability to bring virtually any damage profile and
especially
the funnel through

generation paired with
灰烬触媒
and

we are uniquely positioned to fit into most group compositions. Depending on what a group needs it can flex into a number of roles, and our utility toolkit is evergreen - every group wants more control for packs.
The big downside however that still looks to be true, is that while it can be durable, if things deal too much frontloaded damage at key moments we simply run out of tools to survive due to the long cooldowns of
星界转移
,

and
复生
, which can be a problem. That said, when you look at what we bring to the table, so long as groups have room for melee and can cover for some of that durability weakness, we're one of the best picks around.
Another extremely beneficial aspect to our damage profile is that we do have builds that aren't overly reliant on having pulls manufactured to play around explosive cooldown moments. We can simply take things that are available more frequently to suit the group you're playing with and the tank's pulling style, which means anywhere from low to high keys there's something we can alter to fit.
More generally, a key part of Mythic+ is finding ways to improve, learn and adapt after the run concludes. This
innately
differentiates the good from the great: the ability to be introspective, break down a run after completion whether successful or not, and use mistakes to learn for future runs. One large element of this is the routine of
logging your keys
and going over those logs to identify areas that were problematic. Common examples are:
Pulls where cooldowns were required but not available, in order to identify where else they should be spent or what could be done to have them up - be that the route or misuse when they weren't needed
Individual elements of play that may not be up to standard within your rotation, or your use of utility tools
Rotational and target priority issues that led to dangerous targets surviving or members of the group dying
There are number of tools and communities that exist to parse, break down, and crystallize information from logs. For us,

does this for free.

casts to provide a large amount of group healing should things get dangerous. While the cost to output is high, avoiding group members dying is definitely worth it and they're strong enough to save someone who dips low, including yourself.
Control Tools
Enhancement has an incredibly wide control toolkit especially in AoE situations that lets it lock down a pack single handedly if things are layered together. The combination of

),

撼天雷霆
),

and
风剪
really lets you keep enemies out of the fight for an extended period, giving the rest of the group time to safely unload burst and prevent lethal casts going off. There's also cases where

can be useful especially during

weeks, but available talent points can begin to get strained.
Purge and Dispels
净化术
is widely useful in a variety of dungeons due to how many buffs can be removed, or shields that can be ripped off with just one global.
净化灵魂
is more niche but allows us to remove Curse effects as a DPS, which can help your healer especially if they don't have access to it themselves. Both this and
清毒图腾
work on
受难
spawns, with the latter being incredibly powerful as it effectively cleans a wave of spirits without much effort safely.
Windfury Totem
I'd consider this the elephant in the room because some builds available to us really struggle to take this. That's often because all of our damage builds start to get strained for points when we want to be flexible in AoE and single target at the same time, and given that Mythic+ heavily weights toward versatile profiles this is on full display.
风怒图腾
's value also drops significantly in AoE situations for some classes (which is often the main benefit of the extra auto attacks), so paired with how annoying it can be to constantly drop and drag around, it's not
always
as worthwhile as in raid situations. The chart below shows rough values for all specs in different situations, so use that to judge based on your group.

Note:
Enhancement is listed here assuming someone else is bringing it for you, so the gain is from having an additional talent point,
NOT from the totem itself
Usually the cutoff for this being worth it is if there's at least one but preferrably two other major contributors who benefit strongly from the effect in
all
situations (commonly
Rogues
,
Fury Warriors
, and some builds for
Frost Death Knights
). Just remember that while some groups will demand this of you (especially certain classes), don't feel obliged to take it if the group composition is more caster oriented, doesn't suit it or your preferred build simply can't fit it in. This is
extra
important in Season 3 because no matter what you drop to take it, it
will
be an important talent that will impact your performance in one aspect or another.
Other Helpful Effects
While a whole lot of classes bring it now, we are a good source of
嗜血
in the current season, which almost every group wants due to the nerf to Drums.
复生
is also useful to either survive lethal mechanics (though extremely infrequently), or as a way to skip certain segments of trash by just committing to a death run and ankhing in a safe place, resurrecting the group and moving on. Finally,
土元素
is a fairly unique extra tool that's not only a defensive for us, but can operate as a pocket tank to take some pressure off your groups tank, or delay enemies for a short period if they die. Just be aware that its AI isn't always on your side (especially during
血池
weeks) and it will often just opt to stand still once it gets aggro.
