Menagerie Battles Central (6.2)
This guide is for simple, fast strats that are RNG proof for the post 6.1 menagerie nerf. Your times may vary (these don't include the few seconds it takes to initiate the fight), and the example strat may need to be tweaked depending on your pets' breeds, crits, etc. You should be able to farm your wins across all your characters for
, or you can farm wins for
. See "Noteworthy Farming" for a Deebs carry pet strat (the only fight that gives significant XP), and for strats that require infrequent heals at the trainer (for farming your monument). If you do not have the pets listed, then you can visit the enemy pet's page for other ideas.
If you’re looking to track your collections, Wowhead now has the
Battle Pet Collection Tracker
Mount Collection Tracker
! To use the tracker, simply import your character to view your collections.
You can read more about how to use this feature here!
Please note this guide has been updated since the nerfs to Teroclaw Hatchling and Pandaren Water Spirit. Due to the different strategies, the listed timings for a few may be off.

(ArcaneStorm+ Mana-Surge) note: With three Nexus Whelplings you can do about 12 fights in 8 minutes without stopping to heal. P/P breed is best. On your last pet, if you're under 650 health, heal at the trainer instead. Ex:
(ArcaneStorm+ Mana-Surge), 2 dragons with magic attacksnote:because of the randomness of the +50% crit buff, you can get 1-3 fights out of each Nexus Whelpling, P/P is best. Samm nukes when your pet is under 25% healthEx:
draenor wins"never heal"
(Arcane Blast+Life Exchange+Moonfire) notes: You can potentially do long chains of never needing to heal/revive.
was second best at staying at the sweet spot. They (or other NFD) make good backup pets. After a fight, you get recovery healing of half your net loss.
(when you get to 700-1000 health)
A bit of a gamble, but 644 is fairly safe.
Please feel free to add strats in the comments, as long as the strategies don't need a dissertation to explain. Big explanations and a bunch of conditions are better left on the pet's individual pages.

For Eleanor I had to add a bite from Chrominius after the howl, otherwise Eleanor still had 60ish hps after the surge.
For Mr. Terrible the Sea Pony and Mr. Terrible have the same speed so its random each round who goes first. Blizzard RNG being what it is in most of my attempts the Sea Pony went last in the final round with Mr. Terrible and was almost dead at the start of the fight with Carroteye and never got the chance to do 2 Pumps. The fight was still winnable with the Dragonling but you might want to rework this strat.
I'm going to come up with a way to do alternate strats better, but until then, here's one for Kromli (credit to huldu):
(hunting party, blackclaw, bloodfang) 222. not S/S
(bone bite, dead mans party) 2x1
2(2)13d2 S 31
(reapply blackclaw if stunned)
10 rounds ideally (~1:02), 12 if stunned (1:24). can survive initial crit (even if stunned) if nothing else crits.
Gromli less predictable, but in worse case scenario another pet can deliver finishing blow (single hit, not many small ones).
As an addendum to the Draenor wins / "never heal" strategy, my
H/P breed was easily able to beat
by using Life exchange -> Moonfire -> Arcane blasting it to death without ever going to heal, or ever getting below 100 health even with every attack hitting it being a crit, and seems possible with other breeds too. The battle felt a lot less varied and easier to farm than
where my dragon sometimes was carved up by unlucky Fire quills.
This guide is now defunct thanks to the Howl Bomb nerf. The author should really update the strategies listed here.
Deeps xp farming note (Legion): Because of the change to Undead family mechanic (Weebomination does less damage during the bonus undead attacks) your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling will be lower on health when it swaps back in to finish off Puzzle. Use your own judgment on attacks / decoy at that point. I think Puzzle uses dodge on CD, but I don't remember well.
If you're like me and you're hoping Squirt (Deebs, Tyri, Puzzle) will be up one of the days during the current 'Pet Battle Bonus Event', Here's a list of all daily pet battles in order. Don't forget to equip your Safahi Hat!
