阿苏纳
阿苏纳
is located on the West/South Western side of the Broken Isles. A land rich in magical leylines and magic so condensed that it has formed crystals. Azsuna was a home to many elves, nightelves and highborne.
Azsuna is a very serene place, with mythical beasts that adorns it's plains. However is seems some of the Legions corruption has begun to take a bit of this land over. You will aid this land and those that currently reside in it by thwarting off some of the Legion as well as helping out a familiar dragonflight. The magical academy is also located here as Azsuna is a place that does hold vast amount of magic located in it's leylines. You will also learn about an old foe that you once fought during one of your trips back in time to the well of eternity.
Questing
In Legion they are introducing dynamic questing. Essentially this means that the zone you are in levels with you or you level with the zone. No matter what level you are the zone will scale to you, the player. This means you are able to choose whatever zone you wish to quest in without worrying about out leveling the zone or having it become irrelevant to your level.
To start a zone all you need to do is venture to your Class Order Hall and open up the scouting map in your missions table and select the zone. From here you will be given a starter quest to go to Dalaran and then it will lead you to the zone.
Leveling Path
This leveling path is by
@TemerityMyst
from <Temerity> on Windrunner-US.
Starts:
At Illidari Stand. Innkeeper is in a round building on the West side of the beach.
Do the quests in the starting area. You need to use the quest item on corpses so try to pile up some mob corpses close together then use the item. Finish the other quests at Illidari Stand until you’re sent across to Faronaar.
Go to Faronaar, pick up Bloodthorn, then head West. Release prisoners, kill mobs, and destroy interactables to finish the bonus objective and free the demon hunters, then head for Stellagosa.
Find Stellagosa, kill mobs in your way as you go get the key to free her. Once you’ve freed her, mount up and run to the next quest, leashing any mobs.
Kill the traitor and take the drake back to Illidari Stand, talk to Khadgar.
Head up the road to Azurewing Repose and grab the flight path. Talk to Khadgar then head to the massive cave to the North and kill worms. Droprate on this first item is bad so pull lots and nuke them down. Next you’re sent to the other cave to grab different crystals to heal some babies, and then you are given quests headed East.
Take the road South until you find an elf with a quest to kill some naga. Kill them for her, then she will escort you to Farondis.
Take the quests from Farondis and co. and go down to the beach and water areas to kill murlocs for bones. Go north to find the elder in the water, then go to the north shore to kill Gangamesh. Once that’s all done, head back.
Escort Farondis Southeast to the ruins. Once he stops, grab the quests to the right of you, then come back outside. Go back the way you came and stick to the right side of the path. Turn and go into the building and grab the quest item there. Come back out the way you came in, cross the path and go up the stairs to the next item. Move forward from there, cross the bridge on the 2nd level to find a rare and drop down to the last item you need. Go north up the path and kill naga for the quest items and complete the bonus objective, then turn in quests and use the Scying Orb.
Instead of continuing the Farondis questline at this point, go back to the ruined bridge and take a left down the ramp to the Shipwreck Arena and do the quests there. Be sure to complete the bonus objective in the cave, use the quest item near the slaves to arm them and attack the big mobs for easy objective progress. There are treasure chests in the Eastern part of the cave also!
Head out of the cave and talk to Seksa south of the exit. Go open the 3 cages and kill the prince, then head East to Shackle’s Den.
Grab the flight path and quests in Shackle’s Den. This flight path is very close to Dalaran, so if you need a quick trip to town it’s pretty convenient from here.
Go east and look for near-death sailors fighting the lobsters and goblins. Finish off the sailors and then kill their attackers to work on both quests at once.
Go kill the queen. The entrance to her cave is in the pool adjacent to the Tide Behemoth rare creature. Leave the cave.
Go Northeast until you reach The Ruined Sanctum. Talk to the ghost there and then head inside the lower hold of the nearby boat and kill the goblin.
Optional: The next few quests with Daglop can be skipped. They take a few minutes and are a little out of your way. Skip to 18 if you wish to ignore them but if you want to do them, head North towards the waterfall and up the ramp nearby and then over the bridge.
Talk to Daglop and sign his contract. Kill non-hostile birds nearby for easy feathers, go up the hills to kill Shadowrunners for the horns, and pick up olives off the ground. Make sure not to mount up when you grab the last item, turn in to Daglop immediately.
Go back to the cave at the base of the waterfall and kill the demon, then go back up and turn in to Daglop in the place where you met him.
Head back to Shackle’s Den and turn in the quest. Take a flight to Illidari Stand.
Mount up and head East back to where you left off the Nar’Thalas Academy questline.
Run up the ruin stairs and attack Athissa, then go search the 3 quest areas. Turn in to Farondis.
Escort Farondis to the academy and do the questline inside. Once you wake up in the cave, talk to Farondis and replay the events from his perspective.
Go outside and kill nagas, use the spear bonus button to knock a bunch of HP off the giants and get some easy progress. Complete the objective bar and then go kill Athissa.
Head East and blow the horn near the bridge to kill the rare, and then go up the North ramp and head for Felblaze Ingress and grab the flight path. It’s up to you if you want to do the quests here or not.
OPTIONAL: Take the quests, click on the nearby eye and scout the areas. Leave vehicle, grab new quests, and go kill the demons. Turn in the quests. Head Northwest along the path for Azurewing Whelplands.
Grab all the quests from the blue dragons, then head West as you work on the quests. Beat Runas in the cave and then finish the other quests on your way back. Do the next optional objective before you head back East, or skip it and turn in. Your call!
OPTIONAL: Go West and do the Challian’s Terrace Flight point, quests, and bonus objective. This is the closest you will be to the hub, so it’s now or never.
Make your way towards the Ley Ruins, kill mobs for crystals, click interactables, and kill the two quest NPCs. Turn in right away, don’t focus on finishing the Bonus Objective right away. For the next quest, use the extra action button and place the target reticle on the towers to disable them with the whelplings. There’s a big chest in a door near the last tower! Get to about ~85% on the bonus objective, and then go up the tower and kill Ael’Yith, and click the interactables around the room to wrap up the Objective bar. Take the drake on the balcony to Azurewing Repose.
Kill withered and heal the dragons, then go into the big cave and talk to Runas.
Finish:
Head outside and kill the mobs attacking Senegos, you’re done with Aszuna now, just head to Dalaran and turn in the “Fate of the Queen’s Reprisal” quest to finish the zone achievement.

There are many rewards you gain for completing a zone. Toys and Pets are unique to their zone, but something all zones do share is vast amount of Artifact Power. However the amount of Artifact Power you get through questing and hidden treasures varies a little bit.

Blizzard
We sat down with Senior Game Designer Eric Maloof to get some insights on the zone and learn a bit more about what you’ll find there.
Q. How would you describe the zone’s ambience? What’s it like?
Eric Maloof:
Azsuna is a broken land. It’s been cursed for a little over 10,000 years, before the Sundering. It’s also an invaded land, and probably has the heaviest concentration of demons in the Broken Isles aside from the Broken Shore. The Burning Legion decided to use Azsuna as a major warfront, taking over the sub-island of Faranaar and also staging a fairly heavy incursion onto the Isle of the Watchers. From the Suramar side of things, they invaded and created the Felblaze Ingress , basically.I like to call Azsuna the research park of magic for the elves. The Academy was the center of magical knowledge before Queen Azshara sundered the Tidestone of Golganneth, which caused the curse. Basically, it killed all of the elves and doomed them to an eternal existence—rather than turning into wisps and returning to the Great Tree, they’re stuck here as ghosts.Azurewing Repose is a beautiful quest hub, where players see a different side of Blue Dragonflight from the one they’ve seen up to this point. What we see here is really a final retreat for the oldest living blue dragon, and he’s just hanging on by a thread because of the magic that’s infused in the island. The pool of magic that he’s resting in keeps him alive now—and that, in turn, is attracting the nightfallen and others from Suramar.Azsuna is punchy and has a lot going on. It’s probably the one zone that isn’t necessarily dominated by any one given force, because realistically no one really comes here. You don’t imagine the elves from Suramar coming here, because it’s cursed. Why
would
you come here? Really the only reason is because Azshara is like, “Yep, I’m after the Pillar of Creation now,” and the demons have invaded we have to stop these guys from doing this. We normally wouldn’t come here. You don’t want to go here. It’s like a horror story waiting to happen—but you really don’t have any choice.
Q.
Which locations in Azsuna would you say are some of your favorites, and why?
Eric Maloof:
Well certainly Faranaar, just because of what happens to a place that was night elven and then gets hit with the full force of the Burning Legion. In lower Faranaar, where you do your level-up questing, you still have remnants of the elf ruins. But upper Faranaar is almost 100 percent just demons. This is what they do. This is what happens. This is what the whole world is going to end up looking like. The closest analog would be the demon world Mardum. So it sets the stakes for what we’re really fighting against here. I think we see a little of that in the invasions as well that are happening right now, but we don’t see as complete a takeover. You see the buildings coming in, and you can extrapolate what would happen.Another favorite of mine is the city in the Academy, the ruins of Nar’thalas. The team did just such an outstanding job to really get that vibe of “long, long, long ago, here was a really important point of elf civilization and it got smashed because of Azshara’s wrath.” I think the evolution—or de-evolution, when you compare it against some of the places in Suramar, for instance—is really interesting. The art kit is similar but aged and desaturated and cracked. I think it’s such an iconic anchor point of the zone.
Q. Why do you think a player would want to start in this zone first?
I honestly think all of the four level-up zones are extremely compelling. Certainly if they want to get more exposure to the immediacy of the Burning Legion, they’re going to get that out of Azsuna.
Q. What is it that will bring players back to this zone?
I’d say that when we were plotting out Azsuna, we put in a lot of spaces for top-level content, but with the scaling tech, we had a lot of opportunity for other content that we could satisfy everyone with.
We set aside the Timeworn Strand for a PvP skirmish, so there’s a naga invasion on the west coast encroaching into these elf ruins that have slid off into the ocean. Who knows, it might have been the Sundering, it might have been the Shattering. We have the Isle of the Watchers, which is all top-level. There, the Wardens faction has you deal with these monstrosities that have broken out of the Vault of the Wardens dungeon and set up camp in various places. In addition, the Burning Legion has taken one of the towers and is fighting the Wardens for the other tower with their felsworn—basically, the demon hunters and others who have sworn their allegiance to the Burning Legion. Then we have the two dungeons, The Vault of the Wardens and the Eye of Azshara, which is magically connected to Azsuna. It’s effectively the dungeon staging area for Azshara’s forces as they either magically transport into the middle of the zone or swim up through the ocean, as we show when you’re coming into the zone for the first time.So yeah, we’ve got a lot of reason to come back—plus we have profession content spread throughout the zone as well.
Q. Is there anything else that players should look forward to here?
There are so many little anecdotal things that might be too spoilery. One of the most compelling storylines focuses on Prince Farondis and his redemption. Here’s this guy who, in trying to do the right thing, damned his people for all eternity. He attempted to use one of the Pillars of Creation to stop Queen Azshara and the events at the Sundering with the Well of Eternity when that occurred. But in attempting to use an artifact of such immense titan power, Azshara got the drop on him, and all of his people blame him. To see him go through just being spit upon by his own people—and then going on to work with the player to help recover the Pillar of Creation—it’s really a redemption story. It’s really cool to see.Another good story is in the north, there’s a nightfallen who’s really trying to resist his condition. You’re kind of rooting for him and you’re not sure how things are going to turn out for him.

Is all of the profession based on content here? It sounds like this will be the optimal starting location for professions, which will lead to over-population. I am surprised Blizzard didn't spread out the professions amongst the 4 zones.

I would have thought there would be two main reasons for people choosing their starting zone: the lore and the faction rewards. Thankfully, this zone achieves both for me. I foresee a lot of casters kicking off here.
It's very likely that professions are spread around fairly evenly. There are specific recipes from the other factions which certain professions will benefit from, making those zones attractive for players wanting to learn those recipes as soon as possible.
Remember that world quests are where we will have the most control, to a degree, over what we focus on; not to mention them being the means for the best non-raid rewards, in the long run - and possibly the best means of upgrading our weapons.

Nice guide though it doesn't feel really optimized.
I found a better(at least in my opinion) guide on reddit. The leveling path feels a lot more optimized on the other guide.
I do like the fact that the toys, achievements, pets are linked, so props on that.
P.S. I checked all 4 zones and it seems like Stormheim is missing horde starting part. Would be nice if they are added as well.

Quests aren't linking right. Defending Azurewing Repose links to Hunger's End. All of them listed here and on Azuna Matata are wrong.

I'd like to point out some mistakes here, on point 14: there are no ghosts, is a stealthed worgen.
Also, there are no goblins in the makrura area, but gilblins.
