If you engaged in PvP early on in WoW, you might have fond memories of—and perhaps a few scars from—the endless tug-of-war between Horde and Alliance players at Tarren Mill and Southshore. To recapture that feeling, we’ll be opening a Team Deathmatch–style Battleground based on that timeless struggle. However, unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat.

Nice guide dude!
Not 100 yet, so no chance at a mount? What a bummer.
Baron Geddon still has his Living Bomb ability and according to the text, it's going to do 125k when it goes off. Oh the trolling is going to happen with people making macros to whisper target (or focus target) that they have the bomb and should move out.... evilness indeed.
Just nitpicking here, but in the database it says Southshore Slayer is for Horde and Tarren Mill Terror is for Alliance. Great guide though!
What item level is require to do MC? 630?
is there an ilevel requirement for molten core?
Is it safe to assume that LFR Molten-Core will have a weekly lockout like most raids? And, any indication that we can use a bonus roll to increase our chances to get either the enchant or the pet?
TM vs SS will be lots of fun... glad they have a 90-99 bracket as well... I can get all of my 90+ toons in on some action (especially because I am sure the title is character specific).
Flame crown for my rogue will be cool, and thanks for the tactics recap~
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out and if it'll change anyones opinions about their nostalgia-driven memories.
As a new player, (<90) based on how well the xpac roll out went, I am blocking out the time for the WOW anniversary event to play something else (any of several "on the house' type titles I have hoarded, as I don't want to waste my time sitting a a que, or stumbling around in a laggy slide show. I could care less about the typical flufftent provided in these kinds of things.
Just asking for clarification. Is the mount obtainable when you finish LFR? Or do you actually need a premade 40man group?
For some reason I can only queue for MC and SSvsTM in my garrison. Everywhere else it simply doesn't appear in raid/bg finder.
not enough to do for my 90 alts, but to turn them into twinks
Why do we have so many bosses if only Raggy drops loot? Wouldn't it have been better to have a one-boss raid instead of hours of killing trash and bosses for no reason?
What are the odds the Molten Core cosmetic enchant will turn into green fire for my warlock? Not good? Because that would make me so happy.
If you win a battle ground and the title on your horde toon, does that mean you get the title on your ally toon aswell (does it cross over?)
Just got Ragnaros down with a PUG-group. It was an amazing group. Now I (Elohir-Twisting Nether EU) sit here on my epic core hound mount with my awesome burning crown. ^^
Now with bonus adorable Molten Corgi art by Noxychu!
I did not receive the celebration package in my mail on any of my characters, but I did get the corgi. Is it a bug, or did I get the package somewhere else?
You can run the MC lvl 100 raid once per week to get the secondary loots ( enchant and pet )
Blue post link here :
For Molten Core is it strictly a LFR dungeon, or can we bump the difficulty and do it as a guild?
Seems like there won't be a Celebration Package this time around. :/
Can you use the titles earned in PvP as actual titles?
I know guide says you can only get loot once a week but has anyone tried yet? Molten Core isn't in my lock outs after finishing it, nor is it on the calendar. As insane as this sounds, I want to keep running the raid till I get that damn pet.
Interesting that they added the item in 6.0.1 but didn't hand it out
Recently confirmed on Twitter that the MC special event LFR will
have a loot lockout, so
will be farmable.
MC: You can run the instance as many times as you want to try to get Hatespark the Tiny & the Flames of Ragnaros enchant; no loot lockout.
Added 10th anniversary hotfixes and Twitter clarification on Rag loot to the post.
Does anyone know if the pvp title carries over to another faction?
Like, if I complete the achievement on my Alliance character, will I have the title on my Horde character as well or do I need to get the achievement again?
I'm assuming I do need to do the achievement again, but there are a few titles that carry over to the other faction so that's why I was wondering if it is the case with this one.
Thanks for whoever is kind enough to answer :)
As it seems a lot of groups are struggling with the mechanics of Molten Core LFR, I wanted to create a quick guide to provide fast instructions to be posted in chat; hopefully increasing your chances on a successful run. Feel free to comment/ critique, your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Molten Core LFR Guide
/i I recommend killing as much trash as possible, to prevent killed players from releasing and aggroing groups of mobs while running back.
/i Core hounds resurrect if they’re near other Core hounds.
/i They have to die at the same time. AOE them, and pull Boss after 1- 2 Core hound packs.
/i Kill his two adds 1st because they mind control.
/i CC the mind controlled players.
/i Decurse the Bosses curse.
/i Tank facing away from the raid.
/i Be against the wall, because he does a raid-wide fear.
/i Don’t stand in his frontal cone unless you’re a tank.
/i Two adds put a stacking armor debuff on everyone; kill them 1st.
/i Decurse the boss’s curse.
/i Kill mobs in room 1st.
/i Garr knocks people back; try and stay against the wall, or a spot with a lot of room behind you (with no adds).
/i Try not to kill too many of the adds because they explode, and increase his attack speed.
/i He is the most difficult in the raid.
/i He does a pulsing AOE that does a ton of damage to anyone standing in it.
/i Tank him at his closest to the entrance hallway.
/i Ranged stay at the mouth of the hallway.
/i Have melee run to ranged when he casts his AOE.
/i If you get the living bomb, run out of the raid as fast as possible; (past ranged into the hallway, or even into the lava; better you die than everyone).
/i Dispel players with ignite mana.
/i This boss casts a curse on raid members that increases magic damage done to them; dispel this ASAP.
/i He does an intense Arcane Explosion; ranged and healers need to stay out of range of that.
/i Melee should use defensive cool downs.
/i He periodically blinks into the middle of the raid; tanks should pull him back ASAP.
/i He has 4 adds that need to interrupt and kill 1st. (I’ll mark skull).
/i They heal the boss, and each other; and have 2 DOTs they spread around the raid.
/i The boss has a knockback-stun that should only affect melee.
/i Completely ignore his 2 adds (they respawn).
/i At 10 percent he starts AOEing the raid; make sure we get him down in time.
/i The boss won’t die; we have to kill his adds.
/i Kill the healers, then the elites, and make sure the elites aren't near the raid because they do a nasty AOE.
/i Have melee stand in front of rock (close), and ranged stand in front of another rock (far).
/i He does an annoying knock-back that will only hurt you if the rock doesn't catch you.
/i When he submerges, kill all of his adds, and he’ll resurface.
Here's a full video on the ragnaros kill -
MC needs some fixes: less rarity for the enchant/pet (especiallly the enchant since it wont be sellable afterwards) and make the enchant BOA and also allow hunters to use it on thier ranged weapon.
Wow, I remember the day when raid-quality loot would be under the heading of "Epic Gear" with a short note saying "it also uses model x and can be used for transmog", instead of being under the heading of "Transmog" with a short note saying "it's also really high level gear".
Apparently we've gotten so obsessed with how we look that actually playing the game is only an afterthought.
Love how WoW say November 21st through January 6th. Today's the 5th of Jan and the raid is not even available. :/ GG WoW
The dates on this event were
changed via Hotfix
The WoW Anniversary event ended a bit earlier than intended, so to make up for that lost time and any inconvenience we’re going to be re-enabling it for an additional week. The event--including the level 100 Molten Core raid--will be available again from January 6 at 10:00 a.m. PST until January 13 at 10:00 a.m. PST, for North American realms. You can see the updated event dates and times in the in-game calendar.
Hopefully it will come back
