Skyreach Dungeon Guide
通天峰
is a leveling dungeon in Warlords of Draenor appropriate for players of levels 97-99. The dungeon is available on Heroic, Mythic, and Challenge Mode difficulties at level 100. This guide will outline strategies and important role-based responsibilities for each of the dungeon's four bosses, as well as offer tips on particularly dangerous trash.
The entrance is located North of the Writhing Mire, Spires of Arak (click for map).
Rewards
Players who have built the
Lunarfall Inn / Frostwall Tavern
in their Garrison have access to quests that can be completed in Skyreach, one of which rewards a vanity item:

Heroic is lvl 630. Mythic loot can range between ilvl 685 and ilvl 725, in increments of +5 ilvls. The higher the ilvl, the smaller chance there is to obtain it.
Normal-mode dungeon gear has the chance to have a tertiary stat, and Heroic-mode dungeon gear has the chance to have a tertiary stat, Extra Socket, and/or be Warforged for a +6 item level boost. Mythic Warforged gear is a +20 ilvl boost, not +6 like heroic.
Most dungeon loot can drop from bosses across several instances, and there are more potential items for one gear slot than in the past. Below we've listed the trinkets and weapons that are unique to

as well as what other types of gear you can get from that boss.

Ranjit Tips & Strategy
Four Winds can go clockwise or counter-clockwiseThe

Ranjit will target random players (including the tank) with

, throwing a large silver chakram in their direction that will spawn a small, rotating wall of cyclones at the player's original location. Players should attempt to move out of the way of the

before it spawns.
After several of these

s, Ranjit will cast

, creating four walls of cyclones that divide the platform into quadrants. These walls will rotate either clockwise or counter-clockwise, and players must stay clear of the walls by running in the same direction they are moving.

Healers should be aware that the

target may move out of range and may require heavy healing.

If players are careful ascending the stairs after Ranjit, there are only two trash pulls between Ranjit and Araknath. The first pack is large, but the important abilities come from the

's damage; this serves as a soft enrage mechanic, as eventually a healer will run out of mana or

will exceed players' health pools.

Araknath, focusing a beam of light on the boss that will heal him for a small amount of health every second (0.75% per second on Normal difficulty, or a full 9% if a beam is allowed to heal Araknath for its entire 12-second duration). Since the Araknath fight is a DPS race, players should ensure he heals as little as possible by standing in the beams to block their path.

There are no new mechanics on Heroic or Challenge Mode difficulty, but there will be additional

beams to soak - two on Heroic, and three on Challenge Mode difficulty - and

healing is stronger - 1.25% per second on Heroic difficulty, and 2% per second in Challenge Mode.
Additionally, the damage increase on

is more pronounced at these difficulties. It is very important to prevent the boss from healing since

will eventually become unmanageable if the fight is prolonged.
A popular Challenge Mode strategy is to pull Araknath to one extreme side of the room, and have the DPS and healer stand in an arc behind the boss, in melee range. This minimizes the movement necessary to intercept
充能
beams, and keeps players close enough together that healers can use short-range AoE and ground healing effects to cope with the extremely heavy damage.

to go off. That last option is the most dangerous, and will require healers to have throughput cooldowns available.

lasts for 20 seconds. The tank should use a survivability cooldown in the last couple of seconds of the ability and rush back to the boss, to avoid the heavy party-wide damage from Rukhran's

ability, which he only uses if no players are in melee range.
High Sage Viryx

Wind maze: Avoid the red regions, follow the green pathImmediately following Rukrhan, players will encounter a wind maze.
The schematic below should assist players in successfully navigating the wind maze.
While personal movement-speed boosting abilities, and

should not be used, as there are untargetable birds that deal light to moderate damage and will cause players to be dazed.

Targeted by Cast Down

is a complex encounter that requires awareness, target-switching, and frequent movement.
The most important mechanic is

, a spell that Viryx will use against a random non-tank player.
The affected player will be seized by a

, who will begin to carry the player off of the platform, eventually dropping the player over the edge of the platform to their death.

s are susceptible to snares, stuns, and roots, and should be killed quickly.
The player being carried by the Zealot can still use all their abilities and can DPS the Zealot as well.
The targeted player has approximately 3 seconds between being chosen by
扔下
and being picked up by the Zealot, and should move in toward the center of the platform to ensure the party has plenty of time to kill the Zealot before the player is dropped off the edge.
Viryx also targets players with
眩光
, focusing the player with a beam of light that will leave pools of fire on the ground. The targeted player should kite the
眩光
away from the center of the platform, toward the edge, so that it does not interfere with Zealots.
Solar ZealotOccasionally, Viryx will summon an

Quick Tanking Notes, WoD Heroic Skyreach by Stackoverflo-Perenolde:
Rukhran Heroic Tanking Guide
Tanks: This is the DPS and Healer’s fight to lose, not yours. Rukhran summons adds that Can’t Be Tanked. Just ignore them, they fixate on not-tanks. The DPS guys need to focus fire and burn them down (preferably not on top of piles of ash if they want to live, cuz explosion when add dies on ash pile). Stand in front of Rukhran and take the pain. You can pop CDs for his minor mechanics if the healer is distracted by adds, or falling behind. The only exception is “Quills”. Two things, when you see this about to start: run and hide behind the pillar, but right when it’s about to end you need to GET BACK in front of Rukhran. If he doesn’t have anyone to Melee he will TPK your group with his Screech in 2 second flat. The only time he doesn’t screech is during Quills.
Araknath Heroic Tanking Guide
A decently-geared tank will not move much in this fight. Walk up to Araknath, stand in front of him, and intercept any energy beams that are convenient to intercept, but don’t go out of your way to do this, it’s the DPS’s job. Pop a minor CD every time he hits the floor and curves into a ball. Save major CDs for if the healer seems to be falling behind. This is a good fight to focus on maximizing your DPS output as a tank, cuz not much happening. That’s all.
Ranjit Heroic Tanking Guide
This is a boss kiting fight. The tanks job is to keep the boss out of the AoE the boss drops. Boss drops Four Winds onto the battle field which basically is a 4-armed wall that rotates, quartering the battle field. So you basically tank the boss and walk backward in between the rotating arms, being careful not to touch them, ’til they go away. Boss also drops little single wind walls (typically on top of DPS) that you have to maneuver around. Passing through a wall isn’t the best idea, but sometimes you have to, so pop a minor CD if you do.
High Sage Viryx Heroic Tanking Guide
Pull this guy back to the entranceway and put his back to it. DPS needs to understand that Adds are vastly more important than the boss here. Step 1: Stay out of the fire. Step 2: You’ll probably get hit by a beam: Kite the beam left across the entrance way to one corner, then reposition boss back slightly to the right of all that AoE that appears on the floor due to beam. Tell DPSes to kite any beams on them AWAY from the entrance. Do keep the Boss’s back to the entranceway. Kite him to the right for the next beam. By then the AoE for the first beam will have gone away and you can position him slightly to the left of where you started. And seriously, ignore the flying Adds grabbing your team mates, they can’t be taunted and it’s the DPSes problem. Focus on moving the boss out of the AoE. The ONLY Add you need to worry about is the construct. Tank the boss ON TOP of this robot-looking fellow and single target the Add, interrupting him when you see the word “shield” in his cast bar, cuz that’s a bad day right there. Please save your CDs and Potions for when one of the flying adds picks up your healer.

Ran this yesterday, and our tank must have followed your advice, because he did exactly what you suggest up top. However, he left it to the dps to take care of the flying add that picked up the healer. No harm no foul, was easy peasy!

It's counterintuitive to me, that you advise kiting Lens Flare to the edge of the platform on heroic Ranjit.
Surely it would be better to kite it around the middle of the platform. That way there's;
No chance you'll potentially force healer or dps through puddles on the edge during a Wind Wall.
And always a clear path for the tank.

Thanks a bunch for this guide, when I was rolling through the normals and heroics, I'd never really paid attention to the mechanics of the fights, but the addition of mythics makes knowing each boss imperative. 10/10

Well, just soloed this on normal difficulty on lv 100 Hunter. Spirit pet helped heal, and it wasn't hard to kill the flyers with cast down before the edge. IL is only 690 and was in beast mastery. Just follow the green path in the wind area, and if you start getting blown towards edge, jump back to the green so you don't die falling. The right path is fairly easy, and the left is just slightly harder, but sill doable. Kill the constructs at Vyrix, and try to stay near the entrance when you hear 'Cast them down!' You'll have a bit more time to kill your flyer. Good luck!
