Introduction
决战奥格瑞玛
(SOO) is one of WOW’s most iconic raids. It is also one of the most confusing with a myriad of doors and potential paths and complex bosses with very specific mechanics. There are many great transmog sets in the raid (especially the
玛诺洛斯的獠牙肩甲
) and a highly-coveted mount,
库卡隆战蝎
.
This guide is intended for high-level characters that want to solo SOO for loot and gold. The guide will help you learn the proper paths to get through the raid, boss mechanics, things to avoid, etc. The end goal is to minimize your time and frustration in the raid and make it as easy as possible.
In general, this guide assumes that your character is max level and has decent gear. I also assume that you are running the raid on Mythic, which should pose no challenge to most characters. The guide will NOT generally cover boss mechanics unless there are specific mechanics you need to know for the boss.
Why is this guide necessary? Parts of SOO are, quite simply, a maze. There are doors everywhere that only unlock in certain scenarios, there are loops you can run around forever, etc. Several of the bosses have VERY specific mechanics to understand and tricks to do them quickly without drama. Most unfortunately of all, there is one boss (the Paragons of the Klaxxi) with a major bug that can be EXTREMELY frustrating. I've soloed the raid hundreds of times looking for specific items and I decided a detailed guide would be easier than digging through comments on the various bosses and trying to get through the map without getting lost.
Siege of Orgrimmar Raid Entrance
The entrance to SOO is in the
锦绣谷
. There are two versions of the Vale – The MOP original and the Legion assault version. In the original Vale, the entrance to SOO is below the steps leading away from the Mogu’Shan palace. In the Legion assault version of the Vale the entrance is in the same location but you must swim down through the lake to reach it.
SOO Entrance
If you completed the MOP challenge mode dungeons in time back in MOP, you received a set of Challenger's path spells. One of them (
魔古皇帝之路
) lets you teleport straight to the Mogu'shan palace and avoid a lot of flying to get here.
Preparing to Solo SOO
The most important thing you will need in SOO is bag space. Lots of bag space. A vendor mount is also strongly recommended. You should aim for 40+ free bag slots, if not more. If you have a vendor mount such as
旅行者的苔原猛犸象缰绳
there are a few places in mid-raid where you mount to sell gear but much of the raid is underground where you cannot mount. Engineers can use
基维斯
or something similar to clear their bags at least once in the raid.
The other thing you need to plan for is time. This is a very long raid. Expect to spend at least an hour in here, perhaps even more.
SOO Trash
For the most part, you can skip any trash mobs that are not directly in your path if you are trying to speed through. Killing a lot of trash is boring, but it can also be lucrative. All trash can drop greens and, more importantly, which sell very well on the AH. There are few places where the trash is dense and I generally clear the room of trash for extra cash, but sometimes I skip while trying to speed run.
Guide Format
This guide will be arranged around the bosses. Each will have two parts – Getting TO the boss and details on any mechanics you need to know to defeat the boss.
Immerseus
Main Wowhead boss page:
伊墨苏斯
Getting to Immerseus
When you enter the raid, make sure it's on the proper difficulty setting. You really, really don't want to get to the end and find out that you've done it all on normal and don't have a chance at the mount. (Been there, done that). If you aren't sure, scroll up in the Chat bar after you enter and it should say "Welcome to Siege of Orgrimmar (Mythic)". If you got it wrong, go back out and set the difficulty properly.
When you enter the raid, go down the ramp, past some trash and down the hallway to Immerseus. You should be able to skip all of this trash and head straight to the boss.
Immerseus Guide
Immerseus is two phase fight. These phases alternate until the boss is defeated. It usually takes 4-5 iterations to finish the fight.
Phase 1 – Directly attacking the boss. Nothing complex here, just attack the boss. It will only take a few hits for Immerseus to “Split” and disappear.
Phase 2 – A series of black and blue blobs spawn above Immerseus' pool and fly to the edge of the room. You can either
kill
the black blobs,
heal
the blue ones, or a combination of both. The more blobs you kill and/or heal, the fewer phases you have to go through. Tip – After phase 1 finishes and the boss disappears, pan your camera UP while facing the pool in the center of the room. You will be able to see the black and blue blobs appear and watch where in the room they will land. This helps you start moving to a location in the room with a higher concentration of blue or black blobs right away. Use any speed boosts you might have to get to as many blobs as you can. Don’t forget AOE’s (i.e. concentration, D&D, etc.) dropped in front of blobs.
Once Immerseus is defeated, loot appears in a chest at the west side of the room.
The Fallen Protectors
Main Wowhead boss page:
鲁克·石趾
Getting to the The Fallen Protectors
From the loot chest, head up the stairs. At the top of the stairs is a small platform highlighted with a beam of light. Step on the platform and click on the extra action button that appears. This triggers a skippable cutscene and opens the door to the south. Go through the door, up the stairs and jump down into the area with the next bosses.
The Fallen Protectors Guide
The Fallen Protectors is a pretty simple fight. Kill all three bosses and it is over. The only real mechanic that comes into play is that all three need to generally die together. They have a “raise the dead one” mechanic if they don’t. For the most part, you can just blow them all up and they will go down with little fuss. Ignore any other mobs or mechanics that might pop up and zerg the bosses.
Norushen / Amalgam of Corruption
Main Wowhead boss page:
腐蚀混合物
Getting to Norushen / Amalgam of Corruption
After looting the protectors mount up and head east. Exit the area, and hang a right. Check your map and go towards the “Big Blossom Mine." There is a lot of trash in the way, most of which can be skipped. In front of the mine is a large Sha named
狂热
. Kill it and head into the mine. Follow the mine to the end and head into the next room where you will see Norushen at the far side, in front of some doors. There’s about a minute of dialogue until you can finally talk to Norushen and ask him to start the encounter.
Norushen / Amalgam of Corruption Guide
This is a great boss with very cool mechanics in a real raid. Soloing, however, you just nuke him and he dies quickly. Loot and move on.
Sha of Pride
Main Wowhead boss page:
傲之煞
Getting to the Sha of Pride
After the Amalgam of Corruption dies, the doors behind Norushen will open. Head through them into the Sha’s room. The room is full of little Sha beasts. You must kill all of them to get to the boss. Be sure to loot the little ones – They drop a lot of motes and greens. Once they are dead, you will be blown backward and the boss will appear.
Sha of Pride Guide
Again, another simple boss. No mechanics, just nuke it down and loot from the chest that appears in the west.
Galrakas
Main Wowhead boss page:
迦拉卡斯
Getting to Galrakas
After some NPC dialogue, a portal will appear in the southwest corner of the room which you should enter. This will place you on a ship outside of Orgrimmar. Talk to Jaina on the ship to “report for duty”. You can either take the portal she then creates or if you have mounted water walking (i.e.
冰霜之路
) you can jump off the boat and head in faster. If your bags are getting full, this is a good place to pop the vendor mount and clean it out.
Your goal is to destroy all of the seven cannons south of the docks. Each cannon is destroyed by clicking on the pile of red mines next to it. Sometimes you can slip in front of the cannon and click on the mines without aggro’ing the trash around it, sometimes you just have to wipe out the trash. When all seven cannons are gone, Jaina’s ship will come into the docks and she and her posse will teleport in. Talk to Jaina to begin the encounter.
Galrakas Guide
The boss area is a long road leading to the docks with locked towers on the north (right) and south (left) sides. To beat the encounter you need to protect the NPC's opening the door to the south tower (left side, with your back to the dock), protect Jaina and other NPC’s, knock Galrakas out of the air with the cannon on the top of the south tower and kill Galrakas.
During the encounter, mobs will come down the road and engage Jaina and the NPC’s at the docks. You must kill these NPC’s before they kill Jaina and company. The other, and more important part of this phase is protecting the NPC’s that run up to the south tower. An enemy mob will occasionally appear to attack them. In general, you should stand near the south tower when nothing is going on. When the mob spawns to attack your NPC's at the tower door, kill it then run down and kill the mobs attacking Jaina and crew. If you have good ranged AOE, there's a spot near the tower where you can stand that lets you get to the tower mob and the mobs on the road. Works for some classes, not for all.
At the beginning of the encounter there will be a “status” on the top center of your screen that shows the south tower door progress. When that reaches 100%, the door to the south tower will open. You should finish up any mobs attacking Jaina and her bros and run up to the top of the tower, killing everything on the way up and everything at the top of the tower. Jump into the cannon, find Galrakas in your sights and blast it down. There will be other drakes in your way – Try to avoid shooting them and directly go after Galrakas. You will have to shoot Galrakas 3-4 times before it falls. Sometimes the cannon controls can be tricky and bug out – Hold down the right mouse button to aim and use very small mouse movements to adjust. You might get stunned on top of the tower - That's a demolisher in the road hitting it. Just ignore it and kill the demolisher when you get down. You do NOT need to worry about the north tower anymore - You can down Galrakas busing the cannon only in the south tower now.
Once Galrakas goes down you’re pretty much done. Go back down to the road (either via the stairs in the tower or jumping down to the east (which won’t kill you) and wait a minute. Galrakas will land and you can kill it with a few attacks. Loot and continue!
Iron Juggernaut
Main Wowhead boss page:
钢铁战蝎
Getting to Iron Juggernaut
Once Galrakas goes down, follow the road towards Orgrimmar. You will have to detour to the left, as the main road is blocked. Follow that detour for a bit, then hang a right to head towards Org where you will see the boss.
Iron Juggernaut Guide
This boss had no effective mechanics to worry about – Nuke him down and keep moving.
Little known fact - hunters who have used the
机械联结烙印矩阵
can actually tame this boss.
Kor’Kron Dark Shaman
Main Wowhead boss page:
碎地者哈洛姆
Getting to the Dark Shaman
Once you’ve looted the Juggernaut, head towards the gates of Org. The gates will eventually open for you and you can proceed in. Ignore any trash as you go through the gates.
Once you reach the main area of the Valley of Strength there will be a ton of trash. You can either choose to skip this trash or collect it all with your mount and AOE it down with the bosses. The Dark Shaman are in the main room in Org. Basically, go straight ahead and into the door in the building in front of you.
Dark Shaman Guide
Again, not much to do here. The bosses share a health pool, so you can focus on one of them. They die quickly. Loot and move on!
General Nazgrim
Main Wowhead boss link:
纳兹戈林将军
Getting to General Nazgrim
After you kill the Dark Shaman, head out of the building, mount up and go to the northeast into The Drag. At the end, you will find one NPC and some catapults – Kill everything.
This is your last opportunity to use your vendor mount until the end of the raid. Mount up, sell everything you don’t need (Soulbound, BOE greens, old food, etc) to clear out your inventory for the rest of the bosses. Prioritize the one mob that attacks the door-demolishers then hop down and get the ones on the road, if they are left.
Head into the tunnel that leads into the Cleft of Shadow. Follow that tunnel until it opens into a big room. Immediately turn left, jump down and enter the tunnel next to where you land. There are some stealthed NPC’s in the tunnel that you will aggro and various other mobs. Ignore them and let them chase you. At the end of the tunnel is a large archway into Nazgrim’s chamber. In the chamber are a ton of mobs, in two groups. Pull both sets.
General Nazgrim Guide
Once you aggro both sets of trash in his room General Nazgrim will come at you along with the trash. This shouldn’t pose any problem – Some basic AOE will take care of the trash and you just nuke Nazgrim down without worrying about mechanics.
Malkorok
Main Wowhead boss link:
马尔考罗克
Getting to Malkorok
After killing Nazgrim, head down the elevator in the northeast of the room. Follow the tunnel to the room full of trash. You can pull this trash or skip it. Head to the open doorway at the top of the small set of steps you can see ahead to your right, as shown in the map below.
Door
Kill the trash at the door and head into yet another room full of trash. Turn left and head to the stairs at the end of the room on the right side. Head up the stairs, across the bridge to the boss.
Malkorok Guide
Again, no real mechanics. Wipe him out. The only real danger here is fall damage after he throws you into the air a few times.
Spoils of Pandaria
Main Wowhead boss link:
秘藏的潘达利亚战利品
Getting to Spoils of Pandaria
Once Mr. Malkorok is dead, exit his chamber to the north/northwest. Go down the corridor, and down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs kill the trash and go through the archway directly in front of you.
In the next chamber, kill all the trash including the Scorpion. Once the trash is dead, click on the lever. That lever will open a gate to let your allies in – Don’t go through that gate! You want to go through the big door that opened to the northeast of the room.
Follow the cavern down to a big closed door. Click on the door to open it. This will lead you into a large double chamber called the “Underhold Nexus”. You’ll be here a lot. When you enter the Underhold Nexus there will be some trash. Ignore and avoid it – Your allies will take care of it for you.
Below is a map of the Underground Nexus. You will pass through three of these doors to get to various bosses. The first door you take is the one in the second half of the chamber, to the southwest. Click on the door to open it, then kill the guard to approach the encounter.
Door to Spoils and Thok (Go here first)
Door to Siegecrafter (Go here second)
Door to Paragons and Hellscream (Go here third)
Spoils of Pandaria Guide
As you approach the area, you will see treasure rooms to your right and left. If you look carefully you will see that there are actually TWO treasure rooms per side, separated by a gate, making four total treasure rooms. The map below shows the four treasure rooms with pins in the four rooms you will go into, in the order described below. (Hover over the map pins to see the order)
First treasure room
Second treasure room
Third treasure room
Fourth treasure room
Each of the four rooms has a chain going down into it and a big lever by its gate. Your job is to open all of these levers. You “charge” the levers by click on the boxes in the rooms and killing what comes out. You will see a progress bar on the bottom of your screen for each room. When this bar fills up it will glow and you can click the lever in that room.
Spoils does have a timer at the top of the screen. If that timer expires you are instantly killed. That shouldn’t be a problem, however – just don’t nap while things are moving and you will be fine.
To start the encounter, go to the chest on the walkway and click on it. It doesn’t matter how you answer the questions – It will get things moving. You’ll see four gates (two per side) near the chest. As the encounter starts, two of these gates will open. Pick an open gate and jump down into the room.
In each treasure room are small, medium and large boxes. Your goal is to click all of the medium and large boxes and about 1/3 of the small ones. When you click on a box, it will disappear and spawn an NPC to kill. When you kill enough NPC’s you will have fully charged the bar at the bottom of the screen and can click on the lever in the room. Don’t leave anything alive behind you.
Once the first treasure room is clear you need to go UP the chain to the center and down the other gate that is open. Open the boxes that you need to charge up and click the lever. This time, however, you can go straight through the gate into the third room. Again, clear out the boxes and click on the lever in that room.
To complete the encounter, click on the chain to go back up to the middle and go to the other side to complete the fourth room. When that is cleared and its lever is clicked you have completed the encounter. Head up the chain to the center and you can loot the chest.
Thok the Bloodthirsty
Main Wowhead boss link:
嗜血的索克
Getting to Thok the Bloodthirsty
Getting to Thok after finishing spoils is simple – Continue down the walkway to the southwest. Keep going until you get to the boss. There’s some trash when you get into Thok’s chamber. For the most part, ignore it and go up to the boss at the back.
Thok the Bloodthirsty Guide
Thankfully, this is a smash-and-go. You won’t see any mechanics, just kill the big dinosaur.
If you happen to be a hunter, you CAN tame Thok. If you do...
Siegecrafter Blackfuse
Main Wowhead boss link:
攻城匠师黑索
Getting to Siegecrafter Blackfuse
After killing Thok, return to the Underhold Nexus. The entrance to Blackfuse’s area is the big door straight in front of you.
Go through the door and kill the trash. When the first of trash is gone you will get two more waves of mobs. Kill them. During this you will be targeted by mines which you should kill. Once the trash is dead jump into one of the three big vertical pipes in front of you to get to the boss’s chamber.
Siegecrafter Blackfuse Guide
Again, another simple boss with no mechanics you will run into. Nuke him down.
Paragons of the Klaxxi
Main Wowhead boss link:
掠风者克尔鲁克
Getting to the Paragons of the Klaxxi
Once Blackfuse is dead, head west/southwest to the pipes that got you into the room. Jump in the middle pipe and head back to the Underhold Nexus. Go through the big door to your left that is now unlocked. Go through the trash and into the Paragon's room. Again, more trash to nuke down, plus your old friend
科沃克
. Kill him too. Once the trash is dead, there will be some NPC chatter and a crystal will appear in the middle of the chamber. Sometimes the crystal is under the dead trash and you have to wait until it despawns. Make sure the NPC dialogue has complete before starting. To begin the encounter, click on the crystal.
Paragons of the Klaxxi Guide
This is the touchiest encounter in all of SOO. It requires a lot of attention and you need to be very precise to get through it properly.
First and foremost, there is a nasty bug that has remained unfixed for years. If you kill the individual Paragons too fast the encounter will bug out and one of the paragons won’t fly down. You remain in combat and cannot complete the encounter. You have to find some way to suicide or even hearth out. It happens. It’s a pain. If it happens, to you, report the bug to Blizzard, just to put it on record. To avoid this bug you must be sure to ONLY kill one paragon at a time and always leave two alive until the end, as described in the guide below.
The second challenge here is that some of the bosses have mechanics that CAN kill you, mostly by MC’ing you. You have to prioritize which Paragon you kill. In general, you want to kill these three mobs as soon as they drop:
Rik’kal (turns you into a scorpion which kills you)
Kaz’tik (MC’s you)
Xaril (MC’s you)
Once you start the encounter, three Paragons will fly down. Look at which ones they are and kill ONE of them with a single target attack, keeping the above kill order in mind. Turn your back on the other two to avoid accidentally killing them. Wait for another Paragon to join, so you have three against you again. Again, kill ONE more of those three with a single target attack ensuring you are killing any dangerous mobs. Keep doing this, patiently waiting until a 3rd one has joined the fight before you kill one. Eventually, they will all have come down to join the fight and you can finish off the last two and be done. Before I kill the last two I usually pan my camera way up and look around the room to make sure none are left to fly down.
A few other tips for the encounter:
Ignore the bloods.
You will probably get stunned. This generally works out fine, but it might be inconvenient if you are trying to kill one of the Paragons that MC’s you.
Touching the Hungry Kunchong kills you instantly. This can be handy if it’s up and the encounter has bugged out.
Garrosh Hellscream
Main Wowhead boss link:
加尔鲁什·地狱咆哮
Getting to Garrosh Hellscream
Once you have vanquished the Paragons, the door to the south will open. Head through it, down the corridor, killing the trash as you go. You can safely ignore the ichors. Go through the doors at the end, into Garrosh’s room. There is, unfortunately, a ton of NPC dialogue before you can engage the boss.
Garrosh Hellscream Guide
As with many of the bosses, this one is kind of a snoozer. Engage him, and run down his health. A few dots will usually do it. He goes through several phases - Just keep bashing away until his health goes to 1. At one point you will be teleported to the Temple of the Jade Serpent. Kill all the Sha beasts there, tag the boss and you’re back to his chamber. Keep hitting him to keep his health down to 1 (Moar dots!). If you are on mythic, you will eventually be sent to an instance of a destroyed Stormwind where you can
FINALLY
kill him and be done with this massive raid. Ohthankgod.
Once he’s dead, you can finally hop on your vendor mount and clean out your inventory, if necessary. This is especially handy if you’ve filled up your bags before Hellscream and don’t have enough room to loot.
Wrapping It Up
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you quickly solo SOO without trauma from the tricky bosses or getting lost in the underground maze. If it seems complex, don't worry - After your 214th attempt for the Tusks and mount it will seem simple.

On the Spoils of Pandaria ...If you die the first time and start again, do
NOT
be tempted to "
kick the machine.
" I did it, just out of frustration and popped up the protection timer. Try to run out, you get killed even in the other room.
DO NOT KICK THE MACHINE

Just a note for anyone who doesn't have a vendor mount :
At the point where the allies run in (just before you do Spoils of Pandaria) there are a couple of NPC's with them that you can sell your accumulated rubbish to. Tinkmaster Overspark will repair your gear and buy your junk and another vendor who only sells Vanishing Dust.

March 2023 and still an excellent guide for those of us that have never set foot in this raid before! Only doing it to get the scorpion pet for mu hunter and it would have been hellish otherwise. Thank you.

Did this run for the first time and was worried about getting bugged with the Paragons. Either they fixed it finally, or I just lucked out, because I never got MC'd even when I accidentally AOE'd them. Still a great guide though!
