Master of Isle of Conquest
征服之岛
Tired of being a Battlemaster?
Gilneas and Twin Peaks getting you down?
Perhaps you just need something new to go after.
Then maybe one of Wrath of the Lich King's new fandangled Battlegrounds, Isle of Conquest, will have you hopping on your toes faster than you can say 'Glaives incoming!'.
Added in Patch 3.2.0, Isle of Conquest is a 40v40 battleground. It's similar to Alterac Valley in that it is won by defeating the enemy general or destroying all of the enemy reinforcements but has the feel of Arathi Basin by the added nodes that the factions must capture and control in order to gain resources or valuable siege engines. Players reach the enemy general by destroying the gates, which only take damage from bombs (from players) or vehicles (such as Demolishers, Siege Engines, Glaive Throwers and Gunships).
So let's get into the meat of it, you're here for a sweet tabard and 155 achievement points, right?
I will begin this list, in my humble opinion, by starting from the easiest to hardest achievements in obtainability.
四车库
In Isle of Conquest, control the following vehicles: Glaive Thrower, Catapult, Demolisher and Siege Engine.
Yo dawg! I heard you like vehicles, so I put some vehicles in your battleground so you can drive-by while you ride-by.
This achievement sounds as simple as it comes across. To get credit for each vehicle you just need to hop in. Glaive Throwers spawn when your team controls the Docks, as well as the Catapults. Demolishers spawn at Workshop when your team has control of it and the Siege Engine spawns 3:30s after your team captures the node. The Siege Engine has the capability to hold four players - in order to get credit for this one you must be in the drivers seat. Be prepared to click fast against other players! This achievement can be completed over multiple games.
无处不在
You must gain credit for killing (at least) one member of the opposing faction at each of the listed locations: Alliance Keep, Horde Keep, Docks, Hangar and Workshop.
Another one feasible in a single game. Simply follow the majority of your team around the Isle and rack up as many locations as you can. Don't forget to shift+click this achievement for easy tracking. If you're finding it difficult to get a kill in your keep, hang back about two minutes after the game starts. You'll either see enemy players catapulting in from Docks or jumping down from the gunship at Hangar to start slapping bombs on your gates. Grab a buddy or do it yourself and start choppin' them players! If it's looking like at the end of each game your missing a location, bring a friend along as it's easier to take on a player at a swarming enemy base or make a quick rush to that last place where you may need a kill. This achievement must be completed in one game.
后院起火
In Isle of Conquest, enter the enemy courtyard while their gates still stand.
This achievement is not as dirty as it sounds. In fact, it is probably one of the achievements that requires the least amount of effort on your part! About a minute into the battle, your team should either control Docks or Hangar. Once the node is captured. Simply grab a catapult or hop into the gunship from the teleporter and when the enemy base is in sight, presto! Hop down or launch yourself into the fray and viola, you've breached the enemy via a back door job! Yum.
炸弹强人
In a single Isle of Conquest battle, use 5 Seaforium Bombs on the enemy gates.
And boom goes the dynamite.
In order to complete this achievement you must control the Workshop. Conveniently placed outside of the building the Seaforium Bombs are piled up for your disposal, you need to run these bad boys up to the enemy keep and use them, five times. These bombs are not to be confused with the Huge Seaforium Bombs that are actually found inside the enemy keep, those will not count towards this achievement. Also note, you may die as many times as you want during the process, in order for this achievement to ding you just need to do it five times before the game is up. This achievement must be completed in one game.
Alliance players! Your faction does not often capture Workshop. Fear not, my ferocious friends, try and convince your team to rush Workshop (seems to be gaining popularity), or back cap the node while the battle is going on (I've also seen this happen where the Alliance maintained control for the rest of the game).
资源过剩
Win Isle of Conquest while your team controls the Quarry and Oil Refinery.
This one isn't too tough. If you see the game is nearing an end, or your team is gearing up for the general or the enemy gates have fallen, etc. - take a quick glance at your map and see what your team controls. Make a dash to the one you need and begin the capturing process. I'd bet all the gold in the Dalaran Fountain that at this point in the game no enemy players are defending it. You may very well already have this achievement, it is fairly common to come across. You will soon learn to hate this one's older brother though. This achievement must be completed in one game.
炸弹狂人
In a single Isle of Conquest battle, use 5 Huge Seaforium Bombs on the enemy gates.
Much like A-bomb-inable, this achievement requires you to run bombs to the enemy gate. This time, the Huge Seaforium Bombs (again not to be confused with the ones at Workshop) are found inside the enemy keep. They are specifically located where the enemy keep entrance is. The best way to accomplish this is find a Catapult or gunship from Hangar and fling yourself in to begin the bombing process. You may die as many times as needed before the five go off. This achievement must be completed in one game.
投刃绞肉车
In Isle of Conquest, kill 10 players with a Glaive Thrower without dying.
This achievement requires you to pilot a Glaive Thrower from the Docks and kill 10 players. Wait, but I thought Glaives were really squishy? Solar, I'm going to paint a huge target on my head if I pilot this thing around the Isle head-hunting! Well don't be afraid my comrades, this achievement only requires you to get 10
HK's
in order to go off. My advice is to place your glaive close enough to the enemy keep to feed off the HK's that are going down near the gates where enemy players are assaulting the Demolishers. If you're also interested in winning, might I suggest firing off a few shots at the enemy keep while you wait? This achievement must be completed in one game.
炮平四海
In Isle of Conquest, destroy 10 vehicles and 100 players with turrets.
This one will span over the length of a few games. Varok Saurfang did it in one go, but he was just testing the battleground. You'll need to find a cannon for this one! Inside your keep you will see a stairwell on your left and right side. Members of the Horde will be best suited to use the cannons on their immediate right upon entering the battlefield. Members of the Alliance... well the Horde is often really indecisive about which gate they choose to send their vehicles to. You can work either way, or play it by ear and switch cannons according to incoming siege vehicles. The reason I have denoted these two locations is that the bulk of the enemy vehicles will be coming within shooting range of these select cannons. The achievement is easier than it reads. You need to be
inside
a cannon while you recieve 100 HK's, but, in order to get credit for a vehicle kill you must get the
killing blow
. Oftimes the enemy will park a stray catapult after it's been used in your line of sight, these make for easy prey to take down as they are no longer moving. This achievement can be completed over multiple games.
毁车不倦
Destroy the following vehicles in Isle of Conquest: Glaive Thrower, Catapult, Demolisher, Siege Engine.
This one took me a bit longer than the rest. Primarily because the Horde goes Workshop all the time and Siege Engines don't spawn until 3:30 after the cap. Either the Alliance never took it or the game was over before the Siege deployed. You must land the killing blow on all of these vehicles, so be prepared to DoT up and burn. Siege Engines have over two million health so I don't recommend taking them on alone. This achievement can be completed over multiple games.
Hordies, a Siege Engine will be the biggest thorn in your side. My best advice is to pop all your cooldowns and damage over time abilities and hope for the best.
Heroes of the Alliance, Glaive Throwers will be your hardest vehicle to kill. If the Horde ever does take Docks be prepared to move and find a Glaive Thrower. If anything count your blessings that these things only have 232k health and can easily be taken on alone.
剪蓝线……别剪红线!
In Isle of Conquest, disarm 25 bombs.
Thank goodness it isn't all in the same game. This one will take you awhile. As the achievement states, you must disarm 25 bombs, easy right? Wrong! The bombs you will be disarming will be from enemy players at your keep, running the Huge Seaforium Bombs to your gates. You'd think just walking up there and right clicking it would do the trick, but the disarm has a cast time that is broken by any player attack, and there are many enemy players afoot. Here are a few helpful tips/musings I've detailed out for tricky players or those who play a certain class:
The best way that I found to do this was die by jumping off a tower near the most popular gate (either gate for Alliance, right side for Horde), and spirit run to your corpse. When the enemy has planted the bomb and ran away to grab their next explosive, release to where the bomb was planted and make for a hasty disarm - they won't expect it as you just popped out of nowhere. Repeat as needed.
I reccomend using this.
On a good game I could pull off four to five disarms.
Night Elves can Shadowmeld by the gate.
Paladins can bubble through incoming damage without their disarm being interrupted.
Rogues have it easy and can just Stealth/Vanish as needed. If you're dealing with one player at the gate, Sap/Blind (if they trinketed) and just disarm their bomb. Easy as pie.
Invisibility.
Stealthing as kitty and following it up with a Cyclone.
A fear could really come in handy. I could easily see a Howl of Terror being able to peel about five guys off the gate for easy disarms.
Psychic Scream.
Camouflage to stealth near the gate. Scatter Shot + Freezing Trap as a means of CC to disarm.
I... uh... Shamans!
Hex'em, 'mon!
Protection Warriors can Concussion Blow the target, allowing for enough time to squeeze in a disarm.
征服之岛精英
Complete 100 victories in Isle of Conquest.
Simply put, you just need 100 victories in the Isle. Nothing a good hard grinding can't fix. When I went to finish this I was at 50. Casually queuing up from 50 to 100 took about a week. It isn't too daunting. Thankfully though when you reach your 100 wins you should have just about all of the other achievements completed. Except, maybe, for the mother of them all...
一个也不能少
Win Isle of Conquest while controlling the Quarry, Oil Refinery, Shipyard, Siege Workshop and Hangar.
You've made it this far, why turn back now? You're facing the mother of all Isle achievements, the bane of a better part of my month of May, you're facing... Mine.
Here's a detailed strategy I've written about the achievement, I hope it serves you well.
Some known facts about this achievement:
• You can have a node 'tapped', or about to be owned and the achievement
will
go off.
• This achievement is buggy as hell - random players will often be rewarded this without criteria met (witnessed, we didn't have Hangar or Refinery and some Priest from Illidan-US got it).
• Sometimes the criteria will be met and half of the team won't get it.
Strategy:
• Dependent on where the enemy team goes, send most of your forces to meet them and push them back to take the node, send off smaller groups to take the other two 'main' bases. Example: Alliance goes Docks, head them off there and take Docks, 3 people went to cap Workshop and 7 went to cap Hangar.
• You now control all three 'main' nodes, including your base. The Alliance will begin to spawn inside their keep.
• Fire up Glaives and Demolishers and pick a gate of your choosing - go to pound town.
• Get your ho's out because it's farming time - if you haven't realized already that we now have them in a chokepoint at their keep and we win by attrition via reinforcements.
• They cannot escape their keep - if one or two manage to get by, have a mobile team ready to head them off at the node. But ~30 of your teammates at their keep graveyard will beat them into submission.
• The biggest caveat here is that you can't have anyone capture their graveyard or their spawn location will now be outside their keep, jeopordizing your nodes.
It is very possible to earn this achievement without any coordination whatsoever. I was blessed by Odin's Beard that on my 104th win as we went to kill the enemy general we had all of their nodes under our posession. I don't know how we did it, words couldn't express my hapiness.

This is one fantastically put together guide. The layout is very clean. It's made me want to revisit Isle of Conquest; though I admit PvP makes me a little queasy at the thought. Also, proud to say we share a faction/server. Earthen Ring Horde FTW.

Great guide!
Minor thing: your "Master of Isle of Conquest" link in the table of contents is jumping to the guide subtitle, not to the content section. You'll need to put toc=false into the subtitle's tag (like \
Master...\
) in order for it to work properly.

A tip for Demolition Derby: Shooting from a cannon counts for the achievement, as long as you get the killing blow. Should make it a bit easier to take out the Siege Engines...

Very good guide. Especially the disarming part. I like the way you show what every class can do to make it easier.
