Harrison Jones is a 6.1 follower rewarded from
) at your Garrison.
He has one unique ability and trait:
In build 19480, he now comes with the new trait
, increases your gold from missions.
If you upgrade him to epic, he can get any of the potential abilities listed in the Related section at the bottom of this page. As a Survival Hunter, he has a specific pool of abilities to pick from when receiving a quality upgrade--abilities are not totally random.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##
It's good to see Harrison back. Shame he doesn't have an Archaeology related trait, something like getting fragments in mining work orders if he is assigned to your Garrison Mine.
Hopefully he doesn't have to go on missions with snakes. He hates snakes.
Seems like the Horde will work with Harrison as well, despite him being
an optional target in Ashran
I'm conflicted, I like neutral NPCs, but there is a Horde counterpart,
, and more importantly the organisation he belongs to, The Reliquary. Would like to see more of them.
looking forward to collecting this guy even though he's listed as a

changed to a subtlety rogue (Horde side) in the latest build (22 Jan 2015)
You would think to get this npc you would do some archeology? Or get some missions for archeology fragments after completing but nothing different i have noticed.
-Oh yeah? And who's gonna come to save you, junior?
-I told you *ratatatatatata* don't call me junior!
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade
Do you need archaeology to get this quest and follower? That would be horrible because I'm not growing archaeology on all my characters, I almost gave a nut to grow it on one character and I'm still farming cata rewards for Christ's sake!
At least I hope I can pick up followers with this trait at my inn.

(Horde) requires doing all six quest chains which are offered by Harrison Jones in your garrison's Town Hall. He will be in your Town Hall only some days, but he will be available in about 10% of garrisons on any given day, so you can pick up the quest by visiting another person's garrison if he's not in yours. Harrison offers one of the six quest chains chosen at random each day (i.e. it will be the same quest in everyone's garrison for that day). If he is not in your garrison, you could try searching
's Premade Groups, Custom section for the word "Harrison", to find people who let you join their group just to visit their garrison, pick up the quest, and leave the group. (Thankyou, to those who do that!)
Two traits are guaranteed on a new
follower, the permanent
, and the replaceable
is a trait that is both unique to Harrison, and permanent, meaning it is immune to replacement with items like
. Mentor makes it so other followers on a mission temporarily adopt Harrison's level (100) and item level (600-675, however high you upgraded him) for the duration of the mission.
a permanent trait, meaning
be replaced with retraining items
. However, it can be a lucrative trait, which you'd probably want to keep. It stacks with other followers who have the trait; if two followers on a mission have it, they can get three times the base gold reward, and if three followers on a mission have it, they can get four times the base gold reward.
is great for quickly raising a level 90 follower to level 100, since the lower level follower will temporarily be treated as a level 100 follower, and reap the full rewards of level 100 experience gains. A level 90 follower needs 27,900 experience points to reach level 100, which can be accomplished with Harrison's party in two or three successful level 100 experience missions, which grant 1,500 base xp, plus 8,000 to 15,000 xp for success.
If you're thinking of adding
to Harrison with a
, which would make him even better at leveling followers under level 100, I don't think it's worth risking losing
. Even without a training bonus, he can level new followers extremely quickly. However, if you're going to do it, wait until Harrison is epic quality, and has three traits. That way, there would be a 50% chance of keeping
, instead of a 0% chance when he's rare and has two traits (since
can't be replaced).
Permanent traits like
occur only on specific followers. There are six such traits; the other five are:
防御者艾萝娜 / 艾达·晨光
德尔瓦·铁拳 / 薇薇安
Occasionally says "For the Alliance" after exiting the quest he offers
In a Horde garrison!
So how will he end up in my garrison ? Is he a random spawning questgiver like the daily dungeonquestgivers in the Inn or do I need to unlock him with quests / achievements / archaeologyskill or something ?
There's lots of info on the guy and his traits and abilities , but hardly any info that explains how to get him in my garrison in the first place to get those quests going
From what I can read, he appears from time to time as a daily quest giver. There are ...many achievements to do as well as his dailies and then he becomes a follower.
It's mind numbing.
I debated on multiple toons doing the dailies, but that would not work since followers are not shared.
Looks like today is the first day of being able to unlock him due to the randomness of his quests.
Unsure if he is bugged or not, but after unlocking him in my garrison and deactivating a random follower, my garrison missions refuse to refresh and I cannot work on more then 6 missions at a time.
It seems as if adding him removes all the extra building buffs that you acquired for extra missions around Draenor. Here is hoping I am wrong, but just to give a heads up if anyone else is looking to see if they are also having this issue. You are not alone.
Anyone rerolled him yet? Wondering if his Treasure Hunter is rerollable. I assume Mentor is not.

So, if you are like me and like to recruit followers from the inn weekly(even though I don't "need" any),
becomes an extremely useful trait to level your new followers quickly.

TACTICAL LAZY: Harrison Jones
To obtain, complete Master Relic Hunter Achievement, which insta-awards "don't call me junior" and Jones.
Daily quests to complete master relic hunter are handed out by Jones in the garrison and each take approx 30 min to complete. If he does not appear in your garrison, simply ask in general chat for someone who does, visit their garrison, and take the quest from him. You don't need to talk to Jones again for that day for any of the quests, so you can leave right after picking it up. Total of 6 quests. He can hand out repeat quests, so don't double up.
Vat is da mentor and vat does he doooooooo?
Static trait (Cannot be wiped with rerolls, though treasure hunter can be so I wouldn't be rerolling jones any time soon) that applies full combat effectiveness from jones to everyone else. Meaning, a level 90 follower will count as a level 100 follower with ilvl 660 gear if that follower is in a group with jones and jones has ilvl 660 gear.
This makes him the best follower for raising newbies as gaining full credit for level 100 big exp missions on tiny level 90's will save lots of time and effort and is basically the other +exp traits on crack, bloodthistle, charlie sheen, tiger blood, voodoojuju, and my little pony combined.
Do you have to be 100 to get the daily quests for him?
While Harrison does in fact come with Kick, it is not locked, and can be rerolled off should you so desire.
Just got him today and he rolled epic :)
Took him right away on a patrol to test him on dummies.
He has the most bizzare fighting style.
Check it Yourself!
Just took this guy on patrol with me and had him attack a target dummy to find he summons GIANT BOULDERS while attacking. I love the reference.
The hype is real. Jones is a follower I need to get on EVERY alt. Mentor is really just that valuable. Save up ilevel items for him and suddenly you don't actually need to boost the ilevel of anyone who's in a group with him unless you WANT to.
I think Harrison is good for leveling the weekly follower from the Inn. Add in a 100 epic follower and you can get 100% of probably half the lvl 100 XP missions. I was thinking of recruiting some Treasure Hunters from the Inn and Harrison will make lvling them easy.
Wonder what happens if we call him junior?
I have decided to do inside test of all my Garrison Followers how much
they can pull against Training Dummies.
I did this to find out which Follower is the best to take on a patrol during Garrison Invasion content.
Each test took 1 minute.
I'm not testing bodyguards here.
After few hours of "training" it turnd out that the winner is…
He does some sick dps (also aoe) and even sicker healing. That makes him King of Garrison Invasion companion.
does more dps, she doesnt heal and she tends to die during invasion.
Honorable mentions are:
- for best dps.
- for most bizzare style.
- good single target dps.
- good single target dps.
- good aoe.

To get Harrison in your garisson you need to do the quests on that specific toon. Although the achievement is account-wide, you won't get him if you did the quests with another char.
In case you are wondering
it usually takes to do the 6 relic quests and obtain
(HJ) for the highly desired
abilities mentioned by others... Remember that even if HJ does not appear at your garrison, he will be somewhere on your server and easy to find via the group finder. You can quickly check to see which relic quest is available in your region on the
"Today in Draenor"
sidebar on the main page here at
be a HJ quest every day, but it is random so there will be repeats that don't help you complete
. Thus expect it to take more than 6 days.
How many days on the average?
Using the probability of waiting times (exponential distribution) and that the expected number of days needed for a new quest to appear is the reciprocal of the chance of success, the calculations follow:
6/6 + 6/5 + 6/4 + 6/3 + 6/2 + 6/1 = 14.7
So you are looking at an average of about 2 weeks to obtain Harrison Jones, give or take a few days.
Could be as low as 6 days (1.5% chance), but it could also take 3 weeks or more thanks to randomness - assuming Blizzard doesn't put the quests on a rotation like the profession traders.
Something to keep in mind... If you group up some of your alts and do each relic quest on each alt when the quest becomes available, you can get HJ on the whole group in the same amount of time. Or what I sometimes do run half of my alts the first time I see a quest, and the second half of my alts the second time I see it. It's an efficient approach that doesn't seem too punishing.
Quests are worth 150g if you don't mind the repeats, and you can still do them after you obtain HJ.
from the Explorer's League will stand in once HJ is your follower.
If you're having trouble finding
in your garrison: he spends a lot of time wandering around the back room of the town hall, where all your pristine artifacts are stored. He'll sometimes stand near a table or artifact--or, more likely, IN it due to buggy pathfinding--and open a scroll or start doing the use animation.
You can set additional goals whilst you go out doing a specific daily chain for Jones. I posted it here because this is the shared end-result of doing all the quests, all the others are Alliance or Horde speciific. The overview below shows which quest corresponds to which item for the jukebox, Vargoth, the campaign quest and missive(s). In addition you can queue up for heroics for the legendary chain whilst doing the Jones daily.
*: on your way to Frostfire (A) or SMV (H) you can stop at the Talador outpost to get these items.
**: this is the closest you'll get to Pinchwhistle Point with a Jones chain.
If you dont see him in your garrison, you can go to premade group finder to find him in other people's garrison. After you get the quest from him, you dont have to stay in their realm if they have too many people there, you can just leave the group and get back to your own realm and you can still complete the daily quest.
A Subtlety Rogue... with a shotgun? Really...?
Since when was a shotgun EVER subtle...?
The Liberation of Shattrath
: This story tells how a fresh level follower went from 90 to to the very end of level 98 in only 10 hours. Harrison with an experienced helper did most of the job.
When you're assigning followers to missions, it will show the dimished amount in the tooltip, but your followers will get the full amount (e.g. 10,000 xp will give your followers 10,000 xp regardless of lvl with this
For those wondering why Harrison has a shotgun as a subtley rogue, note he doesn't wield it in combat, it is probably just kept around for either intimidation, or for quick hunting.
His attack animation has to be changed! Stabs with shotgun?
For those who don't know, this guy can powerlevel your followers. Normally, when you try to send a low level follower on a high level mission they get a penalty. (ex. a level 90 on a level 100 10k xp mission might only get 1k xp)
Since his mentor perk brings any follower on the same mission as him up to his effectiveness, you no longer get that penalty. I've leveled followers from 90-98 in one mission!
I also made a
about it if you want to see exactly whats going on.
Here he is fighting against target dummy:
He has the most bizarre style! :)
So anyone else wonder why a subtlety rogue uses a gun? seems it would be more believable if he was a hunter to begin with anyway.
How To Harrison Jones:
Step 0: Make him Epic quality.
Step 1: Reroll his traits until you get Epic Mount. You will not lose Mentor but you will lose Treasure Hunter.
Step 2: Replace the other trait you got off the reroll with Hearthstone Pro.
Now let me explain myself here on getting rid of a Treasure Hunter. First of all, this guy's real utility is powerleveling, no question. Your treasure hunters should have racial love bonuses for races you use most for Treasure Hunting. What I did was reroll all my beastly followers until they had Treasure Hunter, and put
on all of them. You can do the same with the Arakkoa with
, which is also a repeatable (albeit rare) mission.
This is especially true if you're Horde: Harrison Jones' humanity will kill him when you're designing your Treasure Hunting strike team. None of your followers will like him and he'll ruin missions. Use him for what he's really meant for: Powerleveling. Max his ability to powerlevel your other followers. Sacrifice Treasure Hunter. You can get other treasure hunters. But Mentor is unique, so max it at the expense of all else.
if you want to maximize your garrison and after you have established your followers to max level / epic / gold, you better replace him since his
is no more useful and can't be changed, so you will be losing a trait slot.
If you didn't know to get this follower you have to complete this achievement:
The relic quests are offered by Harrison Jones as part of the Garrison (Town-hall) Daily Quests:
He shares a spawn timer with many other NPCs at random that offer different town-hall daily quests. He will offer you one of the quests. Please note that these quests (1 of 6) is also offered at random (RNG - random number generation). So you have a random NPC that offers you a random quest that could be repeated. So you get all happy that this guy spawns in your garrison only to get the same quest you completed a week ago. Way to go Blizzard at driving us nuts. A recommended option is to check other players to see if they have Harrison at their garrison. Ask to team up and you can get the quests from their garrison.
You may end up getting the same quest again. Just be patient. This is like the relic quests in Cataclysm, you find a jar that was a pain to find in the first place, then you open the jar and it doesn't have what you need, etc.
It is very beneficial to get Harrison Jones, since he can power level your followers.
With Lunarfall Inn lvl 2 you can easily get a follower with the treasure hunter trait, which is why you want Harrison Jones I presume. So you don't need to wait for him to spawn 6 times and do all the quests.
It would be extremely awesome if you have Harrison Jones in your garrison that when you AFK or want to quit that you set a Custom LFG and select "Auto-Invite". This will allow others to at least have a shot of getting the quest they need sooner rather than later. Help others and maybe they will help you too!
In case anyone's wondering (as I was) you do
need to have a level 3 garrison to get this follower. You can go and pick up the quests from other people's garrisons, complete them, and hand them into Bodrick Grey in your garrison even if it's only level 2. I suspect the same would hold true for a level 1 garrison, but I don't have one to test it.
I've noted that when realm-hopping, Harrison Jones (or any of the quest-givers inside the Town Hall) does not show up. I checked both party and raid groups- not in his place in the Town Hall.
Anyone else noticed this?
RIP Harrison Jones
He is located in your town hall but he is not there every day.
