Spires of Arakk 46.5, 46.8. Awared after finishing
he can be assigned to your level 2 or 3 Barracks and follow you around Draenor. He rides a Raven.
Bodyguard: normal shadow priest's ability
's first appearance in Wow was in Terokkar Forest of Outland, an evil member of the Sethekk Arakkoa in Skettis and objective of the old quest,
One of many followers capable of being your bodyguard on Draenor, once your barrack is level 2 or above. They do not go into instances/raids with you, making their perks obsolete in some enviroments.
Bodyguards also have their own reputation which currently gives 10 for every kill in your level range.
This reputation goes to 10.000, twice. Each time giving you a higher affection level, starting at 1. Level 2(Wingman) gives a combat ability for your follower, Level 3(Personal Wingman) gives you a perk, after completing a personal quest for the follower.
Ishaal joins you once you have completed all major questlines in the spires of Arak.
Level 1: Mind Flay, Summon Shadowfiend
Dot with Haste reduction.
After slaying a shadowmoon orc and taking her staff:
Ishaal is now your personal mobile mailbox.
The bodyguards availiable for the Horde, and their perks are:
Summon anywhere on Draenor.
The neutral bodyguards availiable to both factions are:
Mailbox anywhere on Draenor.
Repairs anywhere on Draenor
Mission table anywhere on Draenor.
When you have completed the achievement, go to Veil Terokk and hand in
to get the follower.
At this writing there are 48 followers and only 3 of them have magic debuff counters.
The other followers are:
This is Horde side. Alliance side may have different options.
Stats at level 100:
Roughly 2k DPS that spikes up to around 4k when he casts
Rather low base armour making his overall survivability rather lacklustre.
Overall, his damage output almost certainly revolves around his
which seems to be on a 45s CD, he is also exceptionally squishy so you will have pay extra special attention to him.
As of 19.11.14 there is a bug with Talonpriest Ishaal which lets you use the level 3 perk (mail service), as long as he is fighting.I haven't tested it on any of the other Bodyguards, but have fun sending some mail out in the wild! :)
EDIT: My bad, you cant actually send anything. You still get the screen though, which is probably not intended.
Very good companion for melee DPS. He just stays in the back and casts, he does not taunt your mobs away from you so you don't have to run after them all the time.
Here's a video on how to get him:
May be how to actually get him is clear to everyone. But I was going nuts trying to figure why I don't have him after completing the Achievement. Once you get the achievement, you have to go to 46,46 and actually talk to/take the quest from him to get the follower.
Take the Veil Terokk FP and look south to see the yellow exclamation mark.
Tired of getting the chat box when you accidentally click the bodyguard ?
I made an addon called
which disables that very chat box.
Press CTRL to get the chat box anyway, in case you need to send them home/interact with them.
Once Ishaal is Epic gains Deadly Minions as a counter
You have to complete
achievement to get Ishaal

NEED TO BE 100
to be able get these quests.
There is a little something you can see with Talonpriest Ishaal if you built a Lunarfall inn. If he sits down to eat like all other followers do, you notice he eats like a complete slob compared to the other followers. He vigorously eats with the food in his hands.
If you have him with you in a group (say for hunting elites or for a world boss), can the other people in your party use the mailbox, too?
Took me a bit to find the quest item (
), which is required to complete the quest
. This quest is obtained on getting to Personal Wingman status with
, a Bodyguard Follower that can be assigned to your Barracks.
Completing this quest grants the ability
, to access your mailbox in the field!
Below are instructions on locating the quest NPC. Note that there are a lot of mobs in the way, and when you finally reach
, you may have an entourage of mobs that need to be killed, unless you have some threat clearing ability.
Fly to Akeeta's Hovel in Spires of Arakk.
Take the path southeast towards the Pillars of Fate. You will see a series of 4 large purple crystals (called
) defended by
these until you reach a dirt path that splits into 5. Take the leftward path that goes up the ridge - it will essentially curve around till you are headed back towards Akeeta's Hovel, but up the mountain (you should be climbing higher).
You will reach another two-way fork immediately - take the dirt path to the right, rather than the cobblestone ahead. If you get to a cave you went the wrong way - backtrack and take the dirt path up the mountain instead.
The dirt path will once again wind back and forth till you are higher up the mountain - once you reach the top you should see a Void Portal on the right surrounded by mobs, and on the left a group of mobs channeling into a
. Keep going straight ahead, you will see
Damn it Ishaal, get off my mailbox!
I have decided to do inside test of all my Garrison Followers how much
they can pull against Training Dummies.
I did this to find out which Follower is the best to take on a patrol during Garrison Invasion content.
Each test took 1 minute.
I'm not testing bodyguards here.
After few hours of "training" it turnd out that the winner is…
He does some sick dps (also aoe) and even sicker healing. That makes him King of Garrison Invasion companion.
does more dps, she doesnt heal and she tends to die during invasion.
Honorable mentions are:
- for best dps.
- for most bizzare style.
- good single target dps.
- good single target dps.
- good aoe.
Below You can see test results for all my active Followers.

He is a tremendous asset for bidding wars at the Black Market at buddy lvl 3 (go go mailbox power)
So interestingly enough i started to bring him with me to level him i noticed that i clicked on him by accident and he is not a level 3 yet but if he is in combat you can bring up his mailbox .. weird anyone else have this issue?
Here he is fighting against target dummy:
Which stuff does he get as he levels as a bodyguard?
Easiest way I have found to level your Bodyguard's faction with you:
1) Assign them to your Barracks.
2) Go talk to them and take them with you.
3) Fly down to Talon Watch, Spires of Arak.
4) Take a quick trip over to Sunderthorn's nest:
5) Just stick there any AOE down the ever re-spawning easy to kill wasps and watch your bodyguard faction gain more rapidly than pretty much anywhere else.
6) Rinse, repeat, cap out the faction and be done with it.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to track unlocking him on a 2nd or 3rd character? I have the achievement, and I think I did all the zone quests, but I still cant get him.
TO get this follower (or ANY bodyguard) rep to wingman in 20 minutes per bodyguard do the following.
1. While in Gorgrond pick up the quest you get from Cutter in Moria's Bastion (around 47. 93.) called Iyu.
2.DO NOT COMPLETE the quest!
3. As you are walking out of the cave tons of iyun pustules will spawn they have 8090hp
4. KILL KILL KILL the little guys.
5.Once rep is bodyguard abandon the quest to pick pick back up for your next bodyguard.
Note:If you have completed all 4 chapters in Gorgrond this will not work. You must be able to pick up the quest.
Takes about 20 minutes per bodyguard.
If they stop spawning just abandon the quest and go back down and pick it back up.
Ishaal (Actually ishal) means diarrhea in Turkish... When i see his name, i giggle like a lil girl. :)
Married a night elf.
Mounts, toys, noncombat pets, and other items that let you run errands without running back to town.
