What is the BiS Demonology Warlock gear?
With many different sources of gearing and loot scarcity in Shadowlands, targeting your absolute Best in Slot gear isn't entirely realistic; instead, we've created a Best in Slot list from the ideal Demonology Warlock raid drops found in Shadowlands, from Mythic Dungeons, to help you decide what to prioritize.
While raid drops are generally the most reliable way of getting high item level gear, many other items can be just as good if not better, so you should reference the stat priorities listed on the
to help determine your own BiS gear based on what is available to you.

It should be noted that some Mythic+ gear could be better to use, depending on your personal character.
Pre-Raid Best in Slot Gear for Demonology Warlock
can also have some use if you are able to get it at a competitive item level.
Best Demonology Warlock Trinkets for Shadowlands
You should be on the lookout for the following trinkets. This list assumes all items are equal item level.
You can view the full list of trinkets and their ranking against each other here:

Because weapons can no longer gain sockets in Shadowlands, there is no inherent difference between using 2-handers or the main-hand/off-hand combo for Demonology Warlocks. Typically you'll want to equip the highest item level combination. If you're having trouble determining which is best, go with the combination that gives you the most intellect.
Castle Nathria Weapon Tokens
Castle Nathria doesn't have any direct weapon drops, but instead, players will loot
tokens that can be traded for weapons
their Covenant Sanctums
2-hand or Main Hand
Hunter, Mage, Druid
Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Druid
Stone Legion Generals
2-hand or Main Hand
Hunter, Mage, Druid
Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Druid
You'll ultimately prefer the higher item level weapon tokens for your best-in-slot gear, but don't turn down a weapon upgrade when it's available as upgrading your weapon is one of the most significant upgrades you can make. The exact weapon that you'll select will vary only in name and model but all stats are identical across all covenants. The staff option offers an ever so slight amount more intellect and secondary stats and will therefore be preferred, but the main-hand off hand combination does gives us a slightly better secondary stat profile. Both are completely viable. For brevity, I'll only list the weapons you'll choose at the higher item level and for the NIght Fae covenant.

Best Items to Upgrade with Valor Points in Shadowlands
Points is a returning currency brought back with Patch 9.0.5. With this new currency, players are able to upgrade items from Mythic+ Dungeon, either from running Mythic Keystones or from the Great Vault, up to item level 220. Similarly to
, Valor has a cap that is increased every week during the Season.
You can obtain Valor by completing Mythic+ dungeons or completing daily callings. You can learn more about Valor in our in-depth guide.
Earning and Spending Valor Points
One of the stronger trinkets, especially since you are able to line it up with every other Demonic Tyrant and have a super high crit rate during your cooldown is especially powerful given how strong it is.
If you are looking to run a passive trinket this is the prime example of a go to option; you can force the proc into one of your best stats with a relatively high uptime.
While less universally useful than Ruby, this trinket is still a very powerful on use. It is especially valuable in dungeons where you can consistently avoid its alternative effects, such as giving healers mana or healing yourself.
This is Demonology’s most well itemized weapon from dungeons.
This is Demonology’s most well optimized one handed weapon from dungeons, the lack of haste one hands without versatility means this is a slightly worse choice overall than the Nathrian Ferula. Only upgrade this if you already have a substantially higher item level off hand you wish to pair with it.

Items to Prioritize in the Great Vault for Demonology Warlocks in Shadowlands
Generally you'll want to prioritize your lowest item level slots. If you're in deep progression and an item you need drops off a later boss, it's worth prioritizing that item, especially trinkets, as you may not get back to that boss during the week or you may be extending your lockout and won't see that item again until after progression, unless you do a reclear. That aside, you should always sim using
to see what will be your best upgrade choice. The most obvious item to be looking out for in the Vault is the
, as they are some of Demonology’s strongest trinkets, and your first priority for upgrades if you do not already have it at a higher item level than 220.

Best PvP Gear for Demonology Warlocks in PvE
One of the most popular ways of gearing in Shadowlands is PvP. Unlike raiding and Mythic+, PvP provides players with a deterministic way of obtaining gear, making it more streamlined and less random than the other two high-end gearing options.
There are two main currencies for PvP gearing:
is used exclusively to purchase the base items at ilvl 200, while
is used to upgrade those base items to higher item levels based on your highest current rating in Rated PvP.
has a cap on how much you can obtain, similar to
, which increased every week during the Season, while
has no cap.
Learn more about PvP gearing in our in-depth guide, including ilvl brackets and item upgrade costs.
Conquest and PvP Gearing
Due to Demonology’s high interest for Haste and Crit PvP gear typically is not very desired. However there are some pieces that can be usable.
Since Demonic Consumption's value is directly related to your health, having this trinket available to you for every other cooldown cycle is pretty substantial, especially if you are doing the fight on farm and looking to have some fun with stacking HP increases for big Demonic Tyrant damage.
With PvP’s unique ability to offer a max of 233 item level weapons without defeating the end boss of a tier on Mythic, those weapons are always going to be worth acquiring if you can earn the rating. Below 226 ilvl, however, there are better itemized options from the Valor System and Heroic Sire Denathrius.
As with the Staff, Demonology’s options for Main Hand and Off Hand weapons are better from Dungeons and Raids unless you have access to them at a high item level.
Best Legendary Items for Demonology Warlock
In Shadowlands, players are able to craft customizable Legendary Items. In order to craft these items, players must collect tradeskill materials and

I have found that using
is great with this spec. I am not sure if it's because it counts each of the imp's spell casts as a potential trigger, but this trinket is always in my top 5 damage done. A must have for me.
Here's an example from an Arch fight.
Hey so for the Raid Gear for Battle Dazar'alor you have the Pants from fetid Devour when i think you mean the Pants from Storm wall Blockade
Great guide! The only thing i have doubts about is that in Single target dps there is no sim for Azshara's Font of Power. If you combo it with World vein Major on pull you get roughly 7k+ Int for burst which is kind of insane. There are also a lot of moments in Nyalotha where you can recharge the 4s during boss fights which in my opinion makes it really viable post EP. Then again, I don't min-max at all so I can be very wrong.
Your guide is well written on many things, but as long as I have been playing a Warlock, they cannot use maces (in spherical anima sections -weapons). It would either be a sword (which I think it is) or a dagger.
