Click the arrows to navigate through the trash path.
-> Start the instance by picking up the double cat pack.
-> Most groups decide to pull this the bird pack around the corner since all cooldowns are active. Allies hit by Grievous Rip need to be healed above 90% immediately and the healer should keep the party topped off to avoid being one shot.
-> Tip: The cats prefer to pick ranged targets and its not uncommon to get globaled on this pack. Use defensive cooldowns preemptively.
-> For the second pack, utilize stuns and interupts to prevent the birds from getting an

cast off.
The Festerhide Grizzly sits in the middle of the patrol path of two Dreadsoul Ruiners. On high keys you will want to pull them separately so check the coast is clear before you pull.
-> Tip:

Pick up the Patrol making sure to kick or dodge

and then knock over the Hippogryph pack. Pulling the entire set as a group of 5 is a reasonable decision if you're feeling the heat of the timer but melee in particular will need to be aware of the Razorbeak's

Make your way up the rocks, following the arrow above. Once on the branch, jump directly down. You'll be surrounded by trash packs, that you don't want so proceed with care.
Here we are going to pull just the double cat + night elf pack. There are packs to either side of us and a Bear behind us so utmost care must be taken to not pull extra. Stun the cats for as much of the pull as possible.
The first pack here shouldn't cause too many issues so long as
星辰之雨
is being avoided, and Nightmare Toxin is being dispelled.
-> Tip: If dispelled, Nightmare Toxin doesn't explode.
The double bear pack however can be one of the most challenging in the instance.
-> Ranged need to stand more than 30 yards from the pair and it's often a good decision to burst one down quickly to avoid Maddening Roar stacking too quickly.
-> Melee will need to pop defensive cooldowns or run out to avoid being one shot.
-> Tip: If you have a rogue, you are able to

around the right side of the stairs.
With the first boss down, proceed to the Dryad / Double Blossom pack. Keep an eye out for any AoE's on the ground but otherwise this is an easy pack.
Skipping the pack on the left is highly recommended. Watch that the Dryad doesn't bounce into you while you're sneaking down the right.
-> Tip: Use non-combat CC's (

it in a good spot to easily pass by.
Pull the Patrols so we can skip a harder pack later. Be careful not to pull any other nearby packs.
Focus down the two keepers first to stop any Blossom healing and to stop the Mushroom casts. This can get a little uncomfortable space-wise so you might want to pop some DPS cooldowns to burn it down as quickly as possible.
The dryad + 2 blossoms pack patrols up and down the pathway and should be taken at any point that it doesn't overlap with a Nightmare Dweller.
You can take the Nightmare Dweller in sets of 2 and 3, or in one big group. You need to stun / interrupt the
折磨之眼
casts so make sure you have at least one AoE CC.
The Slimes won't cause any issue, though make sure you're not standing on top of them when they die.
The Bloodtainted Fury has two abilities you need to be wary of:

and
鲜血突袭
which'll see the mob charge forward after a few second cast time. Both will knock you back if hit, so they are high priority dodges unless you want to get punted into whelps.
-> Tip: The hitbox for the eggs that line the sides of the corridor are much larger than the models.
Here your objective is to clear both Slime packs while avoiding the Bloodtainted Fury which patrols back and forward across the entrance to Dresaron's pit. You can pull both packs together, and also pull them through to Dresaron's room if the Fury is in a favorable spot.
Tip: Use
纠缠根须
to lock the Fury in the cubby to the left
These packs can be particularly nasty on Fortified keys. Interrupt any
暗影箭
casts as they do a large amount of damage to the tank, and either dispel or spread out for the
隔绝诅咒
. Use Stuns and AoE silences to reduce the damage of these packs.
For the second pack, the summoner is joined by a Taintheart Stalker who'll cast
暗影猎杀
. This has no cast timer and can easily finish off a low health target, who has been hit by another ability.
Lastly, clear the pack of four diseased bats. If your healer can cleanse diseases then they should do so since it's a leech mechanic that'll slow their demise.
You should have 100% trash at this point and I'd recommend popping an Invisibility Potion to get through this last pack.
Tip: If you have a Rogue, you can Sap the Bat in the back left and distract the Satyr in the front left and the Shroud of Concealment past your entire party.

Affixes
Let's take a look at notable affix interactions in Darkhearth Thicket.
Bolstering doesn't change the fact that you need to kill the Keepers before the Blossoms so those packs just become frustratingly slow. You can get around this by using the trash skip in the Trash path to reduce the number of Keepers you need to kill
You can also skip the Keepers altogether by using an Invisibility Potion to run through both packs. This will short you on the Enemy Forces count so you'll need to make up the trash.
Grievous isn't too dangerous here if you're handling each mechanic correctly. In particular:
Archdruid Glaidalis: Grievous Tear already applies a very similar DoT to the target and the combination of the two is frequently lethal. Play around it by keeping your tankiest ranged DPS or healer the furthest from the boss to focus all Grievous Tears on them. This makes it much easier to heal and coordinate defensive cooldowns for. Make sure they're at full HP before the attack hits.
Dresaron: Down draft deals heavy AoE damage and you'll be unable to prevent a few stacks building up. There's no real secret to dealing with this, you just have to put out a lot of healing.
You should have plenty of opportunities to drop Necrotic in Darkheart Thicket. Glaidalis gives you an opportunity after his charge, Oakheart after Crushing Grip, Dresaron during Down Draft and Xavius during his Feed on the Weak channel.
Oakheart's Strangling Roots and the adds spawned from Strangling Roots can all spawn Explosive. It's important to clear them out.

You should know
Grievous Tear will always target whoever is furthest from the boss. Designate your tankiest ranged DPS or healer to stand near max range and take all of them. This is much easier to heal and makes the fight much more predictable.
On Tyrannical keys it's a smart idea to keep the Nightmare Corruption adds under control by CC'ing and killing them as priority. You just want to make sure you don't run out of space.
Everyone, including the tank, can dodge the
原始狂暴
however the tank shouldn't move until the ability is cast.
Tip: Tank him facing the small house on the left. When
原始狂暴
is cast, he will hit the small stairs and stop. Alternatively, tank him facing a stone pillar and then make sure he charges into the pillar to stop it early.

You should know
The tank is going to get absolutely melted during
粉碎之握
and you'll want to coordinate your defensive cooldowns so that you have one up for each grip
Tip:
粉碎之握
is magic damage and this damage
DOES NOT
count towards "damage taken in the last X second" abilities.
At the end of Crushing Grip the tank will get dumped on a random allies position at the start of the cast. It's important this person moves out to avoid damage. It'll also prevent a volcano from popping up on volcanic week and ruining your tanks day.
Shattered Earth can be out-ranged (50 yards) but it's seldom worth the lost DPS time unless your healer is struggling.
Stack up before the
纠缠之根
cast and then run through them to eliminate any little flowers spawning. You'll take a bit of damage doing this so an immunity or Root break ability is recommended.
Tip:

will prevent any damage from the
纠缠之根
as you run through it.

are unable to be hit with AoE abilities until they have been triggered by someone running through them.

You should know
Tank the boss toward one side of the room, so that you have more room if you need to move the boss from falling rocks.
The
下冲气流
pushback is stronger the further you are from the boss. You need to be stacked directly underneath him when the cast starts and you cannot stop to cast until the very end. As soon as the draft ends you need to spread immediately for the incoming
大地咆哮
.
If you move immediately after the roar you can take no damage from Falling Rocks.

is usually first, but sometimes Dresaron likes to change things up and use

first.
A recent hotfix eliminated tanking the boss up near the wall and it's usually easiest to just kill him in the middle of the room now.
Tip: Depending on what classes you're using, pulling one or two extra whelps can help classes do more single target DPS (e.g. Sub Rogue).

You should know
Apocalyptic Nightmare is cast when Shade hits 50% health and deals a massive amount of damage damage. On high keys you need to make sure you have some kind of damage reduction or immunities for this. The healer needs to pump out a healing cooldown as it hits since he often follows it up with another dangerous cast.
Tip: Pull Xavius into the back left corner, as there's only one possible
天启之火
spawn that can land on him.

is a massive amount of damage over the channel, make sure to pop a defensive cooldown and healers will need to spawn heal the player to keep them alive.
Tip: Hunters can Feign Death the
弱肉强食
cast, stopping it entirely.
Affix Details
For more information on any particular affix, click on the corresponding tab below.
Enemies who die will buff other nearby enemies with
激励
, causing them to gain 20% health and deal 20% additional damage. This can stack multiple times, resulting in an extremely dangerous enemy that will take a long time to defeat. The range on the buffing ability is 30 yards in 7.2. In addition, mobs affected by the
激励
buff will become immune to many types of CC (though they are still vulnerable to stuns).
This affix causes the end of a trash fight to be more dangerous than the start. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once, so that the maximum stack size of
激励
stays low
Attempt to DPS the enemies down evenly
However, if there is a priority target, such as the Wrathguard Bladelord in Black Rook Hold, it may still be beneficial to focus fire and kill these targets first
The healer will need to use cooldowns on the tank if possible when an enemy has high stacks of
激励
The
激励
affix does not apply to adds in a boss encounter. For example, killing the Risen Warriors in the Mythic+ Ymiron fight in Maw of Souls should not apply
激励
to Ymiron or any of the other Risen Warriors. However, if players drag trash packs into a boss fight, those trash mobs will apply
激励
to the boss when they die. This is undesirable. If players wish to save time by dragging trash into a boss fight, be sure to pull the trash more than 30 yards away from the boss before killing it.
Successful melee attacks will apply the
死疽溃烂
debuff to the struck player, reducing the potency of healing and absorption shields by 3% per stack, and dealing stacking damage. The
死疽溃烂
debuff lasts for 9 seconds in 7.2, but the duration of the debuff is refreshed each time a new stack is applied, so it will be very difficult for tanks to drop their stacks while actively in combat.
死疽溃烂
is removed upon dropping combat.
This can stack very rapidly on large trash packs, and can be a nuisance on boss fights. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once
Use AoE CCs, such as stuns, knockbacks, and slows, to allow the tank to kite effectively at high stacks of
死疽溃烂
During boss fights, a non-tank player with a taunt ability can taunt the boss away from the tank to allow
死疽溃烂
to fall off
At very high Keystone levels, groups may wish to bring two tanks to help manage the
死疽溃烂
debuff.
When the
震荡
affix is active, at random times throughout the dungeon (regardless of combat) all players will receive the
践踏
debuff and upon expiry inflict damage and interrupting active spell casts to themselves and nearby allies.
践踏
can apply when running between bosses and will continue to occur after the dungeon is completed. If your party's composition is melee heavy, make sure to spread out the circles whenever
践踏
is applied.
The
暴怒
affix causes enemies to
激怒
at 30% health, dealing 100% additional damage until they are defeated.
When this affix is active, AoE and cleave damage can be dangerous. Be sure to mark a priority target in each pull, and when that target
激怒
s, focus fire to bring it down quickly. Stuns and other forms of CC can be used to reduce the damage the party will take from
激怒
d mobs.
A pool of Sanguine IchorWhenever a non-boss enemy dies, a pool of
鲜血脓液
forms at its location. This spell has two effects:
鲜血脓液
heals enemies standing within it for 5% of their health each second
鲜血脓液
deals damage to players standing within it for 15% of their health each second
Tanks must pull the remaining mobs away from the location of the
鲜血脓液
pool, and melee DPS must be cautious. It does take several seconds for the
鲜血脓液
to form, so there is plenty of time to react and avoid damage.
This affix is particularly difficult when fighting large groups of trivial adds, and may require tanks to clear additional space or pull enemies back into previously cleared areas so there is room to kite. This is also a difficult mechanic in any area where the predominant floor color is red - particularly in the Oakheart-to-Dresaron stretch of Darkheart Thicket.
In 7.2, Sanguine pools have been changed to apply their first damage tick immediately. This means that it's more important to place the pools of sanguine in safe locations so that the group may traverse the dungeon without taking a large amount of damage from crossing the sanguine pools after combat has ended.
The
无常
affix causes tank threat to be less potent, meaning that DPS players are likely to pull threat off of the tank if not careful. Tanks should mark a priority target on which they will be focusing the brunt of their attacks, and DPS should try to avoid dealing too much damage to the non-priority targets.
Hunters and Rogues should help the tank by using
误导
and
嫁祸诀窍
respectively.
In a
繁盛
dungeon, the number of trash mobs that players must kill in order to meet the "Enemy Forces" requirement is increased to accommodate the additional trash.
The
繁盛
affix causes extra mobs to spawn in particular trash packs. Not every pack is affected, but many of the most dangerous trash packs are.
The
易爆
affix causes enemies that you are currently in combat with to spawn Fel Explosives within 3 yards of its current location. These Fel Explosives will begin to cast
爆炸
and if successful, will detonate dealing a significant amount of damage. Fel Explosives have a very small amount of HP but are completely immune to AoE spells such as
暴风雪
and
星辰坠落
.
Since every monster has a chance to spawn Fel Explosives, be careful about pulling too many monsters at a time. If you pull too many, you might spend all your time killing Fel Explosives and not actually hitting the monsters themselves!
These orbs are the top priority for all players!
The
重伤
affix is particularly dangerous against monsters that deal consistant AoE damage. When a player falls below 90% health, the
重伤
DoT is applied and begins to stack every couple of seconds until the player reaches full health. These stacks will cap at 5 but it's important for the healer to remove these as soon as possible to avoid falling behind. DPS should avoid taking as much damage as possible this week, since taking damage is extra punishing due to the
重伤
debuff.
崩裂
, is essentially one of the main mechanics from Mythic: Il'gynoth in the Emerald Nightmare. Whenever a monster is killed, all players will get a stack of
爆裂
which will stack. One or two stacks will not be deadly, but killing an entire pack of 8 packs simultaneously will probably end up killing the party.
During
崩裂
, it's important to stagger the deaths of the enemy forces so that the debuff doesn't stack up too high. Be careful not to use too many AoE abilities and kill the monsters too soon.
Immunity abilities such as
暗影斗篷
and
寒冰屏障
will remove all current stacks and prevent future stacks from applying.
A Volcanic Plume
Move before it erupts
Enemies in a
火山
dungeon will cause
岩浆柱
s to spawn beneath the feet of distant players. Two seconds later, the
岩浆柱
will erupt, dealing damage equal to 50% of the player's health to any player standing within 2 yards of the Plume. Both boss and trash mobs will cause Volcanic Plumes to form.
When fighting a single enemy, a
岩浆柱
will form approximately every 10 seconds.
Note that "distant" refers to the distance from the enemy mob. In most cases, melee DPS and tanks do not have to worry about this mechanic, and if ranged DPS and healers stand close to the enemies,
岩浆柱
s may not spawn. However, if there is an enemy that leaps away, or an add that spawns far from its summoner,
岩浆柱
s may begin to appear in melee range. This can occur during the following notable fights:
During the Inquisitor Tormentorum encounter in the Vault of the Wardens, due to the Tormenting Orbs
Fighting Valarjar Marksman in the Halls of Valor
Fighting Rockbound Trappers in Neltharion's Lair, or during the Naraxas encounter

s can be difficult to see during bright or busy ground effects. Players should move out of the
岩浆柱
immediately upon noticing it, and may wish to preemptively move during mechanics such as Eye of the Storm in the Hyrja encounter, where constant unavoidable damage combined with the
岩浆柱
hit could cause a fatality.

is multiplicative with the Mythic+damage and health modifiersThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a
强韧
dungeon, all of the trash mobs have 20% more health and deal 30% additional damage.
Avoid pulling excessive trash packs
Use AoE CC and stuns liberally to reduce damage
Focus on priority targets
Tanks may need to kite enemies more frequently
Multiple tanks may be preferred for certain dungeons with particularly dangerous trash pulls

's damage and health bonuses are multiplicative with the Mythic+ damage and health bonuses shown in the table above. This means that on Mythic +10, the trash will all have 140% additional health and deal 180% additional damage. Certain trash packs may be able to one-shot party members with their mechanics under this affix; for example, the
瓦拉加尔刻符者
in
英灵殿
may instantly kill players with
破碎符文
if it is allowed to cast. Interrupts and performing trash mechanics properly are very important!

is particularly dangerous in combination with
激励
,
暴怒
, or
繁盛
affixes.
残暴
greatly increases thedanger of boss fightsThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a
残暴
dungeon, all of the bosses have 40% more health and deal 15% additional damage.
This can cause many extremely dangerous abilities to one-shot the party if health levels are not high enough
Serves as an additional gear check to these dungeons
Tanks may need to kite bosses more frequently
Multiple tanks may be preferred for certain dungeons with particularly threatening boss mechanics
残暴
's damage and health bonuses are multiplicative with the Mythic+ damage and health bonuses shown in the table above. This means that on Mythic +10, bosses will have 180% additional health and deal 140% additional damage. Certain bosses that gain percent-based damage modifiers during the course of their encounter pose particular problems in
残暴
dungeons:
黑鸦堡垒
: Smashspite's

increases the damage the tank takes by 75%, and may cause

or melee attacks to be fatal

Can we get the mob%'s on all the trash packs? There are some packs that are off to the side that usually aren't pulled, but can be if extra skips are made. Like the blossoms behind the house after the first boss.

Imprison does not always keep you out of combat. I have had multiple times imprison a mob to skip a pack and the mob runs up my butt after cc wears off.
