1: Make a macro "/tar enslaved"
2: Go to your keybindings, and choose one for "interact with target"
3: After every one you kill, press your macro, then your keybinding for interact with target, this will let you loot the mob.

These elementals are a lot easier to loot when killed in water, as their carcass floats up and can be looted easily.

I do not think that the 25% drop rate for Volatile waters is completely accurate.
I am 200 mobs in, and have gotten 2 of them to drop a 2 stack, zero 1 stacks and zero 3 stacks. I am only counting the 75% or so that I could loot. They seem to periodically turn into their npc's and remove their carcass leaving the loot sparkles, but not the body to loot.
Needing 30 volatile waters per week for tailoring is making me a sad panda.

You just have to be quick. I've been able to loot my last 10 kills. As soon as you kill it (while it's doing it's "dying animation") just spam the right click.

nice little thing i discovered when farming these your can just make a macro for targeting them
/target Enslaved Waterspout
then use Interact with Target in the keybindings just bind it to a button and it will loot it for you
considering you cant click the darn things
only works when theres no other alive enslaved waterspouts in range
also can be used when you lose one underground

I did some testing too. After you kill the Enslaved Waterspouts they turn into Freed Waterspouts that attack the closest Twilight Vindicator or Corrupted Elementalists. However, looting on shore OR underwater seemed to be wasted efforts if neither of these mobs were close enough for the Freed Waterspouts to attack. They didn't seem to be interested in attacking Citadel Veterans or Dark Assassins and vanished without the ability to loot them at all. I then tried pulling them near the Elemetalists and Vindicators before finishing them off. This didn't always work either.
Next I simply started to click the mouse like gangbusters as soon as they got very low on health which seemed to do the trick! Just be sure that you watch for a Wave Crash during that last moment or they'll send you flying backwards in which case you'll probably lose the ability to loot them.
My final opinion? Blizzard has another group of bugged mobs that they need to investigate and fix. Personally, I find the drop rate low and would rather fish up the Volatile Water rather than be frustrated with the inability to loot these mobs.

;D I just found a solution for the messy looting there , After you kill a target there is the 'G' key binding that targets the last hostile you targeted and killed.
and just bind interact with target bind to alt + g or whatever key you like and WALL
A! easy looting guys ;]t

Even though these have a higher drop rate and the chance to drop up to 3,
Muddied Water Elemental are much easier.
No computers spawn on top of the corpses,
and the corpses don't float in the middle of the water.

if you are a BC player, this will bring back memories of grinding for rep.
except this is a win or lose situation...mostly lose

One tip to looting these guys, if you zoom into first person and stick your head inside the NPC that spawns, you can spot the corpse and click it. An annoying process for every kill, but hey, whatever gets me those Volatile Water.
edit: also, if you're a click ninja, try to aim for the arm on the left as it rises up during the underwater death animation for an easy loot.

I see there's a bunch of problems with trying to loot these. (Yes, I've had some issues as well). I've found what works the best for me,
without
futzing with macros or keybindings, is to either kill these mobs on the shore, or on the very top of the water.
Even when I was farming them underwater, the friendly mob despawned shortly after I pulled my next mob, and I was able to return to the first corpse and loot it with no problem. When killed on top of the water, the dead corpse actually hovers above the water line, making it easy to see, and when killed on land, the rib cage eventually rolls to the front of the mob.
Good luck farmers! (

If you are needing Volatile Waters, these are the way to go. Though the looting underwater takes a few seconds longer, it's well worth the wait, since they have a decent drop rate.
I've also noticed that each one you kill gives you a buff called "Waterspout's Favor" which increases health regeneration by 100% in Twilight Highlands for 15 minutes. If you run out of time on it, kill another one.

If you need Volatile Water this is much better than fishing. I got about 20 in 4 loops and 35 minutes and about 12 Elementium Ore. While when I was fishing I only got 1 after 30 minutes. Also if you are a miner there are a couple of Elementium nodes in the area you can mine in between. Plus I had no trouble looting these guys unlike the first couple people who posted here. So I think whatever was going on with that has been fixed.

So I decided to give these guys a try before the muddied ones despite the tales of trouble looting. I killed my first one and thought well @#$% they were right, so much for killing these guys, but after just a couple of seconds the newly spawned npc disappears and it was easily lootable, don't know if that was a ninja change or what, but good news either way.

Muddied Water Elamentals much faster, they are five yrds apart, and ya can't kill up one side then down the next without them already respwned, not to mention no problem looting them, I averaged just over one volatile a min, much faster, hehe gl

To find them faster when they are underwater i use this macro:
/target enslaved Waterspout
/script SetRaidTarget("target",1);
It marks them as a star and targets them, which is really usefull because you mostly cant see them through the water

I really like these guys!
I always try to kill 2 at once so they will gang up on nearby twilight cultist and destroy it together as one waterspout will sadly lose 1vs1 fight.
