Introduction to the Necrolords Covenant
The Necrolords are one of the four Covenants, acting as the military arm of the Shadowlands. They protect the Shadowlands against external forces that threaten all of the realms of the Shadowlands.
Those souls valued by the Necrolords are ruthless, unyielding, and unrelenting. They value power in all of its forms -- mental, emotional, and physical. The Necrolords are not evil, but their dedication and single-minded focus on power makes some interpret the Necrolords in this fashion.
Souls who are entrusted to the Necrolords will be tested in their determination and willingness to serve the Covenant utterly and without question.
Maldraxxus is one of the five playable outdoor zones in the Shadowlands expansion, and is the primary home of the Necrolords Covenant. The realm of Maldraxxus bears some resemblance to Eastern Plaguelands, full of bones, large fungal growths, slime pools, and other environments only the brave and hardy would dare breach. It is also the second of the four Covenant realms (Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth) that new players will quest through to gain the privilege of choosing a Covenant at level 60.

Which Class is the Necrolord Covenant Best For?
Choosing a Covenant is the most important decision your character will make in Shadowlands, as the Covenant abilities and Soulbinds will significantly impact your spec's gameplay and performance. Through this choice, your rotation changes, certain bonuses appear in dungeons for your entire group, and you are able to follow the story along different paths.
Our Shadowlands Covenant guides help you choose the right Covenant for your playstyle, based on how much they impact your performance. We have guide pages for recommending the best Covenants, best Soulbind paths, as well as best Conduits. We also highlight how to best use your Signature and Class Covenant Abilities.
Keep in mind that Shadowlands updates and hotfixes may change these without notice. Also keep in mind that "Best" can be both pretty subjective and, in many cases, a very close call. This list should be viewed in that light.

Necrolords Covenant Special Abilities
All members of the Necrolords Covenant receive one Signature Ability and one Class Ability. The Signature Ability is the same for all Necrolords, while the Class Ability is different for each class.
Necrolords Covenant Signature Ability
血肉铸造
:
Form a shield of flesh and bone over 3 seconds (was 4 seconds) that absorbs damage equal to 40% of your maximum health for 2 minutes. While channeling, your damage taken is reduced by 30%. Passive effect – Moving near an enemy’s corpse consumes their essence to reduce Fleshcraft’s cooldown by 1 second.
This has been improved from its original iteration. The original version of this ability gave no damage mitigation during the channel, which was 1 second longer than it is now. Plus, if something interrupted the channel, you lost all benefit.
Channeling near corpses used to improve the power of the shield, but the rework instead improved the overall damage reduction the shield offered without having to be near a corpse. This makes it more consistently useful and less reliant on having to stop near corpses, making it much more viable in raids. Not only that, but you would often find yourself draining a powerful corpse and not able to make much use of it because it was too distant from your next objective. Now, channeling near corpses reduces the cooldown time, which means you'll be able to cast more often.

Necrolords Renown
Renown
is a Covenant specific progression system that will measure and build your standing with the Kyrian Covenant. Unlike the two APs (Artifact Power and Azerite Power) in the previous expansions, Renown is not an open-ended grind; it is a metered progression system that you will work through as you play the game.
Renown is awarded from a specific Covenant quests such as the weekly quest,
. This quest rewards 1 Renown and will become an important part of your weekly routine. There are a limited number of quests that offer Renown, however if you are behind there is a chance to earn Renown from Callings. The maximum Renown is 40; once you reach Renown 40, the quests that previously awarded Renown will award gold.
As Renown is earned, perks are opened at each level. These include:
open tiers of Soulbinds
recruit Adventurers for your scouting map
increase reward item levels for World Quests
earn perks such as legendary recipes, pets, mounts, and Covenant transmogs
open chapters of your Covenant campaign
increase the number of souls you can rescue from the Maw each week
For information about earning Renown and what specific rewards you can earn with Renown as a Necrolord, please consult these guides:

Necrolord Covenant Story Campaign
Every Covenant has a special story campaign focusing on the conflict in Shadowlands and a major character from Warcraft's lore. The recent civil war has torn the once five Great Houses apart, and only the House of the Chosen remains true to Maldraxxus's sacred purpose.
Unlocking later chapters of the Covenant Campaigns requires higher Renown levels. For a walkthrough of the Covenant Story campaign, as well as a list of rewards unlocked from each chapter, please visit our detailed guide:
Necrolord Covenant Campaign Guide
Necrolord Covenant Soulbinds
Soulbinds
allow you to share powers with a mighty denizen of your chosen Covenant. By undergoing a ritual with this being, you will have access to a Soulbind tree that will give access to specific powers of that denizen. These new powers are earned over time, as you improve your relationship through the Soulbind. Each being capable of forming a Soulbind has their own character, story, and powers to lend.
Changing Soulbinds for specific purposes will be much like changing talents. It will be easy to change from one Soulbind to the other, without nominal cost for the "respec" and no increasing costs to worry about.
The powers a Soulbind offers are fixed and remain the same regardless of the character's class or spec. To allow for customization within each Soulbind, there is a new item type called a Conduit that allows you to alter some of the powers in the Soulbind's power structure. When applied to a single tree power, it will not only alter that ability, but may also open up or cut off possible selections down the tree.
Conduits are items which allow an additional level of customization to your Soulbind with bonuses that are specific to your class and or spec. They are categorized into three types:
Potency
(Throughput),
Endurance
(Survival), and
Finesse
(Utility). Conduits have ranks which allow you to upgrade their power.
Potency Conduits
improve the power of your spells and are spec or Covenant specific. There are four for each DPS and Heals spec, two for Tank specs, and four Covenant specific Conduits.
Endurance Conduits
provide your class with additional defensive value through damage mitigation or increased healing. There are three Endurance Conduits available to all specs and another two available only to Tanks.
Finesse Conduits
provide additional utility to your class. Each class has four Finesse Conduits which are usable by all specs.

Necrolords may earn item and transmog rewards (as well as access to many other features) through the Renown system. For more information on what is earned at which level, please see the separate guide:

Necrolord Armor and Weapon Transmog
The Necrolord armor and cloak transmog sets reflect the might of Maldraxxus. There are armor sets for all four armor types (cloth, leather, mail, and plate), as well as three cloak transmogs that will be available to those who align themselves with the Necrolord. There are also weapon sets, available in four tints, which compliment the Covenant armor sets. In our guides below, we detail how to acquire every armor and weapon tint, as well as provide Dressing Room links and model viewer images.

Necrolord Covenant Sanctum: The Seat of the Primus
The Seat of The Primus is the Sanctum of the Necrolord Covenant of Maldraxxus, and those adventurers choosing to ally themselves with the Necrolord Covenant will find their home here. This hub of activity is where Necrolord members will find their Sanctum features such as the Anima Conductor, the Bone Gates Transport Network, the Scouting Map, and their very own Covenant Feature, the Abomination Factory.
In addition, this is where Necrolord Covenant members can select and change their Soulbinds, alliances with powerful denizens of the Necrolords who will aid them in their adventures.
For more information about the Sanctum, including how to get there and how to access and upgrade features, please visit the Seat of the Primus Sanctum guide.
Seat of The Primus: Necrolord Sanctum Guide
Necrolord Game: Abominable Stitching
Each of the four Covenants in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has a unique feature, an aspect of the Covenant featuring unique gameplay that is only accessible to members of that Covenant. For those who choose to ally with the Necrolords in Maldraxxus, that feature is Abominable Stitching.
Abominable Stitching is a special feature of the Necrolord Covenant. It is a profession based mini-game that allows you to help a selection of souls obtain a body. You'll use special materials to create constructs for these souls. In return for giving them a form, they'll become your companions. They will assist you in your adventures around the Shadowlands and offer you special perks and items.
Abominable Stitching Guide
Necrolord Transportation Network
Every Covenant Sanctum has a Transport Network, which facilitates travel around your Covenant's home zone. There is an entrance to the network inside each Sanctum, and only members of the Covenant who have built up the Transport Network can use it. Like all Sanctum features, it is not operating when you first open you Sanctum, and you will need to invest resources to get it up and working.
Bone Deathgates, the Necrolords Transport Network, is the least developed of the four Covenants' transport systems. It has only three destinations, four if you count the early portal that allows you access to what is essentially the roof of the Seat of the Primus.
Bone Deathgates - Necrolord Transportation Guide
Gaining Favor with the Necrolord Covenant
At level 60, your character will be able to declare their allegiance to one of the four Covenants. While some abilities may be available soon after joining the Covenant, many rewards will need to be earned through questing, world quests, and other common methods of obtaining reputation. These are similar to methods used to gain reputation with factions from previous expansions.
Once you have reached level 60 with one character, you can choose the path your level 50 alts will take for their excursion through Shadowlands. After entering the Shadowlands and completing the Maw, they will be met in Oribos by the Fatescribe, who will offer them the Threads of Fate, the choice of choosing a Covenant immediately or running through the story line your first character already completed.
Loyalty to your Covenant is measured in the form of Renown, a currency you earn through two weekly quests for your Covenant. For general information on raising Renown, please see the Renown Guide.
Covenant Renown
Changing to the Necrolord Covenant
Changing Covenants is simple. If you have never joined the Necrolords before, all you need to do is visit Secutor Mevix in Oribos (43, 74) to request admittance.
If you had belonged to the Necrolords before, joined another Covenant and wish to return, you will need to complete two quests, one a week for two weeks. When you have completed these two quests, you will leave your current Covenant and rejoin the Necrolords.
Once you have been accepted into the new Covenant, your old Covenant relationship ceases to exist, along with all of its Abilities, Soulbinds, and perks, including access to transmogs, mounts, world benefits, etc.

Necrolord Soulbind: Plague Deviser Marileth, the first perk is volatile solvent. This gives you various buffs if you channeling it next to a dead enemy. The buff is depend on the type of the enemy. Undead gives you 5% heal if you kill a mob, there are armor, mastery, primary stat, etc bonus, various by type. The buff last long for 6 minutes, and you can have multiple up at the same time. However, right now on the beta many of them are bugged, and not giving the bonus (by the logs or by the character page).
How large bubble the Fleshcraft gives: if you fully channeling it without a dead enemy, it's 20%. If you fully channeling it at dead lvl60 mob, it's 30%. If you fully channeling it at a dead lvl60 elite mob, you get the maximum 50%

Can we address the fact that abomination limb isn't even an abomination limb, but instead a void tentacle.

The Night Fae Hunter ability "Heart of the Forest", Necrolord Hunter ability "Death Chakram" and the Kyrian Hunter ability Resonating Arrow are all instant casts and do not have a focus cost associated with them. Is this an omission of the guide? If not, it would be helpful to state "0 focus cost" in order to be unambiguous and consistent.

So is it just a placeholder for lightning bolt to hit targets affected by riptide for enh? Because, and correct me if I am wrong here, riptide is a resto thing and its also healing so why would I want to hit my allies with lightning bolt?

Witch one is the right one, cause i don't have shadowlands beta and cannot confirm either, and there is no videos on youtube discusing it....

I'm trying to find a list of the Necrolord Covenant champions for the command table. I only have 8 and I am sure there are more. Any advice or help?

On my old main, max level DK I cannot access any covenant sanctum or change covenants.
I assume at some point a few years ago I took Necrolord, since I now have access to "Abomination Limb" ability. I cannot determine my Renown and there are no quests whatsoever available to me in Oribos or all Shadowlands.
Worst of all I cannot fly in Shadowlands. Setting xpac with Chromie in Stormwind makes no difference. I want to quest, fly, and improve renown. What am I missing? I filed a bug, but got no response yet.
UPDATE
: Blizzard was not helpful. Turns out what I needed was simply to confirm that I had not skipped the entire xpac - that, yes, I had done many SL core quests
but not enough quests to open a covenant
. Specifically, the ability to do anything in the SL xpac depends on finding the one quest where you left off. There were no clues anywhere in game, such as might have been given by questlog campaign storyline progression. The map exclamation point I needed was too tiny for me to notice - giving the appearance that there were no quests at all in the entire xpac. The loremaster achievement detail was obscured as "completed" by another character that in fact had skipped the xpac.
Let me just say that blocking a player from doing *anything* further in the SL xpac because they cannot find the "one quest never picked up" was an awful experience for me. This has been on my mind for more than a year and I finally got irritated enough to solve it. I am very happy that Dragonflight has no such lunacy AND has campaign suggestions in the questlog. If a person bothers to select an old xpac for questing from Chromie, it should come with a campaign tracker.
