Introduction
Welcome to the Mythic Dungeon Tools Guide!
Mythic Dungeon Tools
(MDT) is a World of Warcraft AddOn made by
Nnoggie
which lets players study, plan, and optimize Mythic Plus dungeon gameplay. This guide will help you learn about all of the features that the AddOn brings, so that you too can become a master of Mythic Plus!
MDT is a completely free AddOn that is updated regularly for every new expansion and M+ season, and has steadily improved in features aswell as speed and reliability of updates since its inception in 2018.
Why is Mythic Dungeon Tools Important?
Since the addition of Mythic Plus to World of Warcraft in the Legion expansion, players have been trying to optimize dungeon gameplay. This includes choosing which enemies to defeat, as well as coming up with routes to beat the dungeon timer in the most efficient and reliable way. In Mythic Plus, every enemy awards a certain amount of enemy forces when defeated and one of the criterias for beating the dungeon is reaching 100% enemy forces. Not every enemy nets the same amount of forces and this is where the core motivation for MDT started. Players can use MDT to create routes for dungeons that are optimized around enemy forces and share them with their friends.

What does MDT
not
do?
Installing Mythic Dungeon Tools
MDT is available on the CurseForge client or on the
CurseForge Website
.
Head over to our guide AddOns: How to Install and Maintain if you are new to installing AddOns.
Creating Your First Route
After installing the AddOn you will now notice a new button appearing next to your minimap. Simply click it or type the slash command
/mdt
to open up the AddOn.
Now you will see the main AddOn window from where you can control all of its functionality:
This is the Dungeon dropdown where you can choose between any Mythic+ dungeon including all previous Mythic+ seasons
Here you choose the M+ affix combination and difficulty
On the map you can click enemy portraits to add enemies to pulls
All your pulls that you created will be shown on the pull list on the right hand side
Enemies and Pulls
After selecting the dungeon, affixes, and difficulty level that you would like to plan a route for, you are now ready to create some pulls.
Make sure to set the difficulty to at least level 10 if you want to create routes that should include the seasonal affix. In many cases enemy forces change based on the seasonal affix.
To add an enemy to a pull simply click on its portrait on the map. All enemies that are linked to the one that you clicked will be automatically added.
Now, a route does not just simply consist of a single pull, so in order to create another pull either hold the Shift Key while clicking an enemy, or create a new empty pull first by using the button in the pull list and then clicking on the enemy that you would like to add.
You can also add enemies to already existing pulls by simply dragging enemies into pulls on the map. Alternatively you can select the pull that you wish to add enemies to on the pull list and click enemies to add them normally.
Removing enemies is just as simple as adding them, just click the portrait once more.
The pulls you create will appear on the pull list on the right hand side of the AddOn window. Here you can get an overview over which enemies you have in each pull, how many enemy forces you collect, information on the season affix and more.
The list has full drag and drop functionality, that allows you to re-order your pulls.
Furthermore, if you right-click on a pull, you get access to a context menu that allows you to to re-order, clear, or delete pulls in this list.
Colors, What Do They Mean?
All pulls that you create will be colored automatically to make it easier to distinguish between them. You can customize the coloring in the color option menu.
Enemy Forces
You might have noticed that there is some important information available when you hover your mouse over enemies. Here you can see the ingame models, health values and enemy forces of the enemies.
Important to note here is that there is a distinction between raw enemy forces and enemy forces percentage!
For example the enemy Heavy Scrapbot in Mechagon: Junkyard awards 5 enemy forces out of the needed total of 332, which equates to 1.51%.
Enemy Forces are often also called
count
.
When you select more enemies the progress bar above the pull list will fill up. The best dungeon routes usually have exactly (or a small amount over) 100% enemy forces selected!
Routes, Sharing, and Collaborating
To share a route with your group members, simply click the
Share
button and other users of MDT can now click on your route in party chat and see the route that you have come up with.
Alternatively, you can export the route to a text string and use external services such as
KeystoneGuru
to share your route with other players. They can then click the Import button to import your route.
Live Mode
Mythic Dungeon Tools also comes with an awesome feature called
Live Mode
.
Instead of just sharing routes with each other with the Share button, players can also create a Live session instead to collaborate on routes directly within the AddOn.
This can help if players in your party want to to different things within the route and helps to keeps things organized.
To start the Live Mode, simply press the
Live
button while in a group. Now other players can join your session via the chat link or by pressing the Live button themselves.
All changes that are now being made to the route are instantly synchronized between all participating players.
Where to Find Routes
If you want to play a route that somebody else has made, you can find many routes on
KeystoneGuru!
A popular creator of routes is
Dratnos
, who hosts his
weekly routes on Raider.io
.
More Features
Toolbar
To add markings such as arrows, paths, or notes to a route, you can use the toolbar at the top of the AddOn window. Select a tool and start drawing on the map. The drawings are independent from your selected pulls and can act as additional info in your routes.
This can include marking certain paths that you might take, skips that the group should be aware of, and much more!
Special Dungeon Features
For some dungeons MDT provides special objects on the map that can be interacted with. For example in Mechagon: Junkyard all special bots such as
滑油机器人
,
焊接机器人
, and
震击机器人
are included on the map and can be assigned to players. This even works in the aforementioned Live Mode!
Enemy Info
Additional information on enemies is available by right clicking enemies on the map. Here you can find spells that the enemy casts, what crowd control they are susceptible to, and detailed information on their characteristics including level, creature type, and more!
Resizing and Fullscreen Mode
MDT can be fully resized by the drag handle in the bottom right, and even comes with a fullscreen option available via a button in the top right.
What's next?
In the near future the main focus will be adding all Dragonflight Mythic+ dungeon data to the AddOn and making sure all bugs that a new expansion brings to existing AddOns are fixed.
The previously mentioned Live mode will get a usability update, and potentially will be merged with the sharing feature.
Many features that are being added to MDT have been requested by the community. If you have any cool ideas make sure to share them in Discord or on GitHub (links below).

The idea of this addon is fantastic, but in my opinion it lacks integration WITHIN the mythic, during the execution of the instance.
There should be a way to mark the objectives that the addon has assigned once you pass the mouse over the enemy bars or replace the M key (to see the map) that when you press it, this addon appears.
