will trigger when you walk slightly down the path. He's harmless except for Shadow Wave which will target a random area and then murder everyone inside it a few seconds later. Strafe around so that you're behind him to avoid it.
Tip: If you try to avoid

, he will actually run around the entire platform and then fly back to his starting point. This means that it will take an incredible amount of effort to skip him for good and it's probably not worth it.
The Stalker is alone, but can be pulled with the patrol.
The Felbringers drop
炽燃之速
that will give you a haste buff if you stand inside. Kill the Felbringer last to maximize the number of bubbles you can take advantage of. Keep the enemies out of
炽燃之速
, while your party uses it to kill the enemies quickly. Just make sure to watch your health!
Tip: You can pull the patrol if Dul'zak to take advantage of the haste buff there, though this is riskier.
Walk around the inside of the pillar to avoid the Dreadwing pack. They aren't that dangerous, but it's still unnecessary trash that's easily skipped. You can fall to your death, so take a bit of care.
There are two 5 packs here so make sure to move mobs out of

This is actually a nasty pack and you might benefit from pulling them downstairs to a more open area. You need to interrupt

Skip the patrol by jumping over the flowers. If you end up pulling it then just kill it at the base of the stairs.
Pull the Hellblaze Imps on the right hand side along with the two that bounce from side to side. Don't let them get a cast off if possible.
-> You need to clear every pack here, preferably before you pull

-> The Scavengers will throw random books around you which will begin to cast spells.
-> Tip: If the Books are casting, you can stun the book and then just cleave them down - they won't start a new cast.
-> You can pull more than one pack at once, but you'll need to keep them locked down since both mob types are quite dangerous if left to free cast.
Gazerax has a couple spells that we need to be very familiar with (in order of importance):

: Long cast time, then instant death to anyone facing him.
- Focused Destruction: Heavy AoE damage to the party over six seconds. Have your healer cooldowns ready.
- Tip: Focused Destruction does damage randomly similar to
灵魂之引

: Easily avoidable swirls on the ground.
The boss will crash down in the middle after he dies. Give him some room so that your healer can drink.
A terrifying looking pack. Fortunately, 90% of them will flee when you walk into the room. Hold off your DPS until they go and then focus down the five that remain. Remember to take care of any books thrown.
Pull the Necrotic Spiderlings to the right so we have some room to operate. They'll die quickly but they stack a pretty nasty poison on the tank.
Next, pull the two enforcers along with the Orbcaster patrol. The Enforcers just deal tank damage and should be faced away from the party. The Orbcaster will charge up a mini spirit bomb which will spin forward killing all in its path. If the Orbcaster is tanked at the top of the bridge then the DPS and healers can dodge the orb by standing at the bottom (it'll go over your head).
Nal'asha doesn't have many mechanics, but she does have a bunch of spiderlings. She'll teleport behind a random player every 30 second or so before casting a large AoE cone attack in the direction she's facing. If you stack up then you can move behind her together when she teleports. This also makes it much easier for the tank to pick up fresh Spiderling spawns.
Tip: You can pull the mini-boss down the Thrashbite's room to avoid new Spiderling spawns. It's a little slower, but much much safer.
These will all pull together but aside from their cleave they aren't dangerous.

Affixes
Let's take a look at some of the notable affix interactions in Cathedral.
Tyrannical Grievous Cathedral is one of the hardest dungeons to complete.
Mephistroth will keep the entire party perpetually in Grievous and you're looking somewhere in the range of 1.5m HPS over a 3 minute fight on a high key.
Agronox's Poisonous Spores aura does the same thing, but isn't quite so bad because the damage ramps up over the fight and so you can power through it with good DPS.
Nal'Asha should be kited down the Thrashbite'dws room to avoid spiderling spawns ramping up Necrotic stacks on the tank too quickly. They attack very very fast.
Avoid pushing Gazerax below 30% health until just after a Focused Destruction cast.
For the pack directly after Smashspite, line of sight the mobs into Smashspite's room. While only a few mobs engage you, they all have a chance to spawn Explosive. Being out of line of sight prevents being overrun by Explosive.

You should know
Argonox is a tightly tuned, flower-heavy encounter where all of the mechanics come in waves.
Priority is: Run out of Choking Vines > Target Fulminating Lasher > Target Boss.
Fulminating Lasher's spawn at the back of the room 20 seconds into the fight, and then a second time 40 seconds later. Five will spawn and they'll fixate one party member each. These will explode if they reach their target and on high keys this is a one shot. Stun them, slow them, kite them.
Do not let them touch you.
Stack up to bring them together for more efficient AoE.
Tip: There are only two waves of Fulminating Lasher's. After you've cleared the two sets you're done with them for the rest of the fight.
At the same time, random flowers will pop up along the side of the room and grip random players in with thorny vines. You can break the vines by moving 20 yards away from the flower (make sure you don't run into the Fulminating Lasher while doing so). Anyone afflicted will need
urgent
healing.
Overlapping both of these mechanics is a third type of flower, the Succulent Lasher, which spawn in melee range roughly every 40 seconds. These AoE in an 8 yard circle around themselves after a short cast and drop easy to avoid pools on the ground.

You should know
The types of books that spawn when each bookcase is broken are fixed:
Northwest:
Fictional Book + Satirical Book
Northeast:
Fictional Book + Satirical Book
Southwest:
Biographical Book + Satirical Book
Southeast:
Fictional Book + Satirical Book
Tip: You can therefore avoid the Mindcontrolling Biographical book altogether by avoiding the Southwest bookcase.
Pulverizing Cudgel and Heavy Cudgel are both basic don't stand in this mechanic and shouldn't cause you much issue so long as you don't tunnel-vision the boss.
Scornful Charge will target a player and then five seconds later charge toward them, stopping when he hits a player or bookcase. Immunities are very effective against this ability since on higher keys you're prone to running out of bookcases otherwise. You'll also get no book spawns this way which lets you focus more damage on the boss.
Tip: Smashspite hits harder while he is equipped with his cudgel. Once he throws his cudgel, his melee swings will be greatly reduced.

You should know
Target priority is Fel Portal Guardian > Searing Overfiend (hopefully none) > Hellblaze Mistress > Hellblaze Imp > Boss
Make sure to interrupt the Hellblaze Imp's casts, as they will randomly target player, and have a chance of one-shotting them.
Chaotic Energy hits every 35 seconds and you'll need to be within the Aegis of Aggramar to survive it. Try and move into the shield at the last second to preserve its energy and maximise your DPS. The tank can usually take the hit with the help of some cooldowns. You can expect it to hit for around 15 million raw damage on a 20 tyrannical. I'd strongly recommend they do so if they're tanking any Hellblaze Mistresses since they can easily sweep your entire party out of the shield.
Portal Guardians spawn at 90% and 50% health and killing them quickly is an absolute priority. If you don't get them down within 20 seconds they'll summon Searing Overfields which can quickly wipe your attempt.
Tip: Try to wait until the next Chaotic Energy before pushing the boss past 50%, so you have the maximum amount of time before the next one.
Tip: Save your stuns and knockbacks for the Hellblaze Mistresses during Chaotic Energy to avoid getting knocked out of the shield.

You should know
Mephistroth is a heal-heavy fight with minimal mechanics for the DPS to contend with.
Demonic Upheaval will target two players, and they should move toward opposite sides of the room to make the resulting circles easier to dodge.
Players should be spread at least 7 yards apart so that each Dark Solitude missile only hits one person.
In phase 2, DPS should coordinate which Shadow of Mephistroth to kill first since keeping their numbers to a minimum is essential.
Anyone can control the Aegis of Aggramar
. It doesn't have to be a tank (and if a mobile ranged DPS or healer can take it then the tank can actually add some damage.
Tip: Due to some recent nerfs, any player can soak the balls from the Shadow of Mephistroth without using the Aegis to help when there are multiple balls coming from different directions.
During Phase 2 you'll be contending with Creeping Shadows with deals an increasing amount of damage throughout the phase. This is a throughput check for you, and your cooldowns are best used here.
After your first visit to phase 2, Dreadwings will bombard the platform with Fel Blaze. This is dodgeable and you should do so.

Enemies who die will buff other nearby enemies with
激励
, causing them to gain 20% health and deal 20% additional damage. This can stack multiple times, resulting in an extremely dangerous enemy that will take a long time to defeat. The range on the buffing ability is 30 yards in 7.2. In addition, mobs affected by the
激励
buff will become immune to many types of CC (though they are still vulnerable to stuns).
This affix causes the end of a trash fight to be more dangerous than the start. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once, so that the maximum stack size of
激励
stays low
Attempt to DPS the enemies down evenly
However, if there is a priority target, such as the Wrathguard Bladelord in Black Rook Hold, it may still be beneficial to focus fire and kill these targets first
The healer will need to use cooldowns on the tank if possible when an enemy has high stacks of
激励
The
激励
affix does not apply to adds in a boss encounter. For example, killing the Risen Warriors in the Mythic+ Ymiron fight in Maw of Souls should not apply
激励
to Ymiron or any of the other Risen Warriors. However, if players drag trash packs into a boss fight, those trash mobs will apply
激励
to the boss when they die. This is undesirable. If players wish to save time by dragging trash into a boss fight, be sure to pull the trash more than 30 yards away from the boss before killing it.
Successful melee attacks will apply the
死疽溃烂
debuff to the struck player, reducing the potency of healing and absorption shields by 3% per stack, and dealing stacking damage. The
死疽溃烂
debuff lasts for 9 seconds in 7.2, but the duration of the debuff is refreshed each time a new stack is applied, so it will be very difficult for tanks to drop their stacks while actively in combat.
死疽溃烂
is removed upon dropping combat.
This can stack very rapidly on large trash packs, and can be a nuisance on boss fights. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once
Use AoE CCs, such as stuns, knockbacks, and slows, to allow the tank to kite effectively at high stacks of
死疽溃烂
During boss fights, a non-tank player with a taunt ability can taunt the boss away from the tank to allow
死疽溃烂
to fall off
At very high Keystone levels, groups may wish to bring two tanks to help manage the
死疽溃烂
debuff.
When the
震荡
affix is active, at random times throughout the dungeon (regardless of combat) all players will receive the
践踏
debuff and upon expiry inflict damage and interrupting active spell casts to themselves and nearby allies.
践踏
can apply when running between bosses and will continue to occur after the dungeon is completed. If your party's composition is melee heavy, make sure to spread out the circles whenever
践踏
is applied.
The
暴怒
affix causes enemies to
激怒
at 30% health, dealing 100% additional damage until they are defeated.
When this affix is active, AoE and cleave damage can be dangerous. Be sure to mark a priority target in each pull, and when that target
激怒
s, focus fire to bring it down quickly. Stuns and other forms of CC can be used to reduce the damage the party will take from
激怒
d mobs.
A pool of Sanguine IchorWhenever a non-boss enemy dies, a pool of
鲜血脓液
forms at its location. This spell has two effects:
鲜血脓液
heals enemies standing within it for 5% of their health each second
鲜血脓液
deals damage to players standing within it for 15% of their health each second
Tanks must pull the remaining mobs away from the location of the
鲜血脓液
pool, and melee DPS must be cautious. It does take several seconds for the
鲜血脓液
to form, so there is plenty of time to react and avoid damage.
This affix is particularly difficult when fighting large groups of trivial adds, and may require tanks to clear additional space or pull enemies back into previously cleared areas so there is room to kite. This is also a difficult mechanic in any area where the predominant floor color is red - particularly in the Oakheart-to-Dresaron stretch of Darkheart Thicket.
In 7.2, Sanguine pools have been changed to apply their first damage tick immediately. This means that it's more important to place the pools of sanguine in safe locations so that the group may traverse the dungeon without taking a large amount of damage from crossing the sanguine pools after combat has ended.
The
无常
affix causes tank threat to be less potent, meaning that DPS players are likely to pull threat off of the tank if not careful. Tanks should mark a priority target on which they will be focusing the brunt of their attacks, and DPS should try to avoid dealing too much damage to the non-priority targets.
Hunters and Rogues should help the tank by using
误导
and
嫁祸诀窍
respectively.
In a
繁盛
dungeon, the number of trash mobs that players must kill in order to meet the "Enemy Forces" requirement is increased to accommodate the additional trash.
The
繁盛
affix causes extra mobs to spawn in particular trash packs. Not every pack is affected, but many of the most dangerous trash packs are.
The
易爆
affix causes enemies that you are currently in combat with to spawn Fel Explosives within 3 yards of its current location. These Fel Explosives will begin to cast
爆炸
and if successful, will detonate dealing a significant amount of damage. Fel Explosives have a very small amount of HP but are completely immune to AoE spells such as
暴风雪
and
星辰坠落
.
Since every monster has a chance to spawn Fel Explosives, be careful about pulling too many monsters at a time. If you pull too many, you might spend all your time killing Fel Explosives and not actually hitting the monsters themselves!
These orbs are the top priority for all players!
The
重伤
affix is particularly dangerous against monsters that deal consistant AoE damage. When a player falls below 90% health, the
重伤
DoT is applied and begins to stack every couple of seconds until the player reaches full health. These stacks will cap at 5 but it's important for the healer to remove these as soon as possible to avoid falling behind. DPS should avoid taking as much damage as possible this week, since taking damage is extra punishing due to the
重伤
debuff.
崩裂
, is essentially one of the main mechanics from Mythic: Il'gynoth in the Emerald Nightmare. Whenever a monster is killed, all players will get a stack of
爆裂
which will stack. One or two stacks will not be deadly, but killing an entire pack of 8 packs simultaneously will probably end up killing the party.
During
崩裂
, it's important to stagger the deaths of the enemy forces so that the debuff doesn't stack up too high. Be careful not to use too many AoE abilities and kill the monsters too soon.
Immunity abilities such as
暗影斗篷
and
寒冰屏障
will remove all current stacks and prevent future stacks from applying.
A Volcanic Plume
Move before it erupts
Enemies in a
火山
dungeon will cause
岩浆柱
s to spawn beneath the feet of distant players. Two seconds later, the
岩浆柱
will erupt, dealing damage equal to 50% of the player's health to any player standing within 2 yards of the Plume. Both boss and trash mobs will cause Volcanic Plumes to form.
When fighting a single enemy, a
岩浆柱
will form approximately every 10 seconds.
Note that "distant" refers to the distance from the enemy mob. In most cases, melee DPS and tanks do not have to worry about this mechanic, and if ranged DPS and healers stand close to the enemies,
岩浆柱
s may not spawn. However, if there is an enemy that leaps away, or an add that spawns far from its summoner,
岩浆柱
s may begin to appear in melee range. This can occur during the following notable fights:
During the Inquisitor Tormentorum encounter in the Vault of the Wardens, due to the Tormenting Orbs
Fighting Valarjar Marksman in the Halls of Valor
Fighting Rockbound Trappers in Neltharion's Lair, or during the Naraxas encounter

s can be difficult to see during bright or busy ground effects. Players should move out of the
岩浆柱
immediately upon noticing it, and may wish to preemptively move during mechanics such as Eye of the Storm in the Hyrja encounter, where constant unavoidable damage combined with the
岩浆柱
hit could cause a fatality.

is multiplicative with the Mythic+damage and health modifiersThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a
强韧
dungeon, all of the trash mobs have 20% more health and deal 30% additional damage.
Avoid pulling excessive trash packs
Use AoE CC and stuns liberally to reduce damage
Focus on priority targets
Tanks may need to kite enemies more frequently
Multiple tanks may be preferred for certain dungeons with particularly dangerous trash pulls

's damage and health bonuses are multiplicative with the Mythic+ damage and health bonuses shown in the table above. This means that on Mythic +10, the trash will all have 140% additional health and deal 180% additional damage. Certain trash packs may be able to one-shot party members with their mechanics under this affix; for example, the
瓦拉加尔刻符者
in

may instantly kill players with

if it is allowed to cast. Interrupts and performing trash mechanics properly are very important!

is particularly dangerous in combination with

affixes.

greatly increases thedanger of boss fightsThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a

dungeon, all of the bosses have 40% more health and deal 15% additional damage.
This can cause many extremely dangerous abilities to one-shot the party if health levels are not high enough

This means that on Mythic +10, bosses will have 180% additional health and deal 140% additional damage. Certain bosses that gain percent-based damage modifiers during the course of their encounter pose particular problems in

The interaction for "Explosive" says "For the pack directly after Smashspite, line of sight the mobs into Smashspite's room. While only a few mobs engage you, they all have a chance to spawn Explosive. Being out of line of sight prevents being overrun by Explosive" , however Smashspite is not in this instance
