Setesh is a reference to the egyptian god of chaos and storms Set, judging by his name, position ("Construct of Destruction") and appearance, which bears close resemblance to the representations of Set.

(Due to the pointy ears, he's closer in appearance to Anubis though.)

Heroic: How

Boss is basically untankable, he just spams chaos bolts at players
Portals spawn periodically, DPS down the portal asap
From portals, first spawns construct thingie (Tank it, can not be killed), 3 small wyrms (Tank can kill these as well), shadow seeker (should not spawn with enough dps, debuffs target)
Tank tanks the constructs and kites them around, all dps focuses on the boss
Dont stand in the shadow zones
Dont get hit by the meteor thingies coming from the sky

Just to add to the poster above:

Always focus the portal. If you are fast enough, only the Construct will spawn and nothing else.
That makes this fight a walk in the park.
Leave the construct alone. When there's no portal up: go hit the boss instead.

The key to winning this fight on heroic is making your tank and DPS are following the boss at all times when he's moving to pick up adds and burn the portals down fast enough. If you do it correctly, only one sentinel and two wurms will spawn.

Your DPS should never be attacking the adds. Portals first, then boss. Obviously, avoiding the stupid is important. You won't be able to down portals fast enough if one DPS is dead.

Heroic
Pretty simple mechanics, fairly difficult execution.

The key to this fight is killing the portals before a Void Seeker can be spawned out of them. The boss is un-tankable and your tank should only worry about picking up the adds that spawn from the portals. Two DPS and your tank should be able to take out the portals before a Seeker spawns, so leave one DPS on the boss for the whole fight and have the other two switch to the boss when a portal isn't up. If a Void Seeker is spawned, it should be killed ASAP and your DPS should all switch to portals in order to get back ahead of the spawns.

The boss will throw large purple crystal things at random locations around the room. These move very slowly and should be avoided, as they explode for a large amount of damage in a huge circle, and leave behind a high-damage void zone.

The boss will also periodically cast an ability that will spawn green domes around him. Just stay out of the domes and you'll be fine.

Finally, there are crystals that will randomly spawn around the room. They are small and purple with a green glow. Any close DPS that are not currently busy with a portal should run onto the crystal. The crystal will explode for a small amount of damage and leave a debuff called Seed of Chaos on the player that causes all damaging abilities to send a bolt at the target for ~18k+ damage.

If you keep the portals from spawning Void Seekers and don't die to the easily avoidable AoE abilities, it's a pretty simple fight.

Warrior tanks that spec piercing howl will find that this fight is extremely easy. Between Shockwave and Piercing Howl, you should rarely ever get hit when kiting the adds. Pretty much what I do is shockwave the add ball, rend, thunderclap, piercing howl, then run away like a little girl!

A fun little tip, a warlock can Enslave the Void Seekers, they deal quite a bit of damage. Using them you can crowd control more mobs.

Just nuke boss, tank makes sure to keep aggro from the healer and interrupt Magic Shell channelling and win. (This is on heroic)

KEY TO WINNING THE DPS RACE

Move into the little glowing crystals that spawn around the room. All your abilities deal an extra ~20,000 damage for 15 sec. Makes the dps race much easier.

mungojerrie explained this most important fact to beating this boss, but he put it under a mountain of text and most people probably skimmed over it along with all the other stuff they already knew.

Has anyone figured out yet if the Seed of Chaos debuff has an internal CD on it? In other words, if as a mage I got it should I just spam Ice Lance to get it proccing as often as possible, or would the debuff only fire off every x seconds so I should just stick with my normal rotation?

From my experience, this is the hardest out of all the heroic bosses, even though it may not seem like that at first. I have completed it with some groups, while with others no matter what we did we just couldn't kill her.

The biggest issues seems to be that the boss simply does not take enough damage fast enough, meaning the tank will get overwhelmed with adds, and I, as a holy priest, started pulling aggro on some of them.

Taking down portals before a Void Seeker spawns seems to be a non-issue with even mediocre dps.

What we did was that we didn't kill the Portals, just nuked the boss as fast as we could, worked perfect and killed it on first try after we tried doing the boss 3 times the way it is supposed to be done.

After wiping on him with one group trying to kill the portals to stop the adds, I decided to try ignoring the portals and burning down the boss with the next group.

It didn't work.

We then tried it the 'correct' way, and he went down easily. Essentially, you need the DPS to get the portals down quickly enough that the void seekers don't spawn, and enough to make the DPS lost during killing the portals not matter. Any heroic geared group should have no trouble with this, so long as they can maintain steady, high DPS. The constructs do not hit for very hard on the tank, and so long as he can pick 'em up and the DPS avoid the mines and void zones, the healer should pretty much be able to focus on the tank to help keep them on their feet.

Blowing DPS cooldowns at the start helps, because there's a window where you can damage him with no running back or forth. Also, the tank should use any self-healing mechanics, or damage mitigation mechanics, they can. Our prot Paladin used a self-healing rotation, which worked great.

Also to note, small floating crystals do spawn which increase damage dealt if run over. They're nice if you can get 'em, but don't waste DPS running to grab them, especially if you're melee.

The Chaos Seeds absolutely help a ton on this fight.
When you get close to one you get hit with this spell, and get this awesome buff.
As the healer of the group I could not test for an internal cooldown, but wowhead lists none, so blast away.

Also fun to note is the spell school of the buff, chaos, meaning every single school of magic possible :P

Funny things happen when you flee combat and kite the adds in the elevator... basically they can't leash, camp the elevator, means you're screwed :D

Just downed Setesh by having the tank go dps, ignoring all portals, having the healer kite the adds around the room, and blowing heroism at the start. Zerging Setesh is a viable strat with moderately high dps.

Edited to add: Yes, this was heroic mode. Healer was a druid though, so they were kiting pretty successfully.

This guy is a huge pain. What I did was have everyone pop all of their CD's at once and nuke the hell out of him. We downed him pretty quick (we had a tank who was in dps gear, a priest, an arcane mage, a combat rogue, and a ret pally).

Had trouble healing tank, he was bubbled, got Immune messages. Couldn't dispel bubble, what causes it? I think he was kiting through the purple on the gound.

Setesh, along with the other three constructs, can be found as a replica statue at the Gate of Endless Cycles between Tanaris and Uldum. Tanaris coordinates for this canyon are 23,66.

Each statue seems to be holding a special staff unique to the construct. Unfortunately, they don't wield these staves during their actual encounters.
