One of the "better" pre-MC robes for casters because of the major amount of intellect for its level. The pattern is easily obtained in the library of Dire Maul. You often have to pay a pretty penny to get it but it's well worth it if you're just getting started.

Make sure you get the key from dire maul east otherwise you wont be able to make it into the library. I soloed east and west as holy priest long as you avoid the pats or three you should be fine.

Just spent a couple hours going through all the process of making these. Sure i may be 80, i may have a number of 80 epics, and these robes are so ancient... but they look really beautiful. One of the really nice designs ive seen.
Went into DM East, found the imp, chased him, owned him and looted his key. Then went into DM West, avoided all mobs, killed a few mobs that were in my way and bought the recipe. Then hearthed back to northrend, went to stormwind, got the rest of the mats and made it. :P
IMO just for the looks alone, its well worth it.
Added a screenshot of Zophia, my priest of Nagrand server wearing the robes. With pale white skin and hair, it really suits her nicely esp. since robes on draenei females show off their 'shapely' figure. :P

The
White Swashbuckler's Shirt
goes very nicely with this robe. There is a screenshot of this combination uploaded to wowhead here, it comes out rather classy!
There are also different colors of this same model;
Elegant Robes
is a gold version.
Robes of the Exalted
is the aqua version.
Alanna's Embrace
is the purple version.
As of this editing the "same model as" tab is not correct - it is missing
Alanna's Embrace
and has earthen vest instead. Is there a way to contact wowhead and let them know?

Still hunting for good gloves, boots and belt!

I love this item for transmog and decided to build a set around it.
For the shoulders, I found a couple of options as random drops. I chose the
Aurora Mantle
, which gives a nice, stark white, clean look. However, I was also looking at the
Gossamer Shoulderpads
, which offer a little more flair at the cost of the white not being quite as bright as the robe. Large shoulders will overwhelm the dress.
Gloves were tough. As a priest, I chose to go with the
Handwraps (or Gloves) of the Incarnate
, which is the T4 glove token that drops from the Curator in Karazhan. The top section of the gloves matches perfectly, but the bottom half has that weird dark pattern going on. Still, it was all I could find. Non-priests might care for the
Astralaan Gloves
, but I feel like they're too white to match. You may want to look at your belt, feet, and head first, and pick gloves to match those. Another option is to go with a short glove model that tucks underneath any bracers you get and plan for a matching bracer. There are several colorful accents like the
Runed Spell-Cuffs
.
The belt was difficult as well; so many belts are either far too dark or have obvious distracting patterns. None are really intended to match white sets at all. I ended up choosing
A'dal's Gift
, which is an elegant pale gold. Another option I looked at for a really cool contrast was the
Apothecary's Waistband
(Horde only). It's bright bloody red and would pair well with a
Crimson Felt Hat
(admittedly totally the opposite style of the robe), some
Wraps of the San'layn
, and a pair of
Ruby Slippers
.
The feet are barely visible in this set, but do get something, as they'll look quite funny if they're too dark or a strange color.
Ringo's Blizzard Boots
give you a cute sandals look with the right shade of white. If you're playing off the blue shades, there are the
Slippers of Serenity
. Priests who are using the T4 gloves can snag the
Replica Devout Sandals
at the Darkmoon Faire; these match the dark purple in the lower half of the gloves. Or just get something that's greyish. Just not too dark; they'll stick out horribly.
I feel like the cloak is best hidden in this set to show off the pretty open back. However, if you simply must have a cloak, I recommend the
Icy Cloak
as it's one of few that are long and white without an odd chainmail-looking bit at the top. The gold border doesn't quite match the gold of A'dal's Gift (the belt), so you may need to investigate other options.
I feel the head is best hidden as well, however if you must, go for simpler options like a whitish headband (there are tons,
here's just one example
) or a headband with a large colored gem in it that matches your accessories (
this one
matches the blue gems in the robe itself). I could also suggest the
Gossamer Headpiece
if that's your style. I personally think the cowl style looks completely out of place with this robe, but the Aurora Cowl has been suggested. It's white, I guess. Priests are lucky enough to have the
tier 7 head
to use in this set, which is my personal plan.
There are TONS of weapons that work well with this set. I personally prefer
simple
,
elegant
options
; the dressiest I've gotten with it is
Devotion
.
Here's my final set
. Enjoy. :)

It's difficult to find items that match this robe directly, so I thought I'd share the combination I came up with. I liked the palate they used for Heaven in D3, so I went for a blue-green and brown-gold theme where pure white accessories were hard to find.
Head:
Crown of the Ogre King
Shoulders:
Aurora Mantle
Bracers:
Runed Spell-Cuffs
Gloves:
Heavy Linen Gloves
Belt:
Girdle of Nobility
Shoes:
Curate's Boots
Weapon:
Rathrak, the Poisonous Mind
Off-hand:
Fetish of the Primal Gods
Here's the
full set
.
If you can give your toon either dark brown or bright blue hair, it'll round out the look quite nicely :D. Hope you enjoy!

This robe uses the White variant of the "C5 Robe" artwork. It doesn't actually use the same artwork as the rest of the Mooncloth pieces, and so has no transmog page of its own.
There isn't artwork for any other pieces in this set, unless you consider that the skirt half of the robe could be turned into leggings (but hasn't been). So pick whatever you think fits as there are sadly no pieces designed to match.
There are five other colour variants of this robe artwork, but only three are in the game:
Yellow:
优美长袍
Cyan:
尊贵法袍
Purple:
奥兰纳的拥抱
The unavailable colours are Green (a lighter, more yellowish green than Cyan, with a gold trim) and Red (actually orange, with a yellowed or off-white trim)

The pattern can be bought from a vendor in the Dire Maul instance. The actual robe, however, cannot.
评论来自
Thottbot
"so just dont sell the damn vendor patterns!"
I absolutely agree with you.
I think (as i wrote this on the patern: mooncloth robe comments page) they should change it to a white name (and this for all vendor recipes/patterns/books). Or add a mark/name like -V so it is obvious that it is not a drop item.

golden pearls drop off of the sardor island naga in feralas...really easy to farm for the average 300 tailor, and a fairly high drop rate (got three just when i did all the naga quests)

Stats look great, I'm still waiting for a new try off the Robe of the Void to enter the AH (last time it was 160g buyout though). On our server: mooncloth 13-15 each (I have 4 I made myself atm though), Golden Pearls 17-20 each. Runecloth is stupidly easy to farm.
Might make one for myself, then farm and sell them.

i guildy gave me the "pattern" for free. he was gunna sell it in AH but he had no luck finding a buyer. I'm a 300 tailor and i farmed about 30 felcloth from the satyrs in azshara. i 2 mooncloth in 4 days (1st one then 4 day cooldown to second).
in our AH the mooncloth sells for 13g a peice and golden pearls sell for 20g so i bought 2 mooncloth at 13g/piece then i bought 2 golden pearls 20g/piece. so in all it cost me 66g to make it ( runecloth and thread were just gimme's from my friends). Know i get to were it then find the devout robes 2 days later and realize how muhc money i wasted : D

piece of cake and can be soloed very easy....
first of all:
buy a lesser invisibility potion of AH it will be needet...
ride thro Dire maul till you come to the north instance...(the mobs can be avoidet, but just corpse run if needet.)
you will need the key or another person who has it... open the door and enter the instance.
you will need to go down the small yard in front of you... the mob guiding the way down will start to patrol 2 mins after you enter... this is your chance! run down... swallow your potion and take a left its the door right down there...
you will need the key to this door too... (cresent key btw)
enter library (no mobs here, they are all friendly) go left and buy the pattern from the vendor... no rep or pre questing needet:)
as for the robe... i think it looks amazing... white is a awesome Caster color:) and really nice just-turned-60-havent-gotten-my-(inset amazing robe)-yet...
most of the good cloth gear can be crafted... all clothies should be tailors or have a great guild who can make things for em, so you dont get scroughed by greedy noobs...:/

Interesting comparison... If you are a tailor and are clever, and have been making mooncloth from the earliest possible moment you have the opportunity to near instantly step into some gear that other people have been raiding for months for, and still cant get their hands on... You can either plan ahead and grind out the mats for Mooncloth over your last 20 levels or, or pump for some extreme good luck while doing instances, and hope some ninjaing bloody tank wont greed the Devout off you.
If I had a choice, and they were all laid out on the table in front of me, I would definately go for the Devout because of ongoing questing upgrades and the set effect, but in the mean time I will have to be content with wearing mooncloth, which because the cost of it has been offset by farming mats over 20 levels, seems like it will cost me practically zero.
Now, all I gotta do is get the guild tailor to make them for me...
Plan ahead!

This robes stats are pretty damn good. Altough it is lacking a bit in +dmg, usually thats what you should be looking for in those higher levels but you can excuse it because hey what mage doesnt what to upgrade thier robes every so often. Although if your desperate for +dmg i'd recomend Robe of the archmage. The latter robe is horrific in stat wise compared to mooncloth robe ( and heck even robes of the lich ) but you'll forgive it once you realize how much the +spell dmg aids you during those mob fights where the battle is gogogogogo and you need to dump as much dmg as you can onto the target. But meh thats just what I think.

For PvP, this robe is inferior to the Necropile robe from Strat, which is pretty easy to get thanks to about 10% drop rate on eastern strat bossruns.
I'm tailor and have the recipe, but did only produce one for a friend of mine (who now wears Necropile because he's warlock.
I'm shadow priest and didn't bother to make one for myself but wear necropile. The Golden pearls are simply to expensive at about 5-15 G on Zuluhed and I had no success with farming.
