Got lucky I guess but I also saw it drop a few more times before I left so the drop rate is likely pretty high from this one undead.

5 - 7 minutes respawn timer.
You only get loot when Doomsayer's Robes drops.

If you see other Alliance here, form a party. Easier to share a tag that way.

Also I don't have a screenshot but 2 out of 5 ppl in party just looted the toy on the same kill so don't be greedy.

Beware: If you or someone in your group is eligible to loot him, his corpse will despawn within 1-2 seconds of being killed. You need to spam right click to even have a chance to loot him at all.

Happened three times to me already - saw the loot window, saw the blue item, corpse despawned, loot window closed. Not even autoloot was quick enough to grab the item. Very, very annoying.

Fastest way to get to him is to take the Dalaran portal to the Shrine of Seven Stars, then use the teleporter to Ratchet outside. Costs a tiny bit of gold, but definitely the fastest.

This hasnt been mentioned, but horde cannot kill the guy in Orgrimmar.. guess we are forced to go to Stormwind.

If you're Alliance, use a Horde alt to get this toy. The equivalent NPC in one of the least used corners of the city (fireworks shop in the Mage District), while this guy is in arguably the 2nd-most dense player hangout area of Orgrimmar. It's stupidly easier.

I've been killing this guy multiple times. He drops no loot and disappears almost immediately.

Droprate is pretty wild, seen some people get it after their first kill but it's perfectly possible to go 15 without anything.

It's also worth mentioning that this NPC does not always drop loot I just killed him, and his corpses yielded no loot at all. I guess it's either the robes, or nothing?

An easy way to solo this is to have a lvl110 subtlety rogue with the artifact equipped:

1- Fly to Orgimmar, staying really really high
2- Go to 50.8 55.1
3- Dismount and activate stealth. You will drop from a high distance on top of Charles, but you have the Fangs of the Devourer equipped and don't take any fall damage.
4- Kill Charles, hopefully loot the toy.
5- Profit

Alliance Paladins looking for a quick way to this guy without spending the ten gold for the Ratchet teleport at the shrine can simply exit the class hall into the Eastern Plaguelands, fly to Tirisfal, and plop down on top of the Orgrimmar zepplin when it arrives. Incidentally, hovering at equal height to roughly the top of the zepplin at the station where Charles is located is a good way to avoid wind rider patrols and simply wait for him to respawn, should you not get the drop first time.

General advice, once you've killed Charles, make sure to loot him quick, as his corpse despawns not long after he dies. Clear the platform of the grunt and other two NPCs, wait for the aggro'd grunt to come up the stairs (get in line of sight so they come for you) and kill them too. After that, you should be cleared of combat long enough to simply mount up and take your post above the landing again.

Although the drop rate for the toy is high, don't be mislead to thinking that WoWhead's 100% drop rate means it is guaranteed. This is only because the statistic comes from number of times the body has been looted, and the body can only be looted IF the toy is present.

Worth noting if you don't like looking at coordinates hes on the tower where the blimps dock. I got my robes on 2nd kill. First one was slightly weird there was a grunt that kept spawning at bottom of tower that would aggro on me immediately. I killed roughly 5 or 6 times before there was enough of a gap to mount and fly up. 2nd time he only ran up the tower once and i got away. But be aware its possible a well geared person now wont have issues with NPCs but if the horde players take notice it could go bad.

Got this tonight in Ogrimmar after my second kill. It's not that hard to get and the only players I saw were less than level 100. I just killed the guards, got out of combat, flew overhead until he respawned.

This is actually really easy to get! Once your 110 and your gear is decent the guards are easily killable (But bug on the stairs alot haha) Charles himself, is even easier, don't need to use cooldowns or anything. I killed him 3 times until it dropped for me. It's a 100% drop rate, that's correct, but he needs to have it on him if that makes sense!

ps. People previously said he has a respawn time of about 5-6 minutes but it was nearer 8-9.

I just visited him today, as a feral druid with 333 iLvL. Stealthed into Orgrimmar at the Azshara gate and went all the way to Charles up on the tower. I opened on him and had about 5 seconds before people noticed or too many guards were there. I pulled out all my burst and survived with my CDs. Then I checked if I can loot him and jumped off the tower. I went behind the big rock at 55,58 on top of the area. Behind that almost all aggro range from guards fades, sometimes you get one or two Wind Riders left on you but then just kill em and restealth afterwards.

Spawn timer seems to be around 5-10 Minutes. Just go up the tower again and repeat.

I didn't get the item after 5 kills and went on with my life. But it's a reliable form of killing him easily. Did this on almost 5pm time on a busy server, so its possible.

So, first kill and his body was all sparkly.. i got so excited and some dingbat lvl 70 belf on his giant drake stood over him and the body despawned within 2 seconds. So frustrated!
Edit: 2nd kill, same thing minus the belf. Not sure how to loot that fast, i couldnt see his body straight away because of guards attacking me, but it despawned in 2 seconds. I might just give it a miss.

I killed him and he was sparkling with a loot icon. I clicked and the loot window popped up, I saw the toy, and the window closed and he despawned. And there's no toy in my bag. I have killed him again, loot icon again, he despawned before I could click on him because I killed the guard first this time because I thought getting hit bugged the loot window.

I have no clue what caused the loot window to instantly close and despawn the body. Addon perhaps? Having autoloot on?

Best way to get there, just hop on Gromgol Zep (on top of it) and you will be at the right tower, all you need its to jump down. I camped him in stealth around 16h00 EN realm time, CC the guard near him, I threw a shuriken at Charles so I could pull him to the south dock of the tower, he pulled another guard, blinded him, killed Charles, than vanish. Took me 30mins of farming. Be fast to loot it if there is loot, corpse despawn more fast than your usual kill. He spawns within 5-8mins. Good luck !

Killed him 7 times and then the toy dropped. Was surprisingly easy on the Ally character, just queued for a random battleground/brawl in between respawns to pass the time. Was going to do it on Horde originally, but someone was already camping the much easier Gordon in Stormwind.

For some reason i was told that the toy was removed from the game, but decided to try it myself since i didn´t find any confirmation about it. Can confirm that it DOES still drop. killed the guy 4 times and had the toy drop for me. so no, it has not been removed from the game, just incase anyone was wondering.

I killed this guy and was quickly getting railed. I had multiple NPC's on me and I finally got this guy to drop dead and I ran to loot him and I saw the Doomsayer's robes and went to click them and offically loot them and he despawned. The robes went with him. I opened a ticket and told whoever works with tickets that I killed and looted this guy and he had his loot table for me. I don't want to fight Charles again and get unlucky and find myself dying on a zep tower in Org. So if you are planning to do this and try for the robes, PUT AUTOLOOT ON. He will vanish faster than you might think.

EDIT: The Game Master couldn't see this as something that credited me as having looted him. Sucks.

Still obtainable.
16 kills.
Body vanishes very fast if there is no loot.

Took my alliance druid into Org, stealthed behind the boxes in front of Charles and rinse repeat.
The elite standing next to Charles will not body pull but will attack if you hit him.
Just pull Charles and anything else attacking you into the entrance stairs that lead up to the zepp, Charles will attempt to flee at low health, but on the stairs no more guards will spawn onto you, getting you out of combat really easily.

If you fight Charles on the top platform, be cautious where you stand as you can pull the guards who are flying around and the guards on the ground will continue to spawn and run upstairs.

After farming him for 45 minutes, he dropped it, immediately despawned his corpse before I could loot it. Great game Blizzard. Nothing in the mail. Back to another 45 minutes of farming while being harassed by enemy faction players trying to save their city
