The amount of aggro lost per second can be potent to your team.
Mark most dangerous Add, such as Fury from VoW, etc.
Prioritize your aggro on Melee, which should be marked next.
Interrupt Casters, they take the least priority. Even if it's a healer, you can manage the interrupts.
Note: See below link for possible Combos
Skittish is a flat 80% threat reduction for tanks. No "aggro loss per second", no "random aggro drops", plain and simple 80% reduction. Usually tanks generate 10x damage dealt as threat, with skittish it's only 2x damage dealt. Bringing one or more hunters and/or rogues for misdirection/tricks of the trade helps a lot!
There's no way to always hold aggro against similarly geared dps, use as much crowd control as possible and taunt the current highest priority targets on cooldown pretty much. Tanks likely want to use offensive talents and trinkets. Brewmaster monks seem to be able to deal with skittish very well, as one of their abilities (some fire aoe statue?) generates full threat for unknown reasons.
Rather nasty affix, especially for melee classes with high burst damage, such as havoc demon hunters and windwalker monks. Ranged specs have an easier time as they not only get aggro at 130% instead of 110% threat, but also (most of the time) don't stand in melee range and instantly get oneshot by the first melee attack when that happens.
On the 7.2 PTR, skittish threat reduction was reduced to 75% (from 80%), so tanks will generate 25% more threat compared to live (7.1.5), this should be extremely helpful for non-monks.
edit: With BfA, the numbers changed quite a bit. Threat appears to be 4x damage dealt for tanks. No idea on the new threat reduction from skittish, but I don't think it's higher than 25%, more than that would make it somewhat impossible to hold aggro. In general it seems to be an even easier affix than it was in Legion.
1) /assist <tank name here> use this code or basicly set focus your tank or let the tank mark one add and start on dpsing same add with your tank. It helps tanks a bunch. Saying that as a tank. With multiple mobs avaible to attack and dps decide to attack different mobs gives tanks a hard time letting them focus on taunting or stunning missing adds which ends up with lower damage out put then usual and lost more aggro. Snowball effect all over. Not to mention pulling before tank..
2) dont freaked out if you get aggro. A pack usualy have one add with strong melee output. Stun that mob. If you get aggro dont run away from tank. (only if you are about to die, then run) tanks are melee dps remember that.
3)have a lock with
. This one is the best. Also Hunter pets are handy.
I had zero problem keeping aggro during MoS +8 Bursting/Skittish
Hate being in noob groups when this affix is up. usually scrub melee dps that complain and call me bad when they get insta rekked on +17 when I lose agro because they expect me to hold agro vs 3-4 as they cleave like crazy.
Not waiting a single second for me to hold.
Pure cancer to complete because they cannot understand what this affix does.
Advice to DPS players: Give your tanks a chance to hit the mobs properly before you nuke, and try to nuke 1 selected target at a time. If you go yolo and he loses agro, tough @#$%. Dont cry.
People have no clue how easy aggro management is these days compared to old wow. And it shows with the noobs when this affix is active.
Though not officially removed, Skittish will not be present during Shadowlands Season 1.
