This should be retroactive. If you're 300+ fishing, then you obviously have fished more than 100+ fish during your lifetime.

In order for fish to count towards total number of fish caught, you cannot fish in pools and you must catch "Fish", not eels or trunks or crawdads, etc.

This achievement is not retroactive. This was confirmed as I had to fish 100 just to get it.
Old Ironjaw is a thorn on my side.

You have to actually loot the fish, not just have it appear on the screen then cast your line again for the counter to go up. I just noticed that today >< just delete or sell the fish after you loot it if you don't need it after.

Catching 2 fish with 古代熊猫人诱鱼器 activated still only counts as 1 towards this achievement.
