For this achievement everyone in the raid has to be in an 8y range of another player for the whole fight, even the tanks, to not trigger
. The hard part will be his
since he will knockback the player that gets hit by this abilty, which will be triggering
So i would assume you should bring an rogue with shadowstep, windwalker monk with port, warrior with charge or an demonhunter with fel rush (priority mentioned should be the best solution), soaking the
and instantly be again 8y to another player.
This achievement seems impossible on heroic dificulty or higher, since you have to deal with
which spreads in an 10y range and if you want to safely drop this debuff you would already have triggered
Very easy achievement on Normal, very difficult on Heroic (borderline impossible ATM due to lack of gear)
Alone in the Darkness is triggered whenever there's no one within 8 yards of you. Essentially you want to stack the entire raid on one marker, and anytime Dark Fissures spawn underneath you, move as a group to another marker on the other side of the boss. For tanks, you can both safely stack on top of each other on Normal since Shadow Strike only hits one person.
For the raid to worry about there's only one other thing. Marked Prey causes the boss to shoot a lance at a random player after a few seconds, knocking back the first person it hits. Normally this would trigger Alone in the Darkness, but since you're all stacked in one tight pile, you can choose who takes this. Make this person a Rogue, Monk or Warlock. Upon being hit by the knockback they can immediately Shadowstep, Transcendence or Portal back to where they were standing without incurring Alone in the Darkness.
Or you could make everyone in your raid use Draught of Souls from Gul'dan, which makes you immune to
doing real damage
On Heroic, Necrotic Embrace needs to be brought out of the group by 10 or more yards to avoid spreading it to everyone. This means that to do this achievement on Heroic, each person that gets Necrotic Embrace would have to have another player run out with them, and they would have to remain out of the group for the entire fight, which would become healing intensive very quickly.
Simply do this one normal, stack on one marker as a group, moving to another each time Dark Fissures spawn. Have a Rogue/Monk/Lock take the Marked Prey by standing closer than anyone else and have tanks hugging the front and back if the boss near the center of his hitbox.

The simplest solution to deal with the knockback is to have the raid position with their back to the corners. Either the upper right, or upper left corners of the room will work as the corners are spaced far enough apart for dark fissure. Place down 4 raid markers spacing out. as a movement reference point.so the tanks, melee and range stay within the 8 yards required for the achievement.
is triggered whenever a player is not within 8 yards of another player. To deal with this mechanic have your raid stack up near a wall.
From there simply pull Varimathras, nuke him and you'll get the achievement.(##RESPBREAK##)396##DELIM##Nightswifty##DELIM##
We moved the boss to the front of the room (to the left as you enter the room) on the pull. We had the raid in front of the boss and stacked (but not being cleaved), merely strafing from side to side when they needed to. This completely negated the knockback that would potentially cause the achivement to fail. So long as the raid was within 8 yards of the tank 'Alone in the Dark' could never be cast. We also 3 tanked this boss for safety.
The Dedicated & Openraid achievement group completed this on the 3/12/17. Average ilvl of the 30M group (3T/6H/21DPS) was 940+

"Together we stand,
divided we fall"
Super easy achievement to do as level 120.
Our raid group (5 of us) huddled together in a corner of the room and burned him down. Like others have mentioned, being in a corner has your back against the wall and nobody would be pushed away from the group.
I'm pretty sure this cannot be solo'ed, but if the dps is high enough, you can 2-man it. My wife and I did this on Normal difficulty by (as many others have mentioned previously) putting your backs to the wall. I just turned Varimathras around from where he was standing. I brought a blood dk for self heals, and she brought a frost mage for timewarp. As long as I stood in front of her, I would be knocked back and since the wall is behind you, you don't really go anywhere. I just repositioned myself after each knockback so that I would continue to get the knockback. Incoming damage was moderate imo, but nothing a semi-geared 120 couldn't handle (384 ilvl). I think the important thing to note is the dps requirement. If Varimathras enrages, it's game over.
How to solo
kill the boss in under 10 seconds (probably shadowlands high gear managed to do that)
this is the time it takes for the achievement to go from white to red and fail
