Got this on live on December 1st. This achievement is fairly straightforward, but requires a fair amount of self-control from your raid.
In both his first and second intermissions at 80% and 40% respectively Aggramar will go immune to damage and summon small adds called Embers of Taeshalach, which will try to run to the boss, and explode when they reach him. In Normal killing these adds will remove them from the fight, but in Heroic they respawn after 18 seconds and must be allowed to reach the boss in a staggered fashion to not overwhelm the raid with damage due to a stacking damage taken increase for each Ember that hits.
For this achievement, you'll have to CC one of these adds (Banish if possible, Frost Trap/Entangling Root otherwise) and avoid killing it for a while. When the boss pushed back into P2 you must hit this add with the abilities from Aggramar's combo sequence twice. What this means is that once the add is CC'd, the tank should pull the boss near (not on top of) the add and face the boss toward it. When the boss casts Foe Breaker, tank 1 should be alone, and ensure the boss is close enough that the add is hit. Then the entire raid should stack in front of the boss to help split the Flame Rend. Then the entire raid should move and tank 2 should taunt, and take the second Foe Breaker alone with the add. Then the entire raid will stack up again for the second Flame Rend, and after this is over everyone in the raid needs to move out for Searing Tempest. The add needs to be hit by all 5 of these moves, twice each.
Each ability that hits the add will give him a stack of the respective buff, with the Ember becoming a Manifestation after 4 stacks of Foe Breaker, 4 stacks of Flame Rend and 2 stacks of Searing Tempest, or two full combos. Also if the add is alive for 3 minutes, it will explode regardless of it being near the boss, so there is a time restraint and you can't simply take as long as you need.
Once the Ember transforms you simply kill it. It gains a stacking raid-damage buff but it has virtually no health so this will never actually matter.

The add will get the buffs it needs to transform while banished and will automatically become unbanished upon transition.
The hard part is the ranged and the tanks doing the fight with 1 central hit location.
How you do it now:
- Tank in front
- DPS Behind
- Tank in Front
- DPS Behind
How you do it for the achievement phase:
- Tank in
- DPS and other tank in
- Tank in
- DPS and other tank in
- Spread for circle.
The add it makes is a joke, don't save lust for it.
For this achievement you will have to transform an
. To accomplish that, the Ember has to get hit twice by

and check its debuffs to see if all abilities have hit.
Ideally, for this achievement you should bring a Warlock and a Demon Hunter, Druid or Warrior tank.
First, let the
move away from the edge of the platform, and then have the Warlock cast
to make it immune to damage. Make sure to keep the add crowd controlled throughout the fight.
As soon as the tank gets knocked back by

In case you don't have any Warlocks, you can use

Given the Taeshalach Technique is different for this achievement compared to heroic / NM regular fights, we made sure everyone understood what to do right of the bat in P1. That is in P1 we had the tank take the foe reaper then had the raid stack up and run through the bosses legs for rend. The off tank taunted as the raid ran back (boss didn't move) and took the next foe then the raid ran through legs again for 2nd rend. Even though there was no add up at this time it set the teams minds to the new procedure, which we then maintained throughout the entire fight. This 'relearning' is the hardest part of the fight actually.
We treated this kind of like a heroic boss were we had a lock perma banish the add (banish means it takes no damage the entire fight) that comes from behind the tanks (where its also furthest form the raid group normally). Fortunately in NM you can burn all the adds you don't need. We had to make sure the add was close enough for the foe to hit the add (i.e let the add run a bit from the platform towards the middle) so on the pull move the boss past the mid line towards the front for a bit more room (helps with rend spacing as well).
Must be done in 2 consecutive Taeshalach Technique from P2 - or your add will explode before it transforms. It took a couple of goes for the raid to unlearn/relearn the movement for rend and to get the distance right for the add to take the hits and not get absorbed. The lock and his healer working on the add stayed away from rend and everything else until the transformation happened. When it did we hero'd and burned the boss.
The Dedicated & Openraid achievement group completed this on the 10/12/17. Average ilvl of the 30M group (2T/6H/22DPS) was 945+

Warlock Banish. You do not need to expertly time your banishes and unbanishes.
If the banished guy gets free and walks into the boss it explodes. As usual.
If you want to do this with a very specific and weird setup a friend and I 2-manned it on normal at 120 with a ridiculous method as a monk and priest.
The most important and odd fact is how Argus interacts with a monk's ox statue. When the
hits the ox statue it does not cause him to gain the damage buff he usually does for hitting too few players, as well as making his attacks not hit as an AOE, ignoring everything in it's path but the ox statue. This seems awesome at first, but this also stops him from stacking the needed buffs on the
Ember of Taeshalach
. With a lot of experimenting, we figured out this:
The monk placed his Ox statue which held aggro as I DPS'd as a shadow priest until we went to the second transition phase at 40%. The monk would then paralyze the ember and we started the next phase. As Aggramar readied the technique the monk would taunt Aggramar to the ember, thus allowing it to receive the buffs again. The first
's knock-back was counteracted by a Leap of Faith by me, and the second by the monk's transcendence. We would then let the ox hold aggro until he started the combo again. He would dismiss the ox to make sure it didn't pull aggro and make one of the hits miss and would avoid the first knock-back with transcendence again, where on the second hit of flame rend we would let him die on the swing, which caused his corpse to not fly off the edge. When he finished the combo the ember became the
Manifestation of Taeshalach
and all that's left is the kill. I used an
Unstable Temporal Time Shifter
to bring him back, though you could get away with not doing this if you can kill him before another round of knock-backs.
A weird method, but we worked with everything we had. The ox statue shenanigans should at least be useful for any group with a monk wanting to try this achievement with a small group.
your class need to meet 3 criterias.
have CC to

Not sure if this helps others, but the avoidance corruption helped me mitigate some of the damage.
can counter the knockback, if you use it when
's cast bar has under 2 seconds left (after halfway through, roughly). There's 1 minute between techniques in Normal mode, so you can either cut it very close, or use ripple in the first Rend the first time and second Rend the second time. This gives you more options classwise if you're trying to solo the Flame Rend (or solo the whole achievement).
If you don't want to bother with targetting the floor, then this macro automatically targets your current position:
/cast Ripple In Space
I was able to do it as a guardian druid (
. And dps corruption (TD rank 3)).
If you don't dps fast enough and you get a Taeshalach Technique, don't panic. Ripple in Space will be off of CD because of the first intermission.
focused an Ember, kept
up on it, shifting out to refresh. Especially when Aggramar was almost at max energy. Dps Aggramar, with back to Ember about 8-10 yards away.
When Aggramar hit 100 energy, I stood very close to the Ember, under 5 yards. It wasn't getting the buffs when I was 8 yards away. No thrash/swipe obviously during this part.
On the first Flame Rend, I Rippled a few yards in front of me (so it didn't kill the Ember). run back to near Ember. hopefully TD doesn't proc during these 1-2 seconds
The second Rend I spammed
. Often I got kicked so fast I didn't get the charge off before I was too far away.
on Ember before Roots expire. Either in between Rends, or when running out of Searing Tempest.
Repeat starting at #2. Don't take the boss to 40%. On the attempt I got it, he went to intermission right about when the Ember transformed, so that almost sucked.
The add is easy. The boss is straightforward after that. I did the ripple/charge for the one technique I had in phase 3, and I'm pretty sure it would have been cooled off for another.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas if you're trying other classes. I'd tried as a demo warlock, but Foe Breaker was hitting hard so I switched to a tank for 'easy' mode.
Did this achievement with a Warlock and a Demon Hunter tank. The warlock used banish to keep the required creature alive and in place while the DH managed the boss. At 466 it was hard for the DH to survive every cycle. Using Infernal Strike for the knock-back worked very well.
Did this achievement last night with some guildies. Was a pain in the butt, boss kept absorbing the add or we'd miss the technique hitting it. Finally did it with two death knights tanking. First DK would use death's advance to negate the knock back, second would taunt and change places with the first, and use death's advance to negate the knockback from the second flame rend. Boss didn't get too close to the add, no one got knocked off. Death's advance cooldown meant it was up for the second technique set. Hunter kept the ember cc'd. I would highly recommend using two DKs for this achievement. We one-shot the achievement after switching to two death knight tanks. Did it with eight people, but that was because many guildies wanted the achievement. I expect you could do it with just three, the two dk tanks and one person to CC, like a hunter or lock.
I just did this as a survival hunter, but had another person to help me. I've never played survival before (I main BM) so I bought some garbage weapon from the AH for 100g and switched to survival, went from 479ilvl to 450ilvl. The trickiest part is definitely timing the
. Because the ability has a min and max cast range (8 - 30yd) it's very easy to miss your window because you fly off from the knockback in less than a second -> and you need to have 2 successful hits with it like explained by Sipder2.
for the respective combos. Just before 2nd combo starts I do
, that kept me alive enough to reach the 3rd and 4th combo. If you drop below 90% health you can do some damage to the boss a bit for the heals / leech, but careful not to push to 40%. I did the 4 combos successfully but died on the last
, that's where the 2nd person comes in to do 1 more
and kill add + boss (any well geared class will do). This achievement might be completely soloable as survival but you need to time everything right, easier if there is one more person to help finish stuff like I had just in case.
Of course you also need to remember to refresh
, I had some failed attempts where I did everything right but forgot to refresh and add touched boss. So it's a lot of things to remember at one time but it's doable after some tries. Be ready to spend an hour or two if you want to try this, a lot of things can easily go wrong.
Guide for two-manning this achievement on normal using a
Mage and Hunter
Mage requirements: be Fire, and have the Shimmer talent, and about 27k HP (more is better).
Hunter requirements: none, but being BM might help.
1. Mage opens with a single spell, then Hunter misdirects pet and brings Aggramar to 80%.
2. Freeze trap a single ember, clear the other embers / elementals.
3. Hunter dismisses pet when Aggramar has 80 energy. Aggramar will start hitting the mage when pet is dismissed, DPS for threat if required.
4. Mage stands just a short bit away from the trapped elemental, points Aggramar towards it, and:
*** Tanks the first Foe Breaker with blazing barrier up.
*** Shimmers as the first Flame Rend finishes casting (
: don't be reactive, shimmer based on the cast timer)
*** Repositions himself to be in front of the elemental with Aggramar facing towards it, and casts Alter Time, gets hit by the second Foe Breaker, then reverses time back to full HP.
*** Shimmers as the second Flame Rend finishes casting
*** Exits the Searing Tempest circle.
5. If done correctly, the Mage should be alive at about 4-5k HP. Hunter resummons pet and takes aggro so mage doesn't die. Wait for 80 energy and dismiss pet again
6. For the second Taeshalach technique, the mage will take the first 3 hits and die. The hunter will disengage the second Flame Rend (
timing is crucial here, if you disengage too late Aggramar will deaggro and despawn due to his target being outside the arena
7. Hunter runs away to avoid Searing Tempest, kills the add, and solos the rest of the encounter.
I just earned this achievement solo as a warlock.
Assuming you understand the general strategy to earn the achievement, here are some warlock specific tips (copied from the video description):
1. I don't think you can do this without being Night Fae or having Pillars of the Dark Portal legendary. Using the gateway to prevent the knockback is the hardest part to time, so do that on the first knockback. Once you do that correctly make sure to use demonic circle on the same technique. On the second round of technique you can use soulshape (or gateway again with Pillars of the Dark Portal) and demonic circle again.
2. Banish lasts 30 seconds, so make sure to banish right before the technique starts, otherwise the add will be absorbed by the boss before you can chain banish. During the AOE ability in the technique, make sure not to walk the boss through the add, and to either chain banish perfectly, or run the boss away from the add to give yourself time to set up banish again.
3. The second Foe Breaker can do over 30k, so you probably want at least 35k total health, and to stay topped off using drain life.
4. You probably want the add a bit further away from the boss than I did in this video; it was almost absorbed when I soulshaped to avoid knockback.
Possible to solo as balance Venthyr Druid in 9.1 with some practice.
