Most likely a reference to the song Hotline Bling by Drake.

Late night when you neeeeed myyyyyy loot
personal achievement, just one random book per one copy of instance, will need dozens run for this achive if unlucky.
should READ it to get achieve, don't forget :D
Yea I know what that Fel Tome reads...
The diary entries are on the desk in the small room before last boss (Ravencrest), and you can get credit for this achievement in Heroic mode. Not sure about normal, yet.
One Diary entry is under the broken Stairs with second boss. Near some bookshelf to the left when facing the boss.
Found the "Torn Page" in the Chamber of War(room after the 1st boss), on a desk to the right(south side).
It seems that on different visits to the dungeon, you get a different location for the book.
works on normal!
After digging around the instance for a good hour or two on normal, I managed to find all six notes hidden in the instance, and took some screencaps to point them out:
Found in the Chamber of War Room immediately after the Amalgam of Souls fight, on a desk by the southern part of the room.
Found in the Grand Hall, to the left of the broken staircase, by the bookshelves.
Found in the Grand Hall, it's in the hallway connecting to the stairwell that takes you to Illysanna Ravencrest, tucked in the back on a desk.
Found in Rookshold, the room filled with Wyrmtongue Tricker, on a table by three bookshelves and two weapon racks.
Found in Rook's Rise, in the small round room connected to the stairs leading to Lord Ravencrest's Chamber after defeating Smashspite the Hateful.
Found in Lord Ravencrest's Chamber on the desk, at the end of the instance.
These spawn on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty, and you'll only get
per run, making this achievement a six-run minimum.
There is no difficulty requirement for this achievement. It can be done in Normal, Heroic or Mythic.
A video showing all locations plus some useful information!
Scavenger hunt led me here!
Currently doing this with my team. We're 5/6 with the last one needed...
On to run #15
I'd say the most annoying part about this achievement is the amount of times we had to reset the instance to get the page we needed lol. Other than that patience is a virtue!
Did a quick video guide to help get you closer to your Leyfeather Hippogryph hope it helps and happy hunting!
Day 1:I found 5 tomes in 6 runs, this achivments seems easier than I tought it would be.
Day 9: The elusive Singed Page did not spawn yet. I will keep trying.
Day 283: I've been trapped in this place for month... maybe even years. Spider and goblins tried to eat me, I cannot tell what is real or what is a figment of my imagination, but I must persevere, my survival depends on it.
After 4-5 hours of farming BRH on NORMAL mode with the same group, we have yet to get the page at the last boss on the desk.
RNG Based dungeon achievements are NOT working, blizzard please.
Can these pages be found in Mythic+?
I found this achievement when I was wondering why every LFG (normal) group seems to disband after getting to the chamber of war after the first boss.
15 full runs later i finally got Hastily-Scrawled Page.
RNG can be a !@#$%.
After trying for over an hour to get the final page, I had the idea to use a shadow priest's Mind Vision ability to see if the last page we needed spawned. It does work, and you can check to see which page has spawned from the start of the instance. You just need a jumping off point to get to everything from the entrance.
With this method you can see every page except the one that is in the Chamber of War.
From the entrance you have to target a Wyrmtounge Scavenger or Trickster. I just did /tar wyrm. Once that is Mind Visioned you can then navigate to the different pages by targeting these npcs:
Torn Page: There are no NPCs in the room so you can't check it directly
Worn-Edged Page: target Commander Shemdah'sohn
Dog-Eared Page: target Risen Archer (you need to target one of the archers in the hallway that leads up to Illysanna Ravencrest)
Singed Page: target a Wyrmtounge Scavenger or Trickster
Ink-Splattered Page: target a Risen Swordsman or Lancer
Hastily-Scrawled Page: target Kur'talos Ravencrest (then from him target a Risen Swordsman or Lancer in the previous room)
You will likely need to Mind Vision jump from NPCs to check on all the spots since there are many NPCs with the same names listed.
Once I figured this out it only took us 6 more resets to get our last page to spawn.
Shamans, you can scout the entire dungeon using far sight and see which pages are up.
You are able to 'get through' the locked doors with far sight, it takes a little practice though.
On the first door, place far sight in the lower middle area of it, then swing your camera around a bit, sorta facing the ground, and you should be able to clip through enough to see the other side.
To get through the two iron gates just keep spamming far sight on the ground beneath the gate, face the camera directly down and just keep placing it on the ground as far forward as it goes, it lets you go like an inch farther each cast, you'll get through them after a few.
Turn off all your mods probably, you usually get a loading screen after every cast. Saves time waiting on loads.
I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not but after 7.1.5 dropped, I was unable to get credit for pages found in normal and heroic modes. Obviously it still worked in my next Mythic run.
Can anyone confirm that as of 7.1.5 you cannot look for books in normal & heroic? I mean the books are still spawning in normal and heroic but I fear that it won't give you credit unless you are in Mythic and Mythic+
Seems like the Normal/Heroic Dungeon Finder dungeons are static per day. I tried yesterday and got the same spawn 6 times in a row, and today two times in a row.
For everybody looking for info on doing this in normal during 7.1.5
I've done 20+ normal BRH runs so far in 2 days with pugs.
All pages spawn(done page 3 4 5 6) and give credit in normal.
Do not listen to anybody else, they just got bad luck
The trick to getting people is putting a group up under BRH Mythic in the finder so more people see it.
For example I use the title: "Legion hero - read description", and then in the description tell them we're farming normal runs
For me, as a priest, Mind Vision did somewhat help to finish this achievement but it didn't reach all the notes (or I assume so since we didn't have any World Quest bosses present when we did it - two might actually help you "see" the notes if they're up). But it's still worthwhile doing. I got the achieve the other night doing this, but it did take a little luck for the last three pages.
First off, when you enter the dungeon, just stay in the front foyer. Use /tar to target a Wyrmtongue first thing. /tar Wyrm will do.
It will take you to a wyrmtongue demon that's wildly running around in circles chasing something (I forget what, probably a rat).
After that, /tar Comm (quickly, if you don't wanna get too sick). That will take you straight to Commander Shemdah'sohn of the Rooksguard, who is standing at the end of a room full of his risen guards.
From his viewpoint you can then jump to a Risen Archer to see if the Worn-Edged Page is up. It will be downstairs to the commander's right on a table/bookshelf.
From the Risen Archer you can then jump to other mobs down the winding hall from the room and that should take you to a table that would have a Singed Page on it. /tar Wyrmtongue Trickster usually does the trick for me, you might have to keep jumping from mob to mob to reach the table, though.
Cancel Mind Vision at this point. You're back in the front foyer. /Tar the running Wyrm again, then from there, /tar Kur. That should take you to Kur'talos Ravencrest. From there, /tar a Risen Swordsman. That will take you to a room with two guards that should have the Ink-Splattered Page on a table.
The Torn Page is impossible to "see" via Mind Vision since there's no mobs in that room (which you enter after the first boss). Fortunately it's not far from the entrance, just do a few normal runs to the first boss and keep resetting.
The Dog-Eared page is actually in the same room as Commander Shemdah'sohn and his Rooksguard, but it's around the corner in the hall to his left and you actually can't see the table in that corner via Mind Vision. If I recall correctly though, a World Quest boss will sometimes appear there. You might be able to jump to that boss to check.
Finally, there's another note in another room just before you come to Kur'talos Ravencrest, the Hastily Scrawled page. Wowhead comments seemed to indicate that you should be able to check that room with Mind Vision, but I couldn't. Again, though, there is a World Quest boss that appears close to there, which you might be able to jump to in order to check.
So TL;DR if you're planning to Mind Vision for that achievement, it would probably be a good idea to wait until a World Quest boss is up in there. Good luck!
I have been working on this achievement for days now and I am north of 50 attempts for 1 last page. I can confirm as others have that you can farm normal BRH for the items needed. I used an affliction lock at 931 and I could farm normal fast enough to hit the 10 resets per hour limit. If you are going to use a lock, do not forget to use your eye of kilrogg to save a little bit of time. Since it is basically guaranteed to farm this for a long time it is nice to also be an enchanter to disenchant the blue items you get. Also make sure to look at the screen shots of the locations to make your farm process as fast a possible.
On a side note, this achievement was designed terribly. The endless cycle of rng to get the items seems like the developers ran out of ideas while the project was due the next day, so they plugged in the old wow rng system and called it done.
I don't know if I'm incredibly lucky or if this has been changed but it only took me about 7 or 8 runs. I had trouble getting the page in the great hall to spawn but other than that they all spawned in unison one after the other. I solo'd it on normal and just reset the instance after. You only need to kill two bosses, the first and third.
So i'm not 100% sure if this is a "trick" or not, but this worked for me @ patch 7.3.5.
I had done about 10 or so solo normal runs of BRH a while back and managed to get the first 3 pages. I kept getting dupes of the first 3, so i ended up giving up.
I returned today, and on the first 2 runs, i got the next 2 in the series. I was obviously pretty excited about this, thinking they may have made it easier. Anyways, the next 5 or so runs I kept getting dupes of the pages i had just picked up,
but NOT the previous 3 that i had picked up a couple months earlier
. This got me thinking. What if, you had to log off, wait a bit then log back in? This may 'save' your completion status on a server kind of how your armory gets updated after you log off.
Anyways, i zoned out of the dungeon, reset the instance, logged off (not ALT+F4, but the 20sec logoff), waited a bit, then re-ran. Guess what the next page was? The last one i needed.
Now i'm not sure if this was a coincidence, or my theory actually works. But it's worth a try for someone giving this a go.
You need to be 5 people in order to get this achievement, me and some overgeared friends tried to 4man it but the buff didn't refresh when we killed the bosses.
After trying to get the pages for a day I decided to keep track of what pages were spawning. I came to realize that Pages 1, 3, and 5 would only spawn when you entered onto the dungeon from the right. Pages 2, 4, and 6 would only spawn if you entered the dungeon from the left, of course only one per run would spawn. This made it a lot easier to when it came down to getting the last page.
Edit- I did all the pages on normal.
Mythic both sides are open when you enter so that makes a difference.
It's fairly simple to solo this on normal. It took me about 20 runs over 2 sessions (instance cap stopped me first time). That's a little high given that the probability suggests you'll get it in 14-15 runs (
). I used a demonic build on my DH with a speed set that included Raddon's and Prydaz. The average run took 5 or so minutes. I got the 6th and 5th fairly early, so I rarely had to go passed the wyrmtongue room.
took my group 23 runs for the last note, making this only second annoying behind the court of stars role play that took us 46 runs
This is a very easy achievement to solo on a druid (especially feral) at a decent ilvl. You can zone in and stealth past much of the unnecessary trash. Druids have an innate fast running speed and stealth which makes you quick. And when you find your page you can tele to the dreamwalk which is just a short flight from the entrance and a reset. Nice!
Although, this achievement is lame. Bad Blizz!
Just completed this achivement in 6 normal runs as of patch 8.0.1. I don't know if I was extremly lucky or they have nerfed the achivement to prog towards what you're missing.
As a death knight, since you can do this on normal, clear it then death gate out, reset all instances, death gate again and it puts you back at the start of a fresh instance. This helped a lot since there isn't any easy way to get out of that dungeon.
If you still miss pages after running the dungeon and you want to
teleport back to the entrance
, there's an easy trick:
1. Create private premade group
2. ~60 seconds before you will reach the point you would like to teleport back, leave the group
3. After few seconds of leaving the group, 60s countdown will appear
4. After being teleported, reset all instances and re-enter dungeon
You can do this on normal. You can reset the dungeon after clearing and the note may or may not change places.
My first run to farm this, the note was at the end.
I got out of the dungeon, reset, cleared again. The note was the 2nd to last spot (after Smashspite, the 2nd to last boss).
It does change spots after resets, if it doesn't... that's rng luck for ya. Gets harder and harder as you have less notes to get.
I dont know if this will help anyone, but me and and a friend did this achievement together and entered two different dungeons, and whenever one of us got a page that we needed, the other one went out from the instance, got invited by the other player and just collected it, went so much faster :)
Easy but extremely Repetitive Solo for Level 120 and Beyond...
1. Normal Difficulty.
2. There are 6 locations for the letters you need to read,
and only one will spawn per instance run.
As a result, this can virtually be completed in a minimum of six runs. You can reset the instance to get a fresh letter location, but sometimes it will be in the same location, when that happens leave instance and reset again.
3. Locations are in order of start to end of instance. Watch the video to get the visual of the locations:
Library Desk -
(On the right side desk in the library you enter after killing the first boss.)
Bookcase in Grand Hall -
(On the left side of the Grand Hall where the commander and his archers spawn before second boss)
Desk to the Right of Grand Hall -
Dog eared Page
(Once you kill the commander and his archers, the gate opens, this desk is right around the corner before second boss)
Wrymtongue Hallway Desk-
(On the desk, in the hallway with the Wyrmtongue Demons on the desk after the second boss)
Pedestal after stairs -
Ink Splattered Page
(just before stairs leading up to Lord Ravencrest's Chambers and the Final Boss, third boss must be killed, and then the gate opens)
Lord Ravencrest's Desk -
(just before Final Boss)
4. So, run, read, and reset instance, until you have read all six diary entries.
5. Extremely boring and repetitive. This took me 14 runs. I have heard nightmare stories of 50+ and some as low as 7. It is entirely Random.
7. Profit. Achievement Completed.
As a shadow priest doing this after the expansion, my steps once you've gotten the hang of where all these are supposed to be:
Step inside the instance.
/Tar Wyrm, and use Mind Vision. Click on one of the static Wyrmtongues in the hallway, and skip down to your left using Mind Vision until you can see if the
if you cancel your mind vision at any point, go back to the Wyrmtongue running in circles, then continue.
/Tar Risen Sword, swing the camera around to see if the
is on the podium.
/Tar Kur, swing the camera around and if there isn't a glowing object on the table you can just barely eek out down the hallway, the
/Tar Comm, then target one of the Risen Archers or mobs beneath him to check the corner for the
cannot be Mind-Visioned, you must at least kill the first boss to access these two, but do not need to kill Illysanna for the Dog-Eared.
16 runs in total for all pages as of 8.3. 1 mythic, 15 normal.
You can use arena skirmish to teleport out of dungeon after each run to reset it. Good hunting!
got the first 5 in my first 5 runs...nice, i must be lucky, ill be done with this quick...22 runs total to get the last one lol
If, like me, you're running this on a druid and sick of running out of the instance once you discover the last page you needed hasn't shown up (for the 50th time), you can save your paws a bit by using Dreamwalk.
Cast it inside the instance once you know the page you need isn't there, and then cast it again once you're in the Dreamway (
go through to the Dreamgrove though). Its "return to where you cast the spell from" feature will put you
the instance, so you can reset and run right back in to try again. And there's no cooldown, so you can repeat the trick ad nauseam.
You can also mount up on your favorite vendor mount and clean your inventory/repair while you're in the Dreamway.
Hope this helps others save some time!
For those who look for the picture of the map with the locations link
which I found on google
On average, you will have to enter the instance
times to get this achievement. Enjoy
Quite repetitive and boring. The good thing is that you can get this achievement on normal mode, so basically you just run, reset, repeat, repeat...until you get all books. As a suggestion i would advise to do this achievement with a high speed movement class like druids, shamans, demon hunters etc.
I did it with a shaman, it takes around 7-10 min/run.
I was a bit lucky because in my first 3 tries i found
, which are the furthest away books, so after i found them i reduced my run time to half.
Finished the achievement after around 25 runs. The hardest book to find was the first one,
, which i found last.
Edit: i had a hunch so i tested it with an alt: it seems that the spawn of books alternates daily. What means that? I means that one day you get the 3 closest books to the entrance (
) and next day you get the 3 furthest away books from the entrance (
). I think it was done on purpose to ease the farm of the books. Imagine: you get higher chances to get a book if the randomisation pool is only 3 books than 6. I'm not sure if this is true, but this is how i experienced it: first day i got all the 3 furthest away books and after i did around 10+ runs and no book at all from the 3 closest to the entrance. Next day i did again, in the first 6 runs i got all 3 closest to the entrance books.
If anyone can confirm my theory, please reply.
I want to debunk
some comments here.
1.it doesn't matter which direction you're going from at the beginning.
2.yes, you're unlucky (or lucky depends how you look at it) if you get the same page spawn over and over.
3.all the theories of "today I got 3 tomorrow 3" "if you do this on sunday its easier" is false.
4.it is completely RANDOM. just run it over and over until you get this.
it is literally the same thing as doing /roll 1-6 until you get every number.
or RandNum commend on any programming language (which is probably the commend used on these books too).
I did 5 runs , every run I got the page I needed, the last one for Dog Eared I had to do it literally 40 times.
Good luck ^^
If you find that Kur-Talos bugs out after the last boss fight and you can't select him to teleport out of the dungeon, just wait for him to stop speaking and then type '/tar soul'. His invisible model will be highlighted and then just press whatever button you have bound to Interact with Target to speak to him.
Whoever designed this achievement should be fired. Absolute pain. There's no reason for all pages not to be accessible on a single run. Unnecessary tedious.
I got 5/6 right after another, but the final page has taken me, so far, 30 tries. :(
is it normal not to get any pages sometimes? like at all? i absolutely triple checked my run and all the spots the pages should spawn, no sparkles at all
(this was my first attempt on normal)
Got the first five pages in five runs. Now waiting for the Torn page in the first area and I just finished my 12th run :(
This has to be buggy somehow.
I got the first 5 pages in not even 10 runs... i am now at 60+ and counting, i am just not getting the "Dog-Eared Page". This cannot be only bad luck.
If you know the locations, just run it in normal, get the 1 scroll that spawns. Go out. Reset instance and repeat until you get all 6. I just did it today and works like charm. ^^ Good Luck
If you're farming this achievement on normal and resetting the instance each time a good day to do it is when there's a world quest for killing a spider inside of Black Rook Hold. I'm afraid I don't remember the name of the quest, but when it's active the first spiral staircase will no longer be full of spiders and you can run through without being pulled into combat even while in stealth. Not that big of a deal, but a nice QOL thing.
If you get fed up of running in and out, queue for a quick arena, when it is over, it will teleport you back to the start.
Just did this achievement in patch
runs total, page frequency:
Page 1: 6
Page 2: 4
Page 3: 1
Page 4: 2
Page 5: 3
Page 6: 3
I highly advice you to take a high mobility class like a druid (what I did), unless you want to crawl slowly through every run.
I might have been lucky, so good luck to those who are doing legacy "glory of the -- hero" <3
Do you NEED to click a page to get a new one to spawn? I keep leaving if the one I need (worn-edged) isn't there and hitting reset... Is that my problem?
Just wanted to add a point that no one seems to touch on.
The page you find can be any of the six pages, they don't necessarily spawn in order. So check all spawn points for pages you don't have. Don't be a fool like me and stop when the next page in order isn't there.
I was fortunate to have the 2nd page (worn-edged) be the last page I had to grind for. God bless the man (or woman) that is only missing the hastily-scrawled page and have to run the entire dungeon every time.
Seriously, this is absurdly tedious and time consuming to be only one minor achievement in an already heavily time consuming meta achievement. I seriously respect those that did this back when Legion was the latest expansion.
My advice for 9.1:
I set my hearth to Bradensbrook in case I had to go all the way out. I’m a hunter main, with pets on passive I was able to use
Eyes of the Beast
to scout out some pages because some of the other commentators mentioned the priest version, and it saved me some time. I tried to do it all in once instance with it tracked on the side. Definitely check the top comment for the image locations if a visual is helpful. The trash is easy but not skippable still (unless stealth class) if you have to keep going up the stairs and you’re a hunter or have a sight ability, make sure you use it before you continue.
