During Heart of the Swarm in P2, about halfway through the cast the glow bugs will spawn around the edge of the room. They are red and look like a big ol loaf of ham (best way we described them). To squish them, they will have a cogwheel when hovered over and you click them to cast Squish. 4-5 Spawned each phase. Also tracking the Blizzard achievement
does not change
when the criteria is met. You have 5 phases of Heart of the Swarm to complete the achievement and kill her.

LONG TIME USER FIRST TIME POSTER: - finally glad to contribute to the pool. 5 hrs ago there was ZERO information on this and my raid group went in blind - During the sleep phase we located up to 5 clickable glowing bugs on the edges of the room - we missed the first 4 and only got one. For each new phase 2 we had people call out how many they clicked (and so jumped on) and someone keeping count. Our ilvl was average around 845 and we had to stop DPS in the last two phase 2 phases to ensure maximum bug squashing potential and ensure the boss didn't die to soon. We did the fight as per normal - best guide for that is by Proper Bird (see youtube channel). - this ensured poised patches were in one general half of the room allowing people to run around the walls looking for them. You only have time to click ONE each as there is a short delay into the phase when they spawn. We noticed they spawn in the same places but there are more then 5 places they spawn so its kind of random - you can assign a group to handle one quadrant of the room. This helped us get them all and thus the achievement - again you have plenty of time to get all the phases down and there are at least 25 bugs - you only need 15.
Hope this helps - as an aside we had a rogue mysteriously leave the group after we mentioned there was no info on this yet (could it be the poster above?)

Since the Blizzard UI has no indication of how many bugs have been squished I created a WeakAura to track it.

During p2 of the nythendra encounter, Have players right click on 15 glowing bugs before killing the boss. 5 bugs spawn each time the boss is about to exit p2. Have players indicate in raid chat each time they successfully right click a bug so you can count how many you have killed.

We did this fairly easy just as long as you pay attention to the glow bugs and where they are spawning you will be fine. Created a quick video to help anyone who is wondering. Happy Hunting!

Just got this achievement a few hours ago. Unfortunately did not record it but most of my raid team reported the bugs spawning in nearly the exact same spot for each and every heart of the swarm. So if you find a bug during the first heart of the swarm check it out the second time and see if it comes back again.

Do another phase and kill more than 15. This was the second time I did this achievement since release and 15 are still not enough

Just solod this as a 340ilvl Blood DK, even with crappy mobility, using Wraith Walk and Death's Advance during some phases of Heart of the Swarm I could squish 2 bugs, however the thing that saved me was talenting Mark of Blood, and only damaging the boss with Marrowrend to keep Bone Shield up, then spending RP on the Mark. Using this strat the boss basically doesn't damage you even when the enrage timer hits.

As of 8.1, most likely tanks can solo this achievement. You see, during "recovering phase" (when boss reaches 0 energy) you will see some glowing bugs near the edges of the room. These guys will last for about 3-4 secs when the phase is about to end, they do not spawn at the beginning. So if you can click AT LEAST TWO in one recovering phase then you will reach berserk at some point. Nythendra will wreck you in seconds unless u can tank her and wait for the next recovering phase. If you survive her punishment and click all the 15 bugs in about 8 "recovering phases" then you are good to go.
Just give this achievement a couple more expansions for everyone to solo. Or just bring some friends C:(##RESPBREAK##)908##DELIM##FunkyJam##DELIM##Please keep a civil tongue.

When he reaches 0 energy they start spwaning. Very easy at 120, just wait to enough has been clicked on and kill boss.

Since there were a few details missing when I was looking through the comments to do this achievement the other day;
Glow Bugs spawn towards the end of the 'Heart of the Swarm' phase when the boss is lying down recovering energy
Heart of the Swarm begins shortly after the boss reaches 0 energy. She spends 50 energy each time she casts Nightmare Breath so the phases are purely time based and you do not need to damage the boss at all
The Glow Bugs are just some of the regular bugs that are lying around the edge of the room, which then grow larger and get a red tinge and a clockwork mouseover. Right click causes you to do a short cast and then a jumping animation to squish the bug
Unless you have really high mobility and are really familiar with all the spawn locations (they seem to have preset possible spawn locations but won't necessarily spawn in the same spots each phase) you will probably only be able to stomp 1 bug per person per phase
The Boss will enrage after the 4th Heart of the Swarm phase meaning you need 4 people minimum to meet the criteria before enrage
If you are a tank, healer, or just have awesome self heals, you could probably solo through the enrage, but in a group of four 400+ ilvl dps with no healing it caused us to wipe before the next Heart phase (we missed a couple of bugs in earlier phases)

It seems it's impossible to solo (unless someone can prove otherwise)
You can have 6 Heart of the Swarm phases, but even as Feral Druid, I can only get one Glow Bug per phase.. MAYBE two, if you are lucky and the first one spawn right on top of you and the second is very close.
But that is only 12 bugs.. You need a minimum of 15..
Currently (as of v8.1.5) is not possible to survive berserk for more than a few seconds, and it occur 5 seconds after 6th HotS phase.

Solo'd with 403 ilvl prot warrior. Recommend using
镶钻折射棱镜
to stay alive during enrage. I was only able to squish 1 or 2 bugs during each heart of the swarm phase, most of the time only 1. No glow bugs would spawn until there was about 5 seconds left in the heart of the swarm cast.
All together it took about 12 heart of the swarm casts, which is about an 18 minute fight.

I just solo'd this as a 380 guardian druid. My druid is just a farming toon that I only play feral. So, none of my azerite traits were for any other spec. All I did was just tank the boss and alternate my defensives after she enrages. I usually got one bug per phase, but I got two a couple times. It takes a while, but you'll get there.

This achievement can be soloed by anyone who can survive Nythendra in Enrage Mode.
430+ilvl with any healing/absorbs is great.
How to solo
灭虫大战
:
wait for 'Heart of the Swarm' Phase (occurs every ~60-90 seconds)
during Heart of the swarm phase find and click on Glow Bugs (golden insects)
do this until you get 15 Glow Bugs
Notes:
During Berserk you’ll start taking damage so it’s important to have some healing.
Try to stay in a fixed location that has 2 or 3 insects nearby so that you have time to click (raid marks can help).
It took me 40 minutes to find 16 Glow Bugs (I took 16 to guarantee haha).

Hi -
Did this solo as a well geared hunter at the end of BFA.
Things that helped me:
- I group with a friend that was outside of the instance so I could convert to a raid and use world markers on spawn locations.
- The glow bug spawn at 7 set locations around the room and from what I observed no more than 3 up at any given time.
- Don't feign death when doing this solo as it will reset the boss even if your pet is still alive.
- It is really hard to get even 2 glow bugs as a solo player per cycle as they spawn with about 10s remaining on the "hibernation" phase and each click takes 1.2s. They are generally spread out quite a bit.
- Any minor healing or absorb is enough to survive this fight. I ran with 2 stacks of resounding protection which provided 60k+ worth of absorbs every 30s with pet mend keeping me topped off.
- I was tabbed out due to boredom and the fight took > 30 minutes as I would miss some of the spawn cycles and get 0 glow bugs.

Currently doing this solo as a 472 Blood DK (DPS geared).
I am literally being slapped around by an enraged Nythendra as I write this comment.
I heal myself with Concentrated Flame active azerite essence (rank 4) every time I drop below 90% and that's enough to survive her enrage. Not using any passive essences because I forgot to put them in.
Just got my 10th Glow Bug, on the 12th Heart of the Swarm cast. I use Death's Advance at 10 seconds remaining on Heart of the Swarm. I stand in one spawn spot, then Wraith Walk to the nearest one if it doesn't spawn near me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is very boring.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just got my 14th one. Doing 16 just to be safe.

DONE.

Easy Solo for Level 120 Battle for Azeroth and Level 60 Shadowlands and Beyond...
0. Remove any gear/effects that will do automatic damage to the boss during the fight, the last thing you need is to be on 14/15 bugs stomped after some 30 minutes, and the boss dies early.
A. This will take time so make sure you've allotted at least 45 minutes for your endeavor.
1. Normal Difficulty.
2. Begin Fight. As BM Hunter, I misdirected to the pet, put in a few shots, and let Nythendra stay on my pet. Do not attack after the opening attack.
3. So after every minute and some, Heart of the Swarm begins, and near the mid point of that short phase, little Glow bugs spawn around the edge of the room.
4. Head to 50, 40 and you will find a Glow bug that spawns here, and if not, a Glow bug that spawns to the right of that spot, at 52, 37. This is important because during Heart of the Swarm, sometimes one of these bugs will not spawn, but
sometimes both of them will spawn
. If you are a fast enough class, you can stomp these two bugs in a single round, saving precious time. Swiftness Potion seems to work, but as a hunter I used Aspect of the Cheetah or Disengage.
5. Nythendra has a 10-minute Berserk timer on Normal difficulty, which seems to occur at the end of her 5th Heart of the Swarm phase. You may have to heal yourself.
6. Because I was using BM Hunter, I was able to spirit mend myself and utilize mend pet throughout the Berserk phase, which you will get to endure. (I suspect Shadowlands players will not have any health issues here, but this note is here just in case.) Nythendra's threat aggro kept changing between me and my pet as a result of the trading of healing abilities, this resulted in not so much damage being taken during the fight.
7. Rinse & Repeat until you fully stomp 15 Glow Bugs. I did 17 just to be safe.
8. Kill Nythendra.
9. ?
10. Profit. Achievement Completed.

Solo'd this as a lvl 60 subtely rogue, 209 ilvl.
Like it was said, it is very hard to stomp 2 bugs in the same phase unless they are very close, meaning this achievement will take a little while to do.
Nythendra will enrage and surprisingly enough, she does hit hard enough to make you think a little before trying. To give you a rough idea, she was dealing around 25k damages between each phase which is not big at all but many specs lack enough self heal and may not able to handle that much.
Therefore, i suggest you either switch to a heal spec if you have one. Else, you may need to require help from someone else.
As a subtely rogue, i was able to sustain myself easily enough with Crimson Vial, Evasion and the talent combo of Soothing Darkness + Enveloping Shadows.

Really not a fan of stuff I can't solo... This is the worst I've tried in a while (on a DK) that I haven't just given up completely: I don't know if Blizzard changed anything but I'm rarely seeing two spawns, mostly just one. Certainly not the FIVE that other people have reported.
BUT it's the location and timing of the spawns that's giving me trouble...
ALWAYS on the exact opposite side of the room to where I am, and they only spawn HALFWAY THROUGH 'heart of the swarm'.
So sometimes I am on the RIGHT side of the room BUT they aren't spawning until halfway through the CAST time of 'heart of the swarm', and it's a two stage spell, so it's the second half and I've moved to look for them elsewhere... There's like a 3 second window (exaggerating for effect >.<) and a two second 'stomp' mechanic.
I'm missing LOADS by the time I run to them, FAR more than I'm grabbing... Been at this for two hours now and potentially only stomped five.
The kind of thing that just puts me off, especially when my experience isn't lining up with the other comments here.
Helpful suggestions and I'm all ears.

I used the IAT achievement tracking addon to help me keep track of how many bugs i squished and how many i needed. I did this at level 60 on a 220 ilvl BM hunter, i had my pet stand a spot and just stand there, as i didn't want my pet to accidentally kill her too soon, it wasn't hard at all to keep my pet healed. I manually used my pets growl to ensure he kept aggro, as well as kept misdirect up til she got super low on HP. Used Exhiliartion on CD, and just kinda walked around waiting for call the swarm to occur to squash a bug per round. Even after beserk she posed no real threat to my pet or his health, it was more about making sure he kept aggro and all during the entirety of working on the achievement.

60 - Warlock was really easy with Demon Skin talent, it just took a long time.
Had my voidlord pet attack him then stay passive on a far side of the room
Soul leech from Demon skin let me stand in pools and afk until Heart of Swarm phase
Demonic gateway let him squish two bugs (most of the time, sometimes only 1 bug spawned where my gates were placed)
Other than time consuming it was easy enough :)

Did the first try at 264 Ret Paladin
Thanks other post for your help.
Solo. wasn't sure how much gear to leave on so, I just left 4 peices to be safe .
The key is don't kill Boss, survive throughout, be patient takes time!
When "Heart of the Swarm' Phase starts look, for glowy bug in the room could be more then one. (was never able to get more then one on each phase)
A gear symbol will appear on the glowy bug that you click when, you get close to it ...
rinse and repeat.
ps: I did 2 extra just in case one didn't count. Looks like once you click gear you get that one even though the phase ended.

Doing this on a balance druid (ilvl 232). Few things to note:
1. Keep all your gear on, you're going to need it to survive enrage (as compared to being completely naked - some commenter below said take your gear off, this is a stupid tactic don't do it)
2. Don't bother dpsing the boss, just taunt it to start attacking you
3. Stick to the outside edge, and sit there, letting the boss wail on you, it doesn't matter, you'll never lose life (esp as druid bear form).
4. Wait for the second phase, when the boss screams "No I still have much to do, return to me" and look for gold bugs (they may only spawn within the last 5 seconds of the encounter). You'll see a cogwheel and you right click to squish the bug.
5. Squish the bug before the boss goes back to phase 1. Stay in the same area that you found a bug, don't bother moving.
6. Rinse and repeat 14 more agonizing times before dpsing down the boss.
I used an online counter to keep track of how many I had squished. Just google 'online counter" and find a decent one that you can just click onto whenever you do the phase.
I also kept a youtube video on in the background to keep me from being completely bored during the fight, because it takes 80-90 seconds between phases and you literally are doing nothing but just waiting for the next phase to start. May as well keep yourself entertained.
Even if the boss enrages, she'll still do the normal phases of throwing rot on you and then derping out to let you squish bugs. I could max do 1 bug per phase, and after learning where one of them spawns, I just sat in the same spot and could easily find one. Even if I found two nearby the phase would end before i could squish two of them.

Easy enough on a 60 Warrior, Dragonflight pre-patch.
Aggro boss, wait. No need to damage her. After ~2 minutes, she phases ("No... I still have much to do..."). ~10 seconds after she says that (halfway through her cast) the glowbugs spawn. The northernmost edge of the room has the two closest-together spawns, but you'll likely only get one bug per phase, making this a very time-consuming achievement. You can just /say your count after each bug so you don't lose track.
I only got two bugs in one phase twice. It's very tight timing (and RNG) to get two, but there is no need to, it just speeds it up a bit.
No direct healing needed, the passive base Warrior talent Pain and Gain was more than enough to sit cozy at 100% the entire time, through enrage, breath, pools, everything.
Took 26 minutes.

The glow bugs always spawn in the same places, even if you already squished some in that spot. So find a spot with 2 close bugs (I used north wall) and squish 2 per swarm. (or per player)
评论来自
Wyldewolf
As of 10.1.7, after the boss enrages, the glow bugs don't spawn in static positions, so getting more than 1 her Heart of the Swarm phase was nearly impossible on a druid. Having a leap/teleport might make it doable. Also noticed the add didn't spawn until about halfway through the HotS phase, sometimes under the exploding bugs.

Dragonflight this fight is a joke on 10-man normal. Hunter? Just put yer tank pet on it. it will survive enrage and barely take any damage at all. 150 a tick or dodge city.

They only spawn on the perimeter of the room you're in. You have to CLICK on them to squish them. Best doing it on Normal difficulty as stacks of Infested can become cumbersome at 100.
评论来自

Best method I've found to do this as a Solo, without use of Raid Markers.
(Screenshots included)
Patch: 10.2.5
Expansion: Dragonflight
Class: Mage
Solo: Yes
Difficulty: Normal (Do not do this on Mythic, you will die at 10 stacks)
I'll go over the basics before going through the strategy, in case you happen to be reading this comment first.
- Nythendra needs to reach 0 energy before she can cast
虫群之心
which is the phase that causes the red larvae to spawn.
- She easily does this by you just standing AFK until she casts
感染吐息
twice. Soon after the second breath, she will fall asleep and the phase will start for you to be applicable to click on larvae.
- What most of the comments here do not mention, except one or two of the top comments. Is that the red larvae to click on
DO NOT SPAWN UNTIL HALFWAY/NEAR THE END
of the
虫群之心
cast.
Strategy Solo:
- This took me exactly 30:00 minutes.
- I do have the utilization of two blinks, which did help me get sometimes 2 larvae in a phase.
- Using speed potions/movement speed % boost trinkets will help greatly here. But not required.
- I took 0 damage by just being able to cast Prismatic Barrier each phase. Only took around 30k~ damage a phase. 0 with the barrier.
1. Stand where shown as per this screenshot
here
. Use the mini-map as an indicator, this is the best (well the first spot) I found that just worked well, and I stuck with it.
2. Wait for the two casts of Infested Breath, leading into Heart of Swarm.
3. Position yourself
here
afterwards.
4. What most other comments don't mention is that now you have to wait for the green plague (from the looks of it) to hit the larvae, as they siphon towards the boss, for the red larvae to appear.
5. With a 100% ratio, I always had either one or both red larvae appear as shown
here
.
6. Count until you kill 15. Then kill the boss.
Profit. Good Game.
