Felmyst is the 3rd boss in Sunwell Plateau.
She spawns when
Brutallus
dies, she raises out of Madrigosa's corpse. Felmyst looks like
Sapphiron
in Naxxramas, reminds of
Nightbane
fight in Karazhan (summons skeletons and flies around).
You need to kill
Brutallus
to be able to remove the firewall that makes you unable to continue in the instance.

you cannot divine shield the MC effect from Green Vapor
also, felmyst does not tailwhip, so feel free to stand behind her.

The enrage isn't so bad on your tank since you can heal through it. The worst part is when she does gas nova. It hits every single member of your raid for ~11k per tick. Needless to say we wiped. lol.

As for tanking the skeletons as a protection paladin, aggro the first three skeletons that spawn from the green trail with avenger shield, the second bunch with consecration and the last ones with holy wrath. Pull them to the middle where all the healers with healaggro should gather so you can take the skeletons off with consecration. Earthbind totems and hunter traps help alot to kite the skeletons.
This is especially useful when you have to run away from the mindcontrol fog. You can turn your back to the skeletons and run at full speed without being hit too hard (no blocking from behind). Backpedaling will wipe the raid.
Also, the skeletons dont deal that much dmg. I have 112 avoidance with gear on TIer 5 level and tank all of them without problems.

It appears that this boss may have originally been named Felblaze because all her sound bites in the game files are under that title. to listen to the intersting ones enter these into your wow chat box:
Glory to Kil'Jaeden, Death to all who oppose!

I am stronger than ever before!
Berserk:
No more hesitation! Your fates are written!

After her death Kalecgos appears before flying towards the Sunwell:

When your guild is learning this fight, if a wipe is called it's economically sound to run into Felmyst's
Fog of Corruption
. You will die from
Soul Sever
and take
no durability loss

Was doing SWP with some friends the other night and just wanted to point out a few things, as I hadn't known it, coming in.
If taken to 1% after the eye beams, he will die once he hits the ground (after the breath phase).
If at 1% during the eye beams, he will reset in the air after the skeletons and won't go into the breath phase.
You
can
kill him before he takes off into the air. We had him reset multiple times, but finally were able to take him about a couple of seconds before he phased into the air. Having not done Felmyst since pre-3.0, I was pretty surprised and wasn't sure if you could actually do such a thing until achieving it.

Even at 80, shes reasonably difficult. Be careful whom you pug, one wrong move from more than 6 people is a wipe on her deep breaths.
I wouldn't call her a gear check, but a "retard" check

At level 80:
We have everyone stack up on her, and just spam mass dispels on gas nova. When encapsulate happens, everyone moves out (use dsac for it). Due to the air phase with mind control breaths, she has the potential to be one of the most difficult bosses in Sunwell now. I highly recommend using vent and having someone capable at recognizing her movement patterns to call breaths. She usually dies right after the first air phase.

Presently (confirmed today and last week, and the week before), Felmyst's location when she emotes "Felmyst takes a deep breath..." and her subsequent route as she breathes do not correspond to the location of the Deep Breath fog, so her Deep Breaths are not avoidable in the same manner as Onyxia's, and rely more on luck and reflex than on preparation.
There was a time that they did properly line up, but either due to a graphical glitch or due to a change in the fight, this is no longer the case.
Note: before downrating (which I expect at least one knucklehead will do), please read what I've said. At the time of this posting, her breath does not correspond to her location in the air. If you have personal experience with this fight (since patch 4.1) and her flight path and location have been fixed, please mention as such instead of simply downrating.
On the upside, she is in fact now killable during phase 1 (ground phase) with sufficient DPS, whereas she used to stop at 1hp for at least one air phase. This makes the raid substantially easier for max-level players and, coupled with the new breath location disconnect, substantially harder for level 70 players.

As of tonight, I can report two things:
1. The situation described in Phoroneus's post regarding the lack of correlation between Felmyst's location and her breath is still true. Frustrated the hell out of us for several attempts, where she was clearly in one place so we all moved away, only to have her breathe on the spot we went to.
2. We weren't able to get her down in phase 1, but we did get her down to one HP in the air. She still does the breaths when this happens. Since we didn't have the DPS in our little 6-person group to get her dead before she took to the air, I can't report on whether she dies if this happens.

We did this at 85 and had a strange bug which I would very much like to see if other people can replicate, or if it was one of the 'one off' things.
We 3 manned this as a hunter, f druid (myself) and shaman. The hunter misdirected Felmyst to his pet, at which point Felmyst did not land, but hovered above us and constantly tried to turn to attack the pet, and the pet constantly ran to try and attack from behind. We were able complete this whole fight without Felmyst landing, or attacking anyone, and were easily able to melee/range Felmyst.
Strange bug but very useful for us.

I recently defeated Felmyst in a group of 4 people consisting of a Protection Pally (Me), a Mage, a Druid and a Priest. At level 85 we found the fight pretty easy apart from the fog of corruption phase which i'm sure gets alot of people stuck if they are not able to nuke her completely during the first phase, so i thought i'd share our method in case it can be useful for anybody.
After wiping due to fog of corruption numerous times, when we ran back we all stayed up on the shelf where you start before killing Brutalus. I jumped down on my own and pulled Felmyst back towards the ledge where the others could hit her from the safety of the shelf. Once the air phase started i hung around the bottom while she was channelling the spell that summons the skeletons however once she had cast it twice i had the priest pull me up to the shelf using their leap of faith ability. The whole party was then able to stay safely on the ledge while Felmyst cast her fog of corruption. Once she finished casting her third one i simply jumped down into a space in the fog and resumed tanking once it had cleared. From then on it was just rinse and repeat.
Obviously this method is pretty reliant on the priest but hope it helps.

A week ago I killed Felmyst with a 4-man pug group of 85s. She was in flight phase and cast Fog of Corruption on one of the raiders on the first pass. As the rest of us moved to the opposite side of the stage, the fog victim stood there mind-controlled not attacking us, and after a few seconds their debuff wore off.
Even more interesting, the third fog was cast on the entire raid, yet instead of us instantly dying like normal, the debuff wore off everyone, and we finished the boss. Has anyone else experienced this before?

This boss is plain annoying. I came here for help. I didn't find what I was looking for here, which was a strategy guide on her to get the guild achievement in a fun run. This was by far the MOST challenging boss for our run.
Read on if you wanted some strategy or help in your raid run:
First we had one warrior tank, one holy priest, one shadow priest and enh shaman at cap (85), plus 2 ranged at about 80, and two lvl 72 off tank / spriest. Everyone at cap was LFR or DS geared.
You will spot Felmyst easily after Brutallus goes down. She is a skeletal wyrm. When pulled, (I used Heroic Throw) she has a ground stage and then if you are unfortunate enough to dps her down to zero, she does an air phase. Phase 1 is really easy... please burn every cooldown to try to get her down to zero. Your healer will probably want to dispel the poison she AOEs on everyone, so stay close by, if they have mass dispel. Otherwise don't worry about it and wait til phase 2 to dispel.
The other strategy guide I read here said that you could DPS her down to zero at phase 1. This is true. If you are NOT lucky or if you don't have great DPS, phase 2 is really annoying. First the adds are summoned, which don't need to be tanked and really aren't hard at all, in fact, I think one thing I would do next time is just let everyone AOE them whereever they spawn and start spreading out. They are just green poisonous looking skeletons, and you get about eight on the ground at all times.
For phase 2: The most important part here is to spread out for her breath. Her breath will appear at first as a green laser beam, nothing you haven't seen before by this point in the game-- and you just run out of it. But then, her breath will show up as gaseous green splotches growing from a little mist ball, then getting thicker until you are basically smothered in it. The green splotches form an AOE mind control for everyone in it. First you will run around confused, then you will start attacking your party if you are in it. While confused, you will be unable to use any cooldowns such as berserker rage or Heroic Leap and you'll sit there. For this part, please (1) get CC ready and (2) spread out. Two people in our party were MC'ed and we ended up killing everyone. If you are MC'ed just call it out and have someone hex, sheep or trap you. Other than running away from the clouds and MC'ed players, I don't recall anyone trying to put ranged DPS on her at this time and I assume she is out of range.
She is also buggy; she also regained full health, for unknown reasons, when at about 10% health.
I think we tried her four times and finally got it the fifth time. We tried the tank going down and everyone else up on the platform strategy, and that still failed.
ETA:
The location of the Fog of Corruption is going to be totally random and there is not going to be any indicator of where it's going to be per Mendric's post.
(Post edit: Looks like once the Fog spawns ONCE, it's going to spawn in that same place for subsequent phases.) It usually spawns in the center of the area but not always. I felt like every time I wiped, it spawned right on my head. If everyone hugs the perimeter, where the fire is, when the skeleton adds come out, that MAY give your group enough space and time to get MC'ed members of your party CC'ed.

Seems like, without insulting anyone in specific, there are some noobs in this thread.
To know more about breaths, just look at the video: "how to felmyst", explains all possible combo of breaths.
However, basically, she does one at south, very easy to recognise, cause she flies ridicolously south when she does it.
Then there's a middle one and a north one and probably some more, and the ONLY problem is that it's a bit hard to understand a breath, which seems to be middle but is north; you always have to look at how felmyst moves and learn that if she does that movement it's middle, if she does the other movement it's north.
Again, the video explains very clearly all kind of breaths, been made for 70 groups.
Also, many dks soloed this, including myself, and I can assure you that you don't have the dps when solo to bring her down before air phase, and actually not even after 1, you
will need to survive 2 air phases
while solo.
If you get hit by breaths, you can get lucky that you have a tentacle of the old ones\bloodworm up and in that case you won't be able to do anything for 5-6 sec, after that all is fine, but unless this happens, you will die, so CC's are not an option.
I normally stay south, cause it's quite easy to recognise, look at her movement, if she comes south I move north, to be sure, and after a lot of wipes now I manage 90% of breaths correctly, also soloed felmyst completely in enrage using 394 tank gear, 20 mins fight, so really A LOT of breaths to avoid.
Little curiosity that 70 groups could've never known, I guess: if you let her enrage, it lasts only 5 mins (this are no news), after you survive it (possible now as dk in full tank gear), it expires, BUT after 5 more mins she enrages again for other 5 mins, luckily I killed her some seconds after that, she really hurts, 35k hits when enraged, and also puts a dot for 15k lasting a lot of seconds.
Also used a prismatic elixir for the solo fully in enrage, the other time I died just before the enrage faded, she flew in the air with a 15k\sec dot on me, skeletons didn't spawn yet, and I couldn't heal...

Here is a simple way to avoid stress and kill her with ease. There is a gap between the stair-wall where the Blood Elves are (though they do not spawn until after you defeat her) and the fire ditch. When she flies up simply walk to the other side of the fire (out of her kill zone) and wait for the fog to dissipate, then she will land and you can continue.
I just tried this and she did NOT despawn.
Sucess!

Another annoying little glitch to report on:
Last night two other 90's toons and myself downed Brutallus. I hopped on my mount, went to the left of where we jumped through a gap in the firewall, and hairpin left up some switchbacks.
Riding my bike up these ramps, there weren't any mobs. But I was informed to come back as Felmyst had spawned.
You also might find yourself done with Brutallus and cruise off looking for the next boss. But you would be wise to just wait a minute or two by his corpse. Felmyst will come down.
As of today's date, we had plenty of dps and we did not see her phase 2 (airphase) and we just took her down rather quickly.
After we killed her, there were now mobs to kill on the ramps where previously I had just been, where none had existed before engaging Felmyst. I came to post this in case anyone else had gone too fast and missed her.

I went in this raid recently on my hunter (level 90 beast mastery with a 484 ilvl, using a spirit beast). Although I didn't go for a full clear, Felmyst is the one boss that almost got me to give up.
I didn't fully read up on the fight, so I wasn't prepared for the mind-control effects of her deep breathing. I banged my head a lot trying to get around it, as I was only watching my mini-map and not the boss itself. I did find something out on accident, though.
The broken balcony that you jump down from, you'll notice several poles that were once (and sort of still are) holding it up. Facing the debris, the pole on the far left is where I stood during her aerial breathing exercises. This was because I had only seen her breathe on the far south and the middle section of the map, and managed to avoid one of her breaths on accident by standing under the balcony (I later messed up and ran into mist before my pet ripped me to shreds; Bestial Wrath does NOT break the MC effect). My next attempt, I ran for the underside of the balcony, and she ended up placing mist right on top of me (much to my dismay). I leaned back in my chair to await my death, when I noticed the effects of the mist flickering on and off. After she finished her final sweep across the field and the mist on top of me faded, I was in control of my character and able to finish off the boss. (I also feel I should mention that I had my pet on passive.)
I'm not sure if this was a bug, or because both "characters" in the raid were being controlled and simultaneously broken free as a result. Either way, it worked and I was able to get through to the next boss(es). Figured I should share. :)

I just soloed her several times on my warlock, which class has an amazingly easy job doing this boss.
First of all, before you even jump down the balcony, summon your DC onto the edge. After you defeat Brutallus (shouldn't take more than 2 minutes), and Felmyst spawns, teleport back, and summon it again, just to make sure it won't disappear.
Before you pull, set up a Demonic Gateway towards the opposite end of the gauntlet, and run to it. Leave your pet (Voidlord, of course) somewhere in the middle of the room, so if you get MC'd, you won't attack each other (since neither of you will be in aggro range of the other).
As soon as the air phase begins, run the Vapors right around your Gateway, and if you aoe'd all the skeletons, use your Gateway to go back near the balcony, and port up.
IMPORTANT: Felmyst needs to have an enemy target inside the gauntlet, so make sure your pet stays there, or she is going to evade. (In fact she's got no evade, but she disappears for a short period of time)

Soloed this with my 85 blood DK in 417 ilevel gear including Jade Forest greens and auction house blues.
The first time I did this fight I tried the strategy of standing next to one of the wooden poles that held up the wooden scaffolding when Felmyst breathed Fog of Corruption. This worked but the second time I tried this strategy I wiped 5 times. So I decided that there must be a way to tell where she is going to put the fog otherwise no raid would ever have been able to beat her. And sure enough there is. Right before she casts the fog she faces the side of the field that will be covered in it. Using this strategy I beat her easily.
So when she flies up hang out in the middle of the field, there's a crate there you can use as a marker, and watch when she flies to the end of the field. She will then face the side that will be covered in fog. When you see this move to the other side.
So basically just DPS her until she flies up. She will breath Demonic Vapor on you which will spawn skeletons that are virtually harmless and easy to kill. She will then cast fog 3 times and land and you can DPS her again. Just keep repeating this and you'll win.
The strategy that caused me to wipe 5 times relies too much on luck and is affected by whether you have permanent or temporary pets. The randomness is caused by an ability called
Soul Sever
which will kill you if you are mind controlled and there are no other players who are not mind controlled.
Pets despawning, while you are mind controlled by Fog of Corruption, will trigger
Soul Sever
. Blood worms count as pets. If you have a permanent pet and you are mind controlled and your pet dies or you kill it or whatever that can also trigger Soul Sever.

Well, I'm not sure anyone needs help with this these days, but just in case you're like me and don't know the fight, here's my experience.
I-lvl 512 s-priest...
I got her down to 1HP before the skeletons spawned, and we entered what is apparently Phase 2. Don't stand in the bright green pools for too long, and just AoE the very-low-health skeletons that spawn. Then, she draws a great breath, and lets out a stream of light green smoke. Don't get in it, haha. It's insta-death, which is what happened to me the first time. Second attempt, I just got out of the way of the fog. After the third breath, she came back into range, and I hit her with PW:D and she was down.
This is apparently one of those bosses where it doesn't really matter how fast you burn them down, they will continue into the next phase regardless (ala Al'ar in TK).
Strategy
should also
does work with melee classes, since she's not actually in the air that much.
Hope this helps!
Edit 8/23/14 i-lvl 556... She
can
be killed in the first phase without transitioning. Leaving previous comment mostly intact for players without enough sustained DPS to down her in the first phase, since that's why I originally posted the comment. My i-lvl 525 arms warrior is doing enough DPS to kill her in Phase 1 also, so the "air phase" isn't as issue. Pull her with Shattering Throw or your spec's ranged ability, and she'll kindly land so you can whack on her in melee range.

Monks! Use
魂体双分
to completely avoid the entire
腐蚀之雾
phase. Before you drop off the ledge to fight, leave a copy of yourself up with
魂体双分
. As soon as you kill the skeletons that she spawns, run towards the ledge where your spirit is waiting, then use
魂体双分:转移
to warp up to the ledge.
You aren't safe yet though; I'd suggest you cast
魂体双分
again immediately upon getting up there (in the same spot) and replace the spirit for the next time this phase arrives. Once you have split your body and spirit again, don't wait there! The fog will still hit you if you stand on the ledge. Run back towards the green crystals in the middle of the room and you will be safe from the fog.
While you are waiting around, this is a perfect time to heal up if necessary. You can use your
, but I'd also suggest casting
移花接木
to generate Chi. It will have plenty of time to cooldown before you fight again, and your Chi will not expire over time because you are still considered to be "in combat".
Felmyst will make 3 passes raining down the fog before she lands. After the third pass is over, take a few seconds to check that all the fog has cleared and that you have your spirit waiting for the next time this phase arrives. Once she has landed for good, go ahead and jump down. You'll have a decent amount of time to engage her again but don't take too long or else she'll reset.
You can do this fight in Windwalker spec without any concerns, her damage is not so bad and is easily outhealed with
移花接木
and
真气波
. The Fog phase will also give you plenty of time to heal up if you're having trouble.

Felmyst Figured Out
When you enter the deadly "Felmyst takes a deep breath!" phase, here is exactly what she's going to do, so listen up. She's going to get back against one of the edges of the area.
What she's doing is giving herself room to strafe across the field of battle so keep her targeted and watch her dot on the minimap.
When she starts to move, you should be as far away from her as possible. Watch for when she starts to move and look where she's headed. She'll be on one end of the battlefield and you should be on the other end.
She's going to move in a straight line and lay down her essentially insta-kill breath of mind control, so when she starts to move,
get the frell out of her way.
That is all.
P.S. - She should breathe three times. Three non-fails, and you're safe.

Okey, here is a simple way to down this boss. You just dps her normaly until she spawns skeltons.
Kill them. And when she flyes up to use breath, just go behind the big tree( hard to miss it) and wait for three breaths to pass and for her to land. From there you just dps her down and gg

Ok, here is my experience as a level 90 Blood Elf Warlock (
Destruction spec
). I had her down to 1 life prior to her entering the air phase, but she did it anyways. My issue (
and subsequent wipe
) came from the Fog of Corruption phase in which she MC'd me and had me attacking my Voidlord.
Even looking back over my combat log I can't really see where it all went wrong unless my Soul Link was the cause. I tried to use my Unbound Will but it didn't release me from the MC. So I died, rezzed with my Soulstone and tried again (
this time without a demon
). I found a barrel near the wall of fire and stood on top of that to pull her. I just burned her from there and she died before she ever had a chance to enter her air phase.
TL;DR: Seems to be a much easier solo fight without a pet.

Solo'ed as 90 BM Hunter. Took me three tries because standing behind the tree and under the balcony did not work. First two I got hit with the Fog and MC'd. Unfortunately on the first try I realized that Spirit Bond coupled with the Fog's effects makes me and my pet heal faster than the damage taken. I was stuck in limbo until the rage timer hit(went and made a sammich). On second try, after getting caught in fog again, I did an "End Task" on WoW and logged back in. Upon logging back in I realized that the encounter had been reset and both myself and pet were still alive.
Third try was a success. I ended up just popping cheetah, watching where she lined up and running away.
On another note, she would not fall below 1hp during first phase for me. She ended up doing the skeleton beam thing and fog breath with 1hp until she landed again.

If you are just doing this like I am, for the legendary bow, and you don't need anything off Felmyst I found a way to bypass the Fog of Corruption.
If you have a tank pet out, and you happen to get hit by the Fog, you must know how annoying it is to sit there and duke it out with your pet who cannot harm you (in my case because of Spirit Bond).
So what I did was I just closed WoW, and I logged back in, I found my pet finishing off the job for me, but as I said before the only downside is there is no loot to this.

Don't pay attention to the "tricks" and glitches/cheats for avoiding the phase 2 cloud, just do what people did when the content was fresh. When Felmyst takes off and you get the raid warning, pay attention to where it is in the sky. You can also use the minimap. Run to the opposite side of the area to give you time to move. When Felmyst starts to move, simply move out of the trajectory.
Felmyst also enters Phase 2 after 1 minute. Most classes should be able to DPS it down before then. 110k would be more than enough.

I was struggling to do this on my Dwarf DK, because I found it hard to position the camera quickly enough to determine where she was before it was too late to run. Then I remembered one of the new tracking options on the mini-map.
If you keep getting caught,
try setting her as your focus and turn on focus tracking on your mini-map
, makes it much easier to gauge her position and just gtfo before she begins her run.

Look out for the '...takes a deep breath'! Use mini map targeting as mentioned in other comments.
As ilvl503 Assassination Rogue I kept Recup up, and burned down like any other. No stacks to worry about, but Cloak of Shadows is always nice to use in rotation.

If you mess up on Fog of Corruption phase just hit cntrl-F4 to shut down WOW quickly. Wait a minute or two. Log back in and everything will be reset with Felmyst flying above you. No death, no graveyard run, no run back through instance, no repair.
Note that I've only done this on my hunter with pet, but it works every time.

As an iLvL 480 Assassination Rogue she was pretty easy to solo. I kept Recup up and Shiv'd on cooldown, but probably didn't need to. Cloak is good for this fight as well.

I am a hunter (level 90) without strong gears. I tried everything says in this thread but it did not work for me. And finally I killed Felmyst in solo with the following method. And I want to share this
with the hunters who can not kill her at the first phrase before she flies up in the air
.
There will be two phases and this is how it may be end up at the first fight:
At 1st phase just start fighting with her as usual.
It seems like she can be killed at this point if you have strong gears.
But when her health goes down and if she is still alive, at some points she says something like "I am stronger ever before!" and flies up higher. Then the 2nd phase will start. She will cast you with a green streaming beam chasing after you while a group of zombies start attacking you. Then she will begin casting a Fog of Corruption (green fog) for three times from random directions from the sky with a wide range (at least covers 1/2 of the entire ground) while she is flying. Each fog will fade away right before the next fog will be cast. Then she comes down and attacks you directly on the ground for a short time and she will fly up again and repeats the 2nd phase from the beginning for a total of 3 times. After she comes down for the 3rd time, she becomes a berserk mode and try to kill you off. If you are covered by a green fog at some points, you receive unbreakable (and there is no cooldowns!) charms which you totally lose a control of your character. You are forced to watch both you and your pet killing each other until one of you dies (and it is a very long boring process to watch)...
Key to win this battle:
You need to find a way to avoid the Fog of Corruption (green fog) at any costs for three times for each round (if it takes you) for up to three rounds.
This is how I did:
I placed an object (right before she starts casting the 1st Fog of Corruption) which can
stays
on the ground until Felmyst can be killed (prefer lasting time around 15 min). I use a
Cluster Launcher
(last for 30 min). Be careful, some objects can not be placed out while you are in battle. Also some objects may not work.
The strategy behind this:
When I put object on the ground, Felmyst only cast a green fog either half lower side or half upper side. But when an object disappears, it seems that she casts a green fog at the entire floor. However when I saw other guide videos in youtube, other solo players in a different profession does not require an object to have the same effect. They are just walking around the center and still get the same effect. But in my case (probably only hunter?) I need to place an object which can last entire a battle time to create the same effect.
What to do:
Stand around at the center.
When she starts breathing in,
cast one object around the upper side from center (around /way 70.55 82.78 - TomTom users - this location is way over high from the center but I put it there when I killed her). Later note: I did not test it but you can test it to yourself if any different location will still work.
After placing an object, I just stood closer to a big black tree from the center. But according to the youtube video I mentioned bellow, Felmyst can cast a green fog either lower half side or upper half side. So it may be wiser for you to stand at center and see which side she is facing and you need to dodge her attack, for a hunter
Disengage
can be used, to the opposite direction from where the green fog is coming. After she put a green fog for three times, she will come down, then you start to attack her as hard as you can. She can be killed without waiting for her to fly up for 3 times. I killed her when she came down for the 2nd time.
This is how I discovered this method:
After I saw a youtube video
How to Solo Sunwell - Felmyst
by Bajungadustin. I realized one thing. In this video he puts an object at the center of the ground as an indicator to jump between the upper side or the lower side. So I tried to imitate him and put a
Cooking Fire
around center (Do you want to ask why I use it? Because it has 5 min lasting time and it is free. I could not find any object longer than that at that time. By the way I already tried a
Nat's Fishing Chair
and it did not work), and
Cooking Fire
worked for the 1st round. But as soon as a
Cooking Fire
disappeared, it stopped working and the entire ground was covered by a green gas. Next time I tried to use multiple objects to see if I can keep the same effect. But only the 1st object placed in the ground can have that effect. And as soon as it disappears I was covered by a green gas again. I searched wowhead to see if any objects which can stay around 15 min or more (the total battle time). But only object I found requires Monk (Brewmaster) :
Summon Black Ox Statue
which I saw in the youtube video and I could not have one. Then I realized I happened to have a
Cluster Launcher
(last for 30 min) in my stock and I used it and it worked! The only a hard thing here is to find an object can last until Felmyst is killed. In theory, if you can kill her in 5 min (during the 2nd phase when she comes down after the 1st round of three fogs) then you may only need a
Cooking Fire
. By the way you don't need to set your pet for "Passive" mode for this to work.
Side note:
I have a
Cluster Launcher
because I have two other alt chars and I am able to create it (require Engineer, Blacksmith and Alchemy and a recipe only can be obtained from
Lunar Festival
). (There is another
Firework Launcher
similar to
Cluster Launcher
but it requires more materials to create it so I prefer not to use it.) As long as a demand lasts I may put
Cluster Launcher
in Auction: Alliance, so others can buy and try it. Unfortunately
Cluster Launcher
ONLY CAN BE PLACED ONCE and it can not be re-used. I love fire works so I happen to have many clusters in my bank. I also try to put a cluster in Auction as long as my supply lasts so players can launch a fire work to celebrate after defeating her.
Off topic:
I happened to find
this hilarious video about Cluster Launcher
which is about somebody managed to wall off the entrance to the Dalaran North Bank with
Cluster Launchers
. This video is so funny that I can watch it so many times and I still can laugh about it. By the way this has already been hot fixed.
End note:
I saw many posts here did not work for me. So if my method does not work either, I want to delete it so players can avoid more confusion. Please post feed back here so I will know how it works for others.

WoD strategy: just burn her down within 60 seconds. That was already an option for those who could do so, but between the squish and 500+ gear becoming the norm, it's much easier now for those who couldn't. She's not one of those bosses that goes through other phases even at 1 HP, so don't save your cooldowns.
I finally got around to running my belf pally through Sunwell, and held back during phase 1 thinking that she'd do the breath phase no matter what. After I misjudged where to stand and died, I double-checked here and learned to just nuke her. I couldn't do it with Prot spec before 6.0, but it's not very difficult now.
We'll all probably be able to one-shot her by the end of WoD anyway.

Unable to solo as level 90 fury warrior. I tried everything but couldn't kill it before phase 2, and then the breath just auto-kills you (immediate death and release). Bring friends! (or maybe get to 100 I guess).

Just soloed as a level 90 affliction warlock. Tried back when I hit 85 but could not do enough damage before the deep breaths and I everytime I though I avoided it, I got hit. Anyway something funny happened, I managed to get him down to 1 hp. before breath but he did not die. So after getting hit I decided to do what others suggested and log out and back in so I could be at the beginning alive. Funny thing though, when I logged back in, felmyst was dead and I could loot the body. Gonna try it again after the cool down and see if it happens again.

Has anyone else noticed that Madrigosa/Felmyst sounds similar to the actress who plays 'Seska' on Star Trek Voyager?

Easy as any class, 90+
The hard part is either DPS enough to avoid phase 2 or avoiding the cloud in phase 2:
1)Try running to the opposite end while felmyst is in the sky preparing to breath the mist
2) Watch her head, she will allign up to a "corridor", but be careful she may turn just as she begins to breathe the mist
Corridor: The area is divided in three.
1 by the fire wall
2 right in the middle
3 closest to the ledge (where you come in)
She rarely goes for the fire wall
BUT
that area will almost always be covered! avoid it!

This boss is ridiculous. An instant, unavoidable kill is bull^&*!. Impossible to solo despite what people have said. My char wasn't even hit by the dragons breath, but the STILL got one-hit by soul shear despite NOT being mind-controlled.
Either the others are full of $%^&, or Blizzard has since broke it
EDIT
Okay, so I figured it out. To win this fight, when the dracolich flies up, watch where it flies off to. When it's getting ready to fire off it's breath weapon, you'll see it shift to face one half of the battlefield. Run towards the dragon, but away from the direction it's headed and you will avoid the breath weapon.
Be careful of getting too close, as the radius of the fog is slightly larger than the visual appearance. Also, if you have a pet, be aware where it is, as it may cause you problems. I think my death from before was due to my ghoul getting caught in the blast even when I didn't.
Either that, or it just screwed me. Anyway, it can be done. It's just awkward.

I was having trouble as an 81 Enhancement Shaman with full heirloom gear on except 1 ring. I realized that I had abilities I wasn't using.
英勇
and
weren't on my action bars and I had forgotten to refresh my
. I kept dying because she would reach phase 2 and it is fairly difficult to dodge the Felmyst Breath attack. After adding the two missing abilities to my action bar what I did was pop my
,
野性狼魂
(glyphed for two raptors), then
,
风暴打击
,
熔岩猛击
and drop a basic
灼热图腾
then popped
英勇
and
and threw some
s whenever my
fully proc'ed continuing to
风暴打击
and
熔岩猛击
when the abilities were active (I have the talent to get two stacks of each). I got her taken out just before she flew up.
I am dual wielding the
拳手钩爪
with
附魔武器 - 元素之力
on both. I guess that may help to hit the DPS I was doing at 81.

I was able to solo her as an epic-geared 80 Prot Pally, but it took multiple tries. The set focus mentioned earlier can definitely help keep track of her (keep an eye on the radar when she goes airborne), but I couldn't figure out how to determine where she was going to strafe the gas with each pass. I'm hoping there's a pattern that can be figured out or some other cue as I'd like to be able to come back to run this again.

For those of you soloing him at max level and are unfamiliar with the raid.
After killing
布鲁塔卢斯
wait about a minute for Felmyst to spawn from the dragons corpse.
